  • Get an IRQL error when reinstalling Vista on a formatted HARD drive.

My (HP a1700n) office has been very slow, perhaps a virus. I ran Norton NIS and also had Norton disk utilities cleaner. Before that the Office stopped completely, I was able to shoot the important things (pictures, videos, etc) nothing else I could lose and wasted. I decided to start over and reinstall the Vista operating system, since I don't have the disk. Has gone so far as to choose the partition and after that he began to «analyze...» "it froze and gave me some kind of error that the partition not could not be found or something like that, well I deleted the partition with the recovery partition since I created a disc a new partition using all the available space, but now I get the not_les_than_ error message. I only go as far as to choose the partion and starts to analyze then the BSOD appears. I did not add anything other than a 1 GB of ram and I removed it, so now the computer only has the 1 GB it is came with, everything else is what came with when I bought it 2 years ago. I don't know if it's hardware related or I'm doing something wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Fan cooling 90 b on Windows 7 Pavilion dv6-3225dx error

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3225dx, winddws 7 64 bit laptop for over a year and I started to receive a black screen at startup which said cooling fan error 90 b problem.

The problem started when I was still at school and I had to watch this long movie for an assignment.

The error would only be the beginning on all 2-3 weeks or so, one or two times, and especially when I turn it night and turn it on again 12 hours the next day later. I tried to update the BIOs from HP support assistant menu, but twice the update failed once it restarts after a update.

When the laptop starts it starts smoothly without problem, and the fan does not strong when the error screen appears.

A friend told me it might be dusty inside the fan or the fan needs to be replaced. But I thought I'd ask around on the forum to see if anyone has a solution (maybe something is not installed?)

the BIO system version is F.29

    Thank you!

    Hello:

    Your friend is correct.

I would try cleaning first cooling system since it is the best thing to do.

Unplug the computer and remove the battery.

Get a can of compressed air at your local office supply store.

Put a toothpick in the air intake fan and place it between two of the fan so the fan blades don't pinwheel when you spray compressed air, as setting the fan will ruin the bearings.

Spray the air in two ways - through the socket of the fan and the exhaust fan vents. Do a couple of times until you see no more than dust coming out ducts.

Failure to remedy the problem then maybe the fan/radiator Assembly will be replaced.

Looking at the specifications of product for your laptop, it seems that the Fan/Heatsink Assembly you need is

    603690 001.

Consult the service manual, Chapter 3, page 21 for more information and Chapter 4 for the procedures for removal and replacement.

  • Pavilion DV6 - 1247CL upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 8. 1

I want to improve my Pavilion DV6 - 1247 CL Windows Vista at Windows 8. 1. I read on the site of Microsoft support that the only way to upgrade Vista to Windows 8.1 must do a clean install of DVD. Will I have problems with the HP drivers, etc... ? If so, what should I do to avoid these problems?

Yes there is no direct upgrade path from Vista to Windows 8. 1. I provide a counterpoint here. Your laptop is powerful enough to run Windows 8/8.1 and I bet all the drivers work just very rare possible exceptions that will be easy to fix. I would say what you can do to give up Vista is a good thing. You might want to consider Windows 7 as an alternative, but all that will take place in 7 runs generally 8/8.1.

  • FSX 1722 error when reinstalling windows 8

And who have been something that I was expecting more than 5 months!

See if you can adapt this for Windows 8 and then use it as a guide for setting error 1722.

  • On the Pavilion dv6 network error

I use a HP Pavilion d6-2190us. operating system is Windows 7 64 bit. When I started this morning, I was greeted with the following error:

Another computer on the network has the same IP address that
This computer. Contact your network administrator for help
to resolve this issue. More details are available in the windows
    In the system event log.

Since I'm only one computer on my wireless network, it is quite confusing. What measures, if any, should be taken?

I had this problem in the past with a laptop. To resolve this problem, all you need to do is restart the modem. I would recommend the tension of your devices (printer and laptop, pull the power cable to the back of your wireless router or modem, wait 30 seconds and plug it back. When all the lights are back on and stabilized, turn on your laptop and printer. When they finish of turning it back on, the router will assign them new IP addresses. This should prevent you from having more conflicting IP addresses.

  • Pavilion DV6 LAN driver issues on Vista 64

    Hi guys,.

Just installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit on your laptop DV6-1131EA but I have problems with the network drivers.

Despite the page drivers for my laptop with Broadcom LAN drivers, Device Manager displays an installed Realtek LAN device but does not.

Tried to install the Broadcom drivers anyway and update the drivers for the Realtek device but no luck.

    What should I do?

    Thanks for your time.

Try a driver Realtek LAN wired HERE directly

For the wireless... you may need to Atheros rather than Broadcom.

  • Pavilion dv6 3140SA freezes when plugging in / deleting USB items

When I plug my USB PC keyboard will freeze for anything in 5 minutes. The hard drive light is constant and nothing works. The screen freezes, but if I watch a movie on the sky, for example, the sound will continue. This also happens if I remove a USB device (stick of memory, for example) without first turn it off in the remove the material Panel. Some devices (keyboard and mouse, for example) do not appear in the hardware Panel remove but once again, they can cause the lock to the top occurs when I remove them. I am running the latest version of the BIOS, Windows 7 64 bit.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Hello Fattage.

Your USB ports will cause the computer to freeze.

Go to Device Manager, uninstall the USB port and restart the computer.

This uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the ports.

Here is a link to the Device Manager.

    Do a hard reset.

    Turn off the computer.

Remove the power cable and battery.

Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth energy sources are deleted.

This should reset the hardware in the computer.

That you put it on press the F10 key. This will load the BIOS setup utility.

Press F9 to load the default values.

Press F10 to save and exit.

When the computer starts up, check if everything is working.

If he has not visited for a long time the problem started, you can run a system restore.

This will bring the system back to when everything worked correctly without affecting your personal files.

Here is a link on how to do a restore.

I would like to know how everything goes

  • I lost my files when reinstalled vista.

I need to know why files got wiped out. Norton worked in my system and all of a sudden updates has been reinstalled windows vista. I lost my files...

I don't know why or how Vista has been reinstalled (you have a partition recovery with a keyboard command to access it, or did you have the recovery disc or the installation disc in the drive)?  If it occurred in a clean install (which is most likely), then the hard drive was wiped clean of everything (you probably have Norton or any of your other programs more either) and the recovery will be difficult and largely a matter of chance.  If it occurred as a repair/upgrade (which I do not see how it could happen) then the files and programs will still be there (even if perhaps not in the same place even though they should be another reason, I think that it was a facility clean return to the conditions of the factory).   Norton has been known to do strange things to the systems (I do not recommend one of their products - there are better alternatives, some of which are even free - poster back if you want some recommendations - it could happen), but this is the first time I've heard of him causing a re-installation of the operating system (but it is not beyond the realm of possibility - the update could have triggered the order of re-setup in a way (, or maybe you accidentally hit the order during the process).

There is no way to recover your programs or settings (unless you have a full image backup - that will recover your data as well), but there is a small chance for your data (or at least a part of it).  You have even a normal backup of your data available - which could save you here?

Here are some free recovery programs that might help (try recuva) but read the following before doing anything else on your PC.  The fact that you did so (including re - install the operating system) goes against what is successful-, but it's worth a try.

    http://www.munsoft.com/EasyDriveDataRecovery/

    http://techpaul.WordPress.com/2008/06/23/how-to-recover-your-lost-files/

The files are not really deleted until they are crushed (although they are no longer available through conventional methods).  If you decide to try these recovery programs, you should stop using your drive hard immediately in order not to replace the data that you are trying to recover.  He slave on another PC and launch the recovery of this PC.  Even now you have definitely lost some of them if you use the same PC.  If you can not do this (slave on another PC), you run the risk of overwriting the data with every action you do on the PC (but you may still be able to recover some files - it's a matter of luck).

Only you can decide if the data is important enough to take the PC to an expert data recovery to recover files (they will have better programs and hardware to do that none of us do, and I've provided above).  Do NOT go to the Geek Squad or one of these centers of store-, they generally don't know what they are doing - it take for expert data recovery.  It will cost you a little and they offer generally no guarantees (meaning you pay full price no matter how much or how little they recover).  In the circumstances, I don't think that even they will be able to recover all or maybe not even most of it.  The decision is yours.

I'm sorry that what happened to you - it's very bad luck.  Subsequently, please keep a backup of your data to protect you from happening again (or any number of other issues that could lose your data).  Even better would be a full image backup that would preserve your system as it was when it was backed up (including programs, settings, data and all the rest).

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Get the error when reinstalling windows 7 on the drivers

Im having a problem reinstalling windows, I hope someone can help me the finishing process.

I chose Custom just to do a clean install but when comes the next page, it says that I have not all drivers. I guess his doesn't see is not my hard drive and I have no option to choose and im stuck in this page... can someone help me with this one

If the installation fails again, it may be a hardware incompatibility problem. Go to the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor on the Microsoft website to see if your computer can run Windows 7.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.
