Pavilion dv6: graphic driver problems
I recently updated my graphics drivers on the AMD website, which I did not know that at the time, did not fully support the laptop itself. After having done that, I had a problem with playback of videos where in certain circumstances the video would be black but audio would play again. I tried to uninstall the graphics driver that seems to resolve the video issue, but then none of my games would launch at all. Is there a way that I can return the graphic drivers for the basic version where I had not either of these issues?
See if works by running system restore.
Select a restore point created before you tried to update the graphics driver from AMD.
If you are not familiar with how it works, please see the info on the link below.
If this does not work, reinstall the switchable graphics from AMD/Intel support page driver and the driver of your laptop.
If you are uncertain which one that would be, please send the number of full model of your computer laptop dv6.
I have problems with the graphics driver on my hp pavilion dv6-3299. I installed windows 8, and it seems that windows will not recognize correctly. Graphics card is Ati mobility radeon 6650M. Sorry for the bad English.
If the driver is not supported by HP, then you can not go to it. The only thing I can think of for you to do is push your graphics chip. Windows 8 is quite recent and the upgrade of the operating system can affect material and it is very glitchy. The alternative, I can arrive at this moment is to do a refresh for your computer. I had to refresh my computer when I upgraded to Windows 8, but I didn't know that it would remove all my drivers for my hardware. If you want to update your computer, make sure you know where to find all the drivers for your hardware on your computer. Your sound card driver can be removed, your graphics driver disappears too and that fixed my problem with my card when I upgraded to Windows 8.
I have some problems with my switchable graphics driver version 8.982.10.1600 which is I guess obsolete (Intel HD 4000 + AMD Radeon 7670 m), since I updated my OS to 8.1.., I noticed that I was unable to open certain programs such as Skype, steam, WMC etc..., I also checked also in the event viewer for the error log, and it shows me what...
is it possible to get new driver for 8.1 versions soon?
Thanks in advance!
Please read the thread below for another Member of the forum how to have switchable graphics to work on a 4540 Probook s that has the same graphics card than yours.
Try the steps in Riri91 .
Currently, I have the HP Pavilion dv6-6121tx Entertainment Notebook PC with the configuration below.
Name: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
OS: WIN 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Interl (R) Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
RAM: 6 GB DDR3
Graphics card: Radeon (TM) HD 6770 M 2 GB DDR5
My laptop has a Ralink rt5390 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter driver and I want to spend with Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I went through the below URL containing all compatible drivers. But I am not able to understand where the AC7260 from Intel is supported or not.
Anyone of you can guide me on this please. Thank you.

My laptop is
HP Pavilion dm4-3107tx Beats Edition Entertainment Notebook PC. I tried to install the graphics drivers from this link:
but I could not install the graphics card intel. It is said that the cell does not meet the minimum requirements of the graphics driver.
I also tried to install AMD and he did. But every time that I reboot, Windows startup crashes.
I also noticed that results for starting blocked when I recently updated my Windows, including the update for the driver intel which I have not yet installed (because I know that once I did, I do a lot of recovery and repair of the system for the umpteenth time).
And now I feel really stressed out about it because I've been formatted my laptop for the second time, and the last time it was with the release of the pilot intel. I was stuck again started back and I got really tired of him.
I really need help with that.
What I have to install ALL the drivers in the link before installing graphics drivers to ensure that graphics drivers will install?
Thank you for your query.
I understand that you have a problem installing your graphics drivers. After formatting the drive and installation of the Intel graphics driver, you have a problem starting. Did you use the Recovery Manager to format and reinstall Windows 7?
You only need to install the driver AMD of the HP driver page because it contains the two pilots. Please try this process:
- Uninstall and remove two graphic drivers
- Restart your laptop
- Run the HP Support Assistant to help find and install the graphics drivers
- You can also after the uninstall, remove the driver and restart, download and install just the driver AMD.
If this problem persists, try removing both drivers and using the Recovery Manager to install the drivers:
Please let me know the results.

Here is a link to the HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. Please see Chapter 4 for removal and replacement.
When I was browsing through the maintenance and service guide, I noticed you have switchable graphics.
That being said, I suggest you do a recovery in factory. This will reinstall the drivers of graphics cards correctly and I hope to solve this problem.
During the recovery, there is an option to backup your personal data if you do not have a recently I'd do one now to avoid any data loss.
If for any reason any recovery did not resolve the issue please provides your exact model of DV6.
I have a pavilion dv6 6190se and I can't find an update of the display driver in HP support and when I download the update from the AMD website, it does not. This site was last updated is v8.882 and I can't stand win8 and it goes back to 2011-11-18. is it possible to update?

I understand that there is not a graphic driver for the DV6 6190se and Windows 8.
Windows 8 has not been tested on your laptop. This does not mean that it won't work, just that the result is unknown.
With OEM products, sometimes the drivers are modified to work with a specific system.
This is a driver for Windows 8 that you can try. Sp59383.exe.
I hope it helps.

You need this driver wireless for this ID:
I have a pavilion dv7 notebook and for a few months, I had problems with my graphics driver.
It began with a notice that my license was expired, so I went on the AMD website and tried to install the update. I ran dxdiag to find tool that I use an AMD Radeon HD 6620 G graphics card. I could not find my product on the list to manually install the update, so I tried the Downloader tool from amd driver and he had a problem of recognition of my graphics card. I then tried to update with the help of Support HP and that seemed to work for a while.
Yesterday my screen changed the lowest resolution and a notice came it was not recognizing my graphics driver. Yet once, I tried to update manually from the AMD Web site. When this does not work I downloaded the driver AMD Downloader and after installing everything he said is that "your computer does not contain a correct graphics card" and closed the program.
I am lost at this point uterally, and any help would be greatly apreciated.
This is NOT official HP customer service and I, like most other people on this forum do not work for HP. It is a forum for users of peer-to-peer supported for class for the HP consumer products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Response of an employee of HP represents his own opinion and not that of HP.
AMD does not support the graphics system from HP to address personalized and won't provide any drivers for it. As a general rule, HP does not provide "routine maintenance" updates and usually only releases updates to fix known problems. You could take the computer to a professional, however they will be able to do anything more than I suggested and maybe even not so much than that.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I was wondering if I could update my hp pavilion dv6-3078tx graphics card. My graphics card is ati mobility radeon hd 5650. Not a bad map graphic but not the best that I can not play Assassin Creed 3. I've heard of upgrade on a laptop is impossible, - is this true? I just wanted to get a radeon processor not mobility.
Thanks in advance* Click on the star of CONGRATULATIONS on the left say "thank you."

Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:
- New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
- Need new card system (certainly),
- Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
- May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
- Cost of the work.
- Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.
I hope this helps.

Hello, so here's my problem. This laptop is only three days old, and already I have a problem. So what is happening is that the audio transmission is having a problem. I have 95% use a headset and the audio works fine with headphones. BUT what happened earlier today that I just listened to a few songs and then I got a call from Skype, and just as I began to speak, the sound was messed up. The person's voice played through headphones, but my computer sound (the song) started playing through the computer and not the headset. Then, I tried to unplug my headphones and plug it back in, but then it didn't always work. The only way it worked was if I held the helmet and halfway into the socket. So, basically, I can't really talk to anyone on the computer without computer audio is turned on and messed up. Any help would be good. Thank you!
Welcome to the forum.
Try this and see if it helps.
Right click on your sound on your taskbar icon and enter the Settings of Volume Option.
Check the boxes for your audio devices.
Now, click on the sound icon and see that you will have a sound control for your devices appear next to each other - there will be a line through them. If you set the primary audio device, everything goes with it, adjust the other (s), it/they adjust only.
Adjust the checked boxes and sliders to get what you want.

Sound--> reading--> speakers and headphones-->--> advanced properties
I think you need to use the "Exclusive Mode" setting on the Advanced tab to keep only one application (another) to capture the sound control. I don't know which application would have priority (or which one you prefer under what circumstances)-I think this is where you will have control over what happens when, for example, you use a Skype headset session and start a game session which (I assume) would use the speakers on the laptop (or external speakers (, depending on your configuration.) See the graphics down.

Note that you can play with a variety of other sound settings (without making any damage) to increase the listening pleasure. Just go slowly and check between the changes to make sure that you do not have too much too fast.
Beware of the "improvements".
For example: The Loudness equalization can make a song sound clean and strong, it could deafen and strangle with the next song and make it difficult to hear. It is the opposite of what we want to do. So desperate, try - if it works, use it, otherwise shut it off.
Right click on the sound icon:
Volume Control Options:
The options resulting:
"Exclusive mode" check or uncheck the box to control the behavior of this device!
It is a setting in the Strait called "Communications" - If you use your laptop to make phone calls, you can adjust this setting as well as others.
Right-click on the icon of your Sound --> click on "Volume Mixer"--> click on the little icon under the word "Applications".
I hope this helps you!
I'm looking to sell my HP Pavilion DV6-6119wm, however, the optical drive does not work. I am able to find the optical drive without problem. What I need is the cover that goes over the optical drive. I can't find one on eBay and HP PartSurfer. Does anyone have an idea where I can get a. Now, it has been broken. I thought that if I replaced it, it would increase the value of the computer. PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks in advance!
I've never seen someone selling a front plate in itself. Why not just buy a whole replacement drive?
Of course as soon as I say that I find the façade on eBay:

Hi, I'm updating the graphics driver for my HP Pavilion Slimline s5728uk.
My current graphics driver is: Intel G41 Express Chipset
I tried to download my last update of the driver from the website of intel but I was unable to because apparently my PC has installed a custom computer driver manufacturer
I downloaded the driver update .exe on the HP site as appropriate, I run the program, and after extracting the files, I'm presented with this message.
"The update was not entirely successful. (259).
I searched many forums and tried to reinstall the update with my disabled anti-virus (McAfee).
No solution to my problem will be greatly appreciated.
P.s. If the system specifications more are required to obtain a solution valid then please ask and I will be happy to provide you with the
If you do not have a discrete video card, then try the suggestion below.
Restart your PC. Remember that you are logged in as system administrator. Right mouse click the HP driver and select run as administrator.
If the above fails, then try the following command from the window RUN:
sfc / scannow---> it will scan your critical system files and try to repair if necessary.
The last thing to try is to uninstall the Intel driver and then start and let Windows reinstall the driver.
My brothers HP Pavilion dv6-6135TX, with specifications, 2nd generation Intel Core i7-2630QM (2 GHz) 4 GB RAM 640 GB HDD AMD Radeon HD 6770 M.
