  I think about adding a 2nd. hard drive in my HP Pavilion dv7 - 4083cl.

  The current drive of 500 GB at 7200 RPM will be the 2nd. drive and a new SSD will be 1. drive (System and boot).

  You know the chipset specifications to determine what version of your laptop SATA drive will manage transfer speeds to.

  Your laptop computer has a chipset Mobile Intel series 5 (HM55) who can run that hard disks to the SATA II transfer speed.

  Not until you get to new Intel 6 Series chipsets and can they run SATA III drives to SATA III speed.

  First of all, you have established that other devices connect on the same network without hassle. Great job on this point. Kudos to you. It's always a privilege to work with customers technically very, and I am really impressed with your technical expertise.

  Please take a few steps to try to resolve the problem.

  Open windows control panel, open Power Options and next to your currently selected power plan, click Change plan.  In the next window, click on change advanced power settings.  In the next window, open 'wireless adapter settings' and then open 'power saving Mode'.  Next to on battery: click on the current setting and a drop down menu will appear - select 'Maximum Performance '.  Do the same for the sector.  Then click on apply and then Ok to save the settings.

  Restart the computer and see if this contributed to the issue.

  Also open Device Manager. Go to the network adapters and expand it. Select the network adapter for your device by clicking right on wireless and click Properties. Then go to the power management option and uncheck the box that says" allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. In addition, check the box that says "Allow this device to wake the computer"

  Please uninstall and reinstall the device manager network drivers.

  Please update the bios and drivers wifi from this link http://hp.com/drivers , you have to select the country and language. Then enter the product # of the unit and follow the on-screen instructions to update. You can use HP support assistant to do as well.

  Hello. I want to change my real disk (SATA 2) for one SSD (SATA 3), but I don't know if my laptop (Pavilion DV6-6b13ss) fully supports SATA 3 connections.

  I read the manual and it speaks only of the SATA 2 (3 Gbps) connections, but I think he is referring to the factory hard drive, because the chipset (Mobile Intel® HM65 Express) will support the SATA 3 connections.

• Pavilion 23-b244 AiO: the system recovery media does not support this computer

  I had a power outage (1 TB) HD material on me about a week ago and replaced by a (500 GB) SSD, not purchased from HP.  I then ordered the recovery disc from HP for this particular serial number.  Whenever I boot on the recovery discs, I get "this computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media. "The Minsize argument in the instructions to build on the DVD file provides a minimum of 140 GB, so I don't think I have a new smaller drive system is the question.

  Last month I have updated the firmware to v80.08, and in the bios "product name", 'SKU number', 'serial number of the chassis' fields are all empty.  In "System ID", everythign is empty except UUID and family name.

  I think that's why I'm not able to boot to recovery discs?

  Any help would be appreciated, I have use this computer for quickbooks and have bee unable to do accounting for a week and a half.

  Figured it out! On my Pavilion, you press Ctrl + A in the bios then click on 'System IDs'. Then I was able to type in the ID to build my recovery and support the byte to feature on the sticker under my machine. F10 to save then the recovery media recognized the computer properly and booted up!

  On both machines, if I check the version of product updates, HPSA scans for a minute or two and then warns the following-'server connectivity issues were found.  Please try again later. "If I have HPSA will search for messages and updates, nothing happens except that the analysis runs and runs indefinitely.  If you stop the scan, closed HPSA but then re - will not open unless the computer is restarted.

  HP may have a server problem, judging by some of the other jobs on HPSA and scanning.  However, this type of problem has developed before (years), and that could be a problem of jamming one of the newest latest updates Windows or Windows Defender antivirus definitions.

  I haven't the time to uninstall the updates to solve problems.  I leave alone HPSA and see if that sorts it.  If this isn't the case, HPSA can always be uninstalled.  You can get updates from the driver through Device Manager.

  Very busy at work.  I'll check in a few days to see if someone has something new to report.

  Just ran Support Assistant on two pavilions.  Connected to the server to check updates and device updates and messages.  Worked well.  In my case, the question seems to have been resolved - to that for now.

  I can't let anyone use this information directly or indirectly from an act of Hararm (described here), so please... There is a very good news for everyone who is still working on it and try to make it work. "I managed to install Windows XP Professional 32-bit/64-bit on the system including the drivers Intel AHCI/RAID 'modded' ' in the installation CD, I downloaded from win-raid.com/t11f23-Modded-Intel-AHCI-and-RAID-Drivers.html they work very well for Intel 8 and the previous series. But you must include the version of the specific drivers (32 bit / 64 bit) in TXT Mode using nLite (tutorial). And remember NOT to hit F6 in the beginning of the installation or the drivers will not load. And even if Windows XP was not only supports the boot from VHDs, I managed to install it on a virtual hard drive and it starts in native mode on the system, using this tutorial. And I even found the official driver for Intel 4th gen HD Graphics on Windows XP, but it did not work for me.
