You can only change an AMD FM2 + APU

The FM2 + compatible processors are listed on this link from HP. See the section upgrade processor.

Just about any interior 6 GB/s SATA SSD will be compatible, with the exception of NVMe types.

SSDS m2 are not compatible.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC - Upgrade processor

    Hello

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC.  Due to a new job, I need to update my processor of the current 2.30 GHz (see exact specifications below, please) of at least 3.0 GHz.

Is there a processor 3.0 GHz there that is compatible with this particular computer? I called tech support and they told me they don't know. I don't know who else to ask.

This computer was purchased just a few months ago (before I got the new job). I really don't buy a new computer, if possible, if I can upgrade the processor in it.

Here are the current processor specifications:

    Intel Core i7 3610QM
    Codename Ivy Bridge
    RPGA Socket 988 B package
    The 22nm technology
Specification Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz

    Thanks in advance.

Well, it seems that one (that I found) 3.0 GHz processor that Intel made for my chipset (HM77 Express Chipset) and it's the Extreme edition i7-3940XM (http://ark.intel.com/products/71096/)

Priced at $1,000 +, it looks like I'll be shopping for a new computer.

Don't know if anyone from HP read the peer forums, however, I won't buy another HP product.

This machine had problems outside of me needing to upgrade the processor for my own personal reasons. Your support is grossly lack in all areas even pull your techscannot model with the serial number.

More recent versions of the UEFI suport Sapphire cards if it is stated in the specs on the website of the company. Perhaps you should consider returning and its replacement by a new PCIe card.

Here is the list of specifications to Sapphire in the link below. Notice that most of the R9 series supports UEFI. There is no map of R7 series made my Sapphire Tech who take care of UEFI.

    Hello

You're wasting your time upgrading to Windows 7 with only 512 MB of RAM

    Read what it takes:

    Windows 7 system requirements

If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

    • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x 86) or (x 64) 64-bit processor

    • 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

    • 16 GB of disk space available (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

    Hello

I can't find the full specs of your computer:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-G4-notebook-PC-series/5186805/model/5374496/product-info

But I can answer here using information from other G4 computers:

    (a) for CPU: you need to replace the motherboard too and it is a very expensive upgrade. Please read the manual on the link third next (page 84):

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-G4-notebook-PC-series/5186805/model/5374496/manuals

    (b) no doubt a no, can't you straight up to 90% of laptops can't do this part, including yours.

    Kind regards.

  • Upgrade processor for HP Pro 3010 SFF

Hi I need a help and advice, I have a HP Pro small Form Factor (SFF) descktop PC which I use mainly for games and watch video, over the last months, I found myself upgrading things lag on it as the graphics card and RAM. This is a fantastic little machine, I came to realize, and I want to make the most of what I can.

    My question is this:

What is the best processor I can put in my machine to make it faster and I use this system for game will it improve at all and final question is I need to upgrade the BIOS because it is something that I haver ever done before.

Another thing is I need upgrade of power for optimum power or is the fine provided for this?

    Regards all, Jay.

    You should be fine then.

Your power is 10W higher than mine, which compensates for the difference in the current video card absorbed.

The problem is with mine for example, is feeding is owner and there is no better P/S offered by HP for my model.

I don't know if the P/S is owner for your model, so I can't advise you about the upgrade.

However, with everything being written, I think you will be OK with the current P/S and the nvidia card and a Q9650.

You would certainly be OK with the E8600, but I don't see that as a very big jump to what you have now and probably not worth it.

Here is the comparison next to the three... Yours, E8600, Q9650.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/compare/35428, 35605,36503

The E8600 is faster and double a hiding as the E7500 which is good, but the Q has 4 times the cache twice, carrots and is more rapid (GHz) as yours.

I really don't think that increasing FSB speed is important because the chipset that your PC has only runs at 1066 MHz memory, no 1333 HMz.

  • HP dv6-7220us: want to upgrade processor 7220us dv6

    Hello community HP,

I'm a dv6-7220us, and I want to upgrade the processor. I already updated to the maximum of 16 GB ram, but I need more 5 cores to run a program that I need. I was wondering what I need to upgrade the processor and what would be the most important, I could go with without having to buy a new motherboard?

Well I am trying to run Autodesk Revit and requires 10 GB ram and 6 minimum hearts to work. I can't find the motherboard P/N, unless I take it all goes, I am a little hesitant to do that I don't know my way around a laptop that well and I don't really have the time to fix it if something is not bad. I've seen other laptops come with i6 and i7 processors so I was just wondering if it was possible to be upgraded before going to my local electronic store and jostling in the purchase of a new laptop.

Number of room in new laptops are in the battery compartment. If you need you'll have number of cores to come by the office. Laptop does not come with 6 hearts currently because of the restriction of heat / thermal and more likely price would be high. There is no i7 or i5 i6 and not unless your outlet and the advice is for the new processors iNtel you cannot simply move to those. Your needs require a computer desktop respond to your deduction limit to the core no laptop currently cannot do.

  • LaserJet 500 color M551: Firmware upgrade - go directly or perform step-upgrade?

I need to update the firmware on my printer (LaserJet 500 color M551). I'm new to support printers and it's the first printer, I need to update firmware on a client.  The firmware is version 2302908_435020. I need to upgrade to 2307851_000057.  There are about 4 or 5 versions between my current version and the latest version.

Anyone know if I can go straight to the latest version or do I need to a stage-setting day?  I don't want to break anything if the versions break problem.

    Thank you.

    As far as I know:

    • Each version of firmware includes usually all fixes in previous versions of incremental firmware.
    • You can get the latest version of the firmware on the HP site - for your printer, it's the 2307851_000057 version you mentioned.

I advise you to download and read the README file for this update of the firmware.

  • upgrade processor G7-1150

I have a g7-1150 and I want to upgrade to an i3 with intel to an i7 from intel.

is it possible without changing the motherboard? Or with the evolution of the motherboard?

What parts with part numbers would be necessary. I know this is an advanced, upgrade but that doesn't bother me that I just want to know if it is possible and what are the references?

    S/N: {content removed}

    Thank you

    Hello again TechGirl76.

First of all, I took a glance to the HP part Surfer laptop page. This usually allows to see what parts are available for the laptop. If you notice, there is no separate "processor" section so that it doesn't appear that one processor was available and it comes with the printed circuit board.

Second, I noticed this chipset uses the laptop computer, it uses the Intel HM55 chipset. If you view page specs Intel here you can see what processors are compatible with this chipset. Now, it is important to note that the chipset supports it doesn't mean it will work in Notepad. This laptop does not have upgrade options and is probably designed for the processor, with which he came. It can even not able to properly feed a much more powerful than an i7 processor.

So, in your case it is really impossible to say that one of these processors would result in a successful upgrade without significantly changing the internal compenants. If you need to upgrade the processor try to pick one that is as similar as possible who would be more likely to work.

I hope it's useful. If you have any other questions let me know. Have a great day!

  • upgrade processor to support PAX, NX, SSE2

trying to upgrade windows 8 for windows 8.1. need to upgrade the processor to PAX, NX, SSE2 support

    Your HP Media Center m7160n desktop supports the following processors;

    Socket: 775
Pentium D (Smithfield) up to 3.2 GHz
Pentium 4 (Prescott) up to 580 and 670

It does not appear that any of these processors supports SSE2 PAX, NX. There is no processor to replace it with. You will need to buy a new processor, memory, new motherboard, etc. It may be easier and better just buying a new computer.

  • Upgrading processors N100 0689-29U

I've seen several posts on upgrades of the processor for the N100 and I wondered if they work for all types of N100 laptops.

Mine is a type of N100 0689-29U that currently has an Intel Centrino Duo T2300 (1.66 GHz). I would like to move to something of 2 GHz or more if possible. I am running 2 GB of RAM, which was the max Lenovo said that will support the machine.

The reason for my upgrade is an attempt to accelerate a fire modeling program that I am running. Is it a upgrade processor speed up my computing power or would I waste my money?

    Thank you.

You have the format socket M, which are compatible with the following types of CPU.

    Intel Core Solo
    Intel Core Duo
    Intel Core 2 Duo (T5x00, T7x00)
    Intel Celeron M

However, there is a limited support for the version chip Socket M Core 2 Duo T7x00, a bios flash may be needed to do their jobs, but most of these Core 2 Duo chips are quite expensive.

CPU represents that part of the bottleneck of performance in a laptop, there is also the factor of GPU, ram, optimization of the software and hard disk file fragmentation.

If you're going to get a CPU, you should consider the T7x00 series, however, they run a tad warmer that CPU you have now.

But rather than make an upgrade with your laptop, I probably just save money and get a half decent job for modeling programs.
