  Hello, just got my HP Pavilion dv7 - 6163cl Entertainment Notebook PC and it works like a charm, but I had this issue when I was checking the system, it displays only 1 HDD with 495 GB (C when he was supposed to be 1 TB (2 x 500 GB accordly to the web page where I got it) also when I run the HP Support Assistant it shows 2 lines on the section or hard drives) :

  So... does really have 2 HARD drive? If this is the case, then how can I use 2nd HARD drive, or to be visible in the my computer window?

  Also... I tried to play games and everything worked fine, but I installed the game "Amnesia: The Dark Descent ' and it stops instantly, I read on the web and they talk about updated drivers or uninstall... Could someone tell me what to do to get this game to work? Thanks in advance.

  Go to the computer in the start menu and right-click on it and select 'manage '... Select disk management and see if you see 2 hard drives here. You may need to assign a drive (aka "mount") letter the second drive by right-clicking and selecting "assign drive letter" in order to access it through Windows Explorer. Frankly, HP should have done that at the factory, but if the drive is present and active, you should still be able to do it yourself. It will look something like this you should have a disk of the same size 0 and a disc 1. Your Windows drive will be more sections (partitions) and the second or the storage disk is probably just a large partition:

  I reinstall windows 7 on my Pavilion DV7, however I stopped by here.

  Therefore, I'm unable to install Windows 7 in all.

  Just for information.

  1. I installed Windows 7 Home Premium x 64

  2. the ony my key usb and CD files have been verified to be exactly the same files that Microsoft Distributed originally by hash SHA-1 and MD - 5 tests.

  3. my hard drives are in working condition, but are not recognized by the computer.

  I am sure that the 'pilot' mentioned are Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver.

  I think that one I need is version 10.6.0.1002. Mentioned here:

  Oh, I think I know the error.

  I'm installing from a USB key, but the computer is not recognize it once it starts.

  On browse, it shows a CD drive C: / and a X: / walk, nothing that represents my USB.

  I'll have to use a DVD to install it then.

  Our company bought an EliteBook 8560p year last for a Manager. He died last December and the family gave us his address of company. The EliteBook has protection of fingerprints fingerprint and password on startup (but no disk encryption).   You can:

  1. use the unlock code you generated to enter BIOS

  2 disable all passwords that are enabled in the Security menu of BIOS.

  3. If the request for current password - enter the unlock code

  4. for the new password, simply press the ENTER key

  5. repeat the same thing to check the password column.
