Pavilion p6-2143w: upgrade graphics card for Pavilion p6-2143w

I found the specs for the office here.  I try to get a medium to low end without graphics card to upgrade the power supply or something else. I tried to install a Nvidia Geforce GT 730 but without success. With this card installed, I turn on my desk and get stopped at the HP screen that says "Press esc for boot options" and pressing esc does nothing. I tried to start in safe mode and disable the integrated graphics card driver and then install the card once again, but always without success. Could someone either tell me why this card didn't work or direct me to a card that works?

This list is not complete.  The manufacturer will increase your success.

The cards known with UEFI/strives switch includes these maps:

(1) MSI 750TI read here

(2) by @erico, ther7 260 and higher cards and the 360 r9and cards higher.

Only the old cards. These are older cards, but excellent performers are:

(1) EVGA GTX 660 and 670 GTX

I tried to replace/upgrade to update my graphics card for my desktop PC. I tried several video cards, but with each one, once it is installed and the computer turned on, the image does not register with the monitor. Everything else seems to work, but the monitor gives no answer. It was only a problem once the original video card has been removed. The current video card, I am trying to install is the NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 730.

In the course of the years, I added a memory and the power supply has been upgraded, but all the rest are always original parts (http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-Desktop-PC-series/5035344/model/5074426/do...

    Thank you.

    Hello

You're dominant, in your case, the most important factor-BIOS compatibility... more recent maps, like the gt730, require the UEFI BIOS to run... you have a LEGACY BIOS system, and cannot do anything, unless you change your motherboard... your pc is a model of early 2011... UEFI standard HP in their systems of end of 2012...

You can watch other maps, if... the 700 series card youre looking at is a maxwell model 2014... There are in this region that come with a feature of hybrid bios which offers wider compatibility on legacy systems... or you can look at maps more old pascal/fermi architecture that work exclusively on legacy BIOS systems...

    Hope this helps

  • Upgrade graphics card for HP Pavilion A6720Y desktop computer

I have the HP Pavilion A670Y desktop computer and was thinking of upgrading the graphics card GeForce 9100 integrated to a Radeon HD5850 and adding a new power which would allow this change. Power side is there a reason that my office would not be able to support the Radeon HD5850?

It's your motherboard.  Make sure that the slot next to the PCI-E x 16 card is open as 5850 is a wide double card.  Your PC has only a 300 watt PSU so 5850 is only in need of a much larger power supply.  Look at the 12 + rating required by the 5850 and then choose the new modular power supply.  Buy not only on power alone.

Your PC has a practice of small Tower and the 5850 will consume more power (wattage) compared to your existing integrated video processor which means more heat. Be prepared to deal with this issue.  The 5850 is perhaps too card for your PC.

Don't forget that your PC system BIOS is up to date.

Open your Pc and clean all the dust. Then a measure of your current diet and buy one that is modular with almost the same dimensions.  Then measure around the PCI-E x 16 slot to make sure that the card fits.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

I play the last Star Wars Old Republic MMORPG (but have difficulties with my ATI 5450).

Is it possible to use e.g. ATI Radeon HD 6950 into my HP Pavilion?

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5450

    Best regards

    Jimmy Svensson

    Hi Jimmy,.

Most, if not all of the mid range and more AMD Radeon video cards provide at least a 400 Watt power supply. Recommended graphics cards are close higher and higher mid-range video cards.

If you don't want to power level video card here's something to consider.

An older but great video card is NVIDIA GT 240 1 GB DDR5. This card does not support DirectX 11 which is eventually used in some of the latest PC games but it's a great performer.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

  • Upgrade graphics card (for Compaq Presario SR1921il [product number: RC566AA])

as my system is old enough for the new technology, I have doubts about the graphics card, it can support...

Make my system of support of these base maps,

    AMD/ATI HD 5450 512 MB DDR2 graphics card,

Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5450 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card and superior? because my is a type of memory RAM DDR2, DDR3 should I use only DDR2 graphics card, or otherwise can be?

I really want to know the maximum range of the graphics card, it can support...

    Thanks in advance...

Your desktop PC are for some time.  (over 6 years)

You should consider upgrading your PC to a more modern unit instead of investing the money in an old. A new video card will not help the old CPU or memory. It will be still slow compared to today's computers.

Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 5450 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card will work fine, but be aware that you must also be upgraded to a 400 Watt or greater POWER supply.  If you do not upgrade the power supply then the video card will not work. Your PC was shipped with a power supply with a capacity of 300 Watts or less. Which doesn't leave you much of a choice if you want to follow your desired upgrade path.

OK, so these are my computer specs: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01570954&lang=en&cc=us&taskI...

Yes, I'm aware that this is not the greatest, but until recently, I've not had many rightly complain about the performance of the graphics card, with which he came. Well, very recently, I got a little a reality check in this field, namely when I tried to run 'The Witcher 2' and * if this game didn't murder my card and take all his valuables.

Because I know that the computer is pretty old, but I don't have enough money for a new computer, I thought I would upgrade my graphics card. The problem is this: I'm a complete newb to the material and I have no idea of what graphics card to get and what to do with it once I have. Anyone here have any useful suggestions?

Once again, his mercy the newb and use simple terms, if you can. Thanks in advance

    Hello

Go to the forum and the website of the manufacturer of games and get a proposal of recommended video card.  You may need to ask questions on the game settings and the impact on the performance of the video card.  From what I've observed for a recommendation of the video card, you need something of the order of the ATI 4850 to the NVIDIA GTX 260.  Two of these video cards require you upgrading of power supply in your PC.

Review the specifications of performance ATI and NVIDIA . Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

In general, I would recommend the NVIDIA GT 240 1 GB with DDR5 that your PC has only a 300 Watt power supply. The GT 240 1 GB becomes hard to find.  This card does not support DirectX 11, but then it is mainly to improve the fine details.

My m9200t is basically identical to your PC and there is not a lot of room inside a video card shorter is better. Open your PC and make sure the adjacent location on the PCI-E x 16 slot (where your existing video card is vacant).

The NVIDIA TI 550 and a 500 Watt power supply should do the work. The Corsair CX500 is good quality food.

BTW, there's a patch out for The Witcher 2.

  • I'll be able to upgrade graphics card for my HP Pavillion to NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti m8530f

Ive looked all over the web without success on a variety of graphics cards that I can install on my desktop. Ive had my eye on NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti, but I need to know if I can get some good graphics out of my machine

    Data sheet:

    Windows Vista Edition home premium

    5120 system memory

    1 TB harddrive

    NVIDIA GeForce 9300GE (Hybrid SLI)

    Hello

The motherboard in your PC has a not very good history.

Open your PC and do some measure to ensure that the GTX 550 will adjust.  This EVGA is a good model, but the ear there are other brands just as good.  The map is 8.25 "long.  The adjacent slot on the PCI-E x 16 slot must be vacant.

You will need a bigger power supply.  A 500 Watt power supply should be sufficient for the GTX 550.

Look at this Corsair CX500. It's good quality food.

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet.  Here is a list of the things to consider:

    1. Specifications
    2. Total power - important
    3. amperage 12 + v - important
    4. Modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
    5. Warranty
    6. I7 and SLI ready
    7. Efficiency rating
    8. Cost
    9. The physical size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths
    10. Only one + 12 volt rail is a better choice.

Fiirstly Hello everyone this is my first post here and I hope to bring good news for some.

A few weeks after lurking here and the net for answers to improve the graphics of 4460 i5 H50-50 trawling, I saw pretty good few results for anything whatsoever on a nvidia gtx 750ti. However, I bit the bullet and got an itx gtx960 gigabyte card and corsair 500w atx power supply...

I can confirm that the installation went as quietly as any other system and im now able to game to a decent quality. Im sure other cards of the 900 series so much that they in good physical shape in the case should be fine.hope this helps...

Im not sure you'd be able to shoot 10 inches, even if you moved the hard drive. Good news but I can't do a mini itx gtx 970 gigabyte 4 GB which must adapt. Good luck
