Pavilion Elite M9340f: Replacement hard drive

Hard disk 750 MB Seagate (Baracuda 7200.11) is upward (lock or blue screen with one his jump).  Bought a new Seagate 1 TB (SATA) office drive to replace.  Recovery disks, format the new drive to 3/3 and then I get the error code 0 400 100 130000 1002 infamous x.  Says to contact HP.

I think I need an OS disc.  However, I bought Vista with the machine but the OS disks have not been provided.  The software is on a patrician, on the failed drive, and I do not know the product key #.  Is there a way to save my OS or I have to buy new ones?  If Yes, I think I would upgrade to Windows 7.

Hello

If unallocated space is after the last partition and the last partition is the 'C' partition, then you can use disk management. If the last partition is HP tools or recovery then you can delete the partition by using Disk Management and then increase the size of the partition 'C '.

BTW - VISTA does not support partition covering them.

  • HP Pavilion Elite m9340f replacement video card and power supply

    Hello

I bought my HP Pavilion Elite at Best Buy m9340f in 2009 and brought it to the Venezuela where I live now.

My video card, started making the noise of the typical fan geforce 9500gs can do. The temperature of the gpu is very high (from 73 ° c without playing or watching videos!), and I'id like to replace it as soon as possible before my material fails completely.

But the power supply 350w, to replace any video card decent needed to change my diet too. I have not the slightest idea of what type of power supply should I buy, and if I should replace the case too. My intention is to keep my cpu, my mother, my hard drive and my ram (purchase of a new system to the Venezuela is out of the question because of the barbarian prices in this country).

Then to take the questions in order, I'll here:

-I want another video card (geforce 9500gs is known for his failure, so I want to upgrade to a more powerful card)

-To do this, I need another power supply, so I need recommendations on the provision of market models which CORRESPOND to my HP Pavilion Elite m9340f or

-replace also the case: what kind of business should I need that corresponds to the motherboard of benicia

    Thanks in advance

The information below was previously published by Big_Dave in response to several other posters about their questions about GPU upgrades. Prices shown are in U.S. dollars and for American retailers.

Your PC has a 350 Watt PSU if below video cards will work:

    $50--->NVIDIA GT 430 9.6 Gbps - single slot width

    $65--->NVIDIA GT 520 8 Gbps - single slot width

    $80--->NVIDIA GT 440 25.6 GB/s - single slot width

$130-->NVIDIA GT 545 43 Gbps - location single width - could be hard to find but perhaps only in the store

$110-->NVIDIA GT 240 1 GB DDR5. 54.4 GB/s - single slot width. This card does not support DirectX 11 which is eventually used in some of the latest PC games but it's a great performer.

Review the performance of NVIDIA specifications. Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

I normally don't recommend video cards AMD for PC with a 350 Watt power supply as AMD provides 400 watts or more for most of its video cards.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t 3300: replacing hard drive SSD with the recovery DVD

My Pavilion dv7t3300 has two hard drives... A SATA 500 GB of data and an SSD 128 GB containing the operating system and other programs.   The SSD drive that contains the operating system failed.  When I install the replacement SSD, I intend to use the HP System recovery DVD (2) which came with the unit.  If I load the recovery disks will be erase/format all my data-files in the 500 GB drive.

    The new drive is "naked".

    Thank you for your help

    Tim

I just remove the second disk while making the recovery operation and slap it in when the process is complete. Better safe than sorry. Theoretically, the recovery disks will not affect the second drive, but it's really easy to be sure that they will not be 100%.

  • Pavilion N5415 notebook replacement hard drive

I have an older Pavilion N5415 Notebook and hard drive died. HP no longer wears the replacements I can order online. The old drive is an IBM & reg Travelstar 4200 RPM 10 GB, ATA/IDE, 2.5 "x 9.5 mm. I need to know what I can safely replace this drive with." I found one on amazon.com with the following specifications and I need to know if it will work:

    • Hitachi Travelstar 4 K 120 HTS421280H9AT00 80 GB portable hard drive
    • Buffer 8 MB spindle speed 80 GB storage capacity IDE UDMA/100 4200 RPM interface
    • 7.1 ms average latency average 11 ms read seek time format 2.5 inch 9.5 mm drive height factor

What other specs do I need to be concerned in addition to rpm and physical size?

    Thank you!

32 GB is only a problem on some old computers... no need to worry. Once you have passed this barrier the next barrier is 137 gigs which does nothing more than 120 concerts can be used. I don't know the N5415 will be executed against this barrier. So whatever it is a disk of 120 Go up is ok and not better or worse than a smaller drive. Indeed, young readers tend to be older design, which means that they are running more hot and use more power.

  • Pavilion 15: What replacement hard drive?

    Hello

I need to replace the hard drive on laptop Pavilion 15 of my son. Can anyone recommend what to buy. I do not have a backup cd, so presumably I need to re - load windows etc. as well?

    Thank you very much

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Media of 6.35 cm (2.5 in) hard drives in 9.5 mm (in.37) and 7.0 mm (.28 in.) thick (all hard drives use the same bracket)

So this confirms accept the one I linked in the post above.

Unfortunately, the removal of the hard drive is a little tricky. Start the p. 85 of the manual which shows how to remove the top cover.

You can skip over the part on the withdrawal of the screen and go to p. 105 for the hard drive.

Here is a link to HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide. Please note Chapter 3, page 36, section 1, the recommended replacement disks.  You will notice the 160 GB SSD is recommended only if you have an Intel processor.

When I checked it Pavilion dv6-6135dx Entertainment Notebook PC specifications , you have an AMD processor.

Other drives may work, but as they are not tested, there is no guarantee that it would be.

Hey everybody. I bought a laptop HP the HP online store in the United States in November 2015. I am currently in India and my laptop hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. My laptop warranty is valid outside the country of purchase (USA)?

  • Pavilion Elite Hi - 1280t hard drive problem

When I do a control I have and go into the installation program which shows the new third sata hard drive I installed.  All say non-raid drive to the right.  It also has an option to create a raid volumn on the 0 of the solid state disk.  The new drive is not displayed in windows 7.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Do you mean h8 - 1280t instead of what you have published under the name of your PC product? There is no salvation - 1280t sold by HP...

This seems to be your desktop CTO (configure to order). What was the original config? You have a pair of SSD?

Type of computer in the search programs and files, select and click computer management in programs that appear above, and then select and then click Disk Management in the left pane of the tree. You should now have a view and the State of your hard drives installed in the Central upper and lower part of the computer management window.  Use the Windows Snipping Tool to save and post the image here.

In windows you can right click on the drive on which is your new addition. That will invoke the options available for the new drive. You can create a simple or dynamic volume and format the drive among other options. Make sure you that you gave the reader a recognizable name so you do not wipe your operating system by mistake. (I know the name of the example is silly in terms of today ' hui)

  • Pavilion refurbished with replacement hard drive Win 8.1

Happy with my 'new' renovated Pavilion that I received from Tigerdirect.

But like all material, eventually the drive will fail.

I have not received any disk with an operating system on it in case it is necessary for this occurrence.

When missing how to make a copy of the Win 8.1 operating system that is on it now to get it up and running again?

    Thank you...

All HP computers have a partition on your hard disk, book for a backup of the original windows supplied with recovery system.

You can burn this image to a DVD or a USB flash drive.
