PCI-DIO-96 - OEM IBM

Dear support,

I got my hands on some PCI DIO 96 maps in scraps of IBM tape libraries.

These cards were inside a special device PC running OS/2.

The card IBM partnumber is: 19 p 5156 (OEM 068-02369-0000)

Is there anyway that I can run these cards under Windows?

I suspect there is another 'firmware' inside the map, because it does not load the driver correctly.

Said driver Windows Manager: could not start the device.

I use NEITHER-DAQmx 9.0.2.

Some PCI card info:

PCI\VEN_1307 & DEV_0054 & SUBSYS_00541307 & REV_02\4 & 258F4AE7 & 4040

Thanks in advance.

Hello h. Haken.

I did some searching on Google with the provider information you gave. There are a few other manufacturers who use the same name (PCI 96 DIO) for their cards. With the vendor information you gave, I came across the site of calculation of the measure .

In the end, we can conclude that this device is not working under the DAQmx driver. Please contact the manufacturer for the correct driver.

Best regards

  • What is the connector 100 OEM part number used on the PCI-DIO-96 map pins?

I have a PCI-DIO-96 card and I want to make my own custom cable to connect to the connector of the OID 100 i/o pins.  However, I can't find any reference to the reference OEM of the connector used on the PCI-DIO-96 Board so I can order his companion.

If anyone knows of any information about the connector part number 100 pins used on the PCI-DIO-96 Board, I would be very happy to know this information.

    Thank you.

Well, I found earlier the information I was looking for...  Page 1-3 of the PCI-DIO-96 manual (section "Custom wiring").  FYI, I have the March 2009 edition of the manual.  (it helps to actually read the manual, huh?)

In this section, two OEM mating connectors are suggested:

    Company AMP (P/N 749879-9)

    Honda Corporation (Ref. PCS-XE100LFD-HS)

I went to the website of the GPA.  There are actually two AMP parts active that do the trick... the P/N given in the PCI-DIO-96 manual map is the non-RoHS connector version.  The compliant version RoHS/ELV of this connector is AMP P / N 5-749879-9.  (Note than the previous one "5" in the part number)

For the purposes of referral, the connector is a series of 0.050 "SCSI cable insulation Dispalcement Connector [CID] (100 pins to 0.050" Ribbon).

In the United States, Heilind Electronics (http://estore.heilind.com) carries the AMP part.  Minimum purchase is six parts.  At the time of this announcement, they have a few hundred in stock.

If all goes well, that helps other readers.

  • PCI-DIO-32HS on Windows 7?

    Hello

Is it possible to use the PCI-DIO-32HS with Windows 7?  If so, can you direct me to the correct driver to install?

    Thank you.

    Hi aaron.cramer

There is a traditional DAQ driver for Windows 7. The driver does not work for 64-bit operating systems.

This link describes the limitations of the driver and download links: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/8EC9E81C3DE4E619862573930083BD7A

  • Integration of material NI_DAQ and NOR-DAQmx software on the same system PCI-DIO-96

    Hello

We have a great system that is developed in VB and uses the traditional inherited NOR-DAQ system. The system controls the controller PCI-DIO-96. We would like to upgrade to some parts of the system to NOR-DAQmx and use VB.Net and we know that you can install both systems together on the same computer.

    We have a few questions:

    (1) once the legacy of NOR-traditional DAQ OR DAQmx software can be integrated in the same system. Some parts of the system will always use the VB and the other parties will use VB.Net.

    (2) if the answer to the first question is Yes. Are there hardware or software limitations? Is there a recommended way to integration?

    (3) are there articles based on the knowledge about it?

    Thanks Jeremiah

There are a number of limitations to the use of NOR-DAQmx and NOR-DAQ traditional at the same time.  First of all, only one of the drivers can access the device at a time.  To switch between the drivers, I recommend that you read this knowledge base Article: that I can use OR-DAQ traditional (old) and NOR-DAQmx simultaneously?  You will need to use the equivalent functions of VB .NET to switch between the pilots.

In addition, the system should use Windows XP or an earlier version.

  • Maximum latency to read/write for PCI-DIO-32HS with NOR-DAQmx?

I was asked to evaluate using the PCI-DIO-32HS and NOR-DAQmx on MacOS X to essentially close a control loop.  My first concern is whether or not it can run fast enough.

So my questions are: what is the maximum latency from the moment of receiving a signal strobe reading data from external hardware, then read a single 16-bit sample and sending it upward by NOR-DAQ to a user space application?  And, similarly, what is the maximum latency of sending a unique 16-bit value from a space application user down through NOR-DAQ, then write a port and affirming a strobe signal of external-data writing material?

    Thank you.

    Hi AliasMe,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Forums EITHER!

Do you need to process the data in the software and generate a value on this basis?  DIO-32HS (alias PCI-6533) offers in the buffer of inputs and outputs, but you'd have a latency in your control system relying on the OS to do treatment.  Since this period is dependent on the system, I can't give a specification for the amount of time it would take.  However, integrating data in memory, processing and writing back to the card would likely be on the order of several milliseconds.

Generally, we recommend FPGA in situations of control like this, so you can do all the processing in hardware.  However, if provide you more details on your request we can look into all the options available.

  • PCI-DIO-32HS error FFFCB820 (-215008)

DAQmx beginning gives this unknown error. What can it mean?

I'm under task of digital acquisition with burst (output clock) with an external device, data transmission. Alone, it works fine.

Then I need to measure the time after the end of playback (PFI6 = Dig0/ReadyForTransfer falling edge) to digital edge to PCI-6602...

If I configure (road/DIO/Dig0/ReadyForTransfer to RTSI2, installation on PCI-6602 counter measures), while DIO task is running (starting, measure, stop) both run fine.

    But I need to sync.

If I first set up task HSDIO,

Then do road, set up and commit the task of counter configuration works very well.

But DIO-32HS beginning gives higher error.

Because of some course which is required for the DIO task, but is blocked by connection PCI6-RTSI2?

    Solved.

Another development name of the channel to PFI6 instead of Dig0/ReadyForTransfer

or a DIO task commit before routing and configuration of another task.

But still don't know what to say error.

  • 10401 DIO port PCI-DIO-32HS config error

  • Error 10461 / 10008 @ DIO Port Config (legacy, lvdaq.dll)

    Hello!

In my company, we have many tests in Paris, all controlled by an extraordinary Labview (compiled) program and the PCI-DIO-96 cards.

I changed and compiled the program several times in the past and did not have a unsolvable problem before.

But now the Port Config.vi DIO (lvdaq.dll) always shows me an error 10461 (recource not availabe) when I want to run it.

It is used to control the DIO-96 cards.

So I thought that it is a problem with my DAQ / DAQmx Config on my computer that had changed several times. But the strange thing is that the Version compiled on the Paris test shows the same error today and their configuration has changed.

I have checked and double-checked everything at least twice (numbers device ect.) but I don't know how to solve this problem!

My Cfg.: DAQmx 8.9, 7.4.4, Labview 8.6.1 DAQ & compiler

Thanks in advance for any help with this problem

There is a known compatibility issue between the traditional DAQ driver and DAQmx 8.8/8.9 with old devices DIO. The DAQmx 8.7.2 driver rather than the more recent installation should solve.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       http://Joule.NI.com/nidu/CDs/view/p/ID/1087/lang/de

  • Identify a DAQ card

I got a PCI card that has been placed in a box with a personalized label of the PCI-DIO-32HS. I took it for that. Tried to install it in windows using NiDAQ drivers but it is not detected. Windows detects it as a multimedia video controller and measure Automation recognizes an unidentified device in the device options and Interface. The card has a DB-15 connector and a BNC connector. On its rear that b REV 15381 P/N is printed on the circuit board. A bar code label on it says 15380 DT3155 V REV A. How can I identify this card?

Sorry for the inconvenience. It wasn't an acquisition of data. It was actually a monochrome image capture card. Thanks for the support.

  • Read/write port DAQmx questions

    Environment

    Windows XP SP3

    LabView 7.1

    NOR-DAQmx 8.7.1

    (2) PCI-DIO-96 cards

I'm trying to move from the level of registry TDAQ programming DAQmx and give me an "intensive" in mx.  I'm not sure about a few things.

I need to put in place 20 channels/tasks that will run a mix of single, large port (8-bit) bed and written.  Some will be handshaking (82 c 55 mode 1) and some no handshake (82 c 55 mode 0).

The plan is to create all tasks during an initialization routine and save the names of global tasks.  I open the task after creation and use the globals during the main part of the program execution, when I make the reads/writes on the port.  The body can run for hours at a time.  When the main is closed, the stop routiine close all tasks to exit ahead.

Regarding the task creation/destruction - is it safe to create tasks and leave them open, or should they be created and destroyed every time that a write is performed?

Regarding the port reads/writes, I suppose that when a port single read/write is made, there is no established buffer.  Is this correct?  Specifically, if I use the method above and leave task open, is it possible saturation of buffer or something similar to happen?

    TIA

    Charlie

Regret - Yes, you said 7.1 - I can't keep back away, but here is a screenshot

And - the task is saved outside of LabVIEW, so it's not really 'Open' or 'Closed', even when programmatically, create and destroy jobs.  Tasks exist or do not exist.  If they exist and have no errors, they can be run.

Tampons are to move data to and from the device.  For static DIO, this isn't a problem.  You CAN run into problems with a task of acquiring buttons if it acquires data as soon as you read the data, but you can work around this by starting and stopping the task properly.

  • Why not USB-6509 allow setting input and output on individual ports?

I have one of the new USB-6509 (96 digital i/o channels) commissions.  It has 12 ports for every 8 bits.  The manual says that you can define the inputs and outputs on a per port basis.  When I read an 8-bit port that I find it clears different ports that I put in place to be digital output.  They seem to be grouped into 3 groups of 4.  0-3, 4-7 and 8-11.  When I read from any single port within this group it erases the other ports in this group that I try to use as exits.  The result is that I can put only input and outputs in groups of 4 ports.  Unfortunately, we have built custom hardware based on the assumption that we could control the inputs and outputs on a basis of port by port.  I see this problem as well with my LabVIEW 7.1 program (see table), as well as the measurement and Automation Explorer.  Is anyone out there seen this problem with the USB-6509?  Anyone using it with success?  I also notice strange problems with power on, but I have yet to understand the model.  IM wondering if I have a defective material or maybe this new material still has problems.  I tried NIDAQ 8.7.1 and 8.8.  Same problem with both. Thank you.

Thanks for the replies.  It was determined that the USB-6509 we have has a hardware malfunction that is causing the ports to interfere between them.  We are return to OR for repair or replacement.  For now, we used a PCI-DIO-96, which works correctly. Thank you, Andy

  • P65570

I have an old card board. Brands only I see is "P65570". It's a card with a grid 50Pin connector used to connect a PCI-DIO-32HS card via a ribbon cable.

Does anyone know if this Board was never made by National Instruments?

I'm looking for a description/Schematic of what makes this forum. Any help would be appreciated!

    Kind regards

    AK

The "P65570" does not appear to match any of the products from National Instruments. You will find the part number of the Board of directors or its model number?

    Thank you

  • Read and write to a port

    Hello

I tried to read and write in a port using .net 3.5 example codes that are supplied with the controller. Examples\DotNet 3.5\Digital\Generate Values\Write Dig channel and channel digging reading. Regardless of the value that I write I always get a positive output reading and all the bits are high on the channel. To reporoduce the problem simply run two programs at the Dig sametime writing and reading Dig Channel channel. Set the port to Dev1/Port0 / line0:7 in the two tests and write a negative value for any or all channels. When you read the values, the values are all positive. I tried using the example of code in VB and I get the same results. Please note that the regulator is working properly when I run the test, measurement and automation. I looked at the Forums and I found the post to:

http://forums.NI.com/T5/Measurement-Studio-for-VC/basic-questions-about-PCI-DIO-96/m-p/242296 The name of the article is basic questions about PCI-DIO-96 and it says that the values written should persist. Any ideas on what I can do wrong?

    Thanks, Magued

This is a LabVIEW and an example VB that illustrate the use of tristate to switch between the input and the output. The output setting will allow you to drive the liine and re-read what you wrote. The read setting will allow you to read an external digital signal. Please excuse the fact that these are examples of rough and informal.

  • need serial number of windows 3.1 to install on the 6.2 BACK

Purchased Windows 3.1 (correspondence, turned out be an OEM IBM floppy game) a few months previously to install on a stand alone machine BACK and it didn't come with a serial number. I had lost my other serial numbers for my win 311 diskettes, so could not install, it's why I did it. I don't want this configuration on my Windows 7 computer.

It's been a few years since I've played a bit with Windows 3.1, but I remember well, there wasn't any place the installation type in a serial number or product key.  If you already tried to install it, I suggest all this and I think it will work.

As a side note, Win 3.1 was the standard version and has 6 disks while Win 3.11 is the version of working with networking groups and 8 floppy disk drive.

  • reset the error 50002-6533

    Hello

I use a card PCI-DIO-32HS (NI 6533). An error occurs while writing data to the card, after which I can't reset the map using the tools DAQmx or (reset devic) MAX (DAQmx). I always get "error-50002 occurred to resetting the device. A self-test on the device works. The only way to use the card is to restart the computer, which is quite irritating when you search the bug. Is there another way to reset the map without having to restart the computer.

    Add. Info:

Windows XP SP 3, LabView 8.0

    See you soon.

    Hi Bernard,.

I know that you can force windows to delete and detect a usb device, and I wonder if you can do the same with a PCI card.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/1D120A90884C25AF862573A700602459?OpenDocument

I wonder if this is useful. It certainly looks like the way you code. I heard sometimes use the reset device.vi twice in LabVIEW can help, but I've never tried it personally.

I hope that you manage to tackle the issue of coding you have!
