Pavilion dv4: simplepass identity protection

I've upgraded from Vista to windows 7, and now the SimplePass identity protection (previously, DigitalPersona Personal 4.0) will not work.  The software loaded, but it says the fingerprint detector is not installed and asks me to install it.  I can't find a way to do this.  Help, please.  Thank you.

Hello JKhashram.  I appreciate that you try to get your work fingerprint reader.

Have you tried to install the driver of Windows 7 in Compatibility Mode?  Many users have reported success in installing drivers in this way.  Follow these steps and try to install this driver.

This option is useful if you click on the White Star under my name to give congratulations.

    Have a great day!

  • HP Envy 17-N152NA: HP SimplePass Identity Protection software

    Hello

Not sure what happened to my original post, seems to have been deleted for some reason any...

Last week, I bought the laptop above, an HP Envy 17 - N152NA, model N9Q54EA, that, according to the specification of the store both the specification on the HP site that the book marks HP SimplePass Identity Protection software, but for some reason mine is not...

I looked into the Recovery Manager and it does not list even to be reinstalled...

There the fingerprint reader and biometric option in Device Manager and I can set up a PIN and then installation in the institution even if it is gray because I still have to add a PIN.

I noticed that I DO NOT biometric options listed in the Panel which, apparently, that should be, or it would appear when the software is installed?

If I go to the HP support and drivers for the laptop page HP SimplePass Identity Protection software is listed, I just need to download this? Should not be as it appears that 10 Windows will use its own method? or are the incorrect specifications? I suspect not as HP and the store say he has the opportunity and HP show the software to download.

Thank you and sorry sorry for all the questions and if my original message broke rules...

Hope you can offer advice (again) on all of the above questions.

    @StuartTunstall,

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service!

I understand you had some questions about the HP SimplePass software among others, I saw your Product Details and you are right about it being a part of the package!

To inform you, you are also right on windows 10 using its own methods of protection as well, but if you like the simple pass, I recommend you to download the interface available here (download the drivers for the fingerprint reader, which should solve the problem).

    Keep me posted!

    @Wajdikh

I'm at a disadvantage: I do not read the French - and more important, I don't have this software - I single consumer grade systems at my disposal.

    I can offer the following:

Validity sensor driver noted for your facility is indeed assessed for Windows OS 8.1 and it is the suitable driver for your laptop.

There may be a problem with 'other missing' items - Windows updates missing, other drivers HP - maybe it's time to install the rest of the security programs in this eligible.

You may also that reinstall the driver of validity you have and that you restart the computer.  The computer is fussy about the pilot of validity being in a 'ready' State when the program is installed / activated / reinstalled.  (This is true on all your drivers - it's because the interface - with drivers and you can 'talk' the hardware in the computer.)

You can reinstall the driver from the Device Manager:

Open Device Manager > Open biometric devices > right click on your Validity Sensor >

Select Uninstall > do NOT check the Delete box >

    Restart computer and connect

  • HP Simplepass identity protection re-installation help!

Recently, I replaced a HARD with a new SSD drive in my Hp Pavilion dm4 1265dx and did a re-installation of windows.  I have already downloaded and installed most of the required drivers, but I'm having a hard time trying to find and install the Hp Simple pass identity/digital scanner.

Is any way to re - install Hp simple pass without having to pay?  Please and thank you

It's the flavor of the Digital Persona of HP SimplePass.  Acorrding I can find, it's the kind of security software that you need to use this computer.

    for a dm4

    sp55459_Digital_Persona_5.2.0.233_64bit

Validity fingerprint sensor Driver sp50862 V2.1.0.2

    Do NOT forget:

Pilot installs the FIRST - restart...

    Software installs second

After getting the software installed and your fingerprints if enrolled, you can import your passwords file that you created earlier.  (If you do not, is now a good time to learn how, see Dragon tips!)

    =========================================================================================

    Advice of Dragon:

NOTE: This tip is valid for most versions of Digital Persona...

Export the data base DP / make a backup:

Start/Open Digital Persona > scan your fingerprint to open > online accounts > Manage >

See import and export > Select export

    > Export data online from this computer account >

Scan your fingerprint > type your password >

Navigate to your folder selected > type a name > Finish

Protect the export file.  Re-export on a regular basis.  If you need to reinstall your software, you will be able to use that file to restore your passwords.

  • Updates from HP SimplePass Identity Protection 2011 does not appear in the official site of HP!

Hello, I want to have good hours...

I would update my Pavilion dv6 6080 drivers... I just opened this link and check the new updates, I could not see new updates for this app to support Firefox 5...

But when I run the application and click the update button I discovered there is a new update, the HP Web site should be a refrence to update all the firmwares and applications that are linked, not for ex. I want to update my driver audio and required to check yearsabrazos co. for updated driver...

Just want to be aware of your answer...

Sometimes pages are not updated immediately when an update is available.  Usually the SOFTPAQ or the update is delayed on FTP server in terms of publication but is usually provided by other means (HP Support Assistant, mechanisms to update independent software etc.)

  • Cannot physically remove the hard drive from the Pavilion dv4-1430us

The disk hard origianal in this Pavilion dv4-1430us makes mechanical noises, so I will try to replace it with a new one.  I checked the owner's manual supplied with the dv4-1430us, and it gives these instructions (here condensed): 1) remove the power cord and disconnect the battery, 2) remove the hd plastic cover, 3) remove three screws of hard drive now the hd casing in place and 4) pull hard hd tab to the left then go out.

The problems are: A) there is no hard drive to draw labels, and B) after you remove the three screws, can't do the hd if I push on it to move to the right or remove it from the left.  I don't want to use tools like screwdriver large flat blade or bars of little Crow because it seems like that would probably break something.  Does anyone know how to remove the hard drive of this particular model without breaking something?

    HaggisCat,

Thanks for a very detailed and quick response.  It turns out the indications that I read in the manual, your statements and mine were all in line to exert a force on the hard drive in the direction indicated by the red arrow on your image.  (A picture is worth a thousand words and your supplied photo clarity that my summary of instructional text has not.)  I decided to take a picture of the entire hard drive in my dv4-1430us (see below) to show that there is no close tab Mylar pull, as there is on the photo you condition.   (The same gray metal tab that appears in your photo, but no mylar tab).

Apparently my dv4-1430us had some differences at its Assembly of HD compared to yours.  As you can see, the structural elements that surround the HD are very similar to those of your photo, but there is no narrow mylar like in your photo tag.  There is a dark mylar or similar film plastic on top of my HD, and there is a triangle of silver color at the bottom right of this film that points in the same direction as your red arrow.  I tried lifting up the end of this film, mylar and pulling that direction (to the right in this picture), but a part of it (in the upper right corner of this photo) began to tear.  As the film seems to only be glued on the top edge of the caddy HD (also called frame or cage in some articles), I doubted that the show was strong enough to eliminate the stress of a closed winching.  A comrade who has put a video on YouTube showing this procedure also indicated that he had torn this layer of film when he first attempted to remove the HD.  Because I assume that the dark film has a purpose (static protection?)  I gave up shooting at the right edge of the film.

However the consistency of the instructions in the manual, the instructions on this YouTube video and instructions in your answer on the direction in which the Assembly needed to move HD gave me the courage to put a force pushing the HD in the direction of your red arrow.  To do this, I placed the tip of a flat blade screwdriver large (blade about 5/16 "wide) at the points indicated at the ends of the two yellow arrows in my picture.  In these positions, the blade of screwdriver pushed against the HD box and not the hard drive itself.  Each of these two places, I gave him some very closed but controlled scrimmages, and HD finally moved in the direction of your red arrow as it is supposed to.  I then lifted all of the HD and replaced the HD without incident.

The action drag the new HD in place was much easier that it was removing the original HD for the first time.  It was perhaps because of some hard rubber padding that has been placed on each side of the original HD assembly that makes for a very tight fit.

I hope that this description is useful for others who do not have used mylar tab in their computers laptops dv4 and those whose HD assemblies are very tight in.  Thanks again for your quick response that gave me enough comfort to move forward.
