PCI-8335 (MXI-3) when the fiber is connected to the map PCI8335-> PC freezes

When I connect the fiber on the map of PCI8335, the Tower Mini of PC DELL Vostro 220 Desktop freezes (software, mouse, keyboard)
If, during startup, the fiber is not connected, the PC starts and everything works normally (with the exception of the communication and the application of National Instruments because the fiber is not connected)
If I plug the fiber when the PC is completely started, 2 bright LEDs; then when I run the application, MX-3, the PC freezes.
Map of the PCI-8335 is down or is this another problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi all

The installation still work since my repair on 10 September 2015. After that analysis with National Instruments France, the likely cause of the failure is that, during a power outage (storm or stop because of the fire detection device) the remote PXI chassis stopped but not the PC because it's on the inverter.

/ ! ------PXI / PCI chassis should be launched before the PC; order to operate the 2 switches in the chassis does not matter.

During my last speech (10 September), I so reset the chassis and restart the PC after the chassis (IE in the correct order) and since everything is working. This is the solution.

If this tutorial may be useful to others...

  • PCI-6733 signal noise when the computer screen is plugged, the weight on the case

    Greetings,

I hope that it is in the right section.

    Card: PCI-6733

I'm a 60 Hz, 2 mV peak-to-peak with a compensated 2.4mV noise when the monitor is plugged into the VGA port.

Same card in a second computer, problem is more serious, 4mV Ridge to Ridge, 4.3mV offset. When I push on the case near the power supply the offset rises from a few millivolts.

The two computers are running the same exact versions of software and drivers. Dell and quite similar to each other in both material and form.

I have a third computer that noise coming out of the map is horrible no matter what.

I exchange business cards and the problem is with the computer, does not follow the acquisition cards.

No idea how to solve this problem and what is the cause?

    Thanks for any thoughts!

    Tall_Michael,

Looks like you may be plugging your monitor and your computer in different points of sale.  If this is the case, this is probably the cause of your noise and can be eliminated by connecting the two devices on the same socket.

Here are some articles that deal with the noise you are experiencing and various workarounds in the cases where what I mentioned above are not the case:

  • Is it possible for HA / VMotion to migrate a virtual computer when the fiber of SAN connectivity is lost / Cup?

    Use: Version ESX 4 / vCenter4

I have a cluster with ESX 4 nodes running HA. I want to know if it is possible for vmotion to migrate a virtual computer if the host on which it lives has a loss of fiber optic connectivity to SAN/back-end storage. I can get VMotion to work when I go unplug the Ethernet cable to the back of the esx host, but when I unplug the fiber connections that will freeze the virtual machine and no migration will happen. Is it possible to do this with VMotion HA? I also tried to use aggressive DRS to see if when I unplug the fiber it lose connectivity and a loss of memory or cpu and migrate... so not happened... the vm always reports to vCenter that memory and cpu have not changed... then DRS don't not kick to migrate the virtual machine.

    Thank you.

There is no such thing for HA. HA only fires when there is a host or a network isolation fails. DRS also does not realize this. However, there are a lot of events that can trigger an action such as "maintenance mode". don't know if there is a for the failures of way, just check it out. It is described in the following pdf document: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40_u1/vsp_40_u1_admin_guide.pdf

  • Processor does not reach 100% of the speed of the clock when 'PCI Lock' is disabled in the Advanced Start parameters

    Hi guys,.

Ran into a strange problem, so thought I'd give this forum to try. Tried to discuss on the Windows forums community but they have been seen nothing of all this.

I noticed that the machine felt slow in the last month, but never gave him much however. Today, for some reason, I opened the Task Manager and noticed that no matter how much charge the CPU is obtained, the speed does not pass more than 2.28 GHz (Standard clock speed is 2.3 GHz). Now, at first I thought that it could be the power settings, since I got the butterfly processor speed previously by reducing it to 95%. After a few game, I spread the power settings, since the system does not meet them if you cut the State of maximum power, the processor speed drops too. When the value to 100%, it does not more than 2.28 GHz. In other words, since it's a pocessor mode, because it reaches its full capacity, it won't in mode.

I updated the drivers and BIOS from the manufacturers Web site. The only way to fix this is by checking the box 'PCI Lock' in the advanced in msconfig startup options. When the box is checked, the computer restarts and the processor works properly, increasing up to 3.3 GHz. The only problem with either once the box is checked, problems with other devices, for example, the network card is not recognized at all. Uncheck box reboot and network card functions as it should, but the processor is throttled.

I don't know if it could have a bearing on the question somehow, but fails the secondary HARD disk spin down according to the power settings. It is supposed to stop after 1 minute, but despite having no activity (in resources, or audible reads/writes monitor) it keeps spinning. If you have any advice on the processor, maybe you have an idea on this instead? His eating his power and producing unnecessary heat and noise because the hard drive is used for backups.

    The specifications are:

    Reference Dell M3800

    Windows Pro 10

CPU i7-4712HQ 2.3 GHz (up to 3.3 GHz)

    16 GB OF RAM

    512 Samsung SSD (with BONE)

    Secondary 1 to

I don't know when the issue started, since performance was slow for about a month and I can't blame new facilities for this. The PCI lock seems the only way to solve the problem temporarily. All the drivers are up to date, even tried downgrading and upgrading the BIOS. Only the PCI lock seems to have no effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi cc171,.

Thank you for your continued support.

After a few more game, I'm desperate and "reset" of the operating system (keeping my files). That, to my surprise, did not help. I've done some windows system checks in the cmd (sfc and dism) and tools are a few corrupted files (which they were unable to repair due to files being corrupted as source). I then provided dism an iso windows fresh to keep system files to and managed to fix the image. Unfortunately, this does not solve my problem.

Here are the corrupt system file that could not be repaired:

Could not reproject corrupted file [23 ml:24] "? \C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64"\[l:10]"opencl.dll"; source file in the store is also corrupted

I then proceeded to do a complete factory reset (because I lost all my applications anyway, there was nothing else for me to lose). The system restored to W8.1, which is really strange, because I deleted all the files of previous windows.old through disk cleanup. Even if I had retired, good news. The limitation was missing, and the drive turned down when realized. I've been invited to upgrade to W10, I did (the download process and installation is rather time consuming...) and once up and running, the CPU still works correctly.

Of course, my next step, has been updated all my drivers using my product key on the DELL Web site.

I downloaded everything manually and kept checking my processor after each installation/reboot. Everything worked fine until I installed the:

    * Intel platform dynamic and thermal setting driver *.

After a reboot, the Task Manager showed once again to the top of the formidable GHz 2.28. I put a system restore point, just like windows has fully booted, before updating the drivers, so I decided to restore it at this point. No luck, the processor still be strangled. Because I have nothing to lose, once more, I do a reinstall full (which once more, the rolls be back to W8.1. After around an hour, the W10 up and running. I went to update all my drivers, exuding the platform driver and dynamic thermal setting, with reasonable success. The processor is no longer limited. The only problem, after installing the motion sensor driver, the HARD drive stopped spinning down. At this point, I don't have time to play, decided not to back down.

Thus, at the end of the day, the culprit to my problems were the official DELL drivers:

System utilities | Intel platform thermal and dynamic framework pilot (104 MB)

    &

ST Microelectronics LNG3DMTR pilot sensor of movement (35 MB)

With the new installation of Windows (and the Motion Sensor installed Driver), once more SFC/scannow found errors that cannot be repaired. Thorugh DISM, I managed to repair the image of the system, but the HARD drive always turns freely. More importantly, the limitation is GONE.

Regarding your questions above, I don't have a chance to check if there is power or the current limit, but there's certainly been no thermal regulation. The CPU is still relatively fresh, and fans did turn, even if very quietly (now with the processor works properly the temperature rises up to 84 degrees (up 3.29 Ghz) and fans spin very hard under prolonged load).

Regarding the HDD, no system or other utilities consulted the reader (analyses excluded antivirus, indexing and so forth that unchecked, the disc is only used as a manual backup). Even if the HARD drive isn't spinning down, no limit certainly makes life a lot easier. Ill wait for a new version of the driver for the motion detector see if it solves the problem, if not, disconnect the drive from the motherboard may be my only option.

I don't know why the official Dell drivers could corrupt the file system, since they were after all, designed for this particular system, on this particular operating system. There are no other programs interfere with their installation and operation, given that the pilots were the first things to be updated.

At the end of the day, I found the problem, it's a good step forward, but it seems that the resolution is out of my reach.

    Thanks for your help!

  • PCI-8335 does not work in several PCs

The card I used in a Dell 670 has failed in other Dell platforms, with other computers not starting not completely.  It appeared as if the PCB pulled down the supply voltage of bus, for lack of a better explanation.  Now, the original Dell 670 boot no more with the card installed.  Is there something that could be an easy control to see what is happening?

In addition, there are a position of jumper on the Board 8335.  What would the rider if installed?

    Simran,

Thanks for responding. I think that the problem is resolved for now (the replacement of a card the fixed was the PXI-8335, the PCI-8335), but it would be nice to understand the reasons for the symptoms.

To repair, the PXI-8335 are transferred to another location within the PXI chassis. On the other hand, another card PXI-8335 was put in the same slot PXI-1000 b and then works the optical fiber link. For some reason, the PXI-8335 original card that worked at the same time, no longer works.

I'm curious as to the mode of failure of the PXI-8335, which was replaced. It was a progressive deterioration, or something has suddenly failed? I am also puzzled as to why the heat sinks have so hot when you drive a fiber optic link. If the relationship deteriorates, the map drive LED to a higher level to compensate for?

These are questions of material beyond the scope of my immediate need, which was to get the fiber link online. Now that is done!

Thanks for reading, and if you have any other ideas let me know.

    Best regards, Ted

I'm upgrading our test system for Windows 7 and NI Developer Suite 2012 DS2 in Windows XP and NI Developer Suite 2008 4th quarter. I have a problem with the help of VISA to detect devices PXI of Pickering. The problem occurs with the next .NET NationalInstruments.VisaNS.ResourceManager.GetLocalManager () call. FindResources (filter). I use the filter "PXI? * INSTR.

To trouble shoot this problem I was using the VISA program FindResources.2008 c# example. I get the following error message when you apply the "PXI? * INSTR"filter. "Where not enough information or the device or resource is not present in the system. VISA-1073807343 (0xBFFF0011), ErrorResourceNotFound error code.

Looking at other markets, I infer that VISA is not find the maps. I came across the same error message when I tried to launch the "GPIB? * INSTR"filter however I determined that there was a problem with the NOR-488 driver. 2. after having repaired the driver of the FindResources.2008 program would find the GPIB instruments using the "GPIB? * INSTR"filter.

Max the Pickering cards appear in "Devices and Interfaces" and are listed as follows:
    12: PCI Device 'PXI12::9:INSTR '.
    15: PCI Device 'PXI13::13:INSTR '.

In XP, the cards have been identified as:
    PXI12::9:InStr (Pickering 40-785-522)
    PXI13::13:InStr (Pickering 40-780-522)

Also Max for each device, I am able to open the Panel to Test VISA.

Any ideas why the VISA is not able to detect these cards?

    Thank you

I thought about it. Apparently I needed Windows 7 to install the driver for cards of Pickering. I guess the "PXI VPP / VISA drivers" supplied by Pickering Test would take care of this.

Until Windows has installed the driver of Pickering cards have been listed as a PCI device under 'other devices '. After installation, the cards have been listed under "devices PXI of NI-VISA.

MAX the card now are listed as:

    12: Pickering 40-785-522 'PXI12::9:INSTR '.

  • Output digital NI 6224, acting abnormal when the PC off.

    Dear all,

I use NI 6224 to control cylinders, light turn and etc.

Just output port Act abnormal during PC power off, and it return to its original position, which he assumed to be when PC power on.

Is where all the parameters available in MAX be able to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

    Anson,

The PCI card is powered by the PC.  When the PC is turned off, the card has no power. Without power, it is in an undefined state.  Most likely, it presents an impedance moderately high what whether at its release.  If external devices by default entries = high when not actively pulled low (which is the case for the TTL), then the power off of the State of the 6224 may resemble high logic for external devices.

There is no way that the PCI-6224 (or any other logic device standard) can control his outputs when it has no power.

If these devices may still have power when the computer is turned off, then you need to add a couple of circuits integrated between exit security digital and external devices.  The details depend on what these devices require, how fast you need to disconnect and other factors.

  • Acquisition of CL crashes when the image is too light?

I have a strange problem and I can't be sure either the camera or the Board of Directors: basically, in any method of execution, when the image is too light, the acquisition stops and I get a timeout in MAX. It is with a PCIe-1433 and Point grey Gazelle. Blockage of the camera and restarting acquisition works very well. This occurs at any time, that the majority of the image gets to 80% brightness.

To make things more confusing, this can sometimes be corrected by the passage of cable (the same 5 meters OR cable model, but just another); now, however, I have a couple of cameras that show that all cable and so I need to get it figured out. It would certainly be a problem of camera or a combination and so I contact PMP as well. Anyone has any ideas on this? Thanks in advance for any info!

I would suspect that your CameraLink cables cannot meet performance requirements for speed of clock and the distance, that you are running. Unlike most new buses at high speed, the underlying mechanism of encoding on the wire for CameraLink has a characteristic resistance to noise (even among his own peers) depends somewhat on the actual data values are transmitted. Since the frame control signals are passed in the same channel as the content of the image itself, if there is some noise/interaction between them on the wire, they could cause problems of behavior on the side of the acquisition.

If your camera supports the lowering of the frequenency of the clock, you might be able to check that helps the behavior. If it does, I recommend trying to replace the cables with superior quality-those. The CameraLink Committee now has a test of official certification of cables which is very comprehensive. I would say in ensuring that the cables you are using are actually tested for these certification tests.

  • A 80 mm m2 PCIe drive will work in the ZBook 15 g2?

I am considering buying a g2 ZBook 15 opportunity which is * not * have the m.2 PCIe drive (drive Z Turbo) and I would add a.  Unfortunately the HP person I talked on the phone can't seem to find a way to sell me one.

    I found this thread:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/hardware-upgrades-replacements/zbook-17-G2-options-for-adding-a-new-Z-T...

where the author indicates the m2 PCIe drive iin 17 g2 s a unit of 60 mm (I guess 15 g2 uses the same).  Readers of PCIe m2 only I can find are 80 mm, so I wonder if those who will work.

So I'm looking for answers to two questions:

    1. a 80 mm m2 PCIe drive will work in the ZBook 15 g2?

    2. in the case, where can I buy a 60 mm m2 PCIe by car?

    Thanks in advance

OK - found the answers in this thread:

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/threads/zbook-G2-owners-alternatives-to-z-Turbo-drive.769103/

First of all, don't - 80 mm form factor will not work.  You must use the form factor of 60 mm.  They are not the same.

Second, according to this thread alone, 60 mm available PCIe drive is the SanDisk A110 but I can't find it anywhere.

Thirdly, at the time of this thread (January-February 2015) you cannot buy the HP HP's PCIe drive unless you get it with the laptop.

So, in the end, as early may 2015 you cannot move to a PCIe SSD with the ZBook g2 series.  You have to buy when you buy the laptop.

    Hi Phil,

1 have you made changes to your computer recently?

    2. you receive an error message when you try to connect to the Internet?

    3. what happens when you try to connect to the Internet by cable?

I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Start in safe mode with network.

To use a safe mode with network option, follow these steps:

    (a) restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

    (b) use the arrow keys to choose Safe mode with networking in the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.

Step 2: PEd a clean boot and then check to see if it helps.

  • 64-bit Windows 7 mouse freezes / stuttering several times per minute, when the network activity is high

    Hi all
I recently bought a new computer Packard Bell with a Windows 7 OEM who have a problem with the mouse and keyboard. I've been in contact with the manufacturer, but they are also confused that I have on this issue. After looking in many discussions about the problems of the mouse in windows 7, I found that there are many who have this problem but there is no consistency in the HW configuration, i.e. it seems more a problem with the OS.
I really like the machine and Windows 7, but I have a nagging issue with frequent 1-2 second freeze/stuttering of the mouse during the 'high' network activity (e.g. streaming a YouTube video). During my research, I met at least 4 people who who call network activity affect the behavior of the mouse.
Sometimes the keyboard or the mouse becomes completely insensitive and the system must be restarted. However, on these occasions, the rest of the system is not affected - for example Skype and other programs to continue to operate without glitch or lag.
To try to solve this problem, I did the following (with no effect on the problem):
-Updated all the drivers to the latest.
-J' tried different version of the mouse drivers (most recent running now).
-Tried different versions of the network driver (latest running now).
-Change keyboard and mouse to the PS2 came with the computer.
-Set the system to 'high performance '.
    -Changed for USB mouse
-J' tried various Bios settings 'mode of power/suspend' (proposed in solution in another thread)
One thing that has had a strange effect on the problem was:
-Seen the PS2 and USB mouse is touching one when the other freezes / stuttering will immediately resolve stuttering gel.
    I have studied/noted:
-There has never been a 'error box"popping up in Windows when this happens.
-In the event viewer I see warnings from "i8042prt" regarding (remember, thie is translated from Swedish :) 'The device sent an incorrect response, once the keyboard has been reset' (this is what I found, if you need more information please ask but provide what to look for and where)
My system has the following specifications:

    Hi Chris,

I might have a happy ending to this topic :)
I returned my old piece of system got another, it worked fine at first, but then the mouse began to stutter once again.

The system had only a few programs installed so I started to uninstall it to see if it changed anything.
    A program - Skype.

I never suspected that my friends use Windows 7 and Skype without any problem, although they could not use quadcore and 64-bit version.

My system is without stutters and glitches for a week, so I'm pretty sure that was the problem.
That Skype is a very wide spread of IM, it could apply to other institutions.

    Thanks for your help!

  • "This USB mass storage device can transfer information faster if you connect it to a USB 3.0 port Superspeed ' when the device is already connected to a USB 3.0 port.

I just bought and installed a USB 3.0 card. It is the Startech PEXUSB3S2 PCIe card. I installed the card in a PCIe 2.0 X 1 slot. The manual says it's exactly the slot, that it supports.

The Manager device displays NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller and NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Root Hub are installed and are working correctly. I have a Thermaltake BLACX5G 5 G USB 3.0 hard drive caddy. The transfer rate is only 35 MB/s using the HDTune benchmark. It is a USB 2.0 speed.

When the player is turned on, windows displays the message "this USB mass storage device can transfer information faster if you connect it to a Super speed USB 3.0 port»

For some reason, the system doesn't see the caddy to drive USB 3.0 as being plugged into a USB 3.0 port, when it actually is.

I remember having this same problem with Windows XP, when I bought a USB 2.0 card. The only thing that fixed it at the time was upgraded to XP SP2.

This should not be a problem because I know that Windows 7 pro 64-bit supports USB 3.0.

My motherboard is an ASUS P5QL-EM support an Intel Core 2 Quad and 4 GB of DDR2 memory. According to the manual owner the PCIe x 1 slots support architecture 1.0 and 2.0.

Edit: I just tested the external hard drive and expansion card USB 3.0 on my motherboard Gigabyte of friends running Windows XP. Everything worked perfectly, no problems at all.

Here, there is a problem with Windows 7 or the motherboard. Still unresolved, currently installs a floppy drive so I can update the firmware of my motherboard.

I checked the implementation of the card several times, removed and installed in another motherboard to test, then removed and reinstalled again in my motherboard ASUS check several times for a fit course.  It still does not work. I have just completed update the firmware of the motherboard with the latest version, and I also did a new install of Windows 7, install the drivers USB 3.0 immediately after installing Windows over. None of this solves the problem.

I'm running out of ideas on how to fix this without doing something drastic as a replacement for my motherboard. I don't want the speed of USB 3.0, but I don't think I'm ready for an another two or three hundred dollars to get it.

I've been all over the ' net trying to find a solution and read tons about USB USB 3.0 specifically and in general. I can find no reason why the drivers would install and report that they are working correctly, but fail to connect to 3.0 speeds. I think that this would generate a certain type of error instead of such a strange symptom.

    EDIT:

Here go us. I knew that is was a bad idea to buy one main (ASUS P5QL-EM) card that had to be overclocked to 1066 MHz for DRAM memory. I did all this work, and every time I reset my BIOS or updated it would always be the frequency DRAM back to where it should be (1066). After a reset of the computer was the starter and I just let it start instead of setting the DRAM frequency and, suddenly, USB 3.0 card worked perfectly. I confirmed this by setting the frequency to 1066 and looking at the USB 3.0 card fail again. I guess it must have something to do with the clock being sent to the PCIe bus.

In any case, the USB 3.0 card works perfectly and gives me a transfer rate HD Tune to 99 MB/s on a drive from WD SATA 7200 RPM and 86.1 Mbps on a Samsung drive hard 5400 RPM / MIN 3,5 "SATA. These are the same reference points I get when these drives are connected to my internal SATA connectors. I'd say USB 3.o works perfectly now and maxing out the hard drives performance.
