Pavilion G6-1321SX: I lost my product key Windows 7:(comment je peux le trouver?)
I installed a new Windows 7 because I had problems with the previous, and I thought that the Windows product key is here somewhere, but I couldn't find it anywhere! not at the back of the laptop, not in the textbooks, nothing
Is there a way to know what is it?
Hi Omar
Only if your laptop comes with Windows 7 pre installed when you bought it, you will see the product key printed sticker COSTS on the back of your laptop.
According to the spec sheet:
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03136279
Your laptop did not come with one, instead it came with FreeDos.
The product key you are asking here is for the retail version of Windows 7 you must have obtained as well as the disk installation or Microsoft in your e-mail ID, when you bought them.

I LOST MY WINDOW 7 Home Basic PRODUCT KEY, HOW CAN I FIND this.
If your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Basic Edition:
Look for the COA product key:
COA certificate of authenticity:
http://www.Microsoft.com/howtotell/content.aspx?PG=COA
What is the certificate of authenticity for Windows?
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-the-Windows-certificate-of-authenticity
Option 1:
If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.
Option 2:
If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.
Option 3:
If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press F8 on the keyboard until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears on the screen.
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

original title: product key
I have the DVD original, but lost the product key; would it not be in one of the files? What is my option?
It would depend on the brand and model of your PC. Know also there are generally two types of product keys: single and "OEM Royal golden master" (which is like a volume license key).
Are you absolutely sure that you have lost your product key? If you bought a PC pre-installed with Windows XP, you probably have this unique product key (the) on the COA sticker that is expected to be on the case (or at the bottom of the laptop).
In addition, if your PC does not work, you can use a program like Belarc Advisor or Magical Jellybean Finder to get your key (but if you have a gold key, it's one that will appear, not one single).
Finally, you can not even your key. If your 'original' DVD (or CD maybe?) is a recovery CD, it will very probably return your PC to its original state pre-activated. If it's a Dell brand XP installation CD (and you install it on a Dell computer!), then she too is pre-activated; It would be not asked to enter a key during installation.

I have Windows XP Home Edition Cd. But I lost the product key. My old computer is ded. How do I install it in a new computer.
If your XP is preinstalled on your old computer, it is an OEM installation and cannot be moved to the new.
If you bought a copy retail full XP, then your key should be in the case of CD holding the disc.
If you have lost you don't have a chance and will need to purchase a new license for Windows. MS sells more than XP, and in stores, stocks are running out. eBay (and other sites) lists the number of available items - which most is a counterfeit.
You should consider buying a newer OS, assuming that your hardware is compatible.
