PC is executed only USB 1.1 when one USB 2.0

Hi guys,.

I use an old HP/Compac DC 7100 SFF computer I've had for a few years. I run Windows XP pro (SP3) on this subject with the 2.8 ghz and 2 GB RAM chip.

According to the list of specifications, this particular version of the beast should have many takes USB 2.0 at the rear and 2 more at the front. But he does not appear. When I plug a USB device, I get a notification next to the clock that indicates that this device would be faster using USB 2.0 and for a list of USB ports, click here. But if I click, it shows nothing.

The problem has been noticed only week last when I wanted to transfer files from a memory stick to PC and it took forever.

In any case, I can access this page...

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=410114&p...

Which is a list of software and drvers for my PC, but being a numpty, I don't know where I need the article. I don't even know if my USB problem can be cured by one of these downloads. With a little luck and Godspeed, one of you experts types will be able to tell this poor sinner how to get USB 2.0 onboard.

See you soon,.

Steve

OK, it's a solution that I tried and seen some other report success with. Go to Device Manager, find the list of the Universal Serial Bus, expand it by clicking the sign +. Now starting from the bottom, uninstall each USB device that will allow the PC. Restart, and then wait until Windows detect the USB and reinstall the drivers.
