Pavilion of the BIOS

I have a Pavilion dv9000 Laptop computer series (9260ur) running Vista Ultimate.  I increased the size of the hard drive and did 3 called partitions, OS, HP Recovery and local.  I wanted to create a dual boot system using the local partition.  When I tried to load the system, I got a message "no disk in drive found."  I went into the BIOS and found that the info on the home page had a line following the Vista operating system and could not be changed.  I think this may be the problem.  Is there a BIOS available that will detect the installed hard drives and allow me to install another operating system?

Thanks for any answers

You don't mention what OS you are trying to install as a double. If you try to install XP, it is because of the SATA hard drive and no drivers included in XP.

I is gone to look for the BIOS file from the HP site and tried a "manual" installation, but got the message "error-: BIOS ROM file crash report" and the installation has failed once more

The update of the BIOS you are trying to install is not listed for your computer.  You can install updates that have been developed for it.  In addition, you can install updates of BIOS that were developed for the original operating system that is installed on the computer.  The only update to win 10 is SP73356.

  • Pavilion of the bios of windows 7 for the Elite m9350f

I have fixed my PC after a hard disk crash when installing a new hard drive with a new installation of windows 7 by replacing the Vista which is preinstalled.  My PC records many cases of event ID 12 indicating "the platform firmware corrupted memory through the transition from the previous system power. Please check updated firmware for your system. "I guess that means to search for an update of the motherboard BIOS?  Motherboard M2N78 - THE (HP P/N 489363-001 Rev A01), currently has a review of BIOS 5.18 dtd 11/04/08.  Load the terms of the most recent update of BIOS revisions 5.29 5.08 and 5.16 block.  I don't know what BIOS my PC needs to use and would appreciate some advice on how to fix the error event ID 12.

    Thank you

Needsumhepvwrote... I want to run the mc in ahci mode and I want to know if it's ok to just go into the setup and upgrade the latter without having to reload vista. I heard some people that you cannot do this and others that it's ok. Just try to make sure.

I tried RAID on AHCI change on my p6130y and the computer refuses to start and blue screens. This configuration change can work for you, but then again it can't be. You need to just try and see. If it won't start after changing the setting, simply change this back.

Honestly, you must assign the SATA RAID, AHCI or IDE controller before installing the operating system. This way Windows is configured correctly at the beginning of the installation.

I have a Hp Pavilion a1620n with a motherboard ASUS P5LP - THE using Phoenix Technologies Bios VER.3.16 and running Windows 7. I want to upgrade the processor and said that I have to upgrade the Bios before upgrading the processor. I have been researching but can't find any info on how to do it for this particular machine. There is no on-board Bios Flash program and I can't seem to find any information. Any ideas?

    AZ_scuba_dude, welcome to the forum.

There is no update software/BIOS for Win7 for the computer.  It is unlikely that there will be a developed.  However, there is a BIOS update for XP.  You will need to do a system restore to the original configuration that includes XP.  Once this operation is complete, you can update the BIOS to version: 3.19.  You can do the update using the executable file (sp35100.exe). Although she did not mention anything about what makes the upgrade of the processor.  Here are the Specifications of the motherboard of the computer.  In the processor upgrade information section, it lists the updates that supports HP.

  • HP Pavilion dv4-1120br: doubts about the BIOS update for my model with the operating system current instaled.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1120br, I know that this model of HP laptop is old, but I instaled the 64 bit of Windows 10 on my machine and saw that my BIOS is version F.30 and the last of them available on the site of HP F.66 has.

The problem is that this model is not suport for Windows 10 because, as I said, is too old. Can I download and run the update of the BIOS for Windows 7 64-bit available in the Web site, or I need to downgrade my OS to Windows 7, update the BIOS and then pass it back to Windows 10?

    Thanks for the help!

    Cantarino

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Your second proposal is correct - as the updates to the BIOS on the HP site are specific to the OS version and if you try to run one for Win7 in Win10, it will refuse to run.

  • How to access the BIOS on a Pavilion Elite e9237c with mouse and keyboard wireless?

I have a desktop computer Pavilion Elite e9237 with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I tried to access the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup with no luck, and I can't access any of the other menus for the start-up eiither. I don't have a PS/2 port on my computer, so I can't get a wired keyboard and mouse. Does anyone know how to access the BIOS with this configuration?

I bought a USB keyboard and he answered in the same way... No bios access. I then studied why it did not work and discovered that it was the way in which he has been connected to the computer. I had initially plugged into a USB hub when he was not working and I moved it directly into a USB port and it works! I plugged my keyboard wireless directly into the USB port and it works too! Thanks for your help... I wouldn't have thought of it if it wasn't for to recommend you the USB keyboard.

    Greetings,

I am currently a few problems with my operating system. I need to change some settings in the bios of my P6-2310EF, but a password is requested.

I read a few posts on this forum and it seems that the password is factory set. Is it possible to get the password for this model of the Pavilion?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello:

The reason why you cannot remove the BIOS P/W is due to the fact that the instructions to clear the P/W are incorrect as written.

I rewrote the instructions for you below, and that should fix the problem...

To clear the password BIOS follow these steps:

  • HP Pavilion dv6000 need to reset the BIOS password so I can ennable my wireless network

I bought a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop of a friend and you need to reset the BIOS password because she can't remember it... I can't open an internet oonto session due to my wireless adapter is disabled in the BIOS. Can you help me please... Thank you

Keep trying no matter what password until you get a code of error/halt.

Then, visit the site below & error/halt code allows to get a master password to work.

My computer is HP pavilion p6-2466eo.

    High,

BIOS refuses to boot after a crash HD. The BIOS makes a request of ""power-on-password"which I do not know." Understand that used to be stored on the hard disk, but is no longer available after the failure of HD.

    The motherboard is H-Joshua H61-Μatx.

On this forum the pins of the BIOS recovery are distinguished in the HP documentation.

HP - doc shows 6-pin, the real thing is there are 7, room for 8 with 1 missing pins.

The service doc suggests fidle-around jumpers, but my reality is different and I can't follow this rcommendation

    In short:

HD-crash and replaced by a new one, but the BIOS require a power-on password that miss me.

Jumper in HP - doc's recommendation is different from the reality.

What to do? Thanks for the suggestions

    Hello:

Please see the link below... Follow the instructions under the jumper settings > clear password settings.

Now the written instructions are not complete.

I rewrote the instructions so that you will be able to clear the BIOS P / w.

  • Pavilion a1710n impossible to enter the BIOS from the put in new hard drive

I have a HP Pavilion a1710n desktop initially under Vista Home Premium.  Problem is hard disk came out, I then replaced with a hard drive Western Digital SATA of similar type.  However, now I am unable to enter BIOS using F10 or Escape or by pressing the F1 key turning on the PC.  When I tried to put Vista on the PC, it stopped and gave me an error 0 x 80070002; Lack of D:\Sources\Installation, which I do not know what it means exactly or how to fix it.  I had already updated the Vista Home Premium to Win7 Pro.  Given that the disc is a disc update of Win7, guess I'll have to reinstall Vista first and then update again to Win7 Pro?  At the moment everything I have on the PC is the new hard drive without any Windows operating system and my PC doesn't seem to be reading the new hard drive, I think, and in the Start Menu, it is shown as 3rd master drive and DVD is 2nd Master.  So what happened the 1st master?  No what should be my new hard drive?  I'm always so frustrated and of course, my PC is long out of warranty, although I tried calling support without much help I'm afraid.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello again patticat22,

Thank you for responding to my message. If I understand your reference Bravo you check to see if you can find a solution? If and it would be better to search for accepted Solutions because they are used to indicate that a solution has been found, where a Bravo must indicate appreciate for a position.

As for your question, I think it could be a drive for the failure of the installation that you have and recommend you order another set. I'm you provide a link to the HP Support document: looking for HP recovery discs or a USB HP recovery disk?, which has all the necessary steps to guide you through the ordering a new set of recovery disks. There may be a fee for ordering them, but I think this will solve your problem and get your computer back operational.

So you can try to use the HP support document: removing and replacing the CMOS battery, that you want to remove the battery (keep out 24 hours before putting it again) and put it back. This should clear your BIOS and reset back to factory. If the BIOS is still inaccessible after that, I think it would be best if you contacted technical support HP for repair options.

United States supports Contact link options HP products purchased in the United States.
Outside WE support link to connect with options for HP products purchased outside the United States.

Please re-post though I have well understood you or if you need additional support. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

A black screen, caps lock shift is blicking twice and f12 key is red (WIFI). Nothigs happen. Then, I searched and came to know that it is the failure of the bios. Then I tried some way and nothings worked. ATLAST when I remove the cmos battery it set again after 2 or 1 minute its starts fine. Then againg I turn off the computer and its power day following again the same problem. I was to solve this problem by removing cmos battery and put it again for 4 or 5 days. But today this tip does not work. I tried so many method like (Windows key + B), (byholding down the power button for 1 minute), (Flash UEFI) etc. to solve the problem of failure of the bios, nothing worked at all.
