  If so, the only remaining possibilities are:
  1. bad mouse. Get a new one.
  2. defective UBS port. Plug the mouse into a different port. See if the right click of the mouse works this time.

  I see that the Web Site of Toshiba UK does not list the reader pionting device for your laptop model. So I assume that it should use the standard version of Windows XP.

  Check in for your pointing device Device Manager to see if it is showing up with errors. Also, you should be able to run a troubleshooter for it and perhaps also a calibration tool. (You may need to move around with the arrow keys or tab).

  If all else fails, you can try to recover your system with the recovery CD and that the pointer is still not working properly, then this would indicate a hardware fault.

  In any case, have you ever tried to use the Toshiba Recovery disk? Maybe it s just a software problem and a few important Windows files are destroyed or don t work properly. Reinstall Windows using the recovery disk Toshiba takes only a few minutes and there are already all the drivers and tools integrated.
