I think I saw this same issue before and not your system has no Win10 HP drivers. If you want a portable Win10 and buy a Win10 mid range laptop.

This is what your model page for Win10.

    Hello

I am looking at upgrading the processor in an i3 i5 or i7 laptop, I was wondering if someone had done before, if it's the same penalty, and if no problem of massive heating were casued by intorducing a more power hungry CPU. common sense tells me that an i5 would be nice, but if I can go out with an i7 I wouldn't complain. Although I'm not sure that the rest of the system would really have this treatment a lot more capabiltiy so an i5 would be probably more cost-effective. any help would be appreciated

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Your manual

The top of the page compatible processor is:

    CPU i7-620 M of Intel Arrandale™ (total 2.66 GHz, 4 MB L3 cache, 1066 MHz) - Dual core 35 W

You have an i3 - 350 M. The thermal system is designed to manage each processor and the absorbed current is the same at 35W. You would go to 2.26 ghz with a cache of meg 3 to 2.66 ghz with a cache of meg 4; probably a 40% increase or more in processing power. The i7 is going to be about $40 on eBay and an i5 only a little less, so if you do the upgrade I go for excitement and get the i7. However, the first generation Intel Core is getting a little long in the tooth. No usb 3.0, no SATA-III, bad heat/power management, etc. If you can make the update yourself and the manual shows how, then for $40 it might allow you to use the laptop for a little longer. Do not underestimate the difficulty of the upgrade, however. If you need assistance after return.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p204: UPDATE of HP SUPPORT ASSISTANT HP BIOS update for Intel processor (F43) - SHOWING AGAIN

    Hello

I am new to the community of HP.

I'm having a problem. Well, I can't really say it is a MAJOR problem because there is no threat to the system or anything, it's just one of those little annoying things.

Yesterday, I updated my BIOS F.43 after being invited by HP support assistant. Update succeeded, charged back up the laptop, and the watch update STILL not installed on the HP support assistant. I reinstalled it and it still shows the same thing.

It's just a bug and it is really installed and the wizard of support has not been updated?

    Thank you

    Hi @GarethWilliamss,

Thanks for posting in the Forums of HP and welcome.

I read on the HP Support Assistant and prompt you to download on your HP Pavilion Notebook 15 - p204. As you can imagine this is a glitch. Ignore the update.

    I hope this helps.

Please let me know if this help solve the problem by marking this post as accept as a Solution.

Recently upgraded to Windows 10 (64 bit) to Windows 7.

The Bios is older than 5 years. is it possible to upgrade?

What I've read, HP uses modified BIOS, not those generally available on the motherboard manufacturers websites, even IF you can find your Board on the website of the Board manufacturer. The only "safe" to install BIOS would be those that HP show for download on their Web page to your computer, in your case this page is:

and I don't see any update of the BIOS listed so far.  In my case, with my computer, they did an update that appeared shortly after my purchase.

If you feel that you just have to do and don't mind the risk involved, then download the latest version of your download folder and double-click the softpaq.

  • HP Pavilion 23-b010 BIOS updated

I have a question about updating the BIOS on my HP Pavilion 23-b010. Currently installed BIOS is version 8.09 FRIEND (who has been the construction of the plant). When I bought the machine at the factory loaded OS is Windows 8. Subsequently I have upgraded to Windows 8.1. Recently, I noticed on the Windows 8 software & Web page download driver for my particular PC there is an update of the listed BIOS - version 8.13 (sp8624.exe) applicable to the 2AF0 of the ROM. family then checked this update the directory FTP Internet HP site - where it is described as a "critical security improvement."

I would like to install this update of the BIOS, but it is not displayed as an update on the Windows 8.1 software & driver downloads Web page to my PC. So I need some advice. My current BIOS 8,09 was for a machine of Windows 8; so is the new version 8.13. But I have upgraded to Windows 8.1; so my attention before installing - don't want my PC into a brick.

FYI my PC motherboard is Pegatron 2AF0.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 B8N04PA #ACJ: update the configuration of failure. Restoration of the changes

Whenever the laptop to install the update. Then when you restart it will read the updates of configuration failure. Restoration of the changes.

This continues until 30 minutes before it finally restarts

    Hi @mayurz91 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your problems of HP Pavilion dv6-7040tx laptop and with updates.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.

If you run an antivirus protection, this could be a problem. Disable temporarily to perform the required updates.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Plug the power supply directly to a wall outlet works. Do not connect it a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210f: update video card

A PNY gtx 950 should physically be in a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210f? I already know that I have to upgrade the power supply, but before shelling out more money, I figured I would see if anyone knew if the card fits?

    KKingotu, welcome to the forum.

The problem you will have with the GTX 950 is, it requires UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't start using UEFI until mid-October 2012.  Your computer was released on February 5, 2010.  There is no way to update the UEFI BIOS.  You can contact Technical Support PNY to see if they have a VBIOS update for the video card that will work with your motherboard.

Meanwhile in the space provided, you can measure e/s rear plate on the front of the computer case to see if any of the components.  In addition, it is a wide double card (two locations).

  • HP Pavilion zv5133ea WLAN card update

Hi, I have a HP pavilion ZV5133ea and I would like to update the WLAN card. My laptop is a 802. 11B only and I want to have a version of G. The number of the WLAN card is Broadcom BCM94301MPL since 2003. I know that I can always buy a card USB or PCM but I'd rather spend the internal card.

I tried another Broadcom card which was compatible G: BCM94309MP of 2002. However, at the start of the BIOS, it stops and says that the WIFI network is not compatible with this laptop. I tried a few others to Anatel Intel as well but with the same result. The BIOS is version F.35, which is the last from the HP site. Does anyone know if there is a compatible WLAN card? Thank you in advance.

    Hello:

It should, because I shot these reference numbers of repair zv5000 on the link below.

  • Pavilion a6010n frozen BIOS update

    I was updating a Pavilion a6010n computer.

I ran the update of the BIOS (v.5.13 to v.5.23) file. Open attention box does not turn off the computer, etc..

    The update froze.

After an hour, I left pending. I shut down the computer manually. Removed the battery of the BIOS for half a minute.

I reinstalled the battery and plugged to the computer. Of course it won't start. Does not start even to start.

Is there a recovery process, that we can use to get back on this computer? Perhaps a BIOS file, we can put it on a drive Flash or something?

HP says they no longer support this machine.

    Help!

    JakeKay, welcome to the forum.

Because your computer is more than 8 years old, it was built before that some of the new BIOS recovery methods have been developed.  Therefore, I don't think there is anything you can do.

  • Pavilion 9220y video card update

    Hello
I was hoping that an expert can help me upgrade/configure a new video card for a desktop HP Pavilion Elite 9220y.

I have done the research to shed light on the issue, but would REALLY appreciate some help!

So just that the machine has now integrated ATI Radeon HD 4350 - that it comes with, who I am is of course very well for the casual user, but I want a massive update to play new games.  Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this computer, so I can't build a new machine custom, so I just want to update my video card today... the rest of the system works very well if.

    My questions are:

    • Can I upgrade the video card on this specific computer HP Pavillion 9220y?
    • I read that I can replace the card using the PCIex16 slot? but is this slot PCI-E 1.0 or 2.0?  I could not find in the sheets...
    • If so, what kind of cards are compatible with it and are good for games?
    • I buy a power supply additionanl to run the additional power demand?  If so, what is a good thing that will work for the 9220y? http://www.Newegg.com/store/subcategory.aspx?subcategory=58&name=power-supplies

It's just a lot to wrap around my head and I want to make sure I go about it the right way, before you update or buy anything!
Again, any help would be appreciated more
    Steve

    Hi Steve,.

    1. Yes, you can install a video card in your PC.

    2. the discrete graphics card will move into the slot PCI-E x 16.  HP is not posting slot PCI-E card, but a video designed to the 2.0 PCI card will normally be backward compatible with the PCI 1.x ports.

3 game cards have different levels of performance and your choice will depend on the game being used and set of parameters. Check out forum and the game manufacturer's web site and see what others are using.

    4. more decent video cards will require a bigger power supply.  The p9220y has only a 300 Watt power supply.

Here are the specifications of the motherboardfor the p9220y. Since most of the better video cards are wider than normal single slot card, then adjacent locations on the PCI-E x 16 slot must be vacant.

I make a few suggestions, but I'm really in the dark about your playing conditions.

TheCorsair CX600should have enough power for most video cards.

TheNVIDIA GTX 550 TIshould have enough power for most video games with the higher settings. Screen resolution is a factor of performance.

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet.  Here is a list of the things to consider:

    1. Specifications
    2. Total power - important
    3. amperage 12 + v - important
    4. Modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
    5. Warranty
    6. I7 and SLI ready
    7. Efficiency rating
    8. Cost
    9. The physical size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths
    10. Only one + 12 volt rail is a better choice.

www.Newegg.com has many choices of power supplies.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake...

Review the performance of NVIDIA specifications. Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

How to replace a power supply.

How to replace a video card.
