  • CHKDSK error after replacing screen

    Hi all

I have an old T60, I am preparing to give to my mother. To get this loan, I have replaced the screen SXGA + dead with a XGA almost nine. Everything went well, the new screen is beautiful and probably better for my mother, since there res more weak and so large icons. However, after that I turned it back on, I continued to get a message at startup saying that one of the disks should be checkd, and he then started very well.

I try to run chkdsk two or three times, and he acted like he had to do, but after a few seconds he said "chkdsk cancelled" and started normally. I went into the BIOS and run the drive test utility, but it doesn't give me any errors or problems, it just say something like "the disk was read" after a few hours.

If this could have something to do with the new screen? If the driver for the old screen is originally a mistake because the new screen is a different resolution?

    Thank you.

    Thank you for your response.

I ended up reinstalling Windows. In this way, it will be a new installation without any problem. No problems so far - the installation went well, and I am just running all the updates. I'll try to run chkdsk once everything is up to date.

I want to thank you for taking the time to answer. Best.

  • SMART hard disk error after replacing HD

    Hello!

I SO hope that this someboidy is able to help me.

I'm NOT a novice but I am confused.

I replaced with the same model HD HD CQ58 provided with COMPAQ because the old HD was shot - how it happened escapes me.

Anyhoo, after screwing a new HD I wanted to put OS on it, but I get the following error just after pressing set button / stop:

    SMART disk error

INTELLIGENT drive control has detected an imminent failure. So no los data, please backup the content immediately and run the system diagnostics hard drive.

I will return the LINK later.

First of all, I pushed ENTER. What has emerged is:

I pressed F2 and this is what happens:

    I get the diagnostics Menu.

I tried the LINK, it does not exist.

I also went in the Boot Options in the BIOS to boot from a USB and put the USB HD in the first place.

When I restart it does not recognize a USB key. I tried Windows 8 and UBUNTU which ususally works on all the machines I've fixed so far.

    No chance whatsoever.

    As I mentioned earlier:

    I'm puzzled.

I have no recovery CD and cannot make one because I'm not running Win8 on any of my PC.

    Thus, any suggestions?

    Help, please

    Thanks in advance

    Henry of Kai

    First of all:

Thank you all very much for taking the time and you answer!

And now, for what happened after I did all what has been proposed:

    Nothing.

    The message remained the same.

Still no hard drive (even if it was new)

Then I took a hard drive to work with Win7 on it from another machine, put it in the Compaq and... nothing.

I tried the USB with Win8 (NTFS with Rufus) does not.

I don't know why, I tried again, but when I used the same USB with UBUNTU Live - 14.04. on that I had taken or tried before... He recognized at startup.

Weird hard drive wiped completely since it was not recognized by the BIOS (one with Win7 on it... data paths but I had backup ).

So, now I'm running the faithful Tahr on the Compaq and it works fine.

I will try to put the original Win8 on it, but the system doesn't seem like more since USB NTFS NTFS are not recongised at startup.

Well Anyhoo, I got the machine to work.

Would have been nice to know what was wrong with him to solve future problems, but at least I had to register in this forum

So I could bore you guys with questions in the future.

    Take care

    Kai

  • Fatal error after replacing msvcrt.dll

Once connected, I was getting an error in msvcrt.dll so I downloaded the latest version of microsoft.com and installed. After restarting my computer, I get today a fatal error and restart the computer. I saved a backup of my old msvcrt.dll file, but I can't restore. Boot in safe mode does not work.

I'm afraid I have to reformat but I don't want to lose all my files, if there is anything that I'm missing, it will be very appreciated.

You will have to start on something.

If you have a CD/DVD drive. Are you doing a Hiren boot CD and use the XP Mini environment for basic file manipulation and of many other useful tools for these emergencies.

The latest Hiren's version is 11.0 at the bottom of this page:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

Once started on the CD, XP Mini environment looks like and feels like XP, so you'll be comfortable with his familiarity and can replace the file with your copy.

Then you can fix everything that's really your problem of msvcrt.dll.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • Error - 10008 # replace hard disk 1

I'm sure that my hard drive has become bad, other messages that I read.

I don't have any data out of this device.  In fact, I was about to start deleting old data so I could give this device to a family in need.  Went to start the computer to start this process.  However, when I went to do this, he went to BSOD.  Messed with it a bit, then I got BSOD.  I have fillany calculate to run the test and got the 10008 # replace 1 hard disk error.

As always, I want to give to this family that laptop, my question is: where I could buy a cheap replacement hard drive.  Is it difficult to do? And I don't think I have a back up / but on the operating system installation disk.  I have to do to get us to open and it would be affordable.

I'm totally willing to put in the work to get to the top and go, but was woundering if anyone would be willing to give me some instructions on how to do it.

Thank you 1 million for all advice and assistance.

    Hello

Regarding the reinstallation of the operating system on the new drive HARD, here are two options.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.

Go to the device under network adapters Manager see if your wireless network does not work properly or activated, usually a peripheral disorder has a yellow exclamation point in front of her.

Also check your switch wireless if his, mine has a blue light when it is on and red when off.

Any suggestions on getting this Intel Wireless Card work?

    I want the 802.11ac with Bluetooth 4.0

I don't understand why this card should not work.  Why HP would prevent me from using that card.  HP will change the BIOS for this card can be used?

    Called HP support today.

It seemed to me more on this topic, and then he did.

    Conclusion.

Do not buy HP.  Why?  Well, I understand that for the FCC regulations, they might want to limit what cards to put.  But my problem is that they do not go back and update the bios with new ones that meet regulations of the FCC.

Do not buy Intel.   If you read the information that they provide User installation is "illegal."

So why that I found this product on Newegg and Tigerdirect.

If you look at the forums that I'm not the only one with a LOT of question is have it.

    So to summarize.

My HP laptop cannot be upgraded to an internal AC wireless with Bluetooth.

  • Printing via USB and wireless error

Hi my printer is a HP deskjet 3050 a printer all-in-one.

He stopped to communicate with the computers in the House when we had questions related to internet. LLA modem has been reset.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled the printer drivers and I can send the documents to the correct printer from the desktop and the laptop, and then I get a print error message. When I click to see what's printing, the document is listed in the queue, but it shows a document with three circles on it rather than on a Word Document.

What happens on both computers and connected printing and wireless.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hey @soleruler,

If the printer only displays in the list programs and features on your Windows 8.1 systems indicates that generally your Deskjet 3050 has e-all-in-one printer was probably not installed correctly in the first place. You can certainly use the option "Remove hardware" under "Devices and printers" on these 3 computers to remove old copies of the printer. Just make sure that when you go to remove the unit there is no print jobs stuck in the queue. Print jobs stuck in the queue will cause the printer go into a status of "withdrawal" but the Deskjet printer will not erase until jobs are deleted. To check the queue just right click on the printer under devices and printers, and left click on 'see what's printing. If something is in the box, then just right-click on it and 'Cancel' jobs. Once cancelled, then you can proceed with the option "remove hardware".

Let me know how these steps go for you. Good luck!

  • X61T works wireless after the replacement of the Board of Directors?

    Hello!

I have a lenovo X61T, who recently had a Board of Directors system of, after a repair by a local warranty service workshop (CompuCom), we found that the wireless (and fingerprints, scanner...) were not working.

It seems that LED to my bluetooth on the monitor lights up and works fine, I can be able to snap the cycle as the combo FN + F5, but whenever I try to turn on the Wifi, it does not. I keep on pressing power, and he never replies.

I can't check the fingerprint sensor is working, but I was able to light up, to scan and connect to wifi networks of this card without any problems from my Ubuntu installation on a separate volume that had no problems with the new motherboard.

If the wireless card works in linux, so this leads me to think it's vista (32-bit business) that has the problem

    Here's what I did:

    1. Uninstalled and reinstaled drivers (did not remove the driver software, I should try that?)
    2. A ran an update of the system (found that the new bios necessary Council an update, but otherwise I'm keeping my system up to date, check every month at least for new updates)
    3. Turn off the TPM (Client Security Solution) completely (then maybe I need to reset that?)

I don't know what could be causing the problem, I have tried to set up a connection profile and specify the wireless network and other, but I get an error saying that the wireless radio is turned and press repair to fix the problem, it does not work

I did save the results and have save them as an HTML file (to see what happens when he tries to shut up... here are some of the messages in the newspaper that I found interesting: (the paper is long enough, so I could send it to someone if they requested))

Then I thought about it... Fix anway, would try to Exchange wifi cards and out the keyboard and the palmrest. Found that there are locations for 2 cards, put the card wifi of origin in another location, and before power to set up, wifi worked as if it never failed!

So I swapped back to the original square and voila, the problem is back. Vista seems to not be happy, but fortunately, I know that the slot works very well since it was detected by linux.

So ultimately has this amazing piece of hardware continues to grow on me. This is my first laptop class IBM Business and I must say that I am very happy!
