PC laptop Envy 17: Envy 17 laptop PC fingerprint reader works only after the start

The fingerprint on my Envy 17 reader reads only a fingerprint the first time that I connect once the system is booted (after shutdown or restart). From time to time, it will read once the system is locked, but that is extremely rare. I put the system in place using my MSN account and also configured SimplePass with default settings. SimplePass version is 8.00.57.

I looked on several other issues in the forum and did not find something like this. Other issues reported when related to player doesn't work do not, for example. I found a few link in some messages describing such tasks that go back to a previous version of SimplePass.

I don't know if it is related to my problem or not, but I noticed that the drive light sometimes flashes a sequence once the system is running. It seems that when the light flashes, it will not be read. It stops flashing when I placed my finger on the reader. (I think that the typical sequence is 3 flashes, pause, 1 flash. This cycle repeats.) This isn't always for that well, and I have found no correlation between the flashes and the measures taken after the initial logon.

I made the fingerprint reader driver, rather than later.

I uninstalled SimplePass (after update to the last with no luck) and the drive works fine now. I use RoboForm for my password management and it supports using the fingerprint so I'm covered there. I guess it should be renamed "SimplyNoPass."

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15-ae103na: HP Envy 15 AE-103NA fingerprint reader

SO, since having a HP laptop, I had one for 4 months and then HP gave me this beautiful machine... Unfortunately questions... maybe my fault this time well!

So, I deleted windows 10, installed a Samsung 1 TB SSD and installed my genuine copy of Windows 7 Ultimate x 64.

I avoided to install other drivers and updates of Windows, just in case that leads to a format the drive again.

So for now, I have not installed the chipset drivers, bios update or all drivers for the devices in device manager see the below, but I'll do it now... If necessary, they can be uninstalled.

So, I was on the HP site, had the HP to choose my system drivers and the laptop and installed the driver list at the keyboard, mice & input devices etc. and installed the single pass software relevant... Nothing... even at the start... the drive is not yet flash or blink at all.

Previously, I had the system in place all updates etc, then still nothing so I thought I would start again ensure a clean slate. Done the many things suggested on other threads, but nothing yet... so that brings me to create this thread, because it is of a different model of laptop someone elses discussions I've read.

    Eitherway SP74365 & SP71729 drivers do nothing,

I would really like to avoid having another problem for 4 months with the client side of HP of things then I would really not the tech guys to dig and go hardcore on this issue, if you don't mind.

I thank you very much in advance,

    Kind regards

Well, I have figured it out.

The key is not to install the latest version of Intel (R) _USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver.

For 2015 ALL HP laptop computers that have Windows 7 installed, you need this driver...

    Intel (R) _USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_4.0.4.51

Don't download HP cos it does not theres missing drivers in the installation package that is why devices such as:

TruVision Cam, Bluetooth, biometric devices, and a host of other USB based devices don't work... the drivers are not included.

    Use THIS link, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22824/USB-3-0-Driver-Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Controller-Driver-for-Intel-8-9-100-Series-and-C220-C610-Chipset-Family.

I recommend that you install it immediately after the new installation of Windows 7 before ANY updates to Windows.

I can only really recommend this on the latest models of 2015 for example:

HP Envy 15 AE - XXX NA

HP Envy 17 AE - XXX NA

but it will probably work with others too.

    Install drivers and reboot!

After that, you can install synaptics simplepass, Nvidia, etc..

You also won't likely NO internet access at ALL at first, you will need to go to HP site on another computer and download the graphics Intel, LAN and Wifi Intel drivers and install them in order to be able to directly download all applications from your laptop.

IE on windows 7 is old so Web pages appear incorrectly/broken...download and install Firefox or chrome.

Job done! I'm going to this post in the forum and see if I can get it to make a post sticky!

    Good luck!

    Adam

  • Laptop HP ENVY 15z-j100 CTO: Fingerprint Reader detection (HP ENVY 15z-j100 CTO < ENERGY STAR >)

Recently I formatted my laptop after returning from Windows 10. Unfortunately, I had to do it through hard-wiping instead of software reset or rollback. Now, I can't get my fingerprint reader to work. I found almost all the drivers for my laptop via this Web site and tool for detection of HP model except for the fingerprint reader and its software (SimplePass), which is weird because I downloaded the installer of the driver on this site once the detection tool has led me to the page. How can I get that back?

  • Laptop is not able to restart after the installation of SP1

I have a Toshiba laptop which has Vista Home Basic.
I installed SP1 last week and everything worked fine.
EXCEPT with SP1 I could not connect my iPod and so I decided to do a restore of the system for when I didn't have the SP1.
My iPod has continued to have problems anyway.

So just today. I tried to reinstall SP1.
Let him set up. Everything seems to happen normally.
I came back a couple hours later and my laptop has a black screen.
    It also has white text:

    !! Oxc01a001d! 9006/94145 (\Registry\Machine\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\...)

I turned off the laptop and tried to restart my laptop.
It is said that you cannot start Windows. I tried to do a repair. And I get a notification saying that he is unable to repair the computer automatically. And I tried to make me do a system recovery. ((I will not attempt recovery of the system until I know I must. Because I did not know this update was extremely important and have not backed up my files))

Again, I rebooted and this time I tried to start Windows normally.
Yet once, I get the above code.
So I guess that the laptop is verification of files? before we start?
This code is constantly flashing/blinking way glitch. (I hope this is necessary)

I think I can assume that this is not a good sign.
Can someone help me? And I would like to know what to do?
My idea is now to let sit and try to load all the files, otherwise I'll do a reinstall System...:]

BTW: At this time I had my laptop on the white text. And my computer is in standby mode. I tried to 'wake up' and now the screen is all black. Now I'm afraid it is stuck in standby mode, which has also held several weeks ago...

  • Laptop stops shortly after the start.

I have a slight puzzle on my hands. I was working on a DV5-1012EA which had a damaged palm rest/touchpad. I found a replacement and very well equipped. I had the laptop works well and decided to run windows update. Everything seemed fine, but after a reboot (which seemed normal after a windows update) it was decided to close. I tried a few reboots but no joy.

I then used a recovery disk but it was in the middle of the second "loading files" and he stopped.

I ran the diagnostic test of the system via the ESC menu and fine tested memory, it stop at Midway through the HARD drive test.

I tried to boot up a Linux live disk with no HARD drive, but once more, it has failed.

I booted into the BIOS, but after 3 minutes it stop new

I tried different hard disks and memory, but it makes no difference. The system just stops.

What a coincidence it occurred after the Windows Update? I changed the material so any conflict caused by the update wouldn't be here.

I can't think it is overheating of the CPU or GPU, and that is why he stops? Maybe all the work of dismantling the until that replace the touchpad/palmrest dislodged the thermal/thermal heatsink paste?

Please can someone advise me because I want to make this thing run again and return to my friend?

    Thanks in advance

    Changy

    Hello

Yes, as I mentioned in my original post, I booted into the BIOS, but it turns off after 3 minutes. It's what made me suspect overheating. It was very quick to stop if open windows, but slower with the BIOS that requires less work CPU.

I have removed the radiator and check the thermal paste. I'll remove it and use the new thermal paste just to be sure

    Thank you

  • recovery of preloaded HP Client Security Suite for 455 G1 laptop with fingerprint reader

have a HP ProBook 455 G1 with fingerprint reader. Due to him having to replace the failed hard drive on the laptop, I had to use the support of recovery to re - install Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on the computer as well as all the drivers and other software that has been included on the recovery disks. However, I was not able to get the version of the HP Client Security software that is listed on the support page and downloads to install correctly. I was wondering if there was a link or a way to find another copy of the original version of HP Client Security that came pre-installed on the system. For more information, the number of product for my laptop is F2R65UT. Any help or assistance that can be granted on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

It is a follow-up to the above post about the G1 455 ProBook with fingerprint reader. Whenever I try to install the security software, it keeps giving me an error code (error code 101). This code requires the installer to roll back and does not allow the software to install. I don't know if this helps much to find a solution to the issue. Any help you can give me on this matter is greatly appreciated.

  • How can I get my laptop to recognize my printer wireless after the automatic update?

After the automatic update I couldn't open any program (Word, Excel, internet etc.) that I managed to resolve by restoring my laptop settings before the update. My laptop will not find my printer through devices and printers, and when I go to print a document, an error box pops up saying "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the installation of the current printer.

    HI @vdolcourt,

    Thank you for your query.

I seized you fingerprint reader was working fine but suddenly stopped.

You did it all change hardware or software because he worked? You did all your Windows updates?

You have the last validity sensor driver installed. The HP Support Assistant can help you in this process.  Here is a link for HP Notebook PCs - troubleshooting a (Windows 8) fingerprint reader. The steps should be the same for Windows 10.    Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver?

I have Windows Vista 32 bit installed on my HP DV1659US and have no audio.  I tried to install the driver SP35811.exe, but he always comes by saying that it has failed.

What I am doing wrong?  The deivce Manager puts an exclamation next to an 'unknown device' in the section 'other devices '.  When I click on the 'unknown device' and click on 'details', that's what I get:

    Thank you

    Hello:

It's the correct driver because I unzipped and see the hardware ID for the audio chip that is listed in the file of configuration information.

    So, see if it works...

Run the file again.  Conclusion of any windows error.

Go to Device Manager and click on the unknown device with the details that you have posted.

Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver. Select the browse my computer for driver software, then select Let Me Pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.

Then select the disk button. Then select the Browse button and navigate to C:\SWSetup\sp35811\wis30B2a and see if the pilot goes like this.

  • E0Q10AV: Laptop is no longer sleep properly after the upgrade of the SSD.

    Hey there!

My laptop Pavilion 15 t-n100 touchscreen goes to sleep when the lid is closed properly, or even completely off when said. He enters this weird State where the light on the power button and the WiFi switch light goes orange but continues to stay on. I can't turn on the laptop by pressing the power button or the keys on the keyboard. Battery regularly and soon enough, the computer laptop completely off. I can also get to fully power off by pressing the power button.

    • I looked for a new BIOS on the support page - http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-TouchSmart-15-n100-Notebook-PC-series/54...
    • Absolutely no BIOS is available for this computer on any page of HP.
    • I ran the HP Support Assistant who was installed with the laptop.
    • I ran the Intel Driver Update Utility 2.2. It's all there.
    • Sometimes, when I run the online tool for updating my computer on the HP support page it will tell me that there is a recommended Intel MEI to install. I told him to do, and then he tells me I'm downgrading when I do this. Should I try a MEI decommissioned HP?
