  • My Pavilion a255c 2003 will support a 250 GB hard drive addition?

I have a pavilion built in 2003 a255c.  Will be the controller on my MSI MS-6577 v 2.1 (Xenon 4) motherboard support an expansion of the capacity of the original 120 GB hard drive by adding a second hard drive of 250 GB?  I have the operating system Windows XP SP3 and BIOS Core Version v6.0, revision of BIOS 3.25 23/09/2003 (the last update available).  Is there any other compatibility issue that I need to check?

Also, the HPs site for specs on HP Pavilion a255c, maximum RAM capacity is indicated as 1 GB (2 x 512 MB).  But the HP Web site for specifications on the motherboard (Xenon 4) for Pavilion a255c, maximum capacity of RAM is listed as 2 GB.  Which is correct?  I have only two DIMMS on my motherboard.

1 100 means the speed of the ATA 100 hard drive. In the internal IDE hard drives, we have IDE ATA 66, 100, 133 to my knowledge.

    2. I recommend do not a 7200 RPM drive and it can not detect.

    3. no limitation by adding a second hard drive internal. External hard drive is not a problem at all. He will have power to USB or external power source according to the type of external hard drive.

I have a strange problem with my RAM supported by installers. When I check the activity monitor, 3 installers are open and they start around 80 MB memory RAM used for about 7 or 8 concerts after 10 minutes. I have to force them to quit, but I don't know what I am closing or why they open in the first place. Applications downloaded on iTunes?

In addition, the Console has opened with the same message several times, but I don't know what that means.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The last is a picture of the Terminal window.

Just because it lists 'Console' does not mean that it has nothing to do with this application.

You have not said why or what you're trying to install so I can't help with that.

You can use the activity monitor to leave their.

After you select an item, use the X in a type of stop sign icon and confirm force quit.

What is the maximum ram supported for this laptop? Acer aspire E5 - 474 G-59PT

I checked the user manual and have said nothing on the specification of the ram

    Hi newuseracrKM,

    1. The official specs:
      It supports up to 16 GB - DDR3L - 1333 or 1600 MHz.
Here are the bars of origin:

  • XPS 8300 - Ivy Bridge & RAM support

I tried looking for a forum, post, comment... anything which confirms what is the maximum RAM supported in a Dell XPS 8300 and also whether Ivy Bridge CPU are taken in charge or not.

I am yet to find anything conclusive (Please share if you have), so, I did the test myself and can confirm the following:

    • Ivy Bridge CPU compatibility: No.
    • Maximum RAM: 32 GB

I tested my 8300 XPS with Intel Core i7-3770 processor (8 M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) and the system would not POST. No beep codes; just would not AFTER. Then I'm under BIOS A06, of course, this has not helped. I read on this forum someone talking about a BIOS A07 which came bundled with their XPS 8300 (0Y2MRG) of replacement motherboard. If anyone knows how to get this BIOS A07 I'd like to get my hands on it to see if it offers support of Ivy Bridge.

Regarding the RAM, I am running 32 GB of RAM without problem. I use 4 x G.Skill RipJawsX 8 GB (1x8GB) 1333 MHz DDR3 PC3 - 10666C 9 Memory Sticks (F3-10666CL9S-8GBXL). The BIOS and OS the two report 32 GB installed and everything works well.

I hope someone benefits from my findings and I also hope that someone out there has access to the BIOS A07 is ready to share.

You already know the answer, but I share this as another data point and using another brand for memory.

Maximum RAM supported Dell for this system is 16 GB. However, it works very well with 32 GB of RAM. I've used this kit of memory in mine:

    Corsair XMS3 32 GB (4X8Go) DDR3 1333 MHz (PC3 10666) memory (CMX32GX3M4A1333C9) Fund

No doubt others works fine, too. The only downside is that most Dells would come with Windows 7 Home Premium installed and which only allows access to 16 GB of RAM. You must have Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition to access all 32 GB of RAM. You can make the Windows Anytime Upgrade to buy Win7 Pro if you want to go this route, it as if by magic basically makes your existing install in Win7 Pro, so you don't have to reinstall anything.

If you put more than 16 GB in a system of Home Premium, when you right click on computer and go to properties, you will see the memory listed as 32 GB (16 GB usable). So the operating system you will see everything, it just won't let you USE it all. Hard, there is?

I had looked at this issue and not have anything solid for an answer so I tried myself and write about my success.

  • Question - Alienware 18 types of RAM supported

Is there documentation that shows the material limitations of the laptop Alienware 18 ?

The standard version comes with 1600 MHz RAM modules in either 4x4GB (16 GB), or 4x8Go (32 GB).

I've seen systems like this (modified after-market versions): http://www.amazon.com/Alienware-Overclocked-EXTREME-Kingston-Ultimate/dp/B00JCBXL5O

This baffles me as I plan for future updates but do not want to end up with hardware that is incompatible with my build like that would be a costly mistake.

    Thus,.

    • What RAM DDR3L modules can be used with laptop computer Alienware 18?
    • What is the fastest speed of RAM supported by this model?
    • Are there aspects that must be taken into account in regard to the configurations of two-channel, triple or quad-channel (if any are supported)?

There is a possibility that the site you linked to shows. But if you put non Dell memory in there and the motherboard brick, our warranty does not cover this damage. In addition, they lied on their Web site when they declared,
"WARRANTY: 1 year basic Service Alienware, includes a the in-Home Service after remote diagnosis in the United States.

Once they added 1866 MHz ram, we finished.

    Here is the Manual:

Memory SODIMM Barrette two slots support dual channel DDR3L - 1600 MHz (some models only)

You have the i3 processor so your 2 slots. The indicated maximum is 12 concerts, that is a 4 GB and 8 GB, but experience has shown she accepts modules of 2 x 8 gig for total of 16 concerts.

Memory access is very delicate and requires the removal of the motherboard.

  • Pavilion 15-ab121dx: 15 laptop HP Pavilion (15-ab121dx) w / AMD A10 8700 p - what are the speed/types/sizes of RAM supported?

I bought a new laptop over the weekend (15-ab121dx - CPU AMD A - 10 p 8700, 6 GB of DDR3 RAM memory) and the sales associate could not tell me the max supported RAM.  I guess I could quickly find the info online, but was strangely wrong...  I searched HP and the Internet in general site but can't find what the maximum RAM allowed in this laptop.  I'm assuming that the laptop is so new, the information is just not there yet?    He came only installed with 6 GB or ram (SODIMM 1 is 4 GB and the 2nd SODIMM 2 GB) and I want to change to 16GB SODIMM (2x8GB) or 32 GB (2x16GB) SODIMM.   The problem is that I can't find the maximum supported memory, speed, memory type for my new machine.  One of the main reasons that I decided to go with this laptop is I read good things about the A10 AMD 8700 p and that it can work with RAM speeds up to 2133 mhz...  But before I buy the fast RAM, I want first of all to ensure that this speed of RAM will work in this laptop?  Please list the supported RAM types, size of RAM, RAM speeds for this laptop.   In addition, support DDR3L, DDR3, or both?    Thank you!

Yes thank you, but the link you have sent (the model computer laptop 15-ab121dx on the HP site) was the first place I checked when I started searching for information on the laptop.    It not there no guide service or y at - it clues about the supported RAM configurations.   I knew that the price of the machine and the CPU is perhaps a little too good to be true.     ... Not extensible user is bad.  Looks like the laptop everything would need to be dismantled to even just replacing the hard drive and, to install or replace the motherboard of the laptop RAM must be removed!    I should have done more research.  But I guess even if I had, I wouldn't have found much (since having to place a post in a forum to know these basic things like access and type of RAM)...   I plan to return it.  Thanks for the quick responses to the post office - this was appreciated.
