PC cannot 'see' photos on old iPod

Try to move pictures on my old iPod 80 GB on my Win7 PC. Even in Disk Mode, no program will 'see' them although they are clearly visible on the iPod. I don't want to lose them. Tried iTunes, Win Exp, Dropbox, etc.. They see only 4 ithmbs where I tried to convert inches awhile back with a Ultra file opener. Don't remember how or why I did it now... Someone said it with the right button under 'computer' on the iPod and select "Explorer" to join the hidden files, but this option presents itself. Help!

There is a setting (a check box) on the settings screen of Photos from iPod in iTunes, for include photos full resolution.  IF this parameter is enabled WHEN sync you photos to iPod, iTunes makes a copy of the image file on the iPod photo original.  These photo image files can be retrieved using your computer's file manager, allowing the use of the disk on the iPod and search in the folder of Photos .

If this setting is not enabled, iTunes optimizes pictures to adapt small screen of the iPod (and minimize storage used on iPod) during synchronization.  Photo data are stored in a special database (not as a separate image files).  You cannot use a file manager to access the separate image files.  You need to get your photos from the original files (on your computer) that you sync to the iPod, or a backup.

There may be some third-party utilities that can extract pictures from the iPod.  However, these photos are probably low resolution compared to the original images, because iTunes convert and sync for display on the small screen of the iPod.

  • iPhoto 9.5.1 (via iTunes) does not see pictures on my old iPod Touch

    Hello

I'm retiring from my old iPod Touch (2nd generation - iPod 2.1, 32 GB, A1288).   Specifically, I'm transferring all of the pictures of her.

    I use iTunes (12.3.2) on my MacBook (2.9 GHz Core i7 (I7 - 3520M), 750GB, A1278) performer of the Mavericks 10.9.5.

iTunes did recognize the iPod and detects music, movies, Podcasts. (I don't have TV shows, books, or audiobooks on my iPod, so not sure if iTunes should detect those).

However, iPhoto (9.5.1) only detects my Photos stored on the iPod. It is not the photo library, last import iPhoto, 12 months or one of my albums.

These photos are inaccessible with this version of iPhoto?

    Thank you - Robin

    Hello golden2,.

I understand that you have a DVD picture in your SuperDrive drive, but it is not mount on the desktop and will not eject.

Please, try the procedure described in this article using the disc is ejected.

Get help with the SuperDrive slot on your Mac - Apple Support loading

Do not eject discs or discs eject slowly

    1. If the drive ejects discs slowly or appears to have difficulty, insert and eject a disc several times. Check the disc to see if it has a label or other material stuck to the disc which increases the thickness. Remove the label if possible.
    2. If the disc does not eject, try pressing the eject on the keyboard button. Some older keyboards may use the F12 key to eject the disc.
    3. If the disc does not eject, try dragging the icon of the disk to the trash.
    4. If the disc will still not eject, try to hold down the mouse or trackpad button after you restart the computer. The Superdrive should attempt to eject the disc.
    5. If the disc still does not eject, reset the System Management Controller (SMC) and repeat steps 1 to 4.
    6. If the disc still does not eject, Contact Apple or an provider of services authorized Apple, or make an appointment with a Store Apple Store for further assistance.

  • Cannot see or download photos from my iphone to my MacBook

When I plug my iPhone into my MacBook I can't put new photos on my Mac because he doesn't 'see' it in Photos.  He used to see and I would like to transfer photos.  It's not just my phone but all my other phones and iTouch.  She also does not come to the top in the Finder. All of the suggestions.

She also does not come to the top in the Finder.

The iPhone is not supposed to show in Finder, but you should be able to see Photos or image Capture.

What version of Mac OS X you have installed? The last El Capitan Mac OS X 10.11.2 update is supposed to fix a bug that prevented the photos from the iPhone appears in Photos. If you are still running Mac OS X 10.11.1, consider upgrade to Mac OS X 10.11.2.

If this isn't the problem - have you confirmed on the iPhone that it can trust the Mac?  If this is not the case, start iTunes after connecting the iPhone to USB. Unlock iPhone and when prompted confirm again that the Mac can be trusted.

  • How to add my old ipod to my new apple ID

I have an ipod shuffle 2nd generation adds a apple ID.

last year, I bought an ipad and added to a new apple ID. so, how can I add my old ipod to my new apple ID? already removed the old apple ID, but when adding n serial. new ID it shows

"According to our records, this serial number is associated with a different Apple ID. If you have more than one ID sign in Apple, my Support profile with this Apple ID to see your other products added. You are not sure if you have another Apple ID? Discover. "

    Help, please...

iPods (which are not on the iPod touch) are not directly related to an Apple ID.  They can be associated with an iTunes library (which is what you use on your computer to sync it), which is not the same thing as your Apple ID.  Simply connect to your current computer running iTunes and start using it with his iTunes library.  If it is currently associated with a different iTunes library, iTunes will replace the existing content of the shuffle with the contents of your current iTunes library.

What you did with the serial number is only for recording purposes.  A 2nd generation is old to be covered by the warranty or the extended coverage, so registration is not important.

last year, I bought an ipad and added to a new apple ID

You should continue to use your existing Apple ID, do not get a new one.  If your e-mail address changes, you can associate your existing Apple to the new email address, ID and Managing your Apple ID

  • remove my photos from the ipod

I have an old Ipod Nano that I give to someone.  How can I delete all the photos of this unit?  Thank you!

    Hey dafhfdhgfgh,

I understand that you want to remove photos from your iPod nano before giving it away. It's something I can help you with that.

The first thing to do is to connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. The next thing to do is to create a folder on your computer and then in iTunes, you will want to select this folder. Then it comes to synchronization and the photos will be deleted. Take a look at the first article below for more details.

Delete pictures and videos synced from iTunes when you can not access the originals
    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204120

Ideally, you want to restore your iPod before you give it away. This will also delete photos from your iPod but also a part of your content on it. The steps to do this are in the next section below.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

    Take it easy

  • Delete on the old iPod touch app

Impossible to see in the air what apps are loaded on the touch to remove it.

You don't delete them if they came on the iPod.

  • How can I synchronize an old iPod nano to another mac that it has been implemented on?

My father has an old iPod nano but it is worried, it may be seeing its last days. It has set up with the original computer no longer works, so he wants to save it on my computer. We share the same account iTunes, but none of his music has never been on my computer since I logged in. also, I had to change the email and our apple ID password because the original is no longer an email existed. I said he could use my old iPod touch (backup restore) that might be more reliable, but I do not know how to back up his iPod nano without erasing any data.

iTunes synchronization is generally one-way, from computer to iPod.  If the songs were purchased from the iTunes Store, and your ID shared Apple was used to buy, you can download them again (at no cost) from the screen purchase ; on the main screen of the iTunes Store, the link to the screen bought is along the right side of the window.  There is also a command in iTunes to transfer items purchased - menu bar->-> appliances-> transfer purchases of [name of the iPod] file.

Otherwise, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something as 'ipod transfer music', you should get a few useful links, including a CNET article on the subject.

Once the files of the song on the drive of your Mac, add them to your iTunes library.
