Pavilion p7-1040nl: the BIOS update gone wrong; PC does not start.

Hi, I tried to update my BIOS yesterday, but in the middle of doing so, there was a short cut (what are the chances right?). If the update is not good. And now my pc won't start at all. At the beginning until you get 8 beeps, the hard drive of fans, etc. seem to start, but there is NO video signal and the pc does not continue to start. So I can't even in the BIOS menu, because the monitor remains in sleepmode.
I tried all the fixes I have found here and on other sites without success. Do you have the cmos pass the thing, disconnected all the pieces one by one, tried to boot with the USB with the BIOS on this subject, but still nothing.
Does anyone know what anyone else I can try? Or should I accept that my pc is over?

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Have you tried clearing the COMS as in the instaructions on the document next to the motherboard web?

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02668523

I recommend to remove the CMOS battery while the cmos clear. Hold the power button for five seconds while the rider is on the position unequivocally @.

If it does not, then it's time for a new source desktop PC.

  • Update the BIOS Alienware x 51 now does not start

So I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 and a re-install my drivers and using the products download page on another computer Dell drivers and download them to a flash drive and upgrade on the primary computer. I have finished all updates until I got to the BIOS update, I installed in and rebooted my system, now it starts but freezes and does not move to the Alienware Logo. Just to put it out there, I have updated BIOS A08 A14. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Check in the Bios (for access to the tap water of the F2 key on startup Bios) under the Startup section, look for an option called Boot Mode and make sure that its game in the UEFI. Also, make sure that the Secure Boot option is turned off, save the changes and reboot the system. Let us know how it goes.

  • Pavilion HPE H8-1121: Pavilion HPE H8-1121 - new graphics card + power supply does not start after screen HP (Revisited)

I have the same problem as this post 2013!  Ouch. Pavilion HPE H8-1121 - new map chart + power supply, does not start after HP screen.

I installed a new power supply (Seasonic 620W), which works well.  I also installed a GTX 660Ti last year and it was works fine as well.  I recently bought a ZOTAC GTX 970 and attempted to install it, but it will not go beyond the blue HP screen and I get the same code of beeps (1 long, 3 short), who, seems, suggests that the video is not initialized.

    My BIOS date is 2011.

Where can I find an update for this?

I'm also using Windows 10, which I found on the HP site is not tested on my model and would probably not favourable to good use.  Should I do back up to 7 or 8?  and then update the BIOS?  Y at - it a update for my BIOS and where can I find.

In any case, I hope that this is a solution.  Again, this is not a bad machine to be 5 years old.

    Thanks for any help!

If the video card that you have purchased dose not a legacy vBIOS it will never start. An update of the BIOS doesn't solve that.

It is likely that your new video card has a vBIOS UEFI and that only is for the PC motherboards newer than yours which have a UEFI BIOS. Your motherboard has a legacy BIOS. 2012 is the year of model when the UEFI BIOS more or less became the de facto on motherboards standard.

I return it for a refund. Find the candidate of video cards that support the old BIOS. It can be inherited only or switchable vBIOS (legacy or UEFI) vBIOS.  I suggest looking at the site of Sapphire Technology. ZoTac is not known to provide enough information about their video cards in the way. You upgrade a pre-built desktop PC and it's different and a little more difficult to set up a DIY PC. I looked at the site of Zotac and see that nothing is said about their video vBIOS cards.  I would return to the map.  Carefully read the specifications of the video card. A candidate for your motherboard card must have inherited vBIOS support or simply, it won't work.

ZOTAC (they don't say anything about their product vBIOS)

Because you look at game with 4 GB cards. Take a look at the following map. It has a double vBIOS. legacy and UEFI. http://www.sapphiretech.com/productdetial.asp?pid=640A98CD-0CF0-4191-B75C-CA2800111ADB&lang=eng

Can you tell me why Mozilla FireFox 42.0.1 installs but won't work?
In addition, why FireFox 42.0.1 install when I try to install 37.0.2?

It is possible that your firewall or other security software blocks or limit Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and allow your firewall to ask permission to get access full and unrestricted, again to install for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

  • Equium M40X: I get to the banner of Toshiba, but Windows does not start

When I start my 2 year old Toshiba Satellite M40X, I get to the banner of Toshiba, but Windows does not start. I tried using the recovery CD and it does not either.

Any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

    Hello

What do you mean with the banner of Toshiba? Did you mean the Toshiba splash screen that appears at the begging of the boot?

Equium M40X successfully passed this screen?

If the laptop is unable to switch to the home Toshiba screen then I presume that the BIOS has detected a hardware problem.
In this case primarily the motherboard fails

But if the laptop is able to spend the Toshiba start screen, the motherboard must be ok and only a 3rd device malfunction as HARD drive could cause this problem.

    Hello

BIOS update is important to you?
Do you have problems with the laptop?

I have portable three-year-old BIOS was did not updated

However, AFAIK the VAP (value added package) must be to get the updated BIOS updated. Also the firewalls and other security and antivirus preinstalled on the system software must be disabled before attempting to update the BIOS.

Shut down the system. Just unplug the tower including the power cord. Press and hold the power for 10 seconds. Reconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, & power. Make sure that there is no cd/dvd in the drive.

Restart the system by pressing F8

    Hello

Given that your PC works with the old DIMM modules and not the new dimm then you should contact Kingston for a cure.

  • Satellite A210 FS3, PSAFGC-FS308C. BIOS update gone wrong.

    Hi all

I'm looking for info on my laptop satellite who died after a bios update.

Model is A210-FS3 (PSAFGC-FS308C)... bios uncertain.

I updated this laptop about 6 months ago (been dormant since) through windows7 beta (I know bad idea)... after he stop it came back never to life... He does not POST... Power light just blinks.

Is there a way to fix this without having to replace the motherboard? I read how to do this with a USB floppy, but it seems sketcky to me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I think that the replacement of the motherboard is not necessary (in most cases).
Maybe the ROM module has been flashed properly.
In this case, the BIOS has to be flashed using the crisis procedure but as far as I know, this can be done by an ASP.

    I found this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=48845

The guy managed to reflash the BIOS again. But once again, it s a sensitive procedure and usually an ASP must be contacted for a solution.

  • BIOS update gone wrong on a Satellite L30 - 105

    Hey.

I recently wantet to do an update of the Bios on my laptop and at halfway through there is an error and the down closet... I clubroot working on Notepad and then later rebootet and nothing happened. Just a black with a - flashing to the top in the left corner of the screen. My guess is that the Bios is messed up and need to be reset... But I don't know where is the battery on the laptop or if it would even help take this exit for a few seconds as it would be on a desktop computer. Suggestions other then send it in. then I must be without a computer for at least 3 weeks :D

You have no chance to solve this problem at home, you need professional help. After a bad update you can just reset the BIOS. Remove the battery will not solve your problem, it only works if the BIOS is not damaged.
