  Please answer a few questions to refine the question.

  1 are you referring to the "documents" folder in Windows thelibrary?

  2. did you check the exact location of the folder "documents" in Windows 7?

  3. from which operating system you have upgraded to Windows 7?

  4. have you received an error during the upgrade to Windows 7?

  Method 1:
  

  As was the Document and Settings folder in Windows XP Pro in Windows 7 does not have access to any user, as it is a protected file. The folder you're talking has now been replaced in Windows 7 with the USERS folder. And you can also access the folders of documents in libraries. You can search the documents folders in C:/Users/user_name.  If the problem persists, proceed to the next step.

  Method 2:

  $INPLACE. ~ TR and $WINDOWS. ~ Q are leftover folders created by Windows during the upgrade process, if there is no error while upgrading files may be saved in these files.

  Individual records will be hidden by default and you can view the folders to view the folders. You can look in the C: drive.

  -J' created a new folder

  -Use of function F2 key, I renamed the folder "New folder" to the 2015-16'

  -all good then I copied (low-pressure) the files in this folder

  Once done, I decided to rename the folder in different name

  -J' pressed the function F2 key to rename it, but press ESC' to abandon it

  -the file has been renamed to "new folder".

  -J' then pressed F2 to rename it and the file disappeared!

  -J' checked the trash, not there

  It is, but I cut/move the files in the DCIM folder on my USB key.

  I found the culprit.  The 'function' key lock keyboard sound, he was in no hurry.  This Microsoft keyboard allowed this option to disabled and completely forgot it.

  I updated several laptop computers, and something like that doesn't happen. Just if you have deleted the existing partition.

  By the way: there is no recovery partition. Recovering files is saved in the folder HDDRecovery on the second partition of HARD drive.

  I have an Aspire 7551 G. Shortly after the upgrade to Windows 10 my cd/dvd drive has disappeared. If I put a cd in the drive nothing happens. The drive is not even appear on my computer more.   Recently, I've upgraded to 10 64-bit Windows on my Dell Vostro laptop. After update, Bluetooth adapter has disappeared from the Device Manager. I have the old drivers for win 7, but these are not being run as the message said "this application cannot run" or things to that effect. I tried to install the Lenovo drivers as suggested, but this is not successful because he wants me to uninstall existing bluetooth drivers. For the life of me I can't find these anywhere. • Internal hard drive missing after upgrade to Windows 7

  Western Digital internal hard (second drive) drive is not visible after I updated from XP to Windows 7.  The missing SATA drive is visible in the BIOS, but not when Start Menu Windows 7 finishes launching.  Westerm Digital "Data Lifeguard" also does not detect the SATA drive.

  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  Shut down the computer and unplug the SATA cable on the second disc.

  Restart Windows and go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

  If you have Windows 7 drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them,from the card mother/chipset drivers, SATA, LAN, Audio, etc, and so on. Then shut down the computer.

  Now reconnect the cable SATA and Windows startup, it should normally detect a drive is connected and indicate via a popup.

  Then open "Disk Management" and see if the drive is listed.
