PC Windows 98, said, but it is Windows XP

I try to run the game, but pc says that it must be Windows 2000 or superior, I am running windows xp, how can I solve this problem

XP is a version higher than that in 2000, the problem must be somewhere else. Is what game this? "192GO should be enough for everyone." (of the miniseries "Next generation jokes")

  • try to burn a cd put a new drive in as he said, but he told me the same thing

Not possible to burn a cd

    Hello

Try to close all programs, then put a CD? Try different speeds and two Live and
Controlled formats. Sometimes, if you have installed several burning programs that they will compete
for resources against each other then uninstall (one or more) could help.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable
or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

  • Windows 8 saying the printer, but still printing error

Good so I just got a new labtop (hp) with windows 8 and hp envy 4500 printers range, whenever I have print something (via wireless) on the labtop in the upper right corner, a popup will say print error (can't remember exactly what he said) but eitherway, it's saying that, but the printer prints. Why it keep popping up saying error or if it is but there is nothing wrong and it is printing. Not a huge problem but kind of boring, thanks, Sarah

    Hi TonyKnVA

I understand that the printer does not print several pages.

Here is a url to temporarily disable all the startup programs to see if one of them is causing problems.

    Disable any Antivirus software.

Try to print a document from multiple page of two different applications.

You must follow the same steps to reactivate all.

Let me know if that makes a difference.

I've been 'online' for 12 years but I'm 74 and still it is very complicated for me. I use pc for email to kep in contact with the family and to play games. Who is generally not difficult.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

  • Satellite C660 needs new HARD drive - Windows 7

    Hello

My C660 needs a new hard drive. It came with Windows 7 Home premium pre-installed, and I would like to get back to that.

If I go to Microsoft to download windows 7 with my product key, it gives an error. I contacted the support Ms. I don't remember what they said, but they could not help, perhaps because it was a version of installed manufacturer?

So if I get a new hard drive, how can I go back to my previous operating system, Windows 7 Home Premium?

    Help please?

You can have the previous operating system (recovery image) If you install it using a recovery (DVD or USB) media.
I assume that you did not create this media recovery in the past, the right?

If you always use your laptop and pre-installed OS try please create this media using pre-installed recovery media utility. More info on what you can read in the document of the user manuals.

  • Starting a DVD on the new FreeDOS Z510 (to install Windows 7)

OK, I spent the first 6 hours with my new Z510 and exit BIOS and on several forums and how-to sites!

I have a Z510 (model 20287 on the back, 59400165 shop, Core i5 - 4200M) which only comes with the FreeDOS operating system (not decommissioning of Win8!)

I would like to install Windows 7 64 bit family.

But I can't seem to boot from the DVD! "EFI DVD/CDROM (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GU90N) has been blocked by the current security policy" is the main problem I guess.

Here are "screenshots" of something, that I tried after a lot of reading (it should be in Legacy Support for the boot for Win7 Mode, Boot priority set to UEFI first - maybe because my DVD drive is listed under EFI and OS Optimized Defaults should be set on other OS):

    https://drive.Google.com/folderview?ID=0B0N33N4o6EiualhyN3dvbW54d0U&USP=sharing

Of course, in the separate Start Menu (on this Z510, the order does not appear with the rest of the BIOS) I put the DVD player at the top too. (It's in the screenshot above too)

Given that it did not work, I went on Boot Mode UEFI and after the 'EFI DVD/CDROM (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GU90N) has been blocked by the current security policy' normal message, another 2 entered... see these screenshots:

    https://drive.Google.com/folderview?ID=0B0N33N4o6EiuUUVtV0FHOURfbG8&USP=sharing

Even if I don't had not really changed anything physically, I really worried after given that this action was somehow made my material under Legacy disappear!

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B0N33N4o6EiudHhxNWxkMzhDUVE/edit?USP=sharing

But somehow, after next time turn on the PC, the Windows installation disc starts! HOWEVER, the following problem:

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B0N33N4o6EiuSUJXZ2s5bEFDcXc/edit?USP=sharing

And the ability to format is also grayed out.

    If the ASSISTANCE requested:

How should I complete the installation from here?

I don't know anything about the EFI, MBR or GPT on... Is there something wrong here?

I was counting on the partitioning to the point I had until: 100 GB for drive C to install Windows on and the rest for the D drive and storage... Can I get rid of the Partition system 1 while doing this?

I hope that the photos are a help and not a hindrance. I thought them better than my wordy explanations.

    naushikaa wrote:

Thank you both for your input.

So first I tried what LenBlazer recommended: while The Startup Mode is set to UEFI, I made sure the Secure Boot has been disabled. Saved, went back to back in Boot Mode to legacy and Boot Priority UEFI first (as in the first batch of screenshots as you said), but it won't let me boot from the DVD. (Of course I put it to boot from the DVD in the Boot Menu for others too.) In addition, no Secure Boot option can be seen more, under these new settings.

Then I tried what lknaidu said. So Boot Priority for the first legacy now. But the problem is with your last step,

"prioritize the optical drive which is not referred to as EFI (the one that doesn't have a prefix of EFI).

Optical drive only it lists is one with an EFI prefix:

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B0N33N4o6EiuM3AzaFN3ay1ieDQ/edit?USP=sharing

HOWEVER, this allows me to boot from the DVD, but I still have the problem with MBR / EFI / GPT partitioning of the installation stage.

Speaking of which, I looked at your link, and I see that there are benefits to a GPT system. Do you recommend also this? The link said to ensure that the chipset is UEFI v2.0 + compliant; I tried without success - it is an Intel Chipset HM86 processor.

In any case, always the same basic problem. Any other ideas? Thank you

As stated previously, you must disable secure boot and must confirm that it is really off before changing the settings as shown in the first link. There is a problem with the bios and it is: well secure boot is disabled status shows not disabled but active (see your photo in one of the other link).

Here's how I did it recently.

  • cannot minimize window programmatically

I just found a 'feature' of LabVIEW (2015, if it matters) I'm not sure is one with which I agree.

I found that I can't programmactically minimize the window façade a VI if:

Properties of VI--> the appearance of the window--> Custom--> allows the user to minimize the window box is not checked.

I guess I like to make a distinction between what the programmer is allowed to do compared to what the programmer wants to allow the user to do.   Is this an unreasonable request?

You know, I believe what you said, but wrote a small demo of LabVIEW (in 2015) and proved it to myself.  But it also gave me the "fix."  Before you try to reduce the window (which I assume you do PS node to invoke. Open, status = reduced), get the FP. Property Minimizable and then set the FP. Property Minimizable to True.  Now you can reduce and eventually bring him back by calling FP. With entries by default, after which you open again FP set. Minimizable to the original value that you're the first 'Get '.

Note that it works or not the VI has "Allow the user to minimize" or not.  Of course, if it is not set, then all calls to the public Service. Minimizable are not needed...

Can I use any dissk installation of re - install no matter what windows I had pre-installeed.

    Hello

You probably don't need to know what version of Windows, but the Panel of configuration/system will tell you if you are interested. There will probably be a sticker on the laptop (not the one that you can not read, under the cover near the mouse pad), which you said, but I guess you could have peeled off.

Look at this link for how to do a system reinstall...

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c02638587&tmp_task=solveCategory&CC=UK&DLC=en&lang=en&LC=en&product=4066817

In addition, if provided with the laptop or you recovery disks burn them for yourself these should also do the job.

Before do you a re-install back up your data you can restore it later. You will also need to re - install the software that was installed after purchase.

He gave me the usual message about how he had disappeared in hibernation because the internal temperature exceeded blah blah blah (don't remember exactly what he said, but it wasn't the basics of it) now normally at this stage it will restart and be well and I can continue with what I was doing before. I press the power button then screen shows the following

1 HP screen of the logo with the message "Press ESC for Boot Menu" at the bottom left then flashes to the next screen.

    2. starting Acronis Loader...
Press F11 for Acronis Startup Recovery Manager... (horizontal cursor flashing after...) then flashes to view the first screen again

and this process is repeated again and again until I got disabling or press ESC to #1 screen or F11 to the screen #2 how it will load either the menu start screen where I can access info sys diagnotics, BIOS or system recovery system.  or Acronis where I can make backup dics or start the Recovery Manager (who I'm trying to deal with the system if that is possible at this time because there are pictures and things on the hard drive that I want not deleted if it can be avoided)

the process is normal to start but after #2 it should be blank with blinking cursor and then begin loading windows... I cannot at this point. He repeates just the first two times, I let it run for about 10 minutes at a time to see if she would do anything else, and it won't.

I bought this computer used. The battery has never held a charge, I've always had it up to use it, but I don't know if I had to buy a new battery it would probably work. I never had the money to make and never really needed it so never bought.

I tried to access the BIOS and it requires system administrator password. I tried to enter my password that I used to connect to windows, but that did not work. After 3 tries I have a message to disable the system with [6207076] below.

Is there someone who can help me to fix it?

I really don't want System recover unless there is a way to access the LIBRARY (documents, music, pictures) if I can help it. I don't have the ability to transfer all of my photos from my other computer before that happened.

    Please help me!

    Hello

The code below should allow you access the bios menu:

    76165078

Once, I would like to delete the password entirely - use the arrow keys to select the Security tab and press ENTER.  Use the arrow keys again to select the admin password option and press ENTER.  Enter the current password (use the above code), and then for the new password, just leave this blank and press on enter – do the same for the confirmation field.  Press f10, select this option to save the new settings and press to enter.

Once completed, boot into the bios menu and reset the default settings - it may also be useful running a quick diagnostic on the HARD disk and the memory that is to be found under the Advanced or the diagnosis tab.

    Kind regards

Microsoft online please contact the Support Service.

From your description, I understand that there are 3 updates failed to install. If I misunderstood your concern, feel free to let me know.

I understand the inconvenience that this matter has caused. Rest assured that I will do my best to help you solve this problem.

This problem may be caused by the following factors:

    1. some third-party programs affect.

2 corrupt Windows Update temporary files.

In order to narrow down the cause of this problem and solve it, please refer to the following steps. After completing each step, please check the result again on the Windows Update Web site.

NOTE: Some third-party programs can affect the Windows Update service. If you run third party applications such as web accelerators, Internet or Spyblocker (programs designed to improve the speed of the Internet connection), security or anti-virus programs (Norton, McAfee, etc.), I recommend temporarily disable us or to stop and then try to access Windows Update later, please understand that we are disabling these programs only for troubleshooting purposes and we can re-enable these programs after that we finish troubleshooting.

    Step 1: Clean boot

    ==============

This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loader program or service. Please, perform the following steps:

    4. check if we can upgrade the system to boot.

Note 1: Temporarily disable the startup only, group prevents the loading at startup, startup programs. This should not affect the system or other programs. We always run manually these programs later.

Note 2: We can check on start up Normal in the general tab to return to the Normal Mode after that we get this issue is resolved.

If the problem persists, please continue to try step 2.

Step 2: Rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution Windows Update

    ================================================

    2. now click on the 'File' menu and click on the "save under".

    3. in the left pane, click "Desktop" and click the "Save" button.

The file will be saved to your desktop. Please send the file

Note: When you attach files to emails, the process will vary depending on the used e-mail application. While you compose the message, the most applications will provide you with a 'Join' button or paper clip icon click to attach a file. After clicking on this button/icon you need to navigate to the file you want to attach and select it by either double clicking on it or by clicking on it once, then clicking on the button "join".
