PCMCIA card will not install on Satellite L30 - 10y

Hi all

I hope someone can help with this problem. I recently bought a PCMCIA card with additional USB ports for my laptop Satellite L30 - 10y. It works on Vista basic, anyway I shoved the card into the slot and let windows install the drivers, problem is it will not load I get an error message saying that the MDT-0002 device does not charge.

Is it a Vista problem or Toshiba thing?
Thanks for any help on this one
Regards Ciaran

Hello

I doubt that it could be a matter of Toshiba.
I googled a bit for this device MDT-0002 error, and this error using some PCMCIA cards on different laptops from different manufacturers under Vista OS.
Someone said that the Pcmcia.sys (PCMCIA driver) must be updated.

I also recommend to contact manufacturer of PCMCIA card support for more details on a few issues with the Vista operating system.

Welcome them

    Hello

    What graphics driver you used?
One from the ATI Web site or the graphics driver for the Toshiba page?

You must use the graphics driver on the page because Toshiba that these drivers are designed and specially modified for Toshiba laptops!

I tried to use the graphics drivers for example, nVidia page, and I was not able to install it automatically.
I find on this forum that the graphics drivers from Toshiba are slightly changed to prevent overheating of the graphics card.

Due to a high performance graphic map of the temperature increases and can damage some parts inside the laptop.
The graphics driver prevents the increase in temperature and slows down the performance of the graphics card. If temperature decreases the performance increases.

  • Satellite 2410-413: USB2 PCMCIA card does not work

Hello. This is my first time on a forum, and my English is bad.
I tried to install a card PCMCIA 4 port USB 2 (hw & sw) on my Satellite 2410 413 in order to use a dongle of DTV (hw & sw).

This will not work: ports seem to be declared straight into the computer, but in fact, a simple key memory 64 MB USB-2 [a Sony "micro-vault" key), won't work, and neither will the Winfast DTV dongle.]

Paradoxically, both the key mem will work on any of the three USB-1 ports, and the DV dongle will light on any port USB-1. The PCMCIA 4 port USB 2 card is new. I can't locate the source of the problem.

Could someone help me with this issue?
Thank you in advance for your answer. Here it is (maybe?)
Another way of formulating the question: how USB ports are managed by the system?

    Hello Rasta

Sorry, but I think that this issue should be the right one for producer PCMCIA. Try to visit the support page. You might find answers.
Believe me on this path it is not easy to say why this happens. Toshiba is perhaps responsible for the functionality of PCMCIA card, but not used the card.

    Good luck!

  • Installing WXP on Satellite L30 - 10Y

    Hi all

I have a Satellite L30 - 10Y (PSL33E 03L031EN) (about 2 years), it is running Vista (installed come) and I'll replace it with XP pro SP3.
I already have the drivers (from the Division of driver Toshiba), but I wonder if there are any issues that anyone knows how I could run in this case?

I installed OS to my house several times, built offices with absolutely no problems whatsoever, but various articles I read there seems to be a bit of a 'ball game' different when it comes to laptops?
Also I have Vista disks more so if XP will not install I can not simply go back to Vista.

Tips, advice or warnings very welcome...

    Thanx

    Hello

Your laptop is supported for Windows XP Home edition, and there should not be any problems at all. For installing WXP using Windows XP SP2 home edition.
Download page for all the drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba.

You can also find document Setup Instructions. Install all the stuff of Toshiba following this order of installations. It is very important.

  • HP Pavilion 550-055na: new disk will not install the new operating system

    Hello

I bought a new HP Pavilion 550 - 055na with Windows 8 a month or two ago but want to use Windows 7. However, I decided that I will keep the hard, the PC came with, and have the option of Windows 8 in future if I want. So, I'm installing Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

My problem is that the new copy of Windows 7 will not install on my new hard drive.  I get:

    Violation of secure boot

Invalid signature detected. See the policy in the configuration of secure boot

Then me to a black screen after I pressed Enter/Ok, who said the following.

Check the presence of the media...

    Media present...

    On IPv4 PXE boot.

If I press F12 on power on, I get a blue box asking me to select a boot device. The only options are:

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv4

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv6

and the output by using the arrow keys

How to change the secure boot strategy?  If I do, it means that I can install my 7 can I on my new hard drive? Also, providing that I do, I always will be able to use my Windows 8 OS drive after changing the secure boot strategy?

Any help would be appreciated to greately.

    Sincere greetings

    DJ

    Hello:

You have to enable the legacy mode and disable start-up secured in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7.

Please see this link to find out where these settings... this references adding a video card, but this is how you change the settings no matter why you need to change.

    Hello

Check the compatibility of your products from Cyberlink here.

The HP position maintenance for Cyberlink is only an update.

If you have installed under W7 from Cyberlink, then try the "check compatibility" button to see if improvements are required.  So just try to install Cyberlink under W8 then click on the products tab Compatibile.
