    Hello

I would like to ask if the slot of the ThinkPad Edge E520 m-sata support Sata 6 Gbps, or if it is limited to the Sata 3 Gb/s.

    Thank you

Edge E520/E530 only supports SATAII (3 Gbps) in mSATA location.

  • Pavilion p6324uk: SATA 2 or 3 on the p6324uk Pavilion

My Pavilion, bought in 2010, shows a mother MSI IONA (M7613 GL8E?).

What details I can find suggests 4 SATA 3 connectors are available on the motherboard

I mounted a Sandisk Ultra II SSD and it works fine

However, the SanDisk SSD dashboard indicates that the drive is connected to a SATA 2 (3.0 Gbps) port and recommends connecting to a STATA 3 (6 Gb/S)

My Question: ARE all/some of the SATA 3 ports on the mobo and if some - those who?

    Thank you

This THREAD has the same motherboard as your PC.  MSI ms-7613 (Iona-GL8E)

Almost the same type question such as published here.

    Pavilion Elite HPE-450 t with the msi ms-7613 (Iona-GL8E) motherboard supports SATA 3.0 review (6 mb/s)?

    N °

The motherboard (Iona-GL8E) supports the SATA (3.0 GB/s) 2.0 specification.

However, peripheral SATA 3 usually work very well on SATA 2 ports.

Yes, he does. Laptop computers with chipsets Cougar Point-M (Sandy Bridge CPUs) have 2 ports SATA III (6 Gbps) connection. You can buy a SSD SATA III player and I see the Corsair is a good choice (I got one also)...

  • Pavilion p6210y: SATA host adapter problem

    Hey guys,.

I think I found a problem with the SATA host adapter in a desktop Pavilion p6210y.  I find it difficult to restore the system after a hard drive replacement, and I discovered that if I have TWO hard drive and the CD drive unplugged so the machine will start.  If I plug the hard drive OR the CD, then the machine hangs on the HP BIOS screen.  Output voltage of the PSU is normal.  I think the guest card (motherboard) is toast.

I did a little research, and it seems that it is a known problem with this motherboard.

HP P6210Y does not detect hard drive

This link may be the inlaid right.

Card failure causes a MCP chip overheating, which controls the SATA ports.

    Here are some links:

  • Is on a Pavilion DV9700 SATA I or SATA II HARD drive controller

I just installed a SSD SATA II 120 GB in my Pavilion DV9700.  I wanted to know if my HARD drive is SATA II before the firmware update.

Yes the dv9700 is compatible for the SATA-II drives.

  • Pavilion upgrade SATA

I need additional disk space, I have a SATA 3 gb that came with the PC, will be the Pavalion a6513 support a SATA 3 6 GB or more.

    Motherboard say.

    @spainishfuzz

Your PC does not support a hard drive SATA III greater than 2 TB as a hard drive to boot.  Hard drives SATA III less 2 TB should work, but the improved performance would be negligible.

A lot of the latest HDs are advanced format patterns and former HP recovery programs will not work during the restoration.

If you want to run a HD over 2 TB in size as a data reader and then review the example below image.  Remember that Windows uses the latest version of the driver TSRI. Notice the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.

  • HP Pavilion a1587c sata drivers?

Where could I get sata drivers for this PC? It came with Vista installed it does not start right now and I want to downgrade to XP, but I can not install XP on the Sata drives, and I need some drivers. XP is purchased legally, if that makes a difference.

If the full version of XP

You should be able to install

the best way I've done is put the drive and restart the computer

not from the prompt when you on the desktop

    Once you restart the computer

do a format and it will erase the hard drive and you should be able

to install XP on a clean slate

Once you get to go to XP and running only the MsUpdate and you

you will need to validate your window to get the updates from microsoft

and then get your update of HP as the model of your computer

It has the drivers and software updates

I hope the shop gave you your vista disc if you ever want to

running Vista because vista is registered and the disc they use

a code key engraved and this same computer you bought

    Good luck

  • ThinkPad Edge S430 Sata 6 Gbit/s or 3 Gbps?

    Hello world

I wonder if the internal SATA (not mSATA) port of the Thinkpad Edge S430 is a 6 Gbps port or 3 Gbps?

Because internal 500 GB HDD is a Hitachi Travelstar Z7K500, which is normally a Sata 6 Gbps drive HARD, but said CrystalDiskInfo it only works in Sata 3 Gb/s modus.

I know that the HARD drive is not fast enough to get out SATA 3 Gb/s max even when, but I want to replace by a SSD's SATA 6 GB/s HARD drive.

So the question is why is the HARD drive works in SATA 3 gb/s modus. The jury only supports SATA 3 gb/s, or the OEM Version of the drive HARD Hitachi only does support SATA 3 gb/s?

Has anyone replaced the HDD with a SSD already?

    Kind regards

Bay drive HARD internal for S430 is 6 Gbps.

  • SSD instead of an optical drive on the Pavilion dv6-6b56er

    Greetings!

My laptop is Pavilion dv6-6b56er, model: A2Z12EA #ACB.

I want to remove the optical drive and install the SSD.

    HWiNFO64 info:

    SATA host controller
Interface supported speed: Gen3 6.0 Gbps

It's SATA III. problem is my hard drive (tow model: SAMSUNG HM641JI) installed on SATA II.

and optical drive SATA I. I need to find a cable connector to hard drive (with SATA III) and replace it with the cable from the optical drive.

    But I can not find

info on the hard drive cable is so little:

  • Satellite L50-A-19N - HARD disk controller is not compatible SATA 3

    Hello.

    I have a model of L50-a-19n satellite.
The hard drive it is HGST Travelstar 5 K 1000 750 GB, SATA 6 Gbps (HTS541075A9E680/0J22412).

On Web site of the manufacturer and as Aida64 diagnostic software the hard drive is named SATA-III 600 MB/s.

But when I run the Crystaldiskinfo software or simillar, it is said that the taken and current transfer mode supported SATA/300.
    Why is it like that?

Is this some sort of software limmitation?
In the Bios, I turned on the performance mode.

HARD drive supports SATA 6 Gbit/s, but the portable controller is probably limited to SATA II (3 Gb/s)

If the HARD disk controller does not support SATA III, HARD drive performance will be limited.

The research in This THREAD, the topic under discussion has already been addressed.  As stated in this thread, speed SATA III is the same SATA 6 Gbps Interface so that the speed of SATA 1.5 is the oldest known aka SATA SATA specification I

  • Satellite Pro L670 - 14 M and SATA 6 GB/S Support

    Hello

I recently bought an SSD (Crucial M4) for my Toshiba Satellite Pro L670 - 14M. He behaves well and certainly improves performance. However, when I test my SSD benchmarks, it reaches only about 230 - 260 MB/s reading speeds on sequential when it needs to get up to 500 MB/s as advertised.

I'm assuming it's because my SSD is running via SATA 3 gb/s, so I ask, my laptop does support SATA 6 Gbps? If not, this isn't a big disappointment, although it would be great to have up to 500 MB/s sequential read speeds for this performance gain.

Someone can confirm on the question of whether my laptop (Satellite Pro L670 - 14M) supports SATA 6 Gbit/s or not?

    Hello

The laptop is equipped with a Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset and the Intel Core i3 - 330 M processor.

That's why the SATA II controller agreed that 3 Gbps
