Pavilion H8J91EA #ABU: failed to update BIOS on H8J91EA #ABU

Has had a major disaster last night.

Tried to update the BIOS on a Pavilion H8J91EA #ABU failed; Displays the boot block update message (or something like that - don't remember exactly) message stayed on the screen for centuries and then blacked out.  Now, the machine seems totally dead.  I tried the method of recovery of bios key 'Windws-key' and 'B' without result.

Does anyone know if this feature is supported on the #ABU H8J91EA

Thank you

It sort!

After failing to install the new BIOS understandable machine does not start.

The option Windows key & B to retrieve the original BIOS is supported on this model but would not work.

If you leave the machine off for a few hours the BIOS recovery works fine the first time try you it. but once the BIOS has loaded the system was unable to restart to complete the installation. Returning to the State where you cannot call the BIOS recovery feature and the machine is completely dead.

Solution in my case was...

  • Power down machine
  • Leave for a few hours
  • Turn on, all holding the key windows and 'B '.
  • Wait for the BIOS recovery to start and release the keys.
  • Answer all questions and wait for the reboot to start.
  • If it does not start, turn the machine off and leave for a few hours.
  • Turn on the machine, and with a little luck, the boot will continue.
  • Answer any questions that you are asked, and wait.
  • Breathe a sigh of relief...

I hope it's useful to someone.

    Hello

Have you used the good BIOS?
I recommend you to check the serial number that is placed at the bottom of the unit.
The first 5 digits and characters are important.
Then compare it on the page of the Toshiba driver and use the good BIOS!

Please note that bad BIOS or bad BIOS update process can damage the laptop. I would recommend so double check the BIOS version prior to execution.

    Hi all

I got a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D Windows Vista Business, this isn't that four months, recently, he began to break up and whenever he did, I got a message to upgrade the BIOS.
So I went to the Toshiba Site and I downloaded an updated BIOS yesterday and installed even today, during installation the PC frooze.
I left it on and it stayed like that for four hours, then it turns off.

Now, when I turn it on all that I get is the fan turns to nothing else.
The powerleader was connected to the laptop all the time.

Do you have any ideas on what I can do, I have heaps on the laptop I would not loose.

Model is PSLC9E Satellite Pro L300D

The case is clear buddy update the BIOS has no procedure
Perhaps the BIOS might not be updated correctly because the laptop crashed until the update procedure could be completed.

Well, I can tell you that you will not be able to fix it yourself it's a serious issue and ONLY the ASP (certified partner) would be able to help you!

So contact the ASP technician and ask for later handling.

  • Failed to update BIOS 7020 OptiPlex

Running 64-bit Windows 7, updated to date.

It is impossible on multiple systems, update BIOS 7020 OptiPlex by using the update for my Windows version found here.

When I try to run the O7020A08.exe file, I get the following error message:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

I checked the MD5 checksum, so I am confident that the file downloaded correctly. Google results based on the error message seem especially related w / old software works is not on a newer OS.

    Thoughts?

It pays to check the BIOS version before attempting to update. My BIOS is updated.

But I can't imagine that this behavior is simply a funny way of showing that the BIOS update is not necessary.

  • failed to update BIOS dv7-3021ea

I have a dv7 3021ea which does not after that update from hp for the applied BIOS and failed.

When on, there are the two flashes of the LED indicating the BIOS corruption.

I tried recovery BIOS WIN - B, but the laptop has a quick thinking, then turns off and restarts at two flashes, then I guess that the HP_TOOLS partition does not work.

I downloaded the updates to the BIOS of hp, f.13 versions support both f.12, but when I try to run these on another computer (to try and create a key USB BIOS), I get the error "InsydeFlash is unable to load the driver. Please close all applications. If you run this utility on Windows 7, please run as Administrator". I have closed all applications, use Win7 and run as admin, is it because the computer I am running is not a dv7 3021ea? If so, how should I proceed to create the recovery USB media?

    Thank you

    Hi Sparkles1

Thanks for your suggestions, unfortunately, I had tried that already.

I set the laptop if, after many hours searching the Internet, here is what finally worked...

-Download the oldest version of the bios (F03) support page http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-75027-2 & cc = us & dlc = in & lc = on & os = 4062 & product = 4076007 & sw_lang = (although I don't know that if the version actually matters, after trying different ways, I sat right on the use of this version) It can work with later versions too)

-Run the file sp45171 (version F03), this will create a swsetup with the BIOS files directory. The image file of the BIOS that you need is 3635F03. FD, this file will be named differently if you use another version of BIOS.

-J' copied 3635F03. FD to a FAT to format USB key with the title of volume of HP_TOOLS

-After reading several posts on various forums, this is the step that finally did the job. I duplicated the file 3635F03. FD (by copy/paste) and renamed to create the following files in the folder of the USB root. So these are all the same 3635F03. FD file but have been named...

    3635.FD

    3635.BIN

    3636.FD

    3636.BIN

    3637.FD

    3637.BIN

    3638.FD

    3638.BIN

    3639.FD

    3639.BIN

    363 A FD

    363 A BIN

Apparently, the reason behind this comes from the platform.ini file you will find in the \swsetup directory. In this file is a section called [Platform_Check] and that's where that specifies the various platforms and so the names of files you need to use. I also chose to copy and create the '. BIN 'file as'. FD' from an article I read. I do not know what file actually worked, but one of them did! Apparently, you can identify what platform you actually have a sticker somewhere but I just went for the shotgun approach.

-J' then followed the procedure of recovery BIOS WIN - B (the main battery, plug lead AC market with WIN - B button, release WIN - B when USB key starts flashing) with the stick in the USB port on the left. The Image Flash screen appeared, applied the BIOS and the laptop is now start normally.

-J' had also removed the HARD drive and open the DVD drive to prevent these from start, but do not know if it is essential.

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Compaq Presario CQ56-106SL: failed to update Bios

    Hello

my laptop had a version of bios F03, I downloaded the HP driver page associated with this model, the latest version of F18, the InsydeFlash utility began, showed me the latest version of the bios (F03) and the new version of the bios to be installed (F18).

After you PC rebooted automatically, at startup, a window showed the new bios was ready to be installed, I pressed enter, installation began, writes the blocks of 512, checked the blocks of 512 and at this stage, the laptop got stuck showing the 512/512 blocks have been checked and the progress bar 100%.

After abou 1 hour, I decided to stop the laptop, the only way to do so was unconnect the battery pack.

I turned on the laptop, but it shows once again the new bios is ready to install, I repeated the process a few times but the result is the same awvays.

By turning on the sistem, I can also skip the update of the bios by pressing ESC, doing so Windows7 starts normally, but every time I restart the laptop that I should ignore the upgrade, and I just can't access the bios Setup.

I tried to install any other bios versions downloaded from the HP driver page associated with this model, but none of them worked, even the original version F03 no longer works.

The result for all of the versions I've tried is almost the same, some time it install the bios, but the check fails, some time, that the installation fails also the 391 block or the block 33.

Can anyone suggest me what it takes to win the correct bios behavior?

    Thank you very much

    Roberto

    Thank you

I solved my problem, I'm not exactly sure how.

I immediately pressed the ESC key and mem test form CD, after that a new restart and entered in the configuration of the BIOS with the F10 key. I have change everything, but now the laptops starting mormally.

I have the BIOS original version F03.

  • Pavilion dv7-1110eo: HP Pavilion dv7-1110eo error after update BIOS startup

I've updated the BIOS (it is now Hewlett-Packard F.49) with a download from the HP Web site. I wish I had not done that because it's my portable patient. When start it freezes and the only thing that I see is black screen with HP logo. No button works.

Later I discovered that BIOS itself is not the problem (I tried to get back the old version for a long time without success), it is the connected USB devices or USB ports, don't know. My laptop starts normally and works perfectly if I remove all plug-ins USB until I press the power button. After the black screen is passed I can plug the USB and they work too. I wonder if any of you ever faced this kind of problem...! If you have and you know how to solve this problem, please help. (Finnish HP customer service couldn't help me).

  • Satellite Pro U300 (PSU31E) standby & hibernation fails after updating BIOS

    Hello

I wonder if it is common that after the upgrade of the Satellite Pro U300 (PSU31E) of the BIOS 2.50 at BIOS 3, 70 - Win or 3, 90 - Win, do sleep modes and Hibernate the * completely locked laptop computer? *

After the upgrade, when I try to enter sleep or hibernation, the laptop turns off the LCD and gets locked so it isn't help to press and hold the power button, open/close the cover, press Fn - F3 or F4 - Fn, the only way is to disconnect the power supply and wait until the battery runs down, or simply be very rough and * disconnect the battery *.

While the Pro U300 is locked, I hear that HARD drive and fans are also swivel - as soon they were when entering standby or hibernation mode. Very ugly behavior - you can FRY your laptop with something like that. I thought that BIOS 3.70 was faulty but unfortunatelly version 3.90 also worthless.

Furthermore, I can't yet understand why large (70% of the zip file) file of the package to upgrade the BIOS (3.70 and 3.90)... is the portable other flashers log file?

Your ad, I understand that the screen does not wake up after its entry in the standby or hibernation mode.
    Am I wrong?

I noticed that Toshiba has released a new version of the Intel graphics driver.
At this time the update is 02/20/08 and the version is 6.14.10.4831.

Maybe you should try to update the display driver too check to see if it would help to get rid of this annoying display problem

I recommend to remove the old version of the graphics driver first, then install the new downloaded driver.

    Mate good luck

  • Satellite L40 - failed to update BIOS

    Hello!

I have Win XP on my Satellite L40 - 14F and I download BIOS update and... * nothing *.
Only invites to the splash screen for a second and nothing more.
    Please help me!

    Hello

What to say. It seems that something was wrong during your BIOS update procedure.
Have you chosen the right BIOS and did you use the correct procedure to update the BIOS?

The point is that the BIOS package that was downloaded from the Toshiba page must be unzipped first. It is very important that you would have to decompress it correctly.

In any case, always is the module Rom BIOS has been flashed properly and so the laptop will not start.
Unfortunately, the ASP is your last resort.
Ask the guys and should ask for further handling.

    Good luck

  • HP Pavilion 15-p151sa: failed to update Realtek RTL8723BE - wifi Cup

    Hello

    I'm under 10 Home Windows on my HP Pavilion 15 - p151sa.

    I have a Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapter on my system.

This card seems to do an auto-update feature that blocks my wireless and cuts me any wifi connectivity.

I refer to the update below:

I have tried everything - uninstalling the driver and reinstalling, restoration, etc.

Because Windows 10 does not an opt-out on the updates, I am forced to do a system restore whenever signle and it turns into a nightmare that I'm not able to find a solution and can't do much without an ethernet cable, if the update occurs automatically and my network off when I'm not home.

System Restore is the only thing that works.

Could someone please help? How to solve this problem?

I need a fix for this young that this problem badly affect my work.

    Thank you

    Hari

    Hi, Hari:

Get the laptop where the wireless card works correctly and then there is a way to hide the updates of windows install on W10, but you need to run a separate tool.

Here is the link for the download and instructions to run the tool.

It is easy to use.  Just run it and check the update of wireless card you don't want installed and that's all.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/3073930

In addition, it does not temporarily hide updates.  The skin is permanent, unless you run the tool again and select Show updates and uncheck the one (s) you want to install.

I saved the tool in a folder on my PC for future use.
