  What you want to do with the ATV without an Internet connection?  It is designed as a device of Internet broadcast, so you can access online content via the big screen in the living room rather than the pocket computer in your pocket...

  technically I think its possible but you would still need an Internet connection for the installation and update of the software process and even less to download applications and games, but if you don't have an Internet connection apps/games will probably not work. I don't think that there is 'out of play'...

  you have a problem with the laptop from my friend who drives me crazy. Laptop HP Pavilion G6 1283 SL (Win 7 64-bit), malfunctioning adapter is Atheros AR9285.

  Last night, she confirmed a HP Support Assistant update automatic and just after that, its wireless card has stopped working. LED light is always blue and the map looks like perfectly beautiful and functional - cell "sees", the drivers are up to date, everything is fine. It simply does not connect to the WiFi connection, Red Cross on the wifi icon.

  I tried every possible solution: first of all, any combination of 'reboot - replace the drivers - download drivers', and then abruptly deleting everything about Atheros using ZSoft Uninstaller and reinstall all the drivers fresh and new. Still nothing. Then, I tried to perform a system restore, and any time I choose, laptop was never completed because of a problem of 'missing file' generic. Has opened a whole new chapter, I checked for viruses, malwares and stuff, laptop is now cleaner than ever, still no recovery and again, no Atheros card work (I mean: it works for Win, but it doesn't actually).

  Please do not suggest me some "uninstall - reinstall - select X - enable-reboot" solution because 99.9%, I have already tried. Read almost any topic related to card wifi Atheros or Pavillion G6 questions, here and on the net.

  The only remaining solution is replacement of the card or formatting of the laptop? Needless to say, this is a ridicolous pretty outrageous waste of time (and money, perhaps). She needs her laptop for her job, and for some a matter of update of HP, she loses of fact already two days to solve this problem.

  Problem solved (by myself)!

  Apparently uninstall ZoneAlarm by using a "deep" uninstall program has solved the problem. After awhile, a new wifi Win miniport emerged in wifi card and Device Manager began looking for networks and our network connection to domestic.

I swapped for the new Intel one Atheros card and have no problem of speed, my only complaint with the Intel card is that the pairing is slow and my bluetooth headset connect automatically when it is turned on, as it did when installing Atheros card

  I contacted Intel directly and they told me that the Intel card, I had maybe isn't compatible for my laptop and that it could still be Atheros drivers/programs installed that interfere with the operation of the Intel card and that's why I have the problem with my helmet and it is better to have the card Atheros OEM reinstalled.

  I currently have the Intel card installed.

  I prefer the Intel on only the Atheros card due to this being dual-band, but when it comes down to it, I'd be happy with each card installed as long as I have no bluetooth or internet connection problems slow downs.

  I doubt that a BIOS update would solve the problems of overheating. An older office here suffers from overheating in Windows 10 and I think it is due to no AMD graphics driver to Win 10. The graphics card is old and not support for win 10 AMD. The driver using Microsoft base. No doubt will be back this machine to Windows 7.

  I gave up and will just buy a new DESKTOP PC, they work better and you can actually solve the material problems if it's graphics/CPU things, unlike a laptop.

  If I were to ever get a laptop once again, it will not be a HP, I'd rather have nothing then use a pathetic HP product ever, I would rather die then have to use it. Their technical support is pathetic, and I had nothing else problems with the HP laptop I've had since the beginning.

  The solution seems to be to disable the car care software? HP aware of this and they do nothing to solve the problems with the drivegaurd software?

  Has obtained a - beautiful machine - B570 running 64-bit Win7. The wifi seems to be terrible with this wireless adapter. It reads the signal from my router pretty well, even says that it is excellent, but it has real problems, try to connect to the internet. Must be the shortest distance possible from the router so that it can maintain an internet connection. All other devices that we have (2 laptops to work, 2 ipods, 2 smartphones) have absolutely no problem connecting to the internet all over the House but this laptop really struggles.

  I tried several versions of drivers and it seems that the old drivers of the '8' series work best, but are unstable. Have now reverted back to the original from the Lenovo Web site drivers. Looks like others have had problems with this network adapter but I've not seen a lot of resolutions. I spent many an hour to try to address this issue and it is now starting to drive me crazy.

  Any help appreciated gratefully.

  I have a problem with Windows Media Player 12.0.7061 when I try to listen to music through my home network Windows 7.  Windows Media Player has no problem playing the media all types of files locally on the Windows 7 system.  On my home network, .wma files play well through the (Pioneer) wireless speaker, but .mp3 and .mp4 files only play for the first ~ 5 seconds and then the audio stops.  If I wait long enough, Windows Media Player will skip to the next song and continue to play the .wma file.

  Is this a problem of DRM?  My home wireless network is too slow to allow .mp3 or .mp4 fully transmit the wireless speaker?
