Pavilion P6787C: I want to upgrade my desktop computer.

Hello, with Black Friday and other deals all week, I tried to make the updates on my desk. However, it is quite old and I don't know what would be not compatible. The office is linked below and thank you for all the help I can get!

http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-p6700-desktop-PC-series/5035348/model/5059049/DOCUME...

What is your motivation for the upgrade?  Maybe a new title of game software.

What version of BIOS of this machine?  It came with WIN7 originally.

Version 8 would reflect the capacity of the UEFI BIOS.   Less than version 8 would limit the graphics card for cards inherited as the GTX660/670 as a max. The PSU max suggest is 600W, and Corsair 600CX is an exact fit.

    @Jeffrin98, welcome to the forum.

I cannot find the specs of the product to the computer.  So, here's what you need to do.  Press Start + R from the view of the office.  This will open a run dialog box.  In the box labeled type msinfo32 opened.  In the page that opens, check the option titled Mode BIOS.  If he says UEFI motherboard is supported by the video card.  If this isn't the case, you will not be able to move forward.

The next step is to measure the space where the card will be installed to ensure that it fits.  Measure from the back i/o port to the front of the case.  This will allow you to see if other ingredients will limit the installation.

The CX500 Corsair power supply (PSU) should work.  However, check how much power requires the video card.  It may be better to buy a PSU with 600W.  High power will be used during peak power needs.  In addition, the card may require additional power connectors.  Also, I recommend a modular power supply.  It allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary, create better air circulation.  It is very important with more powerful graphics cards.  The heat can be much larger.

    Hello

No there is no way, how the do, because the license of Windows Vista is part of the computer compaq laptop - this is the license OEM - and cannot be separated.

(in case the laptop is broken and cannot be repaired, then the license expiresand cannot be used on another computer)

  • HP Pavilion laptop g6: connects to the temporary desktop computer

    HP Pavilion g6 (product no. A3S74EA #BU)

    Windows 7

Why connect me my laptop to a temporary desktop rather than my personal computer? I have disconnected and reconnected, turned market and run a virus scan, but each time it logs me on this temporary desktop computer. This means that I can't access my personal files.

Sorry, I meant the temporary profile. I've sorted it now, however. Start the computer in Mode safe mode and did a system restore and it fixed it. Apparently, there was a critical update?

  • Desktop HP Pavilion p7-1235: how to upgrade my desktop PC bios HP Pavilion p7-1235 to version 8?

I am trying to install a graphics 770 GTX on my computer, but it is still stuck in the first hp screen and then everything freezes.  I did some research and saw that it could be a bios incompatibility and someone said that upgrading the bios to version 8 can solve the problem, but the update does not appear on the hp Web site.

Make sure the motherboard installed is a jasmine.

You should be able to see what your BIOS family is.

Make sure it is ROM family 2AE0...

There is a version 8 available to HP support.  The improvement is to improve the security of code UEFI.

Update of the BIOS can be risky. If you decide to use the ROM BIOS file, you must assume full responsibility for the result.

  • Help! Upgrade of desktop HP-P7-1430

Hello, I am currently trying to upgrade my desktop computer to get the best out of my game. "< br > < br > here is a link to my specs: < a target ="_blank"href ="http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=5295962 & amp... A10-5700 APU with AMD Radeon 7660 D HD graphics card. I think that the GPU can be integrated into the CPU? < br > < br > I want to switch to the video card Nvidia GeForce GTX 660, but I don't know if my rig is compatible. And then there is the question of food. I looked into this myself, but because of my lack of knowledge on this subject, I feel I might be more difficult than it actually is. If you could help me out, I would be very happy.

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion p7-1430. According to the specification, this model has AMD Radeon HD7660D integrated to the APU. In addition, this model has a PCIe x 16 graphics card expansion slot and a 300 Watt power supply.

You need to replace the power supply factory with a more powerful device. It seems that most GTX 660 cards require a minimum of 450 to 600 watts power, depending on the exact card. Please consider the Corsair CX500, CX500M, CX600 or CX600M.

You will also need to measure along the plane of the PCIe x 16 location at the rear of the case further to determine if there is enough space for the card you select. If you find all the obstacles before reaching the length of the card, the card is not appropriate.

  • Upgrade memory for HP Pavilion 23 - g040xt CTO all-in-One desktop

    When I ordered my

HP Pavilion 23-g040xt CTO of all-in-One desktop PC I could only afford the version of 4 GB of Ram. Now, I want to upgrade the memory up to 16 GB. I have a few questions

    1. I noticed all this in a use SODIMM and I was wondering if I could buy any DDR3 SODIMM for this or if I have to buy a specific manufacturer?

    2. now, I have only 4 GB using 1 of the 2 memory slots. I'll be able to buy 2X8GB and use this location empty on my motherboard and run dual channel?

    3. How do the memory locations? Just pop the back of all in one PC?

    Thank you

According to the specification, this model supports up to 16 GB (2 x 8 GB), as follows:

    Dual channel memory architecture
Two DDR3 SODIMM Sockets (204 PIN)
    Supports the PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
    Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB DDR3 SODIMM

Any brand or model of RAM memory that meets the following specifications should work on your computer. If you have 4 GB in a housing, you will need to remove it to install both 8 GB DIMMs. Yes, you just need to pop on the back.

There should be two or more screws on the back that need to be turned counterclockwise until you hear each "click" of 5-6 times. Then, take a lower corner and lift the corner. Repeat with the other bottom corner. Now, lift the... starting back down. You may also need to remove a cap on the memory locations to access.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • I have a Pavilion dv6 laptop and I want to upgrade the graphics card

I'm the product: HP Pavilion dv6t - b 6, 00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC

    Product number: QJ912AV #ABA

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Graphics factory-installed: Radeon HD 6490 m + Intel(r) HD Graphics Family (but I spend the Intel 3000 drivers)

My graphics were problems since I got my laptop and I didn't realize what a few months after when I did a check on why my graphics running on low FPS. I called customer service and they could not solved the problem, so I started to do the research and updating my drivers for each of them and switching them too. I have finally fixed them and instead to run Minecraft on 22 FPS, I was there at more than 60 FPS.

Now, this graphics card is good and all, but there are not adapted to the new games (and I've had this laptop 1 year). What don't get me, is why HP installs some old graphics chips in a new laptop. in any case, I want to see what I can put in the new card. I really want to install and Nvidia 650 m, but I don't know because I don't have any information on my motherboard and it is manufactured by HP. Why I want to improve it is because that 1.) This chip sucks and can't play the games of 2005 and more than 2). He cannot run newer games like I'm a player PC of BF3. I get a strong brand of 28 FPS on BF3-ultimate low quality on this game, he reached sometimes 30 but not much. I want this thing to run as good as my game desktop computer that is custom built, so I really want to know what works with this laptop.

Please help me to know what works so I'll be better satisfied with HP products.

    -Spencer

Read this document. This has been implemented by one of the community experts (erico).

The answer is usually going to be no upgrade that has been done on the graphics card as this is usually soldered to the motherboard and designed to work with specific chipsets. The fact that this example uses the switchable graphics actually still less likely. I'm sorry.

PC hardware is changing at a rapid pace, so you get a day probably will be obsolete in a few months if not sooner. I personally ordered a laptop and there was already a new model of the series which has a better processor and graphics card to this topic. Alas, I was outside the return period and could not take advantage of the new model.

This largely depends on the software used, but cell phones are not usually able to achieve the same performance as a desktop game PC. My laptop performs as well as my office during playback of half-life 2, but there is a big difference when I play Crysis. The experience will depend on how the program is written and how the game engine is optimized. It varies from game to game.

  • P7-1234 Pavilion: I have a p7-1234 Pavilion and want to upgrade the video card.

I have a p7-1234 Pavilion and want to upgrade the video card. I am currently the EVGA GeForce GT 610 2048 MB GDDR3. This card will work with it?

This is a power supply that will work for you:

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817139048

It is modular allowing you to use only the necessary cables.  This means that there is more room inside the circulation of air.  He is also a 600W which will give you extra power for the possible future upgrades.  Any block of power SUPPLY Corsair will be good.  They are fans of the quality products for a reasonable price.

  • I have a desktop computer with Vista business I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and install Vista on a laptop that has XP Pro but is Vista capable.

Transfer Vista Business on XP Pro computer.

I have a desktop computer with Vista business I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and install Vista on a laptop that has XP Pro but is Vista capable.

    Hello

If you use the Vista licence as part of the upgrade to Windows 7 you cannot use the license of Vista anywhere elsewhere

It is part of the upgrade process

    and also read this on licensing rules;

If Windows was preinstalled on your computer, Dell, HP, etc., or you bought an OEM/license disk, they are both classified as an OEM license and are not transferable.

The Windows OEM license is linked to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a retail Windows license, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.
