Pavilion dv7: Hp Pavilion dv7, synaptics pointing device do not scroll after windows 10

After the upgrade to windows 10 my mouse does not scroll. I've updated the driver, without help. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, no help. I drove back from the driver, any help, I don't reupdated the driver no help, I deleted the system whole synaptics and it not redownloaded from their Web site, no help, updating the driver again, no help. I then went live... help the technician did an update again... without help. I went to the live help again and technician did a cleaning/repair of the system from the command prompt, no help (I then abandoned with live help) and yes the scrolling option is checked in the settings. Please can someone help me.

abracadbra ive got mine working!  is a long time try this then try to stay with me and forgive me if I get a lil confusing...

go to your add/remove programs and remove the synaptics program

you have to restart... it will say: it will not work or possibly used... your fixed points of the mouse and click on

Once it's done and your back on the desktop click your search in the web area and windows at the bottom left at the beginning

type restore and click on Recovery Manager

under I need help immediately, click the driver reinstall (second option down in the first column)

follow the signs from there

or sorry for instructions long but you can also use the hp support assistant, click diagnostics and tools, keyboard and mouse from the evil that pulls up which one is troubling you and it gives you a way I tried and did not work so I said no and he gives me the second option which is above... Please let me know if it works for you...

    I hope someone can help.

Just bought this laptop and for some reason, I get an error message come saying the Synaptics Pointing Device does not work properly. The touchpad loses some functions and a warning appears informing me of this. I can still use it, but disappears from the icon in the taskbar with the flashing blue dot - when I go into the control panel it says the driver and he asks if I installed another ps/2 pointing device driver

Looking forward to any help you can give.

Suggest that you reinstall simply touch pad drivers. Maybe new version?
So, just uninstall drivers, restart your computer, reinstall the drivers.

Drivers are located on the download page of European drivers.

  • Synaptics pointing device does not work on my Satellite L50

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50, only bought 3 weeks ago, the touchpad has virtually stopped working. I can only move the mouse briefly when I first turn it on, and then it stops working.

Scroll still work and selecting, but I can't move the pointer it's just frozen. A usb connected wireless mouse works, I have searched all over the internet to do this and it seems a very common problem, but I still have to find a solution. I downloaded the drivers updated for it, and it worked a little longer than normal - 2 minutes, then nothing.

I can take it back to pc world I guess, but the problem seems so common, I just thought that there may be something else I can try before going through the hassle of return to the store.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

    Thank you very much

    Michelle

    Hi Michelle

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. Have you checked all the settings of Synaptics to see if everything is properly activated?

Since when did you notice this problem?
What you can try to do is to roll back OS tool of restoration of a few days back when everything was OK with system. The last option and also final test you can do is to reinstall the original operating system and test it once more using the laptop with the factory settings.

By the way: If you want to keep this notebook create recovery media using pre-installed recovery media creation tool.

  • Satellite C660 - Synaptics pointing device does not work

    I use a Satellite C660 32-bit laptop.
After that uninstall and removal of a large number of unnecessary programs to free up space I found that disc my touchpad not working more.

It won't scroll up and down, left and right more.
So I don't know if I deleted this program by mistake. Can't do a system restore either because that which is also eliminated.

    Help, please...

I assume that you have not disabled the device or damaged Windows installation - the mouse is as fundamental as the keyboard and would need some removal of smart to 'delete '.

Have you checked the State of the key in the Device Manager?
You have a small button near the touch pad that turns off?
If missing just the driver, then, you have 3 options

    1. click on 'My product to support' near the top of this page and follow / complete the pages to find the Toshiba touch pad driver

    2. access the synaptec site and download the driver

3 go to Uscrybe.com, a synaptic site and download the driver - more features than 1 or 2

  • Satellite A100 - Synaptics pointing device does not

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A100-062, that is around the age of 10 months. The other day while I was using the laptop touchpad no longer meets nothing that do about it, including the mouse buttons. I did a system restore and then used the toshiba recovery disc but nothing solved the problem. Then I stopped using it for a few days I was getting ready to return to the shop, but beforehand, I thought I would try something. Before I had tried something I booted up it to make sure that the mouse was still not working. However, it was and I did not anything else to fix.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if you have how many times it happened, and whether or not it is repairable.

Thanks for any help in this matter.

    Hello

If the touch pad does not respond after clean installation of the operating system (DVD release) there must be a hardware problem. I recommend you contact the service provider authorized in your country. After 10 months the warranty should still be valid. Let check the touchpad and if there is a hardware problem it will be exchanged free of charge.

  • Turn off touchpad Synaptics pointing device disabler

I have a Windows7 64 bit HP Pavilion g6-1207sa (product # A3Y69EA #ABU) that has the touchpad from Synaptics pointing device.
Apart from hitting the touchpad maybe incorrectly (? I don't remember exact model), the touchpad is disabled [diagonal red line in Silver box]. The only method to re-enable the touchpad is to run the mouse program; then using the ctrl + tab keys to get on the synaptics pointing device settings tab and Enable.
Is there a way to turn off this disabling so no matter what/how I treat the touchpad, it will always stay enabled?

Hello lalithjoseph.  I understand that your touchpad keeps disabling.

You should have a small LED light or a rectangle in the upper left corner of your keyboard.  If you double quickly, tap this box, you can enable/disable the touchpad.  This would avoid having to navigate the menus without the mouse.

I don't know of any method to turn off the option to disable the touchpad.

According to me, making sure that the BIOS and the touchpad drivers are up-to-date is good solutions to try.

Here is a link to your latest BIOS.

    Here's the latest touchpad driver.

Let me know the result.  I wish you a nice day!

  • Equium P200 - using Synaptics Pointing Device - keeps minimizing my screen

Just bought the laptop for all devices must be updated.

The touchpad uses the Synaptics pointing device and often closes my screen or it minimises when I'm with her, be it in my email account or online.

You know not so relevant but have installed Vista. Have tried to look up this loophole, but no luck so far. Any help would be appreciated gatefully.

    Thanks in advance.

If you bought your laptop a few days ago the first thing we do is to check all relevant parameters and understand this tochpad works. You will see that the touchpad has many different settings and I am sure that you accidentally use some of them.

There is certainly no fault. I have the same laptop model and do not have this defect. Maybe you should disable tap zones.

    Hello

It looks like the driver for the touchpad stopped working.
I have no idea why, but I recommend that you install the driver once more.

Visit the page of the Toshiba UE driver.
Select your notebook series and download the touchpad driver.
Then unzip the driver package and install the driver.
Reboot the laptop and test again.
