PE 7 - export file size is very large

Hello

I am to convert VHS tapes to digital format and wanted to use first Elements 7 to change my home movies. I use my VCR to write of VHS on DVD, and then copy the files from the DVD to my computer. A two hour movie equals 9 files of 250 MB, but after that I put in a unique scenario and export them to Microsoft DV AVI, the file is 27 GB. I know that video files are not small, but I don't understand what is happening to convert 2.25 gb entry into a file over ten times. The original DVD files are very well from a quality point of view (in other words, they are at least as good as the original VHS quality), but I would like to do some editting and then polishing on them before putting them on a DVD in the format "final". Advice on how to achieve this more effectively would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Dan

"I don't think that the 27 GB file would be same not hold on the new blu - ray format, not to mention the standard DVD that would play in my player of DVD family."...

Export/burning 27 Gb DV - AVI will be transcoded to a VOB MPEG2 4.7 GB file that fits on the DVD. Please note however burn 2 hours on a DVD in a lower bitrate, DVD quality compared to burn an hour on a DVD... that is what you can fit on a DVD with a bitrate of PE7 higher 8 Mb/s. The bitrate will be automatically reduced to fit the video on the DVD. Burn a copy and see what it looks like--even at the lower rate as ok, it should look like your source files are VHS.

  • Create new report if the file size is too large

The sequences I run in TestStand have the ability to generate large reports and I am looking for a way to start a new sequence of intermediate report if the file size exceeds certain limits, either start a new report every night at midnight.

I am currently using TestStand 2014 and reports ATML 5.00.

Here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was hoping I'd be able to use some substitutions to get there, but it sounds a bit more complex than that. [...]

There is no specific substitutions that solve this problem 'in configuration and only few implementation".

The point is that you should follow the following steps:

    1. check the size of the file after writing a new segment of report data.

    2. If size > configured the file size, create a new file. Write a footer in the previous file, duplicate the header for the new file information and store the handle to file for all the previous files.

    3. once the test is complete, update the header in all files (remember: the header contains the overall result of the ESA.) This is known only when the test is finished!) and finalize all the report files.

In the plugins default report, none of the above functions is applied.

You want may also focus on 'File offline results' as a reporting mechanism. It might be easier to change things using this approach, unless you go the recommended manner: database.

  • is it possible to change the display in the files of all very large icons at a time, rather than change them individually?

I want every file access for the very large icons view. I don't want to change all my folders one at a time. I also want to keep these settings because they sometimes return to a smaller view. There are a few directories that I want to display the contents of a list.  I don't want to change any folders to assign all other folders. All advice appreciated. I don't see this option in the Control Panel/Options of folders.

  • The Lightroom export file size: why it's so small? How can I maximize the picture quality?

My image file size is much smaller after editing and export through Lightroom. It is impossible to maintain the size of the original file in order to preserve image quality? This small file size will have a negative impact on the prints? Any help is appreciated!

The file size is not an indicator of picture quality! You are looking at the wrong measure.

File size is determined by the number of pixels you have, the quality slider in the dialog box export and of a dozen other things, most of which you cannot control.

Want to watch the number of pixels (width and height) and not the size of the file.

It is impossible to maintain the size of the original file in order to preserve image quality?

Not only is impossible, that it is also meaningless (see above)

This small file size will have a negative impact on the prints?

Instead look at the size of the file, you must look at the number of pixels of the exported photo (width and height), and this will determine if you get a decent impression. The usual standard is that you need 300 pixels per inch.

  • Why is 'Export file size small' big?

Hi, I work in CS3.  100 brochures, I have two brochures that do not export to a small PDF file. The settings for the export are all the same.  What else should I look for?  The sizes are usually 1 MG.  These 2 specific brochures are 5-6 MG.  I can try to fix this problem?

    Thank you

If these are "records" you obviously shouldn't be in public view.

If you want me to watch confidentially on behalf of Adobe, I'll be happy to talk if you their email to me. (I can take up to about 30 to 40 MB of attachments per e-mail). You'll find my e-mail by clicking on my picture or simply hovering over him.

  • Export file size

I'm starting with a jpg of 7meg, adjustments and harvest slightly and my export is only 700kb. The quality is 100 and 34, 00 PPP.  I do not print a lot and it is a 16 x 20.  It will be OK?

I then tried an another export to 16 x 20 and 240 pixels per inch.  That did not, LR has just set the mode of export for a long time.  I have cancelled finallt export.  I'm guessing that's not possible if LR did not know what to do.

Of course, Lightroom can do this export. I don't know why it took so long (about how long it took before you canceled?)

Now, will the 3312 x 4140 work or should I fine tune export some more (207.5 pixels per inch).

    Did not this already?

There is no practical difference between 207 ppi and 207.5 ppi, nobody would ever know the difference.

  • Was one of my PSD file placed in Indesign export to format PDF is small but the other is very large. WHY?

    Dear all,

I am facing an unknown problem when I export the PDF file from indesign. I check around all the Images, I found that when some of the PSD files has been placed in indesign and exported to PDF format, the file size is very large. Please see the joint (large_size).  But some are normal, please see the joint (small_size). And you can see that the PSD file is no difference in Photoshop. And PDF output setting is the same, please see the other clip.

What is the problem of the PSD file? Why the result is a huge different?

    large_size.png

    small_size.png

    Export PDF setting.png

Really? If I open "S6_edge_gold 2.psd" and in the layers palette, right-click "Layer 1", "Duplicate layer", select New destination and save the new DSP, the DSP news is only 5.8 MB. Placed in an InDesign document and PDF export is no longer made a bloated file.

  • How to stop ghost backups in Windows Vista? The file is very large and cannot be defragmented.

    Hello.

My friend has a computer with Windows Vista. Apparently, there's something that automatically done 'Phantom' backups out to "system restore." Which is an application of Windows Vista, or can only be linked to the software when Norton Internet Security has been uninstalled.

This file is a very large file and cannot be defragmented. So, right now the computer shows it's 54% fragmented. Part of the name of the file is "Volume Information."... »

Please, let me know how I may be able to stop these unnecessary backups. Onbly regular system restore is necessary.

  • Large file size HAVE

I have a file I which is very large. There is no linked file and everything is art online. If I don't copy this file into another file it does automatically the new large file as well. When I copy the work to the new file, many unused shades also appear in the new file. Even after the deletion of all unused nuances, the file is still very large. Any suggestions on how to know where all the nuances are in origin and which is to make the file so big?

Something went wrong very higglety-pigglety in this file. The layers panel shows only the a compound path. The appearance panel shows only a black fill and no respect. There are no links. This file does not have to be that big.

Since this is such a simple graphic, I saved until a file Illustartor 3, closed, then reopened. That's what I got when I save that Illustrator CS5.

  • File size change artboard size

I create my work in a large work plan for for editing and then save and export to JPEG. Then I opened a new work plan for the size, I need to import and resize the image to fit the work plan to be submitted to a specific size, but the file is never the right size? Heeeeeeelp?

    Prototype66 wrote:

so you say if I create a 300 X 300 pxl work plan when I save it as a jpeg, it remains the same size when I download on a web page?

so why is he not do?

    ...

Illustrator cannot "save under" the jpg file format. Apparently, you're talking about file > export. When you export to jpg, Illustrator is not aware of work plans. The dimensions in pixels of the recorded image is defined by two things. Firstly by the bounding box of the work - which is the rectangular area in which all visible objects fit and second the resolution selected in the Options of JPG that appear when exporting to jpg. If you leave this resolution as screen or 72 dpi Illustrator will save the work with the dimensions in pixels of the bounding box of the work. To find these dimensions in pixels, Ctrl + A to select all visible objects, right-click on the rule and choose pixel, choose the tool Selection (V), then check the dimensions of the pixel at the end of the properties of the selection tool at the top of your screen. To set the pixel dimensions different and bigger, create a rectangle without background color and contour that is larger than the area bounding of the work.

Alternatively you can skip all the hassles that above and use the file > save for Web & devices. It includes work plans and has a "Clip for artboard" option located in the tab size of the Image (checked by default). Save for Web is what you see is what you get. And you can also change the size of pixels there.

Edit: didn't see Jacob beets me to that - are what that happenes when I am interrupted in the middle of sending a message

Edit 2: one reason to use export to jpg format instead of save for Web's performance with very large files. With very large files and more weak graphics, the preview card save for Web may crash Illustrator.

  • Exporting files for mastering HD, what could be better?

    Hello

What is the best HD file to my master to export format? (band unfounded)

    I have made a project of P 15 minutes 1920 1080 25 in AE photography timelapse.

I can make files MPEG2 HD pretty to look at, but I don't see a good format to control the end of the project in.

I don't really want to do uncompressed because it will be a 200Gbyte file and will take hours on any system just to copy online.

H264. When I export to mp4 or quicktime H264, I get banding serious unwatchable in the blue of the sky. It is much less visible on the mpeg2 and not visible at all in uncompressed. I have attatched an example of this. The entire video looks great except during this section, so I can't use H264.

I'll eventually want to send the file to a production company to make HDCAM SR tapes, but I have to pay by the hour 200 GB removal arnt an option.

Why oh why doesn't anyone do a decent HD post production format. My mind bouncing! Just give us the ability to record on the HDcam sound files which is easy!

    Thank you

    remainz

Well, Avid DNxHD is visually "Lossless", that is to say, it isn't really, mathematically lossless.

The quality is similar to Quicktime PhotoJPEG 100%, but the file sizes are very small (but, truth be told, when you set JPEG for 90 something per cent, it uses 4:2:2 sampling instead of 4:4:4 and data rate period down accordingly).

Yet once, Quicktime PhotoJPEG does not require to download a third-party codec at all.

    Thus, the choices are compromised.

  • Exported images are of large file size, but the small screen

    LR Example.JPGLR Example 2.JPG

Something has changed in my export settings, and I can't understand it.  If I insert a file into any application (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Publisher) that I exported to LR5.7 before last week, the end images (image of female left) look if I export a new image, the file size is large (10 MB), but when I insert into any application, the image itself is extremely low (male right image). I know that's not the image itself, because I've tried it with images that have worked in the past which has worked and now have the same issue. If I try with resize in the image program itself just gets very distorted and pixelated. Any thoughts on what is wrong or what I screwed. I've also included a picture of my LR export window

Maybe Word etc read the 5000 pixels per inch setting in the exported file and timing of small file in the application.  Change to 200 or something and see what happens.  This has not test so it is maybe not the right direction to solve the problem.

  • Problem trying to export in larger file size.

I need to print a banner of a 20' x 8' for a show. Logo and text are export ready, but any size, I put the export size to, I seem to be limited to 2400 dpi and an image that is about 1.5 "tall. Now, I know that this translates into approximately a 24 "image at 150 dpi (or something like that happens to be). 100-150 ppi is fine, it's just a banner, but I have even greater need.

    What gives?

I'm a bit new to Illustrator, use only a few times a year max.

Thanks in advance for your help.

your print in the OP size is 1.5 "in height as you say. It's very small. not sure if your limit is the 2400 ppi or overall pixel size. all of the questions.

anyway. PSD is too limited to a certain pixel size. an image can be so great, then you must use a different format. I know not the point break, which could be a problem too.

Anyway, if simply trying to get into photoshop, a simple copy and paste will work. configure your file size you need in photoshop, then copy and paste your layout of the Illustrator. No exporter is necessary.

  • The size of the exported file is larger than the original

    Hello

I have a new camcorder (Legria HF 56) and when I want to export a scene of the iss to largest file size that it's original.

An example: the scene (video-AVCHD. MTS) is: 03:30 min, 1440 x 1080, Framerate 25 frames per seconds, 174 MB

the file exported (.) M2T - H264 1440x1080i 25) is 651 MB bis. Is it possible and how can I fix this problem?

    Best regards

    Richard

It is not uncommon, since it is unlikely that you are using the same characteristics for your output file as your input file.

It is virtually impossible to get an output that is the same size as your entry.

What will you do with your output file? It is best to think in terms of your output - Blu - Ray, DVD, online, iPad, whatever - and then produce a file optimized for this device.
