Pavilion DV7-3125sf buttons to quick launch DRIVER failed

Hello

recently I formatted my PC "HP pavilion Dv7-3125sf" because of hard drive problems

now I'm on (Windows 7 Professional x 64)

and I downloaded all the drivers and multimedia software of HP 'support & drivers '...

everything is cool otherwise buttons to quick launch... normally if you change the volume there show a Volume bar, now the volume change but there is no ban on Volume...

-How can I download this (in the HP drivers & support there is no software for this)

Thank you!

Hello

Download and install MediaSmart SmartMenu on the link below and save this to your desktop.

FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45001-45500/sp45140.exe

Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When it finished, restart the computer and check if you have now the volume display.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes

    My laptop Specs,

    Its CTO DV7 - 6100 Win7 Home Premium 64-bit running.

I installed quick launch, but I have no idea why this program does not start. Is not in start Panel programs, I don't see shortcuts for this program and even when I go to the option C:/programfiles I see the folder there, but I cannot run it. My laptop has no other quick launch buttons. I see diffferent sign on the (f-keys) only. they work regardless of the quick launch program. I can control the volume and all that, there are also play sign backward forward on the silent f keys. so I was wondering what is the point of quicklaunch installed when even I can't use it?

As far as I can tell there is only a quick launch button on this model, next to the power button, it launches the web browser by default.

Software quick launch is not something, you start, it's a keyboard that burdens filter driver when loads of Windows, no user interaction other than the use of the quick launch of the keys that are available on your model.

  • Pavilion dv7 cannot recognize the CD/DVD drive, no help support "assistant".

Subject says it all.  Since I got this machine, it had problems when the CD/DVD drive becomes invisible and are not accessible by any means.  A reboot has solved in the past, but now, it doesn't seem to work more.  I would like to reinstall the drivers, but guess what, I don't know what kind of player, it is (funny how that works), and Support 'Assistant' is apparently ihcapable to understand the model of this Pavilion dv7 ("product name: loading...") ("now until the heat death of the universe), which does not help either.  Anyone has a better idea than just blindly install the drivers?

    Hello

Drivers for CD/DVD drives comes with Windows (IE with the operating system - it is not the drivers you need to download).  The driver is located in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys.

First, try the automated Microsoft fixit at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

Check if the drive works now.

If the drive does not, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.  Right-click on the first channel and select uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When uninstalled repeat the process for each channel.  Also, if an ATA controller is listed, right click and uninstall it, once again is not removing the drivers if requested. Then, open the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives.  Make a right click the drive (if it shows!) and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.

Restart the computer and let Windows reinstall devices.  Check the disc again.

If it still does not work, re-run the fixit automated Microsoft at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

Then, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar).  Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

  • Pavilion dv7 3162nr: upgrade of updates to driver for laptop after Windows 10

    Hello

I'm looking the latest driver updates for my particular model, and is not on your website.  I have upgraded to Windows 10 and keep the problems with my computer not to wake from standby or hibernation. The only way for me to 'fix' it is to stop completely from the computer, open the applications and all.

I also wonder if I need a BIOS update.

    I have a Pavilion dv7 3162nr

    Serial No. [personal information]

    Product #WA801UA #ABA

    BIOS date version: F03, 22/08/2009

Processor: AMD Turion (tm) II Ultra Dual - Core Mobile M600, 2400 Mhz 2 core 2 logical processors.

Here's all the info I have my specific model.

    Can someone help, please?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem, that you are facing is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific material found in laptops - and unfortunately, there is no HP Win10 laptop driver.  HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.

There is also no update the BIOS of your PC.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the pilots is needs for all features simply do not exist!  To restore all the features, you will need to do a reset to factory using HP recovery media to its original operating system pre-installed.

However, if you are determined to stay with Win10, pilot alternatives, you can continue below are...

You can try to use Windows updates to find the drivers from Microsoft deposits for your device: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03330139

You can also try following the instructions in this thread: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04763435/

If Windows Update doesn't give new drivers, you can pursue alternative which are described in the linked Microsoft Windows Insider community thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/wiki/insider_wintp-insider_devices/how-to-install-and-update-drivers-in-windows-10/a97bbbd1-9973-4d66-9a5b-291300006293

If you then run into trouble, install the drivers through Windows Update, you can try to use of Microsoft Windows Update Troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-windows-update-troubleshooter

    Good luck

  • Pavilion dv7-3020sa, buttons on the top have stopped working.

    Pavilion dv7-3020sa, Windows 7 family (64)

The buttons that control the mute, volume, DVD and WiFi stopped working. This is probably due to a pilot to be deleted, as I recently suffered a minor but annoying virus.

I can't find any reference to drivers of these useful function keys. Someone has any idea how to work again.

    Thank you

  • Pavilion dv7-4000 1 replacement of hard drives with more

I have a dv7-4000 series double portable hard drive running windows 7 64 bit. One of the drives died and I am looking to buy a replacement and want to upgrade, but I'm not sure if I have 2 hard disks of different sizes.

    (1) can I replace factory bad HARD drive with a larger 320? (I'd then 1 factory 320 GB drive and 1 car again, more)

    (2) is the brand of the material of hard drive (Toshiba courses)?

    (3) are there any specific specs I should look for or avoid (ie. rpm, Gbps, etc.)?

Hi wweksjk! : Yes, you can have 2 HD with different capacities for example on my PC of Xion MSI, which was built in 2006, I had 2 HD Western Digital, respectively 160 GB & 250 GB divided into 3 partitions

the brand name is not as important as the number of turns faster the car turns your computer will be faster

also look at the size of the buffer on the disk as well because the more it will speed up the boot time as well

However install a new drive as boot drive will be complex, but if you follow the instructions that come with the HD installer it is possible

for example, a 7200 RPM drive is faster than a 5400 RPM, but not as fast as a model k 10 or 15 k

    Good luck

hope this helps to & help

    Happy holidays!

I am new to Hp support forums, so please excuse the typos. I would like to know if it is possible to have iTunes running in the background and skip, play, and pause songs when I'm in another window for example. Firefox. • Pavilion dv7-6135dx screens on the video driver blue igdpmd64.sys after the platform update KB2670838

Windows Update has delivered platform update KB2670838 Feb. 27.

After that, any time I open Internet Explorer, I get a blue screen of death which calls igdpmd64.sys, which is part of the video driver.

I tried to install the latest video driver HP site was for this machine, even though it is dated as a couple of years.  But he says that I don't have the minimum requirements.   !!??

I tried a restore point before and everything was fine.

I let go of the front through the platform Windows Update again and the same problem.

Now today I have no restore point so I can't go back.

Because now I am simply not using IE, everything else works fine so far.

    Here are my questions...

    1. is this a known problem of someone else?  Is there an article on the best solution anywhere yet?

    2. suggested approaches to solve this?

    3. How can I get the alternative video drivers to try?

3A. HP Site latest since this laptop says that it does not meet the min requirements!

3B. should I even try the following more old?

3 c. pros and cons of try the drivers of Intel or ATI sites instead of on HP site

    4. If after testing things, if I wanted to reinstall my current driver, how 'save', or protect some how now?  (I think THAT it is the original of the 2011 original installation schedule)

    5. How can I do to reinstall the video driver as 'supplied with the machine', for example since the recovery D: partition?

    6. If I end up having to reinstall Windows, how to do that since the recovery partition?

    Hey cfravel,

All major issues! Sorry to hear that you use in the blue screens, but you did a good job of troubleshooting. I'll answer the questions in the order that you asked them.

1 and 2.  Here is a link to the Microsoft Forumwhere there was a similar question. It looks like uninstalling and hiding the implementation update will correct the problem. To uninstall an update,

    • Click Start
    • Program 'type '.
    • Click on programs and features
    • Click View Installed Updates (left)
    • Search for KB2670838.
    • Select this option and click on uninstall.

    To hide the update,

    • Click Start
    • Type "update".
    • Click on Windows Update
    • Click Find updates
    • Click "# important updates available"
    • Search for KB2670838
    • Right-click on it and click on hide (you can always restore hidden updates in the future if you want by clicking on "restore hidden updates" from the main screen of Windows Update.

    3. here is the correct driver for your laptop HP Special Page. I think you're probably already doing it correctly, but just in case. How many times have you tried this driver? Try a couple of times.

3B. Yes you could certainly try the next previous driver.

3 c. the drivers coming from Intel or ATI are almost the same driver in most cases. We invite you to try them because they can always be uninstalled. Just, they are not guaranteed to work properly for your specific model.

    4. There are two versions of the driver for your ATI video chip. These and all future versions will still be available on your driver page. Click on the link under the latest driver that says "available versions" for a complete list of all the versions that are never released.

    5. to reinstall the driver of origin or any other original software that is preinstalled on your laptop, you can use HP Recovery Manager.

    • Click Start
    • Type "HP recovery".
    • Click HP Recovery Manager
    • Click re - install the drivers and software.
    • Scroll through the list and select drivers or software to install. These drivers will still be available on your page of driver as well.

6 here is a link on how to reinstall Windows from the recovery partition. In the links in blue at the top, click on "Recovering from the start (in the system startup) screen". This is a very simple process.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if these suggestions helped (it could help others with similar issues). I'll keep an eye out for your answer!
