Pavilion Sleekbook 14: Video memory check error software

I need help. My HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 fell from my table and could no longer boot the operating system (MS Windows 8). I ran system update where, in results all went except to verify the video memory which is indicated as the software error.

Is there anyway to relive my drive and fully recover my files? Thanks a lot for any assistance which will be extended here. More power for the group.

@budweiser1962 ,

  • Pavilion Sleekbook 15-B142DX memory upgrade

Hello, I recently bought and installed an upgrade of DDR3 4 GB memory for my Pavilion Sleekbook 15-B142DX. It is PNY PC3-10666, chip of 4GB which says it's compatible with 1333 MHz and 1066 MHz I booted the laptop after the installation of the new chip, but reports still 4 GB of physical memory, msinfo and other online tests. Yet once, I opened the computer suspect that the chip was not fully connected. While there, I pass the tasks of the 1st round and the new stick. The computer registers yet only 4 GB of physical memory. Did I buy an incompatible chip or it's probably another problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul,.

I received a HP technical support solution. The chipset you recommended works very well (thanks again). Here is the solution, in case anyone has the same problem with this model:

    (1) I removed the new chipset

    (2) I started the computer and went to menu BIOS setup > Boot Options > Secure Boot (those may not be the exact names)

    (3) switched start safe for people with reduced mobility.

    (4) reinstalled the new chipset

    (5) on the machine

    (6) checked to make sure that the computer record 8 GB

    (7) turned Secure Boot on

Ensure that the computer has saved 8 GB 8) Made

Aside from the Ram "goes wrong" and developing a fault, can anyone suggest another cause? It doesn't seem to be an obvious solution to this problem on a forum I've seen so far. Maybe it's my RAM that fails (but it seems to do it when he is not be underlined!) It could be the video drivers... who knows? I hope somebody.

    Hello!

In your case, I would check the RAM, I think that's the problem.

You can do this with Memtest86:
    http://Memtest86.com/
Memtest86 is a diagnostic tool to check the RAM. Here, you can also download a CD image.
It s easy to use. Run the test of 3-4 hours and then you will see if the RAM has some errors.

  • Pavilion p7 - 1436 s: send more video memory dedicated RAM?

    Hello!

I have a Pavilion p7 - 1436, and a game I want to play requires a minimum of 1 GB of video RAM dedicated.

My graphic card/adapter is an AMD Radeon HD 7540D.

I have 8 GB of total RAM, and when I check my profile, this happens:

Total available graphics memory: 4096 MB

    Dedicated video memory: 512 MB

    Video memory: 0 MB

    Shared system memory: 3584 MB

I would spend at least a gigabyte of video memory dedicated , but I can't figure out how. I restarted my compurer and press F2/F10/DEL to get a certain menu, but the menu gave options for enforcement of controls on memory, not not the reallocation. I don't know if this menu has been the "BIOS" than other discussions they said access.

Thank you and I hope you can help!

    Hello

I wouldn't waste your time difference after that 512 MB is insignificant.

I suggest using a discrete graphics card.

The max that I can choose is 64 MB, what is the difference between PCI and AGP video cards? It would be better for the HDTV display and work better with limited system memory? Thanks, Deb

Deb, AGP is a newer technology and is considerably faster than the PCI ports.  So I suggest an AGP video card.  Now, that being said, I am not sure how well the computer will run with an HDTV because HP supports only 1 GB of system memory.  Additionally, make sure that the power supply unit (PSU) has enough power to run the card you choose correctly.  You can check the wattage in opening the case and by reading the label on the power supply.  The minimum power requirements should be available on the manufacturer's website.

  • HP pavilion 500-123w: dedicated video memory

So I tried to install a game, by controlling require it software and hardware, I noticed that I needed 1 G of dedicated video memory, but I only have 32 MB. I went into the BIOS and I looked for the ability to change the dedicated video memory, but I couldn't find, is there a way I can add/change video memory dedicated?

    Thank you

    Carlos, welcome to the forum.

No, there is no way to change the integrated video memory.  Your best option would be to install a discrete PCI Express x 16 (Gen 2.0) video card.  This would also require a power supply (PSU) upgrade.  Your power supply is only 300W and recent video cards require a minimum of 400w.

  • Satellite P200 - Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

    Hi all experts!

After updating a driver, I get this above mentioned message.
+ Message ' hardware malfunction NMI Parity Check / Memory Parity Error.

But just at the moment where the P200 falls in sleep mode. I can't wake up and have to do a hard reboot. Windows is starting and works perfectly and everything seems to be okay!

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

This behavior can occur if a hardware component malfunctions, or if it has installed the damaged or incompatible drivers.
I think that you should remove the driver updated or installed first.
If this does not work, test the laptop with preinstalled system cool.

Finally if this is insufficient, a hardware malfunction might be possible.
In this case the RAM modules need to be tested as the first part.
