Pavilion dv7-4180: LAN - does not connect

Hi all

I myself have set up in a new home and now am using a modem to the computer's LAN connection.

I could not receive a signal when the connection of the modem to my computer, but on wi - fi systems, it works.

Then on another computer, the LAN connection starts a blinking on the modem and there I go, connection

through the LAN.

The first computer that does not have a connection on the LAN-

Q: what could cause that?

Once again, it is very well when instead of a Wi - Fi connection and scoring in just this old LAN connection to my new residence

does not cause it to connect to the top.

Any advice on a particular problem is appreciated.

Hi @AtAF,

Thank you for your query.

I understand that after moving into your new home, you cannot connect to your local network, is another computer.

You are able to connect to hotspots Wi - Fi with your CV.

When I did a search for your model of laptop, I got several results that you forgot to enter the two letters after the model number (example Pavilion dv7-4180us).

How can I find my model number or product number?

On this particular model that Windows 8 is not supported by HP so they do not list the drivers updated for it.

Download or update of software and drivers for HP computers

You did all your Windows updates?

You use the same Ethernet cable that worked with the other computer?

Have you ran the Windows troubleshooting tool?

If you check device manager there is an error on the network card?

Here is a link to HP - troubleshooting Wired Home networks (Windows 8) computers that should help you too.

Thank you for your comments. My roommate eventually find me a partial solution. We uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled an iTunes earlier. He thinks that my computer isn't compatible with the latest version of iTunes. So I have the version iTunes 12.1.1 for Windows (64-bit for older video cards), rather than the 12.1.2. We are still not certain why my computer did not have the latest version (it's probably just old) but I can find my iPhone on iTunes now so I'll just ti let to the old version.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC does not play video streaming

    Hi-

I have a brand new HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC, Intel (r) Core i7-2630QM CPU, 8 GB, Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, Service Pack 1 64-bit. Beats audio, Radeon graphics card

It does not play Netflix streaming - the screen is dark, even though the video seems to play, and there is no sound.

It does not play videos YouTube - video playback but the sound is off. It goes the same for Megavideo and other streaming services.

On the other hand, he plays the music very well on the native Windows Media Player. I have not tried video on my laptop.

I make me quite frustrated and don't know what to do. Does anyone have an idea if this is a problem of HP, beats, or Windows 7 (or a combination of all three)?

At this point, I am considering doing a restore of the entire system and starting from scratch. Any help is appreciated.

    Eihalcon, welcome to the forum.

It seems that you have not installed Adobe Flash Player .  At least, I suggest to start with that as a possible solution.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

  • LAN does not connect when I plug

    Machine model: Hp 4530 s

Operating system: Win 7 64 bit

    Hay

I'm trying to connect to internet through my LAN broadband, but when I plug the machine in, nothing happens.

I have to connect to internet via LAN as my Wifi router is out of use.

When I bought this laptop, I test once LAN and it worked.
Now, nothing is happening, I tried to restart the machine, etc..

Auto updates are on, I could get the updated driver, I don't know about that.

    Help please, thank you.

This is your problem.  You are indeed right, that they are not supposed to look like that.  Each of these axes is a PIN on the ethernet cable.  If one of these pins is not, or not aligned properly, you will receive all the data ever.  This explains why Windows detects ethernet controller (which it does not normally when the hardware has failed), as well as why you do not get the activity lights.

If you had only your laptop for two years and a half months you need to contact HP directly and have the laptop repaired while it is still under warranty.  I have a link that will be useful to get this process started for you.

The link takes you to a form to fill out.  Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the computer warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

How are you Laeadern? Well, if you have not set the tone, you're not alone it seems computers laptops without the function of his Beats from HP does not have the tone control feature, or it is a feature of Windows Ultimate?... I have Windows Professional dv6, select fairly recent edition (bought this summer), I have no dial tone featured in sounds in the control panel.

But in regards to low values and change them, I think you can change thorugh the IDT Audio software.

Go to control panel and click on "IDT Audio Control Panel."

Then on the albums tab, select read and on the left select speakers and headphones

Under the menu that falls under the speakers and headphones select EQ

Now you should see a menu with cursors for various changes in lower values if I'm wrong?

You can also increase the low values in Sound and go to playback devices, select speakers and the headphones and then on the bottom 'Properties' and in the Properties tab improvements and check Bass Boost and hit the settings for Bass Boost and then check what is the frequency of 80 Hz and 3 dB optimization level. Also in the Properties window for helmet speakers and go to the Advanced tab and change the format of "24-bit", 96000 Hz (Studio quality)

If you still don't see not your look of subwoofer by activating your subwoofer try these changes in the following link:

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/5668647-post3614.html

Do not forget to easily cancel your changes changes unlike pressing generally 'Default' as in IDT of equalization you can manually return the sliders back to zero, or select the preset "Default". In the sounds, you can hit the default or change the default settings, good luck and these changes above should least improve your sound quality, I hope this works.

  • Pavilion dv7-3165dx display does not

I have a Pavilion dv7-3165dx and the video has stopped working.  The system starts fine and seems to work normally except no video output is available (backlight doesn't work, just no display).  Leading to this there was quite severe artifacts on the screen before he died (black screen, no output).  I tried to plug in an external monitor and no signal is him either.  When I plug the external monitor backlight is turned off then back on as it normally would when you attach an external monitor, but I get no output on a device (laptop LCD or an external monitor).  I was just wondering if missed me something obvious, but it seems to me that the video card has gone wrong.  I suppose that if it was the LCD or the video cable I'd still get out on the external monitor.  I didn't replace the MB until I didn't know he is there lot of thing.  Thank you.

If you could see output on an external device it would mean than the laptop video solution (chip, processor or discreet card) is functioning normally.  Have you also tried the HDMI output?

Replacing the motherboard will be the only way to solve the problem that there is no discrete graphics module in your laptop.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: HP Pavilion notebook PC 15 does not connect to HDMI

    Hello

If I use a projector (Epson SB03) for watching movies (I use my laptop HP Pavilion 15 for this)

I use an HDMI adapter to get a signal to the projector, and a week ago it stopped connecting.

The thing is, it works on my second laptop, so it's not the projector. the cable or the HDMI port on the Pavilion.

I want to see if anyone knows of patches before you go buy new cables and adapters etc.

    any help would be apreciated.

    Thank you

    ~ Tiye

    Hi Tiye

If you cancel the driver for graphics card AMD to the previous version, the HDMI output works again. That's what I discovered when I couldn't access my Epson projector. There must be a glitch in the new driver that was released by AMD in March 2016.

  • Pavilion dv7-3112: arrows does not work cannot change boot order

    Hi all

Ive just bought a 2nd pavilion laptop in hand I can't reformat. My problem is the arrow keys of the keyboard, to the top to the bottom and right don't work only the arrow to the left. Someone else changed the boot order so I can't return it back to boot from the cd rom without arrows. As I am here in Australia I don't have access to the new keyboards. Can give you any advice. thnx in advance.

    Hello

One option would be to temporarily connect a keyboard external usb.

In addition, if you are trying to boot from an installation disc, I could do this via the Boot Manager menu, rather than set the boot priority in the bios menu because it is often ignored - you can do the following.

Insert the installation disc and the laptop shutdown .

Click next to the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to enter the Boot Menu, and then select the Boot Options Menu ( f9 ).

Use the arrow keys to select the option of CDROM and press ENTER - if you are prompted to "Press any key to continue...". "- make.

    Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion dv7 - 3188cl: HP Pavilion does not connect to Internet (resolved)

I recently got a HP Pavillion Entertainment, model number dv7 - 3188cl, for me to use for a class at the school by my uncle. Before the recovery, everything worked perfectly well. My uncle asked me to reset the computer, so we used the recovery disks that wiped the hard drive successfully but then refuses to reinstall the operating system. Instead of getting another set of recovery disks that I've used a Windows 7 install disc to reinstall the OS and he did so successfully with one flaw, the laptop does not connect to the internet.

I tried to connect via ethernet and it does not find my WiFi network. I suspect his lack a driver and checked for drivers on the HP site but he said that there is none. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and if there is no driver for this I would be grateful if you could tell me where to download from.

    Thanks in advance.

Update: after some search Intel had the good driver needed.

  • HP Pavilion dv6t-7000: Ralink RT5390R wireless adapter does not connect to 802.11n network

I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000, equipped with the Ralink RT5390R wireless adapter.  For the life of me, I can't get it to connect to my home network when implemented as 802.11n.  They connect other devices. If I change my router 802.11 g, but no other change, doe HP connect. But if I return the router to 802.11n, HP sees the network, and it correctly identifies as a 802.11n network, but does not connect.

    The router is a D - Link DIR-615 (N300 2.4 ghz)

    Woo-Hoo.

Found a solution.  Both HP and windows said I had the most current drivers, but this HP forum had a link to a newer driver.  Installed and it worked.

  • Pavilion G6 does not connect to the cellular device

I have a Pavilion G6 with Windows 7 OS, which is used as a mobile data terminal. I am trying to use my iPhone Verizon 5 c to connect to a hotspot. All my other HP laptops connect to this phone without problem, but the G6 does not connect to the internet via the phone with cable, wifi or bluetooth. The G6 recognizes the phone and shows it in "unspecified devices." I tried everything to get it to connect without success.

    Hey RC800,.

    Thanks for the info.

I forgot to ask before, can you tell me the exact model specifications what do you use? For more information on the search for your model and product numbers, click here: How can I find my model number or product number?

If the laptop connects to other devices, we can say that the material is very good. If he does not see the iPhone theres only a few things you can try. The adapter in your laptop is probably 802.11 g capable which is the minimum requirement for the hotspot iPhone, so we can exclude.

    Please, try the following:

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

    Reinstall the NIC drivers:
    1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
    2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
    3. expand network adapters.
    4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
    6. restart your PC and test.

    Test another iPhone connection:
Explicit. This will tell us if it's only an incompatibility with a phone or any iPhone hotspot. Try a hotspot Android will help narrow things down as well.

Let me know if this helps.
