Pavilion HPE h8xt power supply concern

I'm considering buying a new HPE h8xt, specifically this one.  I also want to add a 120 GB SSD and I fear the standard 300W power supply will not be sufficient.  I know an SSD does not a lot of power but the computer seems already sorely in motorized with 16 GB of RAM, Blu - Ray, 1 GB DDR3 1 TB HDD and AMD Radeon HD 7570.

Can you make a recommendation? I talked to HP support and they said that was enough, but I find that hard to believe.  I don't want food dying on me after 6 months because it is more work. Also, it would void the warranty on the power supply if I add an SSD?  I can see HP being a pain on this one.

Hello

Great choice for an upgrade of the power supply with the Corsair CX500. Yes it fits the case and it has lots of power for larger video cards if you decide to upgrade to a video card more great.

For the same price, you might want to consider this SSD 830 of Samsung. It has a high rating in a couple of recent magazine articles.  The OCZ Vertex III who I use were noted in magazines of same last year.  I have no opinion on the Kingston SSD.  Revise the rates of I/O that choose your SSD. All three appear to be close.

What would I do? I'm pretty handy to autour material exchange and migration of images.

  • Support for VMWare VT on HP Pavilion HPE h8xt

I just bought a new HP Pavilion HPE h8xt and want to use VMware player to create a virtual using Windows 7 64-bit computer.  When I tried to do, VMware has informed me that I had to enable VT in the BIOS.  I restarted the machine and press F1 and F10 and have a 2.10.1206 interface of American Megatrends, who informed me that THE system BIOS has been CHG_705.ROM v7.05.  Anyway, I can't find any associated BIOS Setup option.

The processor is an i7 2600, which is quite common.  This processor supports VT?  I just need to load a new BIOS?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Trailway,

You should be able to boot into the bios and look for VT usually, it is disabled by default. You might find that it listed on the tab of the System Configuration.

Run this program.    Test for 64-bit hardware  She say on the hardware virtualization?  Yes or no?

Another test would be to download and use PC Wizard. Click processor under the hardware then scroll to virtualization. It should indicate Yes and if it is enabled or disabled.

What is the number of exact product for your PC?

I do not have the Intel i7 - 2600 k but my bios is different from the bios of your PC.

  • HP pavilion elite hpe-035sc: power supply wattage

    Hello

    I have a hp pavilion elite hpe-035sc

    Product number: VS311AA

    I7 870 2.9/8 GB ram/500 GB

power supply: 460w delta electronics dps-460 DB A (it has a connector 6 power pins)

I recently added an asus gtx 550 ti and it worked

I'm worried about the power supply, do you not think that it is enough

checked the power supply and I found:

    max power: 460w

    power combined 12va + 12vb + 12vc equal to 385 W (it does average?)

    THX

It should not be any problems with the installation at all. Just do yourself the favor of not not overclocking the card.

Delta POWER supply has enough good specs for a mainstream card like the one you have installed.

  • What graphics card work on a p7-1026 Pavilion without a power supply upgrade?

I just bought a Pavilion p7-1026. This is my first of all the computer set purchase because I always had my made-to-order systems. The CPU and the size of the hard drive and the plug is quite good for the price (I was looking for a cheap replacement for an old office) but I would like to make a few other updates. I'll add another 8 GB of memory, but I would also add a graphics card because I don't like the built-in graphics card.

Is there a graphics affordable (about $100) with a minimum of 256 MB of memory, which runs on the power supply 250 watt existing and with no electrical connection needed? I watched some, but I've seen as low as 300 watts. If I need to replace the power supply, how can I find a compatible with this system. I looked at a site ('911' something) that has had a lot of listed HP models but not this one.

    Jay,

Beyond that, you walk down this road, you really need to open the case.

It only has 4 slots for memory and probably (2) 2 GB and (2) sticks of 1 GB of DD3-1333 PC3-10600.

Your will does not add anything, you need to replace all with 4 GB sticks (4) If your planning an upgrade.

New models are hard to return. You'll need to find the power supply model # for all references.

BTW, this characterization of 250W is mounted. The (constant) nominal value is most likely 200W.

  • P7-1510: HP Pavilion p7-1510 Power Supply Upgrade

I want to get a decent (and affordable) graphics card for my desktop but know I have to add a more powerful POWER supply. What is a decent 500-watt power supply? What is appropriate for my case and it's something that I can install myself? I'm a little bit saved computer... but also know a good local computer shop I couldn't get to. thanks.

    You are welcome.

Yes, the Thermaltake PSU works perfectly.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer.  If you look at the customer reviews, it is rated 3 eggs with 228 comments.  Therefore, if you buy a brand that is not quality it will not last as long.  The PSU is the component most replaced in the computer because of the work he does.  I always recommend Corsair products because they are passionate about quality with a reasonable price.  I hope that answers your question.

  • HPE-510 power supply t

What is a standard ATX power supply or the owners? Only 300 watts I see that need to be upgraded when you install another video card.

    Thank you!

Thanks - I was hoping that this was not something funky, as Dell is/does, where it looks like a standard PS but is wired differently.

  • Pavilion dv7-6135dx: power supply for Pavilion dv series

I have a pavilion laptop dv7 is about 2-1/2 years. I just had to replace after it does not charge while plugged in the battery. I always ran my laptop plugged in and just developed this problem about 5 weeks ago. I received the spare cord recall. Now with the new battery installed, it still will not charge so that hip upward and running. I called the Geek Squad at Best Buy, which has replaced the battery. They said to turn off the unit and allow it to charge for 8 hours. Then the battery charged. So now, I'll have to turn off the laptop at all times to keep the battery charged. It will take a full load of 6-1/2 hours. I think that the power adapter is going or gone bad. It happened to someone else out there? Should I order a new adapter or just to treat the problem and turn off the laptop for the battery to charge?

I ended up having to replace the battery because it was defective. The motherboard was not the problem.  But in the long run, it was actually the adapter that has gone wrong and killed the battery cells. I bought a smart adapter HP at Best Buy, plugged in, turned on the laptop and Yes, it started to load the runtime so solve my problem. I had no idea that the AC adapter might go bad after just 2-1/2 years, but he did. Hope this ends up helping someone else.

  • HP pavilion dv6-1352dx power supply issue

Hello. My hp pavilion dv6-1352dx crossed a State gradually after that I received a warning to consider replacing the battery. Using Windows 7, 32-bit. Now seeing AC is turned on when it's plugged in but the battery charging light keeps blinking and turns off after a while. Tried holding down the power button / stop and from ac only who worked initially but turns off after a few seconds and now does not work yet. Looking for solution for 8 months now. Hard drive works with other PCs and have reset the memory. Thank you.

I suspect the module plug AC, which is removable and replaceable and not very expensive. It could be a bad mother, however.

  • Printer HP OJ6700 blocks desktop HP Pavilion HPE h8xt

I called the service of Concierge of Costco today - once more.  This rep has changed my printer from USB port wireless.  He also checked my computer completely.  I am in place and running and the printer and the computer are now great in my opinion.  Of Costco Concierge service thank you!  YES, COSTCO!

I bought the computer of the subject through Costco.com in June 2012.  I bought the printer object in a Costco store in August 2012.

The printer prints sometimes and the computer turns off, or if the printer is turned on for a few minutes, the computer turns off without printing anything. I tried to fool it by printing and put off the printer. It does not either.

I made many calls to Costco Concierge Services.  They have tried very hard to help me and me connected to HP twice.  HP said the printer is properly connected and functioning properly.

Today, Costco asked me to perform a diagnostic check.  My computer has adopted smart check and DST Long in the verification of the System Diagnostics base HP.  I just put ink costs about $100 in the printer.  I think I've been very patient.  Can someone help me solve this problem until I throw the printer out the window as my return period has expired.           Thank you.

Sorry for the confusion.  I do not understand how to let you know that my problem has been resolved.  So I clicked on edit and wrote that Costco has finally solved my problem in my original post.  You can delete this entire post.  Thank you.

  • Pavilion HPE h8xt: device disconnect sound parts despite nothing being disconnected

Yesterday, all of a sudden my speakers have begun to read the sound device disconnect. I checked my device manager and nothing was wrong. Then I disconnected all my plugs in the back of my Tower and reconnected, but again, I could hear. I also did a scan of my hard drive looking for errors and found a little, but always I hear the device disconnect sound. At the beginning it was associated with my move my mouse cursor, but lately, hear the noise, even if I do nothing.

    I am really confused here.

I (finally decided to switch my HP mouse wireless model and now no more unwanted sounds. My office is 3 years old and I think I've received my HP mouse to fall on the hard floor, perhaps 10,000 times. I guess the mouse had suffered significant brain damage as a result and become dysfunctional.

    Problem solved (I hope)

Thanks to all who have tried to solve my problem.

  • Pavilion p6000 series p6633w: power supply upgrade

Is the format of p6633w and atx pavilion for the power supply compatible, I couldn't find a HP 400w PSU.  They offer a?  The power supply I found is in atx format.

Thank you for the additional information.

The power supply unit (PSU) is a standard ATX.  You can use any brand.  As a precaution, I suggest to measure the PSU existing and comparing measures to whichever you choose.  I love Corsair products.  In addition, a modular power supply is good for cases of average size.  You can only use the cables needed to allow better air circulation in the case.  I recommend at least 500W.  This will allow more power over the maximum use.

Please click on the button + Thumbs up if I helped you and click on accept as Solution If your problem is resolved.

  • Can I switch from a graphics without a new power supply on the Pavilion p6120t?

Have your desktop Pavilion p6120t with power supply 250w... I was wondering if any of "recommended" card graphic 512 MB (GeForce G210, Radeon HD4350 and nVidia GeForce GT 120) would be OK with 250 watts?

MC, I would be very skeptical about upgrading the video card without upgrading the PSU.  250W POWER simply do not have the power to run a more powerful video card.

  • HP pavilion a1710n power supply needs replacement.

I have an old HP Pavilion a1710n desktop power supply crashed and burned and needs to be replaced.  I've never been on a power supply on this computer before I upgraded memory and dial-up fans in the past.

I already ran through the list control to full power on this site to confirm that it is food that is broken and needs replacement and no cord or anything else.

I also confirmed what power to order part.  At this point, I just need to see a video of step by step on how to replace the power supply inside the computer tower or read the good strong guidelines for how to do it.

    Some advice there?

    Thank you

It doesn't seem to be a video on the site of HP but it is an easy process.

    (1) turn off your computer and disconnect the power supply. Remove the power cord from the power outlet.

    (2) open the casing and place the computer on its side (open side upward).

    (3) take pictures where going to each power cable.

    (4) disconnect all power connections.

    (5) remove the four screws on the back of the housing supply by keeping in place.

    (6) turn the power off (can be a "locking tab" now in place.

    (7) reverse the steps to install your new power supply.

Refer to photos for the location of the place where to reconnect the power cables.

Looks like you need to replace the power supply. You can buy the same HP unit or replace it with something like the Corsair CX500 if you wish.
