Pavilion dv7, tpm chip enable - not-possible or not?

HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx laptop. This laptop has TPM or not? bought this machine about a year ago. didn't want to turn on Bitlocker and Bitlocker-to-go at the time I intend to upgrade to win 7 ultimate/Enterprise.

When I got to the hardening of the BONES, I checked the BIOS - but could not find the option to turn on the TPM. I read many pages of documents to support, so far have not found any mention of TPM being on the MB. I'm seriously believe that it wasn't an installed feature.

Normally the TPM is not installed in the notebook computer or consumer

This feature is part of the PC company the of except in the two countries where it is illegal to have RPM installed on a PC.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-3170ez: volume indicator not showing when the volume control

    Hello

I own a Pavilion dv7-3170ez and when I change the volume using the slider button in the volume on top of the keyboard, the volume is adjusted accordingly, but no volume indicator appears on the display.

Previously, when you adjust the volume, a speaker icon with a cursor jumped in the middle of the screen showing the current volume level.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows Update and HP update shows that I have the latest version of the software. Also, I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

Note: the touch buttons on top (volume, speaker and enable wireless, etc) stopped working a few days after the disappearance of the sound meter, I have fixed that by connecting battery power and disconnectiong for awhile. However, the indicator is still not displayed. Don't know if this is related (I guess not).

    Thank you

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC does not play video streaming

    Hi-

I have a brand new HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC, Intel (r) Core i7-2630QM CPU, 8 GB, Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, Service Pack 1 64-bit. Beats audio, Radeon graphics card

It does not play Netflix streaming - the screen is dark, even though the video seems to play, and there is no sound.

It does not play videos YouTube - video playback but the sound is off. It goes the same for Megavideo and other streaming services.

On the other hand, he plays the music very well on the native Windows Media Player. I have not tried video on my laptop.

I make me quite frustrated and don't know what to do. Does anyone have an idea if this is a problem of HP, beats, or Windows 7 (or a combination of all three)?

At this point, I am considering doing a restore of the entire system and starting from scratch. Any help is appreciated.

    Eihalcon, welcome to the forum.

It seems that you have not installed Adobe Flash Player .  At least, I suggest to start with that as a possible solution.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

  • HP Pavilion DV7 4121er Wi - Fi upgrade possible?

I have HP Pavilion DV7 4121er with Ralink RT3090 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter onboard. This works only with 2.5 Ghz and 150Mbps 802.11n networks limited. So, is it possible to replace this Wi - Fi card lame 5\5Ghz 2, support and 300 Mbps speed wireless to another?

    Hello:

It could be one, but I can't say 100% for sure.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02666747.PDF

I see the module 4322 Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN, which is a dual-band card, but note that it states that it is only for the dv7 -40portable xx.

I wonder if they meant dv7-4xxx, or are the only good card for dv-4000 series, but not the series 4100-4900?

If no, there is no other.

You must only get a card support with HP number thereon, or it won't work. Your laptop does not even start until you remove the unsupported card.

If you want to take a chance on the map above, make sure you get the card with the part number that will work for the country or region of the world in which you live.

If you live in the USA/Canada, you can order the map on the link below. HP can take a return to this topic, if this does not work, but I can't guarantee it.  You will need to talk to them.

  • Replacement keyboard on Pavilion DV7-7012NR-backlit or not?

I spilled water on my HP laptop and now the keyboard doesn't work. Everything looks very good, and it works very well when a USB keyboard is connected.

So, I'm looking to replace the keyboard. I had a hard time finding a good game, but... HP part Surfer said that my laptop has part #681981-001 or 698782-001, "Island style paint black backlit keyboard." I found this article on ebay and elsewhere.

BUT my original keyboard was not backlit. However, I am sure that there is a connector to the Ribbon backlit. See photo (finger pointing on this one).

    A feedback?

This is the original factory specifications for your HP Pavilion dv7-7012nr Entertainment Notebook computer. According to the specification, this model left the factory with a "full-size island-style keyboard backlit with numeric keypad" installed.

    Of the HP Partsurfer.

681981-001 keyboard ISK PT BL BLK U.S. (ISK = keyboard style of the island, PT = paint, BL = backlit, BLK = Black)
698782-001 Island style paint black backlit keyboard Win8 - U.S.

    From the MSG for this model;

681981-001 keyboard ISK PT BL BLK U.S. (ISK = keyboard style of the island, PT = paint, BL = backlit, BLK = Black)

Part # 681981-001 is the correct keyboard, and it must match with the part number of the existing keyboard. This was the original keyboard comes with Windows 7. The 698782-001 keyboard is not listed in the MSG and probably was shipped later, when Windows 8 was introduced.

If you are prompted for a driver to support the hard drive during the installation of Windows? It's because the Manager of storage on this laptop isn't RAID, AHCI and Windows 7 isn't this RAID driver available on the installation disc. But fear not only intel makes the driver available here:

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/24779/Intel-rapid-storage-technology-Intel-RST-RAID-driver

You need the F6 driver for 32 or 64 bit one correct installation that you do.  If 64-bit, you must f6flpy-x 64.zip. These are compressed files (.zip). Download the .zip to a different computer and extract the .zip to a USB key and when you reach him point the Windows installation when it is asked for a driver, navigate to the location where the files were extracted from the thumb drive. This should allow you to proceed with the Windows installation.

I have no virus or malware on my laptop

Help, please... It's driving me crazy...

    Thank you

    Hey Midsyork,

Looks like you run Digital Persona SimplePass flavor.

Two things to try, in order:

    • Hard reset
    • Remove and reinstall the validity sensor driver

    Hard Reset:

Sometimes, all you need to do is the computer suddenly.  This method works for a variety of connection and "glued" program issues.

    • Disconnect all the external devices first.
    • Remove the AC power and battery
    • Press and hold the power button while in the minus 30 seconds
    • Reinstall the power supply for the first start only * see Note
    • Power on - connect
    • Next time you shut down the system, replace the battery.

    * Note: You can ignore the little battery aside.  If you wish, replace the battery the first time and do it with her.

    Check the software...

If it still does not work, go ahead.

    • Control Panel > Device Manager > biometric devices > Validity Sensor > uninstall > delete
    • Reboot ...

    Validity Sensor V2.1.0.2

    • Install the validitysensorDriverinstallationpackage: it if called sp*.exe - the package will be most likely located in the downloads folder.  If you have control of "Admin", you can highlight the package and "double-click on ' to install it, otherwise just right-click, select"Run as Administrator"and install.

This can kick things hard enough to restore the Digital Persona software.  You can hit him harder, but first...

    ======================================================================================

    What about the rest...

You could consider running a full system scan.  I'm a demon for this.  I like a healthy file system.  It cannot solve the problem, but it will ensure that the issue is not a messed up system files, which CAN cause all sorts of unpleasant and troubled issues.  You do not really have to 'look' like a mother hen during analysis, look at the logs or 'DO' something.  He's going to take care of yourself and try to fix what it can.  The only time where that must involve it is things do not go well...  Is there a doc to help at the end to tell you what does this thing.  It is not harmful and, unless your system is broken, and it's going to die anyway, it will only make things better than they are now.

    scannow SFC

Analyze and fix the system.  The sfc/scannow command. who will do - it will scan the operating system, looking for corrupted files and inconsistencies; He will replace or repair everything he can.  If it finds corrupted programs or libraries, it will try to correct them.

    • Start menu > all programs > Accessories > right click on guest > select ' run as administrator'
    • In the command prompt window, type (or copy / paste) sfc/scannow , and then press enter.

(Note the space between sfc and the ' / '.)

The sfc scan will report its findings and you can look at the results:

    • Open an command prompt (it doesn't have to be as an administrator):
    • Use the command copy to create a copy of file readable by the output:

    %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log copy %userprofile%\desktop\cbs.txt

If "scannow" does not properly complete, try running:

    SFC /verifyonly

Copy the results to a text file, extract the output file in Notepad and look for errors that could not fix the full scan.

Help file for the System FIsland Checker command:

The Windows Vista or Windows 7 System File Checker tool

  • Pavilion dv7-4180: LAN - does not connect

    Hi all

I myself have set up in a new home and now am using a modem to the computer's LAN connection.

I could not receive a signal when the connection of the modem to my computer, but on wi - fi systems, it works.

Then on another computer, the LAN connection starts a blinking on the modem and there I go, connection

    through the LAN.

The first computer that does not have a connection on the LAN-

    Q: what could cause that?

Once again, it is very well when instead of a Wi - Fi connection and scoring in just this old LAN connection to my new residence

does not cause it to connect to the top.

Any advice on a particular problem is appreciated.

    AtAF

    Hi @AtAF,

    Thank you for your query.

I understand that after moving into your new home, you cannot connect to your local network, is another computer.

You are able to connect to hotspots Wi - Fi with your CV.

When I did a search for your model of laptop, I got several results that you forgot to enter the two letters after the model number (example Pavilion dv7-4180us).

How can I find my model number or product number?

On this particular model that Windows 8 is not supported by HP so they do not list the drivers updated for it.

Download or update of software and drivers for HP computers

You did all your Windows updates?

You use the same Ethernet cable that worked with the other computer?

Have you ran the Windows troubleshooting tool?

If you check device manager there is an error on the network card?

Here is a link to HP - troubleshooting Wired Home networks (Windows 8) computers that should help you too.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 - 2277cl "blocked, do not load"-HELP!

    HP support team,

First of all, I really want to thank you for holding this type of support.  I have technical questions for laptop and it happens to be your guy - for Expert days how unfortunately had the chance of me!

I have a 4 years old HP Pavilion dv7 - 2277cl, Windows 7 operating system. I had a problem for months now with my recharge battery.  Whenever I plug in the AC adapter, it is said "plugged in, not charging."  For the last two months, I was able to get away, stirring the adapter so that it can load, even if my method 'all or nothing' does more work.  I opened the Device Manager and updated the three drivers under "Stacks" (which were all updated), tried to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control and restart my laptop (nothing has changed). I tried to stop the laptop and tried to turn it back on with only the AC adapter is plugged (who doesn't) and even calibrated my battery - who only left until the point where I have a charge of 5%, and it has connected for more than 12 hours...

So, somehow the battery IS loading, but only when the laptop is turned off. While the battery icon is always displayed "blocked, do not load," the battery changed miraculously since a 38-78% more than a day to load (stopcock).  Ditto for when I calibrated the battery somehow it responsible for a charge of 5% of weakness, but full of hope...

The culprit would be the battery, the power adapter or the laptop itself? I am a broke college student so it would strain my wallet to get help in the store, I am looking for help!

    Desperate and concerned,
    Princess of pop corn

If you turn on the laptop without the power adapter there is of course a mistake with the AC adapter. Substitute must address your situation.

  • Pavilion dv7-3165dx display does not

I have a Pavilion dv7-3165dx and the video has stopped working.  The system starts fine and seems to work normally except no video output is available (backlight doesn't work, just no display).  Leading to this there was quite severe artifacts on the screen before he died (black screen, no output).  I tried to plug in an external monitor and no signal is him either.  When I plug the external monitor backlight is turned off then back on as it normally would when you attach an external monitor, but I get no output on a device (laptop LCD or an external monitor).  I was just wondering if missed me something obvious, but it seems to me that the video card has gone wrong.  I suppose that if it was the LCD or the video cable I'd still get out on the external monitor.  I didn't replace the MB until I didn't know he is there lot of thing.  Thank you.

If you could see output on an external device it would mean than the laptop video solution (chip, processor or discreet card) is functioning normally.  Have you also tried the HDMI output?

Replacing the motherboard will be the only way to solve the problem that there is no discrete graphics module in your laptop.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c43cl: VT is not enabled, but is enabled in the BIOS settings

    Hello!

So, I have Virtualbox. I want to install Windows XP 64-bit in there. I own a copy. Before that I have upgraded to Windows 8, there was an option for 64-bit. Now, there is not.

SAME FACTORY OF HARDWARE/SOFTWARE AS, EXCEPT NOW WINDOWS 8.

PS: An Information System .nfo file is located here. Please, if there is no serial number I ask you not to use them for illegal purposes, for example, HP supports, saying that my computer is stolen, etc.

EDIT: Sorry for the confusion, I also want to know if I need to do something to get Virtualbox allow VT technology. It does not now. Also, I read that 64-bit requires a VT

Hyper-V prevents the installation, execution of many other technologies of virtualization on Windows 8, so I suggest you to try and disable the Hyper-V technology.
