Pavilion p7-1414

I'm downgrading my P7-1414 to Windows 8 for Windows 7.  I made a few mistakes.  Long story short, I disabled somehow under UEFI USB ports and my keyboard and mouse are USB.  Cannot access menu, restoring UEFI.  I don't allow network boots.  I did disable secure boot and enable legacy hardware.  Is it possible to connect the keyboard and mouse and rebuild the system?  Help.

Hello:

I would like to reset the CMOS.

If please see the link below and read the instructions in the clearing CMOS settings section.

That will reset the BIOS to its values by default so that everything should be working again, and then you can go back and change only the BIOS settings that must be changed on the next go-around.

In essence, you get one-over.

Has tried to buy a replacement at Best Buy, and I was told no way.  They don't wear them.  Mine is a PNY210 with 1.0 not 2.0, which is what they have now.

    Where/what to replace this card?

    Thank you

The card would be acceptable with your power of 300W. But - you will need to modify the UEFI BIOS to accept the new card.

  • HP Pavilion p7-1414 will not boot from the CD

    Hello

I recently bought your desktop HP Pavilion p7 1414, I am trying to boot from a CD to reinstall Windows 8 - I put the CD to start first in the BIOS, but when I restart the computer and I have the CD, "press any key to boot from the CD" is not displayed.  It starts just directly to the computer HARD disk in Windows to connect.

I have 64-bit Windows 8. 6 GB of RAM and a terabyte of HARD drive space.  I'm looking to reinstall Windows 8 for a new start.  Any ideas why it won't boot from the CD?

    Very happy!

    Hello:

You must go into the BIOS and enable the legacy Mode and disable secure boot.

  • HP Pavilion s5-1414 failed to turn on

I have a HP Pavilion recently new model #: s5-1414.  When I plug it into the power supply, the Green led lights up as expected.  However, after pressing the power switch on the front, the green light will fade.  Also the CPU fan and case turns on momentarily and then turn off.

I've tried a few things to debug it (mainly unplugging everything that I can get my hands on), and it turns out that when the power connector 24 pin to the motherboard is disconnected, then the power supply will remain lit after the failover of the front power switch.

This seemss me like either my power supply went bad (after less than a year?) or some defect (short) has developed somewhere on the motherboard.  Ideas/tips for more debugging?  Any help is much appreciated-thanks a lot!

PS - I tried the steps in Trouble Shooting Power Supply issues without a bit of luck, and there isn't really a way to ' light is on but turns off after start-up.

    You are welcome!

It is a long shot, but I wonder if the power supply unit (PSU) has failed.  This doesn't happen often, but it is not impossible.  The symptoms may be caused by a power supply.  Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot it.

I bought a power supply several years and it was DOA.  For example, a faulty power supply may be possible.

  • Pavilion p7-1414: graphics card

I recently bought a Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 ti and already plugged into my motherboard. My problem is that it is not find compatible hardware for the card (not sure I'm the right wording)

    Hi there @Ky2Quick,

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that you are having problems with a card of Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 ti you have installed.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Looking at the GeForce GTX 560 Ti spécifications and comparing to the HP Pavilion Desktop PC p7-1414 product specifications

    Your system has:

    300W internal (100V-240V)

    1 PCI Express x 16 (Gen 2.0)

Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 ti card needs:

Minimum system requirements power: 500 W

    Additional power connectors: two 6-pin

    Support of the bus PCI-E 2.0 x 16

So the most obvious problem is going to be the power supply. You do not want to have at least a 500 W power installed on your computer, and more would be better.

Please let me know if help and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Pavilion p7-1414: upgrade graphics card

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware-and-upgrade-questions/P7-1414-and-GTX-750-TI-SC-proble...

As you can see in this thread, my computer will get full performance GTX 750ti due to my PCI ports.  So even if I upgrade my 500 Watt PSU, I always get a maximum return of 750 GTX ti. So in order to get maximum performance, what I have to get a new motherboard supporting the 750 GTX PCI slots ti?

    Greetings,

Your PC meets the requirements of minimum 300 Watt power supply.

Your PC has the UEFI BIOS necessary for the performance of the 750Ti. Your BIOS version 8.xx supports UEFI graphics cards.

Your PC has a PCIe x 16 slot 2.0. The 750Ti will take place in a 2.0 slot, but at a slightly lower rate. It is not as slow as you think. A 3.0 card works fine in a 2.0 slot.

The 750 will fit in your case, as evidenced by the physical installation of the card described in the link to the other thread user in your message.

No PIN six additional or power connections 8 pins are required to run the 750Ti.

I run a GTX 970 in a 2.0 slot and it works fine.

You need to enter the BIOS (Setup) to disable secure boot and select start inherited before installing the 750 into the slot. You must also uninstall the current graphics drivers before installing the new graphics card. You need to return to the graphics drivers generic windows before installing the 750Ti GTX.

    See you soon!

  • Pavilion P7-1414: HP-P7-1414 change graphics card

IM considering changing my 960 GTX graphics card. He would hold in my office and it works with AMD A8-5500?

    Hello @zkdls94,

This one has a system recommended 300 w power.  You will not have to upgrade the power supply.  However, since it has the support of the bus PCI Express 3.0, you may still experience a lack of performance.  I can't recommend a diet.  If you choose to go with the first graphics card, you must upgrade the PSU to something that is at least 400 W.  I hope this helps.

  • Pavilion P7-1414: Cable 11 disconnected my p7-1414, where does go?

Hello, my problem, as indicated in the title, is a wire labeled "Cable 11" disconnected from inside my PC I installed an SSD, the other day. I just need to know where he'll be back because I can not find it. The wire comes out of the front (but still inside the case), under the USB ports and comes with the cables connecting the USB ports.

Since the wire disconnected, my PC has SERIOUS difficulties to find wifi or modem routers, even the one in my house, and the intensity of the signal is catastrophic. It cuts all the time. To put it in perspective, my internet speed is so slow on the PC that I can't even run a speed test. I hope that this thread is the cause of the problems, and there isn't anything I don't know. Thanks for any help.

It seems that the antenna to the wireless adapter cable is loose.  On THIS PAGE, it displays the image of the wireless network card.  Click on the title "wireless 802.11 b/g/n.

the antenna cable connects to one of the card on the picture.
