PC HP ENVY 700 series: 8.1 Windows reinstall required activation code

How can I get an activation code for a reinstallation of windows 8.1?

Fullon1100, welcome to the forum.

Product key (activation code) to win 8.1 is embedded in the BIOS.  Therefore, you can use only the system recovery software to reinstall Win 8.1.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Unable to activate Windows, error wrong activation code

I bought a 2006 Dell Studio 1555 with Windows 7 Pro/service pack of a member of my family about six weeks ago. It came with an installation disc (not OEM) and a key product, but when I did a reinstall of the computer keeps telling me that it is not the right activation code. It is also very slow during the update of Windows. I checked the product with Winkeyfinder 2.0 key and the program says it is the correct key but microsoft won't always validate. I have always used and had good results with Microsoft products up to now. I was just wondering if it is my mistake to correct or someone elses. I used windows os since version 1.0 and have never had this kind of problem. Please help me find an answer. Thank you

  • HP ENVY 700-210 Desktop PC: Windows 10 improved rear output loss taken audio input on desktop HP Envy

Beats and all software audio apps work fine after 10 window installed. but I lost out in all but one of my audio jacks back during playback using any audio application (Media Player, Cakewalk, etc.).  I went to manage audio devices on the control panel and to configure/test the speakers/headphones and I went out on the set of the back to my speakers during the test; but, not for playback of audio applications.

I found a solution.  After the announcement of this question, I went through the different options for audio and put to update my sound driver.  Since I got a response from the Microsoft Community ( http://answers.microsoft.com ) forum which confirms this.

    > Go to Device Manager (press Windows + X, select Device Manager button.

    > Locate the audio adapter.  In my case, I had two entries for audio devices, "Audio inputs and outputs" and "audio, video, and game controllers.

    > I updated the driver for "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" under "audio, video and game controllers".   It worked.

    > I had to reboot twice before it takes effect.

    > It seems that it is the same driver for 'Speakers/headphones' under ' Audio inputs and outputs.

    > Update drivers is reversible using the button "revert to the version.

  • HP Envy 700 series: D Image Recovery

With regard to the D recovery image on my system.  How can I tell if it's a Windows 10 image a windows 8.1 or even an image of windows 7?  I did not have a new image after upgrade to windows 10 and don't know how or if I have to.  The calculation updates than on its own or I have to delete the image and make a new one?

When I went to do a recovery usb, option disc a little lower on a specified backup windows 7.

Yet once, how can I find out what OS is the image and then how to make sure the recovery image D is an image of windows 10?

If I do the recovery usb image, I must still D recovery image at all?  I gives me the opportunity to withdraw once the key USB is complete.

    Yes, that's correct.

I always recommend that do you the recovery however W7 image.

Here is the link for Macrium Reflect.  I used it to create images of system on my PC.

    http://www.Macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

I also did system images using the tool of imaging system (Windows 7) found at W10.

I used the W10 DVD I made Microsoft experimenting with a clean install of W10 on my PC that I had upgraded to W7 to test W10.

The installation ran flawlessly and since W10 has been previously activated, the new facility in W10 activated automatically because we "knew" that he had previously been legitimately installed and activated.

When you go this route, you will have the choice to enter a product key (which none of us have since we have updated for free), or click on the option 'I don't have a product key', which I did, and turned, off he went.

I tried restoring from an image of W10 performed through the tool of Windows 10 and it failed.

I wasn't a restore from an image of Macrium yet.

  • HP envy 700 series: a single disc hard shows that the 2 discs

When I use disk management, it shows 0 with several partitions of disk and a disk 1 without walls but 14.91 GB. That is the second drive, and if I delete it, where does that Go 14.91 go?

    @tizzy, welcome to the forum.

Disc 1 is a lable that tells you what what is supposed to do, for example, the HP TOOLS?  If no, and you are sure there is nothing on what you need, the space will become all just a portion of the free space.

You can go in for this PC file Explorer / right click on the partition and select Properties.  This will tell you what is on it.

    Windows 8.1

I bought this laptop News 16 months ago and the two USB 3.0 ports failed and he is now out of warranty.  I bought a used mobo 763422-501 similar to that of the computer now.  I read on the map after a map change parent, you must re-enable windows 8.1 and the key is embedded in the BIOS.  Is there a way to get the key of activation from the BIOS before you start the replacement?  Should I have the activation key of the replacement card or the motherboard that is in your computer now? Y at - it other traps that I could meet with this replacement?

Yes, I was referring to the Council that went into the laptop. If the new Board of Directors has a built-in Windows key can just choose it upward, but if not you have the original key to use.

  • New laptop: product upgrade to Windows 10, confused activation Code.

Tried going to Win 10.  Machine directly from the factory, never used.

Requests product key as not active.  But as OEM no key available.

CTRL-X system says not active.  Press activate and it said: everything is done.    Option not on Metro "change PC settings."

Nothing unusual.  This should apply for 99% of users.

The solution is that, somehow, this machine hardly used became totally corrupt.  Wifi networking stopped and activation has been confused.

So a factory full reset (nothing else would do) and then everything worked correctly.

    Lessons

    • The system report Windows-X of the activation status is significant noise and not only.  If it says not active there is a real problem to solve, even if the tricks of metro says it is activated.

Thanks for those who have tried to help.
