PCI-Express?

I looked on several review sites on my IBM Thinkcentre M52 9210 (the compact one, NOT the tour) and he says he has ONE PCI-EXPRESS X 16 expansion slot. I printed a picture of the PCI-E x 16 slot and compared it with that of my mahcine. It says it also has a PCI slot and I can see it, and below must be PCI - E, the black one.

But when I look closely it doesn't even look close to the image I had printed a. It is around 90 mm (more or less a few mm) and instead of having two separate ' gaps "(comme on pourrait identifier leur PCI-E x16), my had 5"deviations"in them.". " I plan to upgrade my computer and install a dedicated video card to replace my old Intel GMA 950 integrated chipset and I really need to know if it is PCI-E or another type of slot machine.

Thank you.

Take a look at this image:

http://i.Dell.com/images/global/learnmore/pcie_connector.jpg

You can tell from this image, the x 16 PCI-E has two what is called the 'gaps', a smaller on the right, a bigger to the left. What intrigues me is that the mine has five gaps, instead of two. I looked up my machine on the lenovo site, and it does not say it has a PCI-E slot, but just, he doesn't look like a PCI-E x 16. I really need someone to confirm this because if it is not PCI-E x 16 I have to get a PCI graphics card...

Poweraml,

According to our product specifications, the ThinkCentre M52 9210 machine type has 2 expansion on a PCI riser slots:

  • Slot 1 is a half-length, x 1 PCI Express slot intended to be used with our connection card PCI-E DVI - D (part number 73 P 2516). To do this, not supported x 16 PCI Express adapters.
  • Slot 2 is a half-length, version 2.2, the PCI slot.

These specifications are available at:

I hope this helps.

  • What type of video card? PCI, PCI Express or AGP?

I have a new hp a6647c and you want to use two monitors. I need a new monitor VGA video dualistic structure. A store asked me what type of Governing Council would hold in my computer, CPI, CPI Express or AGP.  So, how can I determine which Board is necessary for my hp 6647?

    Here are the specs:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01559155

You can not use an AGP card. There is no AGP slot. You have an open pci express x 16 video card slot and a pci slot. You may in fact theoretically have three monitors; two ducts by a dual PCI express head and a third led by a pci video card. If you plug a video card into one of the expansion slots, you will lose the onboard video capability.

Once that he managed to start completely, let him turn for a while I record information from the HARD drive. but then, the problem started again.

In my view, that it is a problem with the nvidia GPU (in cycle Fatigue on the BGA) card
I have the stripted computer laptop down... and bought ArctiClean thermal Pad, & Arctic Silver for "repair".

Should I have someone analyze the material and find the troublemaker?... OR... should I just of reflow of the GPU.

Can I just "bung it in the oven" and see how it goes? :) :) .

    Hello

I found and read your other post regarding this problem and in my opinion the PCI Express error is related to a PCI device (i.e miniPCI module as WLan / Bluetooth, etc.) connected to the motherboard.

Of course I can't say for certain that this question isn't related to a GPU malfunction.
Usually, these details can be provided only by a technician who checked the laptop's hardware.

Usually I put t recommend to disassemble the laptop. It s very difficult to perform this procedure and of course there is always a risk of damage part do such procedure without any instructions.

-SATA HARD DRIVE 1 TB (7200 RPM)

Question: What version of the PCI Express x 16 is the slot on this motherboard: 1.x, 2.0 or 2.1?

    Can't get this information anywhere.

    Hello:

I don't think that anyone will be able to give you a definitive answer.

This article gives the date for the PCIe ranges various x versions.

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

Since you have a relatively new PC, I would say that it is certainly not less than PCIe 2.0 and probably PCie 2.1.

I have a HP 8200 Elite CMT. I think that it is released at the beginning of this year, or very end of last year. 6570 PCIe 2.1, I use an AMD Radeon card in my PC.  It works very well.

    Hi Kendoggy,

I saw your post and I'll be happy to help you. I took a quick glance at the plug for the power supply and the video card. The video card is compatible with your computer (I've included a link to the plug to motherboard below), but the food is not compatible with the video card. The Radeon required a 75 w 6 pins which doesn't have the Antec. I've also included a link at the bottom of the configuration required to run Diablo 3.

  • Qosmio G40 - 10F won't boot up - PCI Express error

I recently installed a windows update and the laptop came in restart mode.
When the system boots it tries to start then I get a say black screen error PCI Express.

I tried a system restore, but the disc does not start, also tried to access the bios and it does not work.

Can I please ask for more help on this one because I don't have any problems at all, everything seems that a windows update has messed with my config in the bios.

    Help, please!

    Hello

I can't believe that Windows update would affect the BIOS.

In my opinion, this must be just bad luck.

PCI Express error means generally that a PCI device on the motherboard has started to malfunction.

This means that it could be a motherboard problem that could be solved by replacing the mobo

Sorry man, but I think that you don't have a lot of options here... seems that Toshiba ASP technician should take a look at this question :(

  • PCI Express Error - Qosmio G40 - 10Z

Yesterday I turned on my laptop and I got a black screen with the message "PCI Express Error"
I immediately started searching the Web that could be this error and I discovered that it is a known problem with some Toshiba laptops.

    http://www.nvidiadefect.com/Qosmio-PCI-Express-error-t383.html
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=49108
    http://www.nvidiadefect.com/Toshiba-Qosmio-G40-12C-t1149.html

Some of the many topics that I found about this error.

I bought my laptop model from January 2009 as a demo in a Dutch shop called Qplaza http://www.qplaza.nl/

Don't think I have any warranty next to security,) I received store (2 years), but there are a few things I don't understand.

As I understand it, it's that there is even a lawsuite on this problem and that it indeed was a problem with chips from nvidia 8600. But then why won't Toshiba or Nvidia fix laptops with these problems?

I read my laptop have to go to the special repair service to replace my motherboard and I have to pay for myself.
And that's IF they can fix my laptop.

I started searching the Internet which could be the cost of price, but the answers don't make me a very happy woman :-(

Is there another way to solve this problem?
And are there not places where you can buy a very appropriate motherboard for this laptop?

Can someone help me please? My laptop worked perfectly and without any warning... poof... can not run more.

    Hello

I can understand that you are not happy with the current situation. Nobody is happy if the computer starts to malfunction, but it of not always easy to tell which is the reason. For the exact diagnosis, you need professional tools and these tools available only to an authorized service provider.

I get bored in your ad information is information about the operating system. Are you using the version preinstalled Windows and you have already collected your notebook back to factory settings? If not, you should do this to make sure that it s no software or driver that is causing the problem.

If it still doesn't work you should get in touch with an authorized service provider and talk with the guys what they can do for you. I m, they can make you an offer for spare parts if you need them and a good price too of course. Just talk to the technicians is that as possible. ;)

  • QOSMIO G40-114 and "PCI Express error"

My G40-114 QOSMIOI worked perfectly until yesterday.

I now have a black screen with the message "PCI Express error" at startup. Screen is frozen, can't do anything.
What is the origin of this problem? (I searched the Web and looks like it has something to do with the motherboard...).

Is that what I can do by myself?

You can start your Qosmio laptop in SafeMode (F8 at startup)?

  • Bought a refurbished Z800: can I install a PCI - Express 3.0 card game?

    Hello

    I have a Question. I bought a refurbished Z800.

Can I install a new PCI-Express 3.0 graphic card Gaming in my Z800?

Thank you very much for your answers.

    Gunnar

Gunnar, use a PCI-Express 3.0 graphics card (Gen 3) will work in a Z800.  The Z800 x 16 slots running at speed of Gen 2 only, so the graphics card running at speed Gen 2 and not the highest speed of Gen 3.  Each PCIe Gen 3 graphic card I've ever seen happen to Gen 2 or Gen 1 speeds if they are installed in these slow speed slots.  First check the specifications of the desired graphic card, it must be said it will run to Gen 2 also.

From a practical point of view, a x 16 PCIe Gen 2 interface provides a bandwidth transfer very high anyway, so should not be very noticeable difference between a Gen 2 and Gen 3 interface.  The biggest difference will be the capabilities of the graphics processor, which is a good reason to get a PCIe 3.0 card since they have new GPU.
