Pavilion M6-1045dx: problem of recovery media

I'm working on a cover of my laptop cousins.  The hard drive is dead and I had to order the recovery from HP media.  I just received the other day and started the recovery with a new hard drive.

Everything was fine until I got the second dvd.  Then he stops at 71% and tells me it's a read error and asks me to click OK to try again.  I'm doing and the message comes back on the same file (wish I had the name of file, but I turn off the laptop).

I retried a couple of times.  Same message.  I returned the drive 1 recovery.  Everything was fine until the second dvd again and stopped 71% on the same file.

I think that the media, that I received from HP has a problem.

How to send me the second dvd yet?

Thank you.

I ask that your question is raised. A person of HP will soon contact you. Please be patient as it is a holiday season in the United States.

Ask to have the set of recovery disks replaced with HP usb recovery media. Usb support is much more reliable and more sustainable.

my laptop is HP envy x 360 bought around December 2015(it is still guaranteed).

Today, I had a problem with my laptop (inaccessible boot device error) and a HPteam even could not able to solve it and told me that the recovery order media disk.

    the problem is:

I bought the laptop in the United States when I was a customer place and now I am in India .

HP India has informed me that they will not consider my request for recovery media order disk since I bought the laptop outside the India and told me to contact them.

    My question is

How can I order the disc of recovery in India?

    Hello

First of all, you can download microsoft iso and burn it to DVD or USB without needing a key, so do a good job of it for future use.

If you have a real Windows 10 installation the system map is saved as your key with microsoft, so you do not need a new.

Once you have fixed starting problems, MAKE YOUR OWN RECOVERY MEDIA IMMEDIATELY.

Jelly Beanstalk will find your product key for future use, but it is locked to the system board.

Piriform Speccy and Belarc Advisor will also add your serial number for a knowledge need.

    If in doubt please ask.

Hey guys, try to create USB recovery media. Want to know if the Encrypt-a-Stick Lexar software should be removed from USB before that. Or, can be used to password protect the USB recovery media? Don't think it's necessary, but if it can be used I could go that route. Thank you, pcpunk

  • Pavilion g6-2306el: Windows 10 recovery media

    Hello

When I bought the HP Pavilion laptop g6, it came with a recovery with 8.0 Windows and drivers and pre-installed software partition. Subsequently I've updated for Windows 8.1u by the store Windows and Windows Update, and I try now Windows 10 TP build 9926.

I intend to update Windows 10 once it is out, but I think that it would give rise to this problem: once I have started using Windows 10, how it would be possible for me to do a system reinstall directly to Windows 10, as well as preinstalled software and drivers? HP will offer recovery of such media for clients who decide to take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10?

    Thank you very much.

I don't think you will find that Windows 10 miss a lot of pilots.

The specific drivers of HP would be in the folder that we have discussed before, while we are still useful to save.

Windows 10 deals with the installation of the driver and devices like no other system of Windows OS that preceded it.

  • Pavilion P7-1120: problems of recovery

My password to open my computer failed. There will be a series of number 5 in the space where I have to enter my password to start the computer. I could not remove it.  When I tried the number of 5 series coins automatically.

So, I did a restore on my computer. All right.

Now when I try to start a search after you have clicked on the button, the series of the number 5 appears in this space. I can't remove them as they reappear automatically.

Except that everything seems to work OK. I use the computer to check email and print it. The computer is a professional computer until I closed the company. Now, it gets used very little.

I have Norton Internet security installed and all Norton say's OK with my system.

If anyone has an answer to my problem, I would be very grateful.

Because I'm new to this forum, I accepted a solution before trying it.

I want to keep this question open for more possible solutions.

Please wait for none of the HP experts who can check it further. In the meantime, as a first step, I suggest you to check the keyboard and make sure that none of the keys (in particular the "5") are blocked or hit. Given that the issue seems to happen on both space bar and some address password in the same way, especially the issue may be with the keyboard.

  • the system recovery media does not support this computer

I have a HP G7-1365DX and the hard drive (750 GB) is a failure.  I did a recovery file on a USB key from the recovery partition and then replaced the hard drive with a 120 GB SSD.  When I tried to reinstall the USB system, I get the message "the system recovery media does not support this computer."  Is it because the hard drive was replaced by a SSD?  How to restore the system if the recovery disk does not work?

    Hello

You are right about the source of this problem - HP recovery media often has problems of restoring the operating system on a smaller disk in quality than appeared on.

There are a few options available.

    1. if the 750 GB drive is still able to operate, use your recovery media to perform a factory reset and then use software (or Windows 7 own imaging utility) for this clone of your SSD.

2 create your own recovery media to use to run the installation - it would be my personal preference.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

  • Pavilion 23-b244 AiO: the system recovery media does not support this computer

    Hey all,.

I had a power outage (1 TB) HD material on me about a week ago and replaced by a (500 GB) SSD, not purchased from HP.  I then ordered the recovery disc from HP for this particular serial number.  Whenever I boot on the recovery discs, I get "this computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media. "The Minsize argument in the instructions to build on the DVD file provides a minimum of 140 GB, so I don't think I have a new smaller drive system is the question.

Last month I have updated the firmware to v80.08, and in the bios "product name", 'SKU number', 'serial number of the chassis' fields are all empty.  In "System ID", everythign is empty except UUID and family name.

I think that's why I'm not able to boot to recovery discs?

Any help would be appreciated, I have use this computer for quickbooks and have bee unable to do accounting for a week and a half.

Figured it out! On my Pavilion, you press Ctrl + A in the bios then click on 'System IDs'. Then I was able to type in the ID to build my recovery and support the byte to feature on the sticker under my machine. F10 to save then the recovery media recognized the computer properly and booted up!

  • ProBook 450 - second series of recovery media, blue screens windows 7 (win 8 okay, not the hardware problem)

    I had a new HP probook 450 G1.

Immediately, I swapped the 750 GB for one SSD drive and tried to install Windows 7 from the recovery media. The operation has failed. Contact HP support, they sent new media.

I used new media. Windows 7 operating system installed. As soon as I install the drivers, the PC goes in a loop of the blue screen.

I can install the chipset drivers and wifi. Don't know what the other driver is causing the blue screen. I can also install from the windows media 8, so this isn't a hardware problem - wife hates just windows 8.

Basically, please either give me a few troubleshooting steps or I'll go back to the PC. I'm NOT insterested in a manual process long to determine which driver is the problem and the recovery download media manually the drivers one... should work.

After you have reinstalled the original 750 GB hard drive with the replacement media, I managed to an attempt to "recover". So, I decided to sit and try, by the process of elimination, all drivers.

It turns out that the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver was causing the problem. When I installed everything BUT that, the laptop works very well. Notice that I use a fairly new SSD Crucial of M500. It is quite possible there are other people out there see it. You really need to install the driver of rapid storage technology, it is fast enough - not not even 100% sure what good to give the driver.

So I gave myself wrong guidance by the initial recovery of defective media. The second group of work recovery media, but the version of the driver intel 12.7.3.1001 does NOT work with the Crucial M500. I checked the Intel site for driver downloads, and it was not clear that they have a newer driver appropriate right now. Maybe someone else can tell?

  • Recovery media creating problem

Hello, I just bought a X 1 in carbon fiber.

There is a media recovery Q: partition I want to backup to an external hard drive.

When I run the media recovery software, he's looking for a disk to install it to. It is said to reformat this player. I plug my external hard drive which has 2 partitions. 1, the main disk partition and 2) a partition newly formatted specifically for this recovery media, but it detects only the primary partition on my external.

Please can someone explain why it does not detect the other partitions on this external hard drive? I don't want to erase the 2 TB of media, I have on the primary partition of my exterior, and 2 partitoins are formatted using the same type of file system. I did a 40 GB partition to compensate for the files extracted or all the extras.

I just called tech support with my warranty of 3 years Expert Committee and spoke to someone in Georgia who did not have any any idea what either partner computer. She asked me what icons under System properties, I saw and she asked me what my picture "looked like" after that I explained that I was on the partition windows 7 and I could see the Q: drive 'hidden' with the support of recovery on this subject.

So far I'm intensely unhappy with the service that I paid the extra to have problems of this kind. I'm clearly not to get an answer from him on this subject, so if someone here might chime, it would be great.

    Thank you.

Utility to create recovery media is supposed to control the layout of the MBR and the partition on the disk target.  The utility is supposed to create simple, directly bootable recovery media and is intended not simply to do what you want.

    See you soon,.

  • Pavilion HPE h8-1234: computer without recovery media recovery

My hard drive failed and I not create recovery discs. I searched HP's site and found my product but none of the recovery disks were available for Windows 7. They had a recovery media available for my product for Windows 8, but when I tried to browse the site further, I got a 'blank page' (and I'm not even sure I'd be able to use Windows 8, since it was not what was originally installed)

At this point, I'm just trying to understand what are my options for getting an operating system that runs on a new hard drive, so my computer is usable. I'd rather find a way to access the software I had initially at lowest cost possible but if not, what are my other options?

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Sorry, but HP stock no long recovery for older PC Win7 media.

Given that HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/
