Pavilion MS225: all on one black screen help
Hi, from Thursday morning, I noticed a light flickering on the screen on and off during the day, then that night, the screen went black all of a sudden, I could put in sleep mode and wake him up, things went very well after that. I turned it off for the night and kept overnight get this screen black (I could barely see the bottom of screen and icons) but I was able to see my login page for a few seconds when wake-up mode 'sleep'.
I went to updates and saw that the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver need updated, so I tried and failed so he can install from Windows. I could see the screen enough to get on the industrial site and uninstall and reinstall. I reinstalled graphic discs too. Now, it seems to work very well, not black screen or flashing for about 5 hours now since the update the Realtek device. I was wondering if that was the question all along, is that this driver not getting updated cause screen problems? I also installed AMD Catalyst Install Manager and it updated the drivers.
Honestly, I don't know much about computers and it is the only one I also gives access, any help would be appricated! Thank you
Hi there @slyn1234,
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, HP experts and other support staff. I understand that your computer screen went black, and after updating the driver it works again. I'm happy to help you with this.
In response to your question, as to whether that was the problem, I'll give you a qualified Yes. It may be that the driver has been updated but that something has happened to the existing driver, the file has been corrupted, or another program or driver was installed that are in conflict. Another option is that a setting has been changed somewhere; There are several possibilities.
If this kind of thing happens again, see if you can boot your system with the help of computers HP - safe mode of Windows 7. Windows safe mode will load with the base drivers and is a way to access your system, if it seems that there is a software problem. Can be modified in Mode safe as parameters to display, or drivers, or uninstalled applications that may not be easy to dismantle a normal start.
Another useful to look at document is: HP PC - computer won't start (Windows 7). I hope this helps.
Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

2305 Dell all-in-one - black screens random
Model purchased Feb 2011. Good reliable system, however in the last 2 weeks, after coming down from system, it crashes on black screen after sitting idle for 10 minutes about. He turns not off - just goes to black. Then I have to turn it off. When I go back to the task, I restart and all right until I get off system and then 10 minutes later, the screen goes black. I would like to look inside to check the status of the dust, but not sure whether or not the back detaches. This sounds like an overheating situation? Maybe I should run the diagnostic on it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Won't start at all. just a black screen. Only the satrts upward on safe mode
Restore point:
Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
Help! -Acer Aspire all-in-one touch screen after upgrade Windows 8 Pro
Hi all!
This is a rather confusing questions and about * me off no end! I know that some of you may have encountered this already and could have a potential solution?
I have an Acer Aspire all-in-one, AZ5101 (Aspire Z5101), with 4 GB of RAM, etc..
Since the Developer Preview of Windows 8 came out, I've been running Windows 8 perfectly. I completely uninstalled (each time itself) and run the following:
Windows 8 Developer Preview, 64-bit
Windows 8 Preview of consumer, 64-bit
Windows 8 Preview, 64-bit version
In any case, on this PC worked perfectly - y INCLUSIVE of the TOUCH SCREEN. I never had a problem.
So far so good. Then, they finally released updates Windows 8 Pro official licensed by download. I bought the upgrade and downloaded. Just like in * ALL * other cases, upgrade, I chose "keep nothing" of the old system (I never really got all the important data on here), and do the upgrade itself.
After the upgrade was complete, and ALL Windows 8 Pro updates have been applied by Windows update, I have a system where the screen is clear and precise, everything works, and all devices in Device Manager, show the Greens well, it works fine - NO ERRORS. HOWEVER - NO CONTACT! No touch no screen function at all. The screen now has this time as a standard monitor.
I tried the driver Idéacom - no luck. Anyone know (please? LOL) how to get the touch screen to work again? Thank you very much! I really appreciate any help you can give. Microsoft technical support had NO idea and no reply emails from Acer! Laughing out loud
Thanks again,
Mike
HP pavilion 22xi backlit monitor goes black screen when using
I have
led screen have a HP Pavilion 22xi. It is a year and no warranty left. He started to go to a black screen when you use it. I have to unplug the monitor for the display. the power light lights up but won't stop him. I saw a few ppl having the same problem, without success to get this resolved. I tried external monitor on another laptop and have the same problem. I replaced the AC adapt power and also downloaded the drivers for the monitor. It's very frustrating. I tried to reset to factory setting, and nothing changes. It works for a while, then all of a sudden go to black screen and I have to unplug it from the back. Please help...
My desktop computer with Windows 8.1 HP says that it has been updated apps this morning for about 10 minutes. Never seen that before. The entire screen changed colors as I associate the colors of the subway. Reports came as Taking care of Stuff, do not turn off your pc, please wait, close to... etc. After that, he went to a white screen, white a grey taskbar and a metro start button that does nothing. When I run the Task Manager, it says there is no process running. I have a key to recovery, but there is so much to lose if I do that. Although I happily backup of files. I get a screen flash, then a login where I can put my password, everything looks normal. Then it goes to this blank black screen with the Metro useless start button at the bottom left. I would appreciate help!
I can get into the Task Manager and there is no one under USERS?
No listed process?
If I try to run Explorer from the Task Manager, it says "the server could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect." Check the user name and password?
I thought I had a fix. I get to the logon screen with my photo. Ther right there is an icon of power. If you hold SHIFT and restart it goes to troubleshooting. I've tried everything. Finally, I tried USING A HARD DISK and I stuck the USB Flash Recovery drive, I did. When the computer reboots, it goes to logon. I connect (with the flash is connected) and YAHOOODY everything is back. My office job and complete. I thought a lot. I ran several spyware programs, did a restore and released the flash player. Rebooted and the same problem I'm talking about in the above paragraph.
What is missing from the pc. The user info is corrupt? Go? Why having the USB connected stick recovery allows me to login and see all normal? I would appreciate so no help. Thank you. Jack {":-Dx}
Black screen after startup, so I followed the reset instructions found here http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-11-p100-x360-convertible-pc/8901683/document/c03518165.
I have disconected battery maintained the power button and when I started the PC without the battery connected to the screen worked. After I turned off the PC and reconnected the battery, the screen was black again. So I reset it again a moment the screen works, but I must have tha connected PC and the battery disconnected.
Is this a problem with the battery, the motherboard or something else? If I replace the battery it will wok again?
Thank you
Tom
Hi @tldr60,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!
I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion laptop x 360 PC and problems with the battery. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings.
Here is something you can try:
Step 1. Go to the Device Manager
Step 2. Select the stacks
Step 3. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
Step 4. Click on uninstall
Step 5. At the command prompt, put a checkmark in the box to remove the current driver
Step 6. Shut down the computer
Step 7. Installation of back in the stack.
Step 8. Go to the Device Manager
Step 9. Select the stacks
Step 10. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
Step 11. Click "automatically search for an updated driver.I hope this helps you. You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop. I recommend adding 2 or 3 days before, it happened.
When running a system restore note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.
Please let me know how it goes.
By clicking on the Thumbs Up below, you can say thank you! .
Thank you.
Nowhere on my HP Pavilion dm4 close last night and does not restart. When I turn on the computer, I get a black screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left corner. I ran a variety of diagnostics and all seems OK (i.e. no error message).
I am able to start the computer in mode 'Media' - and I see all my files. However, I'm unable to start the computer normally. Help, please.
My computer is old - 1 year and 25 days to 25 days outside the warranty period.
Thank you.
Before that happened, my laptop has been extremely slow and unresponsive this is why I decided to do a clean install of the operating system. My laptop was still slow and be insensitive. I have the installation could of thought was wrong somewhere so I reinstalled the operating system again, but the same problem. I installed some updates and Service pack 1. Restarted my laptop and then receive the SMART drive problem.
Thank you
Replacing the hard drive means a re-installation of the operating system. Resettlement reign essentially all software issues that may have accompanied the failure of your hard drive. So the answer is Yes it should solve the problem.
If you don't have recovery media please contact HP using the information provided above. I suggest you contact instead of trying to create your own media. As this will probably be very difficult and problematic on a failing hard drive.
