Pavilion dv7-4269wm: Board battery replacement

The laptop has been damaged, likely dropped, while I was out of town. He would not turn the installed battery or with the battery removed and the applied voltage. A friend of my wife who didn't watch over machine computer repair and managed to get to power up with the battery removed. He told me that I could continue to use the machine, but that battery card was broken and when the battery has been installed it would short-circuit power. It also noted that there are some capacitors that are bulging in the corner where the ethernet port. He has not been too concerned about default capacitors but doesn't mention that area would get hot. The region gets pretty hot to cause a thermal cut-out when used without a dull chill. I was told that the jury of the battery could not repaired or replaced. I was wondering if there is a way to repair this machine. Thanks in advance for your time.

Yes there is no separate part called a Board of the battery. The battery plugs into the motherboard. Here is the Manual:

    Hello

You must take the RTC battery and the wire stuck on it, of the Board of Directors:

Withdrawal of the real-time clock battery

Before you start: follow all precautionswhen removing and replacing components.

    Remove the battery.

    1. Loosen the six screws Phillips P1 in captivity which fix the accessory cover to the bottom of the laptop.
    2. Use your finger or a flat blade tool to lift the edge of the cover of the accessory and remove it.
    3. Unplug the cable from the system board RTC battery.
    4. At the same time press the clip that keeps the RTC battery at the base, slide the RTC battery forward. The RTC battery is also attached to the motherboard with double-sided tape.

    The real-time clock battery change

    1. Slide the RTC battery in the clip integrated into base housing.
    2. Reconnect the cable to RTC battery to the system board.
    3. The accessory cover on the housing of the base of the toes.
    4. Tighten the 6 Phillips head screw P1 in captivity.

  • Pavilion dv7-4269wm 8.1 update problem

Try to update windows 8 to 8.1 and Pavilion dv7-4269wm does not start in windows. failed to retrieve

    Hello MechPilot,

Thank you for your kind cooperation.

After the other pure full install win 8 and diligently do all the updates and patches. And verification of the latest drivers for Windows 8.  Everything works great.  Then came victory 8.1 installation update of the windows store.  No luck. Same problem as before. Windows 8.1 will not work. He went into "Recovery screen. It seems that windows has not loaded correctly"once AGAIN.

Chatted with the technology from Microsoft that has managed to take control of my laptop. He ran a scan to find corrupted system files. 100% OK.   My activation key has been authorized.  He has tried several things but was unable to start correctly in windows. The second Microsoft technology repeated the same tests, but it also seemed perplexed.  Why it run ok with 8 victory, but not with the victory. 8.1 (only in safe mode)

I asked if it was possible that when windows 8.1 updates, he would check for the latest drivers and load a new video driver that is not compatible with this laptop. Possible.

Then I disabled the graphics card in the device (in safe mode) Manager.  Restarted the computer and windows 8.1 came to life, with no error message. But in lower resolution.  Windows find no driver loads a generic driver of the weak reference that worked. Then I went to the web site of the graphics card and downloaded the "Windows 8" driver!   Windows 8.1 NOT THE MOST CURRENT driver. Of course, the latest video driver will not work with this laptop. The next earlier version seems to work very well.

Thanks to the support of fine hand-holding technology at Microsoft and your fine concern and assistance, I don't give up, and something finally worked. Wooooopee!

Keep your good work and thank you so much.

Well, my method is basically loose drivers (except that is to download Windows Update) unless something no longer works. For example, if the sound stops working, you can download a new audio driver. I hope this helps.

    HP battery alert-

... your internal battery needs to be replaced...

    Internal battery (601)

Sometimes, I need to start my car.

I bought it two years ago. I just program the hard drive a week ago, causing the original one crashed badly.

Could you please tell me what specific battery should I buy?

I read in another post for the Pavilion dv6 you just need to keep it pluged to replace intyernal battery like in a flaslight. Is it OK for my model?

I would also like to know if the problem to cut down on its own, it is linked with the battery warning or if it is another question.

Please notify. I use my laptop to work ar House, and I can't afford to buy a new one now.

    Thanks in advance

  • Pavilion dv7 WC159EA #ABU: keyboard replacement on HP Pavilion dv7-3111ea

My keyboard is faulty and replace it. However, keyboards for my specific model are incredibly expensive. I was wondering if I buy a keyboard for hp dv7-1000, it would be compatible? Specificaly this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Silver-UK-Keyboard-For-HP-Pavilion-DV7-1000-P-N-PK1303X0480-/400859299...

I'm out of warranty, that's why I'm looking at buying. If it's not compatible, could you let me know of another model that is compatible? Thank you!

If you are in the United Kingdom, this is the part you are looking for:

516356-031 white molded keyboard intended for the United Kingdom

You could install a keyboard with other (countries) location for the same model, but you can't use keyboard to other series with different reference numbers.

    US keyboard:

516356-001 white moulded keyboard for use in the United States

These are expensive outside the United States for a stupid reason. HP itself is out of stock. I found one for like $27 from a US seller on eBay. Do you have someone ready to ship to the United States?

    Hello

The SMART error would certainly indicate the hard drive is faulty and should be replaced.  The first thing you can do is to back up all your personal files etc as soon as you can.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

750 GB hard drive for laptop.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 53 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVDs to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - see the document here.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion dv7-4080us: upgrade or replacement for dv7 4080us video graphics card

I want to know if I can upgrade the memory of my HP dv7-4080us graphics card. He did an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1 GB of DDR3 memory with up to 3738 MB total dedicated memory graphics card. What this means? I can put more memory or repalce the card? If so, what card should or can I get?

There is no 'card' you might be imagining. The video is one of the dishes chips soldered to the motherboard. You already have the best video system available for dv7-4000 series of laptops, so there is no way upward to something better.

  • Pavilion dv7-6c60us: issue of replacement to the Pavilion dv7-6c60us cooling fan

Hi, so I was very sick, and having a TON of medical procedures made and until they are made my phone is my lifeline and my entertainment, etc.  So a few months back I started getting the dreaded cooling fan error 90 b at random, but now it's every time you start, I built workstations for 3D animation and editing of film/TV (which I do) from scratch and I replaced my previous laptop motherboard Dell, but it's been a while and I'm mixes returns on the research of some saying that it is easy to just replace the fan, pop the switch out, replace it and you are made to these step by step guides, saying: he basically have to go all the way to the motherboard to replace just the fan.  I wanted to just go straight to the horses mouth so to speak and know, because given my health unstable and "convalescent" until I got better in VERY VERY RURAL NC it is now a doubtful 'authorized repair shop' which is little far from me, I wonder if it is only involved should I just let - keeping in mind , I have medical bills piling up and a lot of know how myself, but maybe not the stamina, or should I hard outside - year how "hard" is to just replace the fan.  The left side of the laptop last week became really hot to the touch, whereas before there were 90 b but there was no significant difference and the unit still works, and that's all that I have here PC / computer wise and cannot not simply run out and purchase all replacement until after I'm better that might be 4 months or more? Help?

Replace a fan in a book involves a complete disassembly of the laptop.

If you don't have the patience and thoroughness to disassemble and reassemble then the laptop to a State because of your physical condition, I would recommend having a shop to do it for you. Consider cloning hard drive to a storage device before you leave the shop to have it.

    need help

    Hello saintamand,

If Windows 8 drivers are available for your laptop, they will be posted here.

More than likely HP won't to material support for Windows 8 on any system purchased before October 1, 2011.  Most of the Windows 7 drivers work in Windows 8.

Check out this page to see if your computer has been tested by HP with Windows 8.

You can run the Upgrade Wizard, which will scan your PC and report on what is currently installed on your PC is compatible with Windows 8.  This guide was updated for Windows 8 provides lots of information which is needed for all those planning the upgrade.
    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • HP Pavilion dv7. Primary (internal) (601) battery is low.

HP Pavilion dv7. At startup, the message says that primary (internal) (601) battery charge is low and must be replaced.

The PC works normally on the supply network, so do I really need to replace the battery, being that I still use the PC powered by the power supply.

If I really need to replace the battery, where can I get replacement of and how much will cost replacement?

    Thank you very much

    TC48

    Hello

Just to clarify, the 601 error relates to your main battery of notebooks (not the RTC cell on the system board).

If you are satisfied with the machine running on full power, there is no problem with that and you can just remove the battery.

If you do not want to replace the battery at a certain time, you can order a new through HP parts store or (and), just google the full model number of your laptop dv7 series including the battery of the term.

    Kind regards
