PC crashed - installation on the new PC or HARD drive

My PC with one of my installed CC Suite licenses seems to be dead. I am assessing whether I need a new PC or a new HARD drive is internal.

I have an installation on a Mac (that I want to keep), but I was wondering if I can just download "installing PC" on the new PC or HARD drive and allow with my CC Identifiez_ you?

Will I need to "deauthorise' previous installation?

I can not access the software CC deauthorise it manually from the dead PC and wonder if I try to reinstall on a new machine, if the system will say just that I'm over my limit of license because I have not already deauthorised installation?

Thank you very much

Yes. You can activate the application Adobe CC on 2 machines.

I am trying to upgrade the Toshiba 30 GB hard drive that came with the unit to a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 250 GB EIDE drive.

The CDROM is trying to write files on the hard disk, but nothing happens.

Same thing happens when I try to use the pack of 3 CD of Toshiba or the Norton Ghost recovery CD.
The computer does not see the drive. Put the old 30 GB drive and it starts right now.

    Hello

It seems that the BIOS does not recognize the new HARD drive, I suppose that it s too big
Satellite 2410 series is old and I guess that it will not support larger 120 GB HARD drive because of the 28-bit LBA s

So try with the smallest HARD drive like 80 or 100 GB.

  • Portege M400 unable to find the new 320 GB HARD drive

    Hello

I'm moving my 80 GB HARD drive to a new WD 320 and research questions. Although I've updated the Bios with the latest version of the disk hard is not down to any operating system when it is in the main HARD drive Bay. The weird thing is completely visible in the removable Bay. Is this a configuration issue, I am missing or is the machine not reconise the 320 GB drive because that is the essential motivation?

Any help or pointers would be great

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy

In my opinion, your new HARD drive cannot be recognized because of the size of the HARD drive.
The 320 are simply too. I think that the laptop would be able to use a 100 GB or 120 GB of HARD drive but the 320GB are not supported.

So change your disk of 320 GB to a smaller size and try again.

    Good luck

  • 3110CT: BIOS recognizes the new 20 GB HARD drive

Just installed a P002608, in a protected 3110CT 20 GB hard drive, now, the BIOS will not recogize the new hard drive.

    Hello

I think that you will not be able to use this 20 GB HARD drive on this good old classic.
It seems there is a BIOS limitation and this big HDD will usually not recognized by the BIOS.

Remember that the Portege 3110 (P311E) has been delivered with a 6 GB HARD drive!
There is a huge difference between the 20 GB and 6 GB of HARD drive!

In my opinion you should try other drives that support a smaller size

  • HP Notebook: the new laptop HP hard drive partitions

In my previous PC, I split the drive into 2 partitions: 1 for the OS and the other for my data, so that I can made the recovery of the operating system without losing my data. Do the same thing on my HP laptop? How can I do? And, if I managed to create 2 partitions of the hard drive (1 TB), 1 for the operating system (windows 10 Home) and the other for my files and data, I'll be able to recover the operating system? Sorry for the bad English and I thank you.

    aaff00

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

When you look at the player on this new laptop, you will see that there is already several partitions on it - because it is very probably in the GPT format, not the MBR formatting you are used to.

That said, you could reduce the OS partition to add a partition of data, as you did in the past.

You must use a tool of partitioning for this, which one is this: Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition free

As for power, then later use the HP Recovery Manager - probably not.  While it might work, one of the first things that is completely reformat the hard drive and will erase everything you have saved on this subject - and it will reformat the drive to match the original settings in the process.

    Good luck

  • Question about password on the new Satellite A105 HARD drive

I am the owner of a Satellite A105 and the hard drive was failing. I got a new hard drive but before I gave up on the current one I decided to wipe it clean and a few tools to see if it was a way to recover.

Well, when wiping clean it restarts and then he showed me a message saying "password type of HARD drive internal" or something similar. I do not know the password so I can't use the hard disk more (or is there a way to reset the password?), but before you install the new hard drive I want to know if there could be a problem installing the new hard drive in the laptop without knowing the previous password.

I mean, it locks the new hard drive or is it completely independent of the installed hard drive? The one I have is brand new, and I want to know if I plug it in and from the laptop are all I have to do?

    Hello

If the HARD drive password has been activated and you don t usually know this password then the HARD drive is locked and can no longer be used.
It s simply not accessible and it s not possible to remove this password.

    > I want to know if there could be a problem installing the new hard drive in the laptop without knowing the previous password. I mean, it locks the new hard drive or is it completely independent of the installed hard drive?
I think that he should t be any problem with a new HARD drive.
As I said the password is stored in the sector specials on the HARD drive. The old password should not exist on the new HARD drive (if the password has not been set).

  • Image portable HARD drive for transfer to the new computer portable HARD drive on the same laptop

    Location:

    Laptop was to receive the new HARD drive more big;

Configuration is complex and has a lot of data and SW engineering.

Own re - install would take too long.

In operating systems earlier I just created an image, installed the new HARD disk and restored the image.

In Vista, it does not. New HARD drive with image does not start. (Partition is correctly selected as active)

Tried other methods, including Robocopy but without success.

Sysprep is the right solution? If so, how will this affect users profiles and installed applications?

    Thank you

    Paraxis

    Hi Paraxis,

Whenever we use the system image and restore from it, the hardware must be same, as has already been made to backup. The hard disk partition should also be in the same size.

You can use Sysprep on your computer and check if that helps you solve the problem.

Preparation system (Sysprep) tool is a technology that you can use with other deployment tools to install Windows on new hardware, operating systems. The Sysprep tool prepares a computer for imaging of disc or delivery to a customer of the configuration of the computer to create a new computer security identifier (SID) when the computer is restarted. In addition, the Sysprep tool cleans up user-specific and settings specific to the computer and the data that should not be copied to a destination computer.

Access the links below for more information on Sysprep.

    Hello

Contact HP and get the OEM Installation disk and make sure you know your product Code. You need
the OEM version that everything is fine. You "might" be able to get Windows 7 for your system however
It will be more 'IFS' available.

  • Windows 7 does not recognize the new WD external hard drive added to the usb port

Recently, I tried to add my third USB WD hard drive to my computer.  It's a My Book Essential.  The meter turns and the virtual cd drive is listed in WD, but the hard drive itself does not appear on the list of devices with a drive letter.  My my first two books are readers: J:, and L: I have no "new device found" message   I search for new devices and it the PC do not find anything.  If I click on the virtual CD drive (M :) it askes if I want the computer to allow WD to make changes...) I say Yes and the screen flashes and nothing happens.
The drive be defective?  Any other ideas?

    Hello

Have you tried to connect the external hard drive on another USB port?

Try to connect the WD external hard drive on another computer.

    Follow these steps:

Method 1: You can run the troubleshooter in the following article and see if this fits the Bill.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

    Also, run the Fixit.
Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

Method 2: Check if the external hard drive is recognized in disk management and assign a drive letter to the same.

To open disk management, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, type disk management in the start search box and press enter.

    (b) if the drive is detected in disk management, I suggest you to assign a drive letter and see if that does the trick.

For instructions, see this article change, add, or remove a drive letter

  • Help the new choice of hard drive

I want to add another hard drive but don't know what to get. No matter what ATA to choose? (100 150 or 300). I'll get my memory in 6400 DDR2 at 800 mhz and eventually upgrade my processor. Like to go to a Quad core or even the slightest line QX. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Working Group stopped after the installation of the new wireless router

My working group stopped working after the installation of the new wireless router.  Router was switched were to move from DSL to fiber optic.

I have a very simple home with two laptops working group, the two are connected with a wireless router.  A PC is running XP with the updates and service packs; the other PC is Windows 7 Home premium.  This working group was running without problems for a few years.  The Working Group has been used to share files between two laptops.  Internet access was through the DSL wireless router and print was with a wireless printer, without going through the working group.

I had my DSL set out to free fiber optic last week, which meant that a new wireless router has been installed by my local phone company.  Internet works fine; wireless printer works.  The working group no longer works.  When I try to connect from XP to Win7 and I click on mode workgroup computers, I get this message:

WorkGroupName is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found.

I tried to create a new working group, the new name for the same workgroup on both machines, but this did not help.  Working groups are supposed to be simple; This seems to be a problem on the new router - telco tech support says that nothing is stuck on the router. I don't believe them.

What version of XP you use (Home or Pro)?

Can you access the Win 7 a XP computer?

You have identical accounts, passwords on both computers?

If all that was done was to change routers without making any changes on the computers, the most likely cause of the problem is a third party (other than Windows) firewall on at least one of the computers.  Being by default, a router automatically assigns IP addresses to computers on your local network.  Different brands of routers, but use different address ranges.  For example, Cisco/Linksys routers typically use the 192.168 form addresses. 1.1 with 192.168. 1. 254, while the D-Link routers typically use 192.168.1 to 192.168.0.0. 254.  A firewall configured to allow only the first IP range blocks communication to the scope of the latter.

So... What is the name and version of your anti-virus program?
What other security software is installed?

On every laptop computer, open a command prompt window
for XP: start > run > cmd > OK
for Win 7: type cmd.exe in the search box and press enter
In the black command prompt window, type the following command and press enter
    ipconfig

Please provide the values for the following for the adapter wireless of each computer
    IP (XP)
    IPv4 address (Win 7)
    Default gateway

  • Cursor not moving/working after the installation of the new keyboard

I just finished replacing the keyboard on my HP G72 due to spill water on the keyboard a few days ago & some keys no longer work after laptop parched. However, I find that things are not as they should because I can't get the cursor to move. I do not use a mouse & rely on the touchpad. I tried to remove the keyboard & reinstall several times but all about no. avail & wonder if anyone can give me some advice, even if it is the keyboard itself may be defective & I need to buy a new one. I don't want to just assume there is a problem with this new keyboard only to discover that the problem is somewhere else & that there is other things I should be doing or trying.

I had to install a new keyboard on this computer laptop sometimes last year afer having a similar accident with the flow of the water, but the installation of the new time was pretty much a piece of cake, I followed the guides on the screen, I have been looking & everything was perfect, once I had installed the new keyboard.

Thank you if you can advise.

    Hello

If possible, try a USB mouse for awhile. This way if the slider works, you can try reinstalling the drivers for the touchpad that could solve the problem. If the cursor does not work with an external mouse also then the problem could be hardware related.

Sometimes to repeat the installation process of the keyboard all over again also helps.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro requires new mac operating system. My Adobe programs already installed would work after the installation of the new operating system?

    Hey there,

I think to get the Premiere Pro, which requires that the new Mac operating system. But I installed the other Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Indesign etc years ago.  These work on my current operating system (= Mac OS X 10.8.5).) Anyway, now I wonder if my programs already installed Adobe might work after the installation of the new operating system.

    Any ideas what to do?

    Thank you very much.

Yes, they will work in the new OS.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro L650: Windows could not complete the installation on the new HARD drive

At the present time, I have a 500 GB HARD drive installed. As soon as I got it, I did a recovery on 3 DVD media.

I just tried to replace the HARD drive with a 1 to one. All copied OK and after dvd 3 that I was told to release the dvd. I did this and the computer turns off. I turned it on and it started to (don't remember the exact words used) set the drivers.

However I have now received the message that "Windows cannot complete installation" and telling me to reinstall. I did it, but after the steps above have repeated the same message appears.

    Pls help.

I don't see why my computer should be limited to a 500 GB HARD drive.

    Thank you

    Hello

The computer is NOT limited to 500 GB HARD drive
You can use more big 500 GB hard drives. You have confirmed that the laptop supports 1 TB HARD drive and the system recognizes the 1 TB HARD drive.

The problem could be the use of the recovery diskette. Why?
Because the recovery disk creates the same partitions that were available on the 500 GB HARD drive. This could create problems of system due to the large size of HARD drive.

    Solutions?
Well, I think that you could install the system by using the clean installation of Microsoft Windows disk.
Missing other drivers or tools can be downloaded from Toshiba page.

  • Problem with PSE - 2 and the new 1.5 TB drive

Hi all. First of all, I use my PSE - 2 recorded for several years without problem. AMD Athlon 7750 2.7 Ghz, 2.0 G memory bicoeur. WD 1 .5TB primary and WD 500 GB secondary drive. Win XP SP3. I recently had a disk fails and installed a new freshly formatted WD 1.5 TB as my boot drive. New installation of Windows XP and updates. When I install the elements, it now seems to install fine. The problem comes when I try to run the first time that I get "could not initialize Photoshop Elements because scratch disks are full '. Then elements shut, not allowing no not me nothing to do with configuring internal program. I tried unistalling and installing on the 500 GB drive, but still not the same error. I increased my page file memory does anyone know of a problem with the installation of the elements on a large drive or can anyone offer a possible solution to what I see? Thanks in advance for suggestions...

    JohnR.

I think Barbara meant photoshop 7, which was a little before pse2.

If you hold them Alt + right Ctrl keys after starting pse2, a dialog box

should appear allowing you to choose the drive working (keep holding

keys until the dialog box is displayed)

If you have a recovery partition on your hard drive, try this to choose

the drive working, then exit pse2. Then restart pse2 and

Preferences > Plug-ins and Scratch Disks choose your hard drive regularly to the scratch disk.

Newer versions of the EPS, the newer less than 3 or 4 don't seem to have this problem.
