    Thank you!

    Hello

If you use Windows 7 recovery media, all of the original partitions will be automatically re-created during the recovery process.

If you want to install a retail version of Windows 7, it is enough to install the hard drive, boot from the media and on-screen installation options, choose "Custom", select "Unallocated space", and then proceed with the installation - guide on the link below for a more detailed description.

  • Password reset on HP OMNI 220-1125

I closed my HP OMNI 220-1125 desktop computer and when I have it turned back and put my password said he could connect... has not changed the password and I'm the only one who uses the computer and who lives in my house... I tried to do a reset and he asked a sort of password reset disk?

I don't have that... Help... How can I return to my office...

    Hello

    You can try the following.

Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

  • HP Omni 220 PC: Compatible for Omni 220 PC graphics card

I have an Omni 220 with an Intel i7 2.8o GHz I have 8 GB of Ram and card mother Pegatron IPISB-NK w / 2 taken minimap PCI Express and a PCI Express MXM socket that takes care of a PCI Express x 16 graphics card. The BIOS version & date is: AMI7.07 / 11/18/2011.

I currently have a GeForce GT540M graphics card and it is not able to run newer games. Anyone know of a cardboard for ~ $150, which made my existing configuration and allow me to play newer games?

Space seems to be limited to this all-in-one PC.

Yes. Space is limited. Your PC is not really intended to be upgraded.

The type of video card requires that your PC is pretty specialized.

It has a PCI Express MXM slot that supports a PCI Express x 16 graphics card (generation 2 speed), not a standard PCI Express x 16 card.

They are seriously not easy to find. There used to be a website that sold, but he went bankrupt.

  • Replaced drive now in lieu of a State, does that mean?

I had a drive fail in a PV hanging off a PERC 6, and it rebuilt to the hot spare fine. Now I'm put a new drive in the slot where the failed drive was, went into the RAID BIOS where I assumed it would be in a Ready state and waiting for me to mark it as the new hot spare, but it is in a Replacing state, not Ready, so I cant mark it as the new hot spare. Does this mean its rebuilding from the hot spare to that new drive and then the former hot spare now live drive will go back to being the hot spare again?

    Hello rjo80,

Yes the hot spare is to copy the data on the replacement drive & once it's over then it will go back to being a spare disk.  On the PERC card, there is a feature that recalled the copy that has been activated & with that enabled that is why u who sees in the PERC bios.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • replaced drive perc5i

    Hello

I recently replaced a drive in a poweredge server 2950 with perc controller 5 / i running RAID-5. There are 4 disks on slot 0 and 2 drives on the connector 1.

Replaced drive is 0:0:1 and is stuck in the ready state.  I have tried to add as a hot spare but can't seem to get this drive to come online.  While checking this point, disc 1:0:5 is also stuck in a ready state, and not online. (I think that this was replaced by a former employee in the past)

    1. can you someone explain global hot spare vs dedicated emergency and if I want to drive one.  I find this very confused and do not understand the reading that I still find.  One even told me that the replacement drive would only pick up the slack for the connector, to which it was attached?

    2. how to make disk 0:0:1 online and 1:0:5 online?

    3. the disk 0:0:0 is also in a State of predicted failure and I have a disc for this but I would like to firstly with these other two.  I understand, that it is unlikely to have two failed disks at the same time, but we are dealing with 2006 readers

Any help would be appreciated.  I apologize in advance for any terminology that I hacked upward and also for my ignorance on this subject.

    v/r

    Blair

    1.

Dedicated hot spare: A disk that is ready to take the place of a disk that fails - any disk that is part of the table that is assigned the rescue. If you have a RAID 1 and RAID 5 3x1TB 2x1To, you can assign the emergency to protect ONLY the RAID 5, so if a RAID 1 drive fails, it will not rebuild, but if a disk in the RAID 5 fails, it will rebuild in who has no place to drive.

World Relief: A disk that is ready to take the place of any disk that fails - a disk that is part of a table. In the scenario above, you can assign the disk as a global hot, then regardless of what table failed disk belongs, the hot spare will rebuild in its place.

A hot spare must be at least as large as the disk, it must replace, and a hot spare must be the same type of disk (SATA/SAS) than the player he must replace.

    bterry213
One even told me that the replacement drive would only pick up the slack for the connector, to which it was attached

    This is not true.

    2.

It depends on your configuration. Obviously you are not running just a single RAID 5, or with two drives in the State LOAN, your data table / would be gone. So, we need to know exactly the configuration that you are running.

    3.

Yes, you should start with the other two, with fully redundant table and fail in good health before the disc pred. You will need to FORCE it offline before replacing... WHEN you are ready to do so.

  • Laptop HP 15 (r063tu): would replace drive HARD regular with SSD boost speed & performance significantly on my HP 15 laptop?

    Hello

Regular HGST (Hitachi) hard drive failed on my HP 15 laptop and I chose to replace it with a spare Seagate Momentus 500 GB HDD (because of the emergency). I read in some other posts on this forum that SSDs increase startup speed and general performance much more conventional hard drives. In addition, seems SSD uses less power and generates less heat, which is optimal for laptop computers. Although SSDS are still quite expensive compared to regular hard drives (a regular 500 Gb portable HDD costs about Rs. 3500, or about $50), all in an SSD with a capacity of 240 GB Samsung / available on Amazon.in Kingston costs about Rs. 5000 (about $70). Thus, a half of the capacity of a normal HARD drive SSD hard drive costs still much more

Would consider to replace my current HARD drive with an SSD if it's worth the investment (I intend to use this laptop for more than two years).

Also, please confirm if my model supports SSDS, as he has probably that one Bay to hold an SSD or a normal HARD drive. Would be useful you can offer a good/model mark of SSDS as well. Thank you very much.

    See you soon!

    Riou-lyer

I support the opinion of Hüffer about SSDS and laptops.

I replaced the spinner in my laptop HP 2011 with an SSD and it's like having a new machine.  It starts instantly and runs a lot faster, more I don't have to worry about the rotation drive going bad.

An SSD is the best investment to improve the performance of your laptop.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A200 - recovery for HARD drive replacement drive

    Hi all,

I have here an A200 owner said that he has just stopped working, it gives the message "BOOTMGR is missing", it was running Vista Basic. Vista recovery disc found no operating system (recovery program has written a few files from Notepad on the drive which seem to be the only things on it) install the drive in an external enclosure and try on another computer shows that the only files are the ones notebook. A disk check program found a few bad sectors.

I intend to replace the drive, my question is what I can do. the operating system, he had a legal copy of Vista, but it came from Harvey Norman with no recovery disc (if the discs provided?) that I have to buy a new copy of the operating system.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Hi Zamica,

I m a bit confused... As a first step, you wrote that the recovery disc found no operating system and then you wrote that he came with no recovery disc

Anyway, if you n t have a Toshiba Recovery disk, you can order it on the Web from Toshiba site (depending on the exact model) or you can ask a service provider authorized in your country.

  • Portege R100 install XP on the replacement drive

    Help, please

My hard drive in my R100 went bad and I replaced it and it became a nightmare to install XP.

I spent 2 days on this subject, and I can't break! I have the original Toshiba USB floppy drive that can be accessed by cell phone and a desktop USB external CD/DVD drive mounted in a USB chassis. It's the Sony DRU - 540A. I tried everything on this forum and it does not work.

I copied the I386 folder in the C: / once I'd fdisk and formatted it and when windows was running from the CD it came to try to find the asms file. When I run the Portege R100 Recovery Bootdisk V1.1.zip he can see my Cd/DVD drive however the virtual D: it creates, causing the PC to freeze when I run Windows NT.

Please help because it's pretty darn painful!

    Thanks Brendan

Why would you copy the files from the CD to your HARD drive? To install an operating system, in your case Windows XP just boot from the CD and follow the instructions given by the installation routine.

You can change the priority of booting into the BIOS settings, or by pressing the C key laptop start upward.

Hello world. I have a Satellite 1400-503 through the 2212 mixed sd - r drive that makes the problems on reading and writing of cd and dvd. I want to replace but freezes when I tried to boot the laptop with other devices. The same problem also came with the replacement of the hard disk. When I handed the former parts Notepad starts. I did a bios update without any results. The local representative in Greece (where I live) wants 400 euro to replace the drive. Any suggestions please?

    Thank you George Fazakis

    Hello

Unfortunately, it is easy not exactly to say why the laptop freezes. Maybe you used unsupported devices. You reinstall the Windows operating system after the replacement of the device?
If this is not the case, try it.
