    Hello

    My son has had a brand new, one for Christmas and all was going well until he started today and the mouse pad is totally insensitive. Can anyone help?

    @lisabling,

    Try the following.

    Shut down the laptop. Tap here to f8 start you toward the top access to the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode with network" and press ENTER.  Let windows fully load in this mode and see if the Touchpad works in this mode.

    If this is the case, download the latest installer Synaptics driver on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp54001-54500/sp54040.exe

    Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

    Once done, restart the computer and Windows restarts normally - check the Touchpad still works.

    If this is the case, open your downloads folder, right-click on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once done, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

  • The mouse is out of order at startup

    It takes about two minutes to move my mouse quickly in front of my computer responds.  How can I fix?

    Hi CEHorton,

    1 when was the last time it was working fine?

    2. what type of mouse you are using? Is it wireless or wired?

    Method 1

    This can sometimes happen if the mouse driver is out of date or is in need of an update.

    I would say Hat you visit download of mouse manufacturer's website and install the latest driver for the device and check if it works.

    Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    See also the Microsoft article below and try them the steps if you are using a wireless mouse.

    Troubleshoot the incidents of the response to the mouse or wireless keyboard

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/838398

    Method 2

    If the previous step fails, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is originally from the mouse does not respond.

    I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Reset the computer to start as usual

    When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps!

    This gives a test:

    1. click on START
    2. click on 'run '.
    3 type "notepad" (without the quotes) and press enter
    4. copy and paste this into Notepad:

    "USBBIOSHACKS" = DWORD: 00000000
    "USBBIOSx" = DWORD: 00000000

    5. click on file > save as
    6. change the dropdown to "all files".
    7 type usb.reg as the file name and save the file somewhere easy to access
    8 go find the file and double click it. Confirm that you want to add it to the registry
    9 restart the computer and see if you can wake the system from standby mode

  • One month battery life MS Wireless 4000 mouse Mobile

    I bought this mouse a few months ago and use it daily.  I am very happy with the performance, but not with the battery life.

    I have to replace the battery every month, almost to the day.

    The mouse is mainly used with my desktop system, also in my web development work and general use.  I believe my use active 8 hours a day, but my systems are constantly lit.

    I used the new brand name alkaline batteries (Energizer, Duracell) and the last 2 months, the batteries to the Energizer Lithium, with no difference.

    It is impossible for me to turn the mouse over and out all day.

    Packaging claims up to 10 months of battery life - of course, I'm not anywhere near that.

    I have the latest intellipoint drivers and otherwise my Win 7/64 system is up to date.

    You have any ideas why I have this problem, and what I might be able to do about it?

    Thanks in advance: as I said, I love the mouse, but the cost of battery alive to eat me!

    Have you tried to contact MS support it exchanged or replaced? How about the place you bought it? I had a few wireless mouse and all their batteries have lasted more than a month, but only lasted as long as 10 months. I have a MS Natural Wireless Laser 6000 last 6 months, almost to the day. But my Logitech V470 Bluetooth Notebook Mouse batteries last about 4 months and it stopped immediately.
    I think you have a faulty mouse, but I don't know that your merchant nor Microsoft would take my word for it :-)

    This is the case, because a finger is not a mouse. It is impossible to click on a pixel with your finger, because a finger is something like 40px 40px. This is the reason why, when you click on a little more outside of a button, the button is always enabled. I think that this is the case on all platforms (Android, iOS, Windows Phone) to simply improve the user experience.

    It's very annoying when the button is to small to hit decently with a finger...

  • Disable the mouse pad

    I want to disable my mousepad on my computer dell laptop.  I can't find it anywhere... only the speed of our buttons of the mouse options.  I want to turn the mouse pad everything out, or unless you disable the option of tapping.  It drives me crazy.

    It is perhaps feasible through the Fn (next to the left shift key) key in combination with one of its F - keys, see the documentation for your laptop. You could also look in Control Panel-mouse for deactivation of plays and other functions (but maybe that's where you have already looked at). Finally, you could disable the touchpad in Device Manager.

    • Click Start
    • Click on run
    • Type devmgmt.msc and press enter

  • I want to Ctrl-zoom in CS6, Alt-zoom - with the mouse scroll wheel...

    Hello!

    Is there by chance a way to change the entries and outzooming in InDesign CS6 to be with the Ctrl key instead of the Alt key? When you use the mouse to zoom scroll wheel, I mean.

    I used to press Ctrl and scroll the wheel to zoom in and zoom out, and now I'm too old to learn using Alt + key instead, that it is impossible, the tracks in my head to use Ctrl is too deep. Cannot be erased or replaced.

    Or is there maybe a way to make the wheel to zoom in and out without stroking any key?

    James

    No possibility to change the zoom keys. Here's another way to zoom in and out.

    Use Ctrl + space, and then click the mouse to zoom in

    Use Ctrl + Alt + SPACEBAR, and then click the mouse to zoom out

  • (Redirected) Alienware is unresponsive and the power seems to fade in and out

    I have an Alienware Aurora R3 of 2012 desktop computer running the updated Windows 7 which will randomly have issues (sometimes after 2 hours, sometimes after 5 minutes) where the keyboard and mouse stop working (although light on the keyboard remains lit, the light on the fades of the mouse in and out) , and I can hear one of the fans in the computer running upward and slowing down repeatedly.  The Alienhead also of the cycles of its normal color to yellow, then rehearsals, in sync with the fan turns at the top and bottom.  The computer does not seem to stay active with programs still running.

    I tried to replace the power supply with a different dell power supply (exact same model) and after a few hours, the problem started again.

    I blew all the dust out of the computer twice with no success.

  • Problem with mouse input Manager with the mouse button

    Hello

    I'm trying different things to determine weather conditions, I'm going to use JavaFX for one of my projects. Here's one of my problems. I had a scene with only a circle inside. I want to run an event that would be returned when I press the left button of the mouse outside of the circle, then enter the circle with the mouse and the button is held down. However, it seems that the mouse gesture events are blocked when you press a button.

    Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    You're right, the "MouseMove" and "mouse entered" events seem to no longer be fired when a drag is in progress. A little annoying, but perhaps also by design.

    Drag mouse events on the other hand get programming at this point so you can use them for what you want. It seems THAT JFX suppose the node where the drag started is the one who cares for the event if you don't get the events drag on the circle directly. So the simple way only I can see for this is follow slide it the mouse on the "outer" and then detect what child was wriggling on manually. Something like this:

    final FlowPane rootNode = new FlowPane();
    rootNode.setOnMouseDragged(new EventHandler()
    {
        public void handle(MouseEvent mouseEvent)
        {
            System.out.println("Mouse dragged on root pane to " + mouseEvent.getX() + ", " + mouseEvent.getY());
            for (Node child : rootNode.getChildren())
            {
                if (child.getBoundsInParent().contains(mouseEvent.getX(), mouseEvent.getY()))
                {
                    System.out.println("Mouse is now over: " + child);
                }
            }
        }
    });

    Circle circle = new Circle(50);
    rootNode.getChildren().add(circle);

    Is not ideal, but it should work.

    Default you can also play with the stuff of Drag and Drop: http://download.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/drag_drop/jfxpub-drag_drop.htm

    In what you can do what you ask, but you will need to do a little more work to play nice with the larger world of DND. Start with something like this but:

    final FlowPane rootNode = new FlowPane();
    rootNode.setOnDragDetected(new EventHandler()
    {
        public void handle(MouseEvent mouseEvent)
        {
            System.out.println("Drag started on root node");
            Dragboard db = rootNode.startDragAndDrop(TransferMode.ANY);
            ClipboardContent content = new ClipboardContent();
            content.putString("Test");
            db.setContent(content);
            mouseEvent.consume();
        }
    });

    Circle circle = new Circle(50);
    circle.setOnDragEntered(new EventHandler()
    {
        public void handle(DragEvent dragEvent)
        {
            System.out.println("Drag entered on circle");
        }
    });
    rootNode.getChildren().add(circle);

    There may be other ways too, but that's what I found.

    Hope that helps,
    zonski

  • MOUSE_LEAVE to detect when the mouse down

    I have to be able to detect a MOUSE_LEAVE on now that the mouse leaves the scene no matter if the mouse is pointing DOWNWARDS or upwards. This seems to be impossible or a limitation in AS3. The MOUSE_LEAVE gets only sent if the mouse is in PLACE or when the mouse is released out of the scene. Is there an API like isMouseOutsideStage instead of using headphones that I can use instead? stage.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_OUT) is not applicable because whenever my slide show changes pictures, scene MOUSE_OUT is sent which is not desirable. The code below works perfectly where it detects a version or version out if event.target differs from the myButton. The strange thing or maybe a bad behavior is that if I release outside the stadium, event.target is equivalent to myButton thus detect a "communiqué" instead of "liberation outdoors." I think that when we release the outdoor stage, the event.target want to be null. There is no other work around, I may think or find.

    myButton.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, {function(event:MouseEvent):void}
    MouseHandler.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, {function(event:MouseEvent):void}
    MouseHandler.removeEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, arguments.callee);
    if(Event.Target == MyButton) {}
    dispatchEvent (new ButtonEvent (ButtonEvent.RELEASE));
    } else {}
    dispatchEvent (new ButtonEvent (ButtonEvent.RELEASE_OUTSIDE));
    }
    });
    });

    I created a MouseHandler class that maintains Boolean values such as isDown tried isOnStage by assigning true MOUSE_MOVE and false MOUSE_LEAVE and added checking:

    If (event.target == myButton & & MouseHandler.isOnStage ()) {}
    dispatchEvent (new ButtonEvent (ButtonEvent.RELEASE));
    } else {}
    dispatchEvent (new ButtonEvent (ButtonEvent.RELEASE_OUTSIDE));
    }

    but it cannot work because MOUSE_UP is distributed everything first he uses isOnStage = true before isOnStage can be set to false on the MOUSE_LEAVE event.

    You can use:

    stage.addEventListener (Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, f);

    function f(e:Event):void {}
    trace (e);
    }

    stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN,ff);
    stage.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, fff);

    function fff(e:MouseEvent):void {}
    stage.removeEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, ffff);
    }

    function ff(e:MouseEvent):void {}
    stage.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, ffff);
    }

    function ffff(e:MouseEvent):void {}
    If (e.stageX<0 ||="" e.stagex="">stage.stageWidth | e.stageY<0 ||="" e.stagey="">stage.stageHeight) {}
    stage.dispatchEvent (new Event (Event.MOUSE_LEAVE));
    stage.removeEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, ffff);
    }
    }

  • Alienware 14 - Touchpad problem

    I've had my Alienware Laptop, 14 for a few months now, and I recently did something to make my touchpad is no longer functional :(

    I tried cleaning the touchpad when I saw that it looked like a scratch on it, so I continued to try to get rid of him, but he had only got worse. I realized that it was plastic/layer of real touchpad of some sort, and I scratched, almost half of it off trying to get rid of the appearance of it being scratched

    Now looks like this:

    http://i.imgur.com/9uO97zV.jpg

    I use a usb mouse, so this isn't too bad... but now my touchpad do not answer and just spazzes out when I try to use it. I wonder if there is anything I can do, is there such a thing as a replacement of touchpad?

    Thank you

    Hi Shaan211,

    Yes, you can request a replacement of the touchpad. Send me a private message with your Service number and contact information so I can help you.

  • Offerswizard - How can I get rid?

    So, I was on my computer tonight, and all of a sudden the random ads of Offerswizard and many other pop - ups kept popping up, as well as to a Bing search bar. How can I remove this? I've literally tried everything - I have reset Firefox, went through all my addons and tried to uninstall programs on the Control Panel, but the only one who has been 'installed' today is the "Network System Driver. I also apparently installed programs still 'Rich Media View', 'View Media' etc from all the way back in March, but have not installed addons to this type. I remember the last time I've had trouble with "Media View", I got addons to insinuate their way into my computer, too.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello!

    UPDATE 3

    Just to let everyone know, I've been browsing in Firefox without any problems for a few hours now, so I recommend you to follow the advice of "Update 2", below.

    That said, this is clearly a serious issue, and Mozilla Support need to find someone who knows what they are doing (i.e. not me) look at this piece of adware. I know, it can be problem in Mozilla, but it has a lot more votes than most of the problems on this forum. In addition, if this settles once, he will probably settle again later.

    UPDATE 2

    Okay, I think he did. Go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall "Network System Driver". Ignore fear pop up, it's all the guff. Then, go to C:\ (or wherever your system drive is), Program Files (x 86 if you are on Windows 64 bit like me), common files, Config, and you will see a few (three memory?) files in there. Launch the uninstaller in the folder, and then delete the file "Config." Yes, really.

    After that, I ran the Security Essentials for a quick scan, then CCleaner, and then AdwRemover again, which meant another reboot of Windows. I think that the actions of this paragraph were unnecessary - I just wanted to be very careful.

    Now, everything seems fine. The same sites showing the toolbar Bing and OffersWizard, are not all adware at all now. I can't get this stuff hard to make an appearance. It seems to have disappeared.

    -Old stuff below-

    Updated - no, no, I was wrong. He's back. Anyone got any ideas?

    There is something which is called "Network System Driver" installed on my machine too. It should not be there. It's new. The uninstallation program tries to scare me. I'm going to uninstall. If it works, I'll come back and post an update. If it is not, and bombs my Windows Installer, well, I don't want to. Remember me for the brave gamble and stupid, that I'm about to...

    -Old stuff below-

    I just had the same problem. I also had MediaView settle too. Firefox suddenly spazzed out and I have the top Bing toolbar and OffersWizard ads everywhere in the show, some of them popping up and video playback with sound. Annoying as hell.

    Scrambled around for a while trying things that didn't work, until...

    Someone on Google had the same problem and says to use AdwCleaner - take it from CNET here: http://download.cnet.com/AdwCleaner/3000-7786_4-75851221.htmlor Google it yourself if you prefer.

    He has removed the shit. AdwCleaner is a bit heavy (it closes all programs and restarting your system), but it seems all cleaned properly.

    Before that, I tried the scanner from Microsoft Security Essentials, CCleaner and Firefox option. None of them worked.

  • wheel?

    During the scrolling of a web page with mouse wheel, a small circle with up-down arrows immediately beneath the pointer on the web page. This circle is added to easily scroll on the page.
    However, I can not find this easy circle for the scroll and began to hate it. I even uninstalled Firefox and installed Google Chrome. But this circle is also displayed in Chrome.
    Lately, it has penetrated into excel sheet also makes it more difficult to move around in excel sheet. SO I have installed Firefox againg, but the circle is still there.
    PL. help eliminate this circle of Firefox and do my web browsing easy.

    Are you aware that most scroll wheel mouse (meese, mouse?) now-a-days have a click Middle on the scroll wheel function? In Windows XP default mouse properties have absolutely no mention of this feature. On the button tab, the picture does not show even a scroll wheel, and the wheel tab there is a setting for "guts" roll Pref. However, pushing them down on the mouse wheel is "middle-click' with the drivers Microsoft P/S2 Port mouse (Intelli-point) that come with WinXP.

    It seems that the mouse can wear out, perhaps a weak spring to action to 'click' on the scroll wheel allows a middle-click when you do not expect to do a middle click. My advice is to substitute a different mouse and see if the problem goes away.
