Pavilion Slimline s3620f Hard Drive Crash

My hard drive crashed on my Slimline s3620f desktop PC. I wasn't able to back up data/files on the rise and don't have a recovery disk. The computer came pre-installed with Windows Vista but I can't find the original software for this computer disks, but I always keep them and have them for other computers that we have.

What I need to know came this computer with an operating system CD? If I buy a new hard drive, I need to know how to get the original preloaded software to the new hard drive?

I found your recovery disks available to surgeons from computer to this site:

    Hello

If you have clicked on these discs on the link, you know they are all 2.5 "HDD. You can use something like this:

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s5120f: hard drive

I'm quickly running out of storage on my hard drive and would like to add a hard disk or change the original. After combing through the manual of the product, I'm as lost as ever. It sounds from the manual that this is not an expandable system. However, I believe that I could change the hard disk that is in the present to a larger hard drive. I have a recovery cd and from what I've read everything I have to do is partition the new drive once I have install and re - turn on the computer. I am less close right?

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

It's not nearly as simple to do as you think.

You will need to remove the disk, replace the disk and then restore the configuration from the PC to the new drive - and this last step requires the use of media of HP recovery, which is NOT a CD, but instead, a DVD SET, usually 3 for the operating system and a driver CD.

In addition, a restoration in this way begins cool and NONE of the data, settings or applications residing on your machine now would be copied to the new drive.

Let's tackle the first elements-the removal and replacement of the drive.  It's the upgrade and Service of Guide for your PC: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01765809

Information on removing and replacing the hard drive begins on page 17. As you can see, there are a LOT of work involved.

As to restore the configuration of the PC, there is an easier way which is what you have - and which is 'cloning' the reader in a new, larger, by car.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) connect the new drive to the computer using a USB car adapter
    (3) follow the instructions in this link: http://knowledgebase.macrium.com/display/KNOW/Cloning+a+disk
    (4) shut down the PC when done
    (5) Exchange the disks and reboot the PC.

You should boot from the new drive with no problems.

    Good luck

  • Hard drive crashed - no CD/DVD not provided.

I don't know if this is the right place for a solution, but...

I have an a6305.uk Pavilion and the hard drive crashed.  I paid a WAD of cash and recovered most of the data files.  I bought a new SATA hard drive and got the device running with XP.  The reader is not repairable.

The problem is the following - I would go back to Vista, but when I bought the machine it came with the software installed and no CD/DVD.  How can I get the Vista CD relevant for her?

I have another machine using Vista - Pavilion a6511.uk (also no CD/DVD/s) which works very well.  Any suggestion on the question of whether I can use it to rebuild the software on another machine?   Note that the damaged hard drive was 350 nine GB is 500 GB and the one on the machine works also 350 GB.

    I hope yours,.

    Jim

    Thank you.

For additional information, the solution was as follows:-

    (1) created Recovery DVD set using a machine later.  I was not able to recover on the other machine with these DVD

    However,.

    (2) installed new drive of 500 GB in the machine later (instead of the existing drive) and the used DVD is to recover the software on this disk.

    (3) replaced the new drive in the old machine and booted OK.  Just a few tweaks needed to reconfigure the monitor, recognize the different mouse etc.  Even if the new drive is bigger than the original one, recovery recognized and formatted accordingly.

    (4) replace the original disk and more later kicked and the machine OK.

-That the routine of hard recovery specific but not seem specific training.

Thanks a lot - problem solved.

  • Satellite C660-1HP - hard drive crashed in 2 days

I bought a Toshiba laptop(C660-1CV) to a local dealer just before two days. I had loaded VMware with couple of VMs and other important software.

Despite my company insisting lenevo I went for Toshiba because I trust the brand and I had a real experience with Toshiba. Today morning after two days of buying laptop, the hard drive crashed and I got a black screen with no guest OS, nothing. My dealer said that he cannot do what I have to consider service of Al Futtiam centre. The hard drive just re-connected service center guys and it didn't work, he was immediately made a statement that the hard drive needs to be replaced and it will be another 4 to 5 days. He said to take a backup of your data, I have to pay 99 AED. Isn't it strange? My own laptop which is just 2 days has crashed and I have to pay to get my data. The technical guy has no other troubleshooting procedures except reconnect the hard drive.

I care about her climbing at a correct level in Toshiba. If anyone has contacts in the region of the UNITED Arab Emirates forward to me.

    Hi pmavani,

I'm sorry to hear that this HARD drive died after 2 days that are not normally but these things can happen, especially with the HARD drive, it is a mechanical part. But the don t worry that this case is covered by the warranty in order to obtain free of charge a new HDD to an authorized service and the guy said that it takes 4 or 5 days. It s ok for the laptop can be fixed within a week.

    > He says to take a backup of your data, I have to pay 99 AED. Isn't it strange?
No, that s not quite strange. Backup doesn t warranty coverage, you should do it yourself. Which is the reason why you must install and configure the backup software before doing anything.

  • How to install Windows XP on Portege S100 home after HARD drive crash

In my laptop s100-s1133 of a HARD drive crash. I buy a new one. Now, I can not intall OS (Windows XP). Windows is not installed, because it does not find my HARD drive. I got downlad drivers for toshiba (Toshiba RAID driver for XP (v1.3.8.0, 10/04/2006; 465 K)). After the installation of win98, it cannot detect the CD-rom...
Y at - it a recovery for this model cd? or can say smb, how can I install WinXP on this model

    Hello

You are right that you must install the first RAID driver before installing the operating system.
If you have installed the RAID the installation Win driver will ask you to format the HARD drive.
In this case, do NOT format the HARD drive because the RAID driver will remove and it is not possible to install the Windows XP.

Now your question Win98; is on the page of the Toshiba driver you will find not all drivers for Win98 for this device and I assume that you need a particular driver for the CD/DVD drive to activate this device.

I give you a warning regarding the use of the WinXP

PS: On the Toshiba driver page, you will find the installation instructions. Follow this guide!

  • HP Probook s 4530: HARD drive crashed - no possibility of recovery of windows 7

    Dear Sir

A few weeks ago my hard drive crashed, it was not possible to repair the HARD disk, so I ordered a new HARD drive.

I thought that I was able to download and install Windows 7 onto the new HARD drive with the product on the back of my laptop, but when I try to download it from the Microsoft Web site I get a message saying that there is a problem with the request for approval. In further research, this can only for commercial versions, not pre-installed versions.

So, how can I get Windows 7 now on my laptop?

    Product: Laptop HP 4530 s

  • Satellite L955-100 - HARD drive crash / no recovery disk

    Hi all

I think I have a huge problem, so I would like your advice.
Yesterday, my HARD drive crashed and a noise 'click of death '.

My warranty has already expired, and of course I did not the recovery discs...

I know that it was stupid to forget something, but even if I would like to ask you if you have another solution to my problem.

Already, I thought about buying a new HARD drive, but then my problem is still not having access to my Windows 8 (which was on the recovery partition).

    Thanks in advance,

    Michel

In my opinion, you should simply replace the HARD drive and need to use the recovery disk that you could order at Arvato Services
The disc isn't expensive; round about 30

Maybe you want to increase the performance of the computer laptop buying an SSD?
The SSD is a bit more expensive that a common SATA HDD, but believe me: it will significantly increase the performance of the laptop

After a hard drive crash and recover most of my files on an external hard drive which eventually became my only internal, but because I live on an island in South America and there's hardly anyone on the island I live who can help other that a friend, I took a trip to Miami to visit the genius bar and they did a new install of Capitan which I don't really like by the way.  In any case, I though I had lost all my iPhoto library, but I managed to find my photos. Only now I have two libraries... the iPhoto with images from my Photos on Capitan and 8 years.  Is it possible to consolidate them in a library?  And can I still use RAW to be able to edit photos? aIso, y at - it a tutorial for the Photos?

In the future more facts and less editorial help here

SO now, we know all about how you feel but nothing on your system or your problem

What version of El Captain do you have (10.11.3 is the current version with Photos 1.3)

You cannot merge libraries without third party software - Photos of power can merge pictures libraries

You can migrate iPhoto libraries to libraries of Photos by dragging Photos icon in the Dock

When you first launched the Photos it has migrated the last used for Photos iPhoto library

I hope this will help, but to get specific answers, you need to provide real information and not feelings

  • Envy 15 j126tx: Hard Drive crashed

Hi, my laptop's hard drive crashed, and I want to know if there is anyway I can get it back. In fact, my 'C' Partition (where the operating system has been installed) was running out of space, so I wanted to extend its size without interfering in anything else and I found on some site manager EaseUs partition can do this task, i.e. without deleting or re creation, it can resize partitions. So I downloaded Manager EaseUs partition and after installation, I tried to resize C, but it gave an error, it says something like the software was not compatible because it is software 32 bit, while I was running Windows 7 64-bit. I just gave up, assuming that this software is working 32 bit and with 64-bit custom. But when I hibernated my laptop, since he never turned on. It shows that there is no hard drive attatched.  I tried to check in the bios, diagnostic tool, but hard drive never showed up. Then I tried to Boot from a USB bootable (Windows 7 bootable USB), but in the section where I chose a player for windows, there is no drive. I tried to restore the repair option in the installer of Windows 7 too, but can't find any repair of the version of windows.

Can I fix my hard drive?

I fell off my hard drive permanently?

My hard drive cable is unplugged? In fact I can't verify it cause I would cancel my warranty otherwise.

P.S. I'm home, and I bought from another city, so I can't go to the dealer earlier!

In fact you will not affect the warranty, if you check the hard drive. See page 47 of the manual here:

    Manual

I think that the hard drive may be dead. The EaseUs couldn't do the invisible to BIOS hard disk or a Windows installation disc, but he could do no bootable hard disk by altering the partition table.

I remove the hard drive and try it in a usb to SATA adapter and see if it turns.

    original title: help

After a hard drive crash, I reinstalled my operating system to windows 7.  However, I think that he is "buried" and unused o my new hard drive.  Instead, it SEEMS that I have windows NT, & a mix of properties in VISTA and 7.  I much prefer to have a real operating system, as opposed to the almost "virtual" NT  However, those who have themselves appointed trustee-directors, left me with little control over my own computer.  I understand that right now I NEED administrators.  I would be grateful however, certain controls - and certainly some understanding- of what is happening with my own computer: like, where to FIND things, OPEN & USE some of my own stuff.  Help!

Create a new user account (admin) if possible:

Have you installed the operating system? If so, your default user account is an admin user.
