PDFs from a third-party program causes Windows permissions errors

I work for a company that has created a software that runs on all versions of Windows and you can create this software PDF reports. I ran into a few people who have our software on a Vista computer and when they run a report creates the file in a location of export and opens on the screen. If it closes the PDF file and run it again, they get an error: could not open file C:\folder\Doc.pdf. Pretty standard error and our usual response to that is, "your windows user doesn't have permissions to overwrite files in this folder." Once they change their permissions, they do not get the error.

I ran into 3 or 4 of our thousands of customers who are running Vista and get this same error, even if their windows user has full control of that export file and they can manually replace the files in the folder itself. I had to create a simple text doc and crush him, and it replaces without problem.

Anyone know if there is something that it is Vista that would prevent a 3rd party application to overwrite a file? A PDF file in this case. I've never ran into questions similar to this on XP or 7.

    Hello

You cannot perform an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 installation. You will need to perform a custom installation or clean installation. You need to install all software from third-party manufacturers after completing one of these facilities.

The default resolution and "recommended" for my two monitors lenovo is 1920 x 1080. I have a new system and I tried for a few weeks now to something to work with screen resolution and third-party apps. I am under W7 Pro right now, but will soon be getting to 10.

The high resolution is not a problem in 7 with any Microsoft stuff. With the help of a custom of the DPI setting takes care of all the native stuff. Some third-party applications can be set as well. For example, Corel Photo Paint X 7 has bars of detachable command with command icons that can be set to small, medium or large. When the size of the icon is changed, the size of the font adjusts accordingly and it is perfectly feasible, acknowledging the icons or by reading the text. It is perfect for this dual screen system and works like a charm.

However, most of other software companies are not quite as respectful of their clients. Bryce, formerly owned by Corel, but now DAZ despicable, is not removable toolbars and there is no options available to adjust the sizes of icons in order. Even if preferences to provide an engaging, multiple monitor option not to release the toolbars or increase the font size. It only opens the Bryce "Labs" in the second monitor in a position at the end of the dialog box, half of the Cup.

It also applies even in a top of the range of applications such as VIEW and Smith Micro, Poser Pro. They present menus and toolbar icons that are so tiny, it is necessary to use the Magnifier Microsoft to make and which isn't real solution when your work with graphics programs. It's incredibly awkward.

My old system, running XP Pro, SP3, which I always put in place and operational, has a screen resolution of 1280 X 768, and it displays all the software of third party very well. If I try to use this resolution with W7 and these monitors high resolution, I get a crushed image down and half on the screen which is useless. I can read everything very well, but all images are short and fat! If it was possible to type values for the height and width, using an infinite scale rather than the fixed scale that is provided by the slider over, nicked in W7, it would be possible to find a combination that worked. Then, once the wreck was set for third party stuff, the custom DPI settings Windows could take care of the native stuff.

I had an Oracle VirtualBox running for awhile and loaded the third of things out there and it worked for awhile but it did not offer the ability double screen and, in any case, after awhile it started to get really uptight and I finally just had to get rid of.

Really, I would be much happier if I could just load XP Pro on this machine and do run as quickly as things that made to run on it. The only reason why I got a new system was the need for more speed and muscle. But if I can't use my favorite, applications worth it?

Is there no workaround solution that will make it possible to adjust the resolution so that the third-party applications are fully functional using all the space on the screen?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and respond.

Since no one answered I'll provide the solution myself. Doing right thing 'upgrade' to Windows 10 has this problem of resolution.

Other than that, getting W10 to work even at halfway was a nightmare.

  • How to divide the C: drive into two partitions without a third-party program?

    Hello

Is there a way to divide the C: drive into two partitions C: and D: on Windows XP without a third pary program?

If anyone has an idea, please give some steps.

    Thank you.

    Assem

    Hey Assem,

Once you have created a primary partition, it is not possible (for Windows XP) to divide the partition without using third-party software. You can see:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309000 to create a new partition.

    I hope this helps...

  • Methods to secure PDF files against third party releasers

I have not tested their claims, but www.pdfunlock.com and www.guapdf.com both claim to be able to bypass any security Acrobat encryption up to 256-bit version 11. And I guess that any new version to come out.

(Acrobat can completely stop the ability to edit a PDF file, or do I have something like a) LockLizard, or b) a converter to my PDF file in a series of images, if I want to secure my data?

That's why Adobe gives a warning light when you set security this third-party tools it can not comply.

The problem is that the security of password is part of the published ISO standard which anyone can follow, and some programmers choose to ignore safety rules.

You might consider certificate-based security. This works if you did an exchange of certificates secured with the recipient. Only the recipient has the key to decrypt.

  • Purchased video files can be downloaded from the third-party server

I want to build an aerial video image bank. The files will be 4 k files pulled a multicopter. I have 500 video files. Each file can be 5-6G in size. I can't store these files in British Colombia because the limit is only 250 MB per file. Therefore, I need to store them on a third party server. When a visitor to the site buys a video file with the shopping cart on the spot (via PayPal), I want to know if my Muse built site can join the video file on the third parter server and call to put at the disposal of the customer to download the purchase email confirmation.

I used these guys for years:

    Sell downloads | PayLoadz

It costs a little a month but if you want something, turnkey for the size of the file that you are talking about. The downside is that the payment is not integrated with BC or CRM etc., it should be on the payloadz site (unless you start getting fancy with the two APIs, but that's another debate).

  • How do you install the third-party icons in Windows 7

I want to make my computer looks like, it belongs to me. I'm an artist and I want that all the aspects of this computer to reflect this. I downloaded some icons of the internet to be used as spare parts for folders and icons for the office, but the system won't let me use it. The message I get when I try to use them to replace the other icons, it's that they are not icon files. When I change the .ico extension it still won't let me use it. It is even possible to use these icons to replace the annoying in Windows 7? If so, how can I do it? Where should I save these icons and how? Anyone know? I'm sick of watching all these annoying icons in this computer.

Do need to be installed somewhere in the system, so I can use them? -No, they have just needs to be somewhere on the system, not installed.

I don't think that these files are icons.  If they were you wouldn't have to change their extension to .ico.

There is normally a lot of icon managers & icon editors available in freeware version so pick up one of them & use to convert your images [as I guess they are] in icons.

  • How to use references from web third party service with service Cloud Computing to Oracle database schema

    APEX 5.0

Cloud Computing service for the Oracle database schema

I'm in the middle of do a proof of concept.  Basically, I need an application with security of the stored data, UI, user, data loading, and able to post data via an external web service said.  It seems that with the database schema Oracle cloud service, it is not possible to use web service references that are not in the field.

If I try to use a service via http reference, I get:

ORA-20987: APEX - the requested URL was forbidden. Contact your administrator. -Contact your administrator of the application.

If I try to use the same reference service via https, I get:

    ORA-29273: HTTP request failed

    ORA-06512: at & quot; SYS. UTL_HTTP & quot; line 1130

    ORA-29259: end-of-input reached

I read somewhere that cloud services only https can be used.  Is this true?

And then I read somewhere to use the protocol https, the portfolio must be configured to store certificates, etc.  However, I read somewhere else that the portfolio cannot be configured because there is no access to the instance database with the Oracle Cloud Computing database schema service.  Is this true?

If both are true, how can I make a call to post data to an external web service?  Or do I need to use a different Cloud Computing service?  Or do I need my own instance of Oracle DB?

Any help would be great.  Thank you!

It turns out there was a problem with the remote rest service.  After successfully calling a rest service that was created using SQL Workshop, I tried different remote rest services and they all work.  Sorry for the confusion.  I thought it was very strange that the schema of database service wouldn't be able to do it easily.
