Performance issues. VERY slow.

My problem is: yesterday I was about to reinstall my operating system on my laptop (it was time to do a new installation), up to this point, everything was beautiful and smooth.

I turned on my desktop PC, and connected Skype (I logged on 2 places at once, which has not caused ANY problem so far). A few minutes (about 10) after that, I realized that my Skype on both computers are veeeery slow, way too slow. Not too much to pay attention to it I started to reinstall my laptop and installed a copy of windows 8.1 fresh and bright. Everything was good until I logged into Skype and it was worse than a slideshow. If I wanted to change people who I talk to, it took about 25 seconds. Resizing the window of Skype (on the sight of the ofc office) was impossible (total freeze, program that does not, break of 2 minutes of the computer). After that, I reinstalled to windows 7, thinking perhaps that I messed up something, and the good ol version ' will solve everything. And here's the thing: I have windows 7, and Skype is the same. Late, no answer, gel, etc... I can't yet make a simple call.
What I realized: on both windows 7 and 8.1 (the new facility), whenever I connect, it keeps throwing me messages about 1-3 then 7 or even several days when friends sent me files via Skype.
I tried to:-clean reinstall Skype (both version of the OS)

-Delete the folder Skype of Roaming (the two OS v.)

-Ask for ideas of others (the two OS v.)

-Read the other topics here about it and tried what they wrote (older Skype, etc... the two OS v.)

-Pray the gods somewhere help me (the two OS v.).

And so far nothing has worked. So I would ask you if you have any ideas on what could be done to solve this problem. =) It bothers me a lot because I use Skype a lot on a daily basis.

Additional information:

Computer laptop cfg: i7 2630, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, 750 GB HDD, Windows 7 OS, up to date drivers (!)

Skype uses about 15-30% of my CPU, which is a little weird I think to an i7 (he's not done this before), the 400 MB of Ram is correct I think =)

PS. : When I reinstall Skype, for a few seconds (about 4) it works somewhat OK, then everything goes wrong again.

It is a well known due to this new service of synchronization problem.

Try to uninstall the currently installed version and install the 6.9.0.106 version using this msi installer:

After installing this version, be sure to turn off the automatic updates:

Tools-> Options-> Advanced-> automatic updates-> turn off automatic updates

I think that the network latency is your problem here. The two recommendations that I have are:

(1) use the web interface in the UI Foglight. This should perform better especially if you use a local FglAM to the collector and middleware.

(2) use a terminal server server or virtual office in Boston to install thick client PA. This will give you the best user interface response times.

I run esxtop and see what the CPU and go from there.

Firefox 10 - installed and the performance is very slow, unresponsive while trying to load websites.

Just noticed the other day on my server and it could have been thought Nvidia driver. Update that and same result with Firefox very slow in delay/performance while making the web pages? Downgraded to Firefox 9.0 and problem solved. Return to previous performance levels.

Just received and installed the update for Firefox worm 10.02 and voila... all the symptoms of the problems I had been able to correct themselves? Always curious what the issue was with my install in Server 2008? Have the latest Firefox installed in Fedora 16-64 bit and works without a problem. I have dual boot this machine between the two O/S once again, thanks to all who offered suggestions or advice about my problems.

Number of points:

1. you say "spyware or malicious software", but please note that spyware is a kind of malware (malicious software).

2. If you have an anti-virus program, it checks for viruses and perhaps some Trojan horses, worms, etc. To do this, * no * check for all types of malware and normally you does not protect against spyware.

3. you must have and regularly run * time * an anti-virus program and an anti-spyware program.

4. not all antivirus programs are just as good, and some (including the two most popular, Norton and McAfee) is very poor.

5. even if you had the best anti-virus program, it would be perfect, and you could still be infected by a virus.

6. There are several reasons why your performance is mediocre, but the more likely nowadays is that you are infected with malware - probably a virus, trojan or spyware. I can't be sure that this is your problem, but that's my guess.

Please tell us what anti-virus program you run. Keep you posted?

For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you're ready
to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one (do not run more than one) of the following three:

Avira AntiVir
Avast
Microsoft Security Essentials

You also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download and
install MalwareBytes AntiMalware (freeware).

Intel 3945ABG performance is very slow

My Toshiba A100 has a wifi Intel 3945ABG in there. I've got current Intel 10.1.1.3 drivers wifi for this installed also. However, maximum flow, I think get using this wifi interface is a little more than 2 Mbps. My router is a Netgear DG834G. My other PC also have wifi cards and their flow is about 5 times more when they transfer files between them via the router. Similarly, if I use the internet, the flow never increases in the past a little more 2Mpbs then my other PC often get 4-6 Mbps on my MAX DSL line. So, something is keeping the performance of the wifi device. The RWIN value is the same as on my other machines, and no matter if I use XP or Intel ProSet to manage the wifi connection. Regardless if the laptop is powered by the battery or power supply too.

All the world did this experiment and it is resolved, or do I just stay put and wait for a newer driver Intel will be released that would solve the problem.

Try to upgrade to the latest Intel Wireless LAN driver. In case this does not solve the problem, please also switch off the power of the savings card and set the low roaming aggressiveness.
Intel offers their generic drivers in packs, containing the version v10.xx for the 3945 card drivers and client wireless LAN Intel ProSet (as an alternative to the Automatic Configuration of the window client) with the individual version numbers. Try to install the driver and Intel ProSet.

My Inspiron Dell1501 is running slower and slower with symptoms as follows (as well as Missig on the charater occaional... that this example)... Running Windows Home edition 5.1.2600 SP3 build2600...

C:/windows has many $NtUninstallKB files * $... I can't help thinking that they should not be there... what they are... they are updated to SP and could not clear?

Your original title is uninstall service pack 3. Did you install service pack 3 before the show?

If the problem persists, restore the computer to an earlier time and check if the problem persists.

Performance of keystroke (slow typing) on Mac OS Mavericks

After installing Mac OS Mavericks, typing in Dreamweaver CC 13.1 performance is very slow, almost at the point of use.
I am aware of this discussion, however that discussions began before Mavericks is out, and there had been no acknowledgement on a part of Adobe what can be a problem more recent links only to the Mavericks. To further support this, I have no problems with the performance of keyboard input during a Mountain Lion.
So I'm hoping with this thread, I can get a confirmation that Adobe is to see the problem from the Mavericks and considering a fix in the next update - that I hope will come very, very soon, because as I said it's almost unusable now, and I saw in the other thread people are even cancel their subscriptions over this.

HP Elitebook 8570p - Windows XP USB very slow and the transfer rate performance issues.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else knows some performance issues with the HP Elitebook 8570p and Windows XP Pro - SP3.

I get a VERY slow start, general poor performance (waiting time when opening files and programs).

I asked to burn in tests that show that everything is good.

USB transfer rates are VERY slow (tried all ports of a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive, which works fine on other laptops etc.) for example a 30-minute transfer a 7gig single file of the USB HD on the desktop. Only 3 minutes to do the same on another laptop.

I think there are problems with the drivers, like Windows 7 works very well and does boot from a bootable USB.

USB transfer rate are also good when starting from a Windows boot environment.

I installed HP SoftPaq Download Manager, and all the drivers are up to date.

I think outside of the box here... Select the Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller instead.

Qosmio G30-126 (PQG32E) - very slow performance of HARD drive

I have improved my Qosmio G30 126 at 4 GB of Ram, SSD 64 HDD as windows7 boot partition and 500 GB 7200 64cache HARD drive as drive HARD secondary but I have a very slow HARD drive performance when working in windows7, but when I work on a virtual machine Windows XP, the disk HARD perforemance is fine.

I've upgraded all drivers from toshiba.com for windows7 ultimate 32-bit drivers including drivers from the chipset intel but my problem is not solved. I also check all other performance issues and its OK.

The same problem exsists on my old HARD drive on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.

I used HD tune software to check my HARD drive it accelerates gives about 100bps in windows 7 for my SSD and it gives 285mbps (this is the actual read speed) in the machine virtual Windows XP and the actual speed is significantly different.

Please tell me what to do because I suffer from my laptop very slow and spend a lot of mony on it without more.

To be honest it is really hard to tell why you have slow HARD drive performance but especially it s associated with a large number of programs they are running in the background. How many processes are started after Windows starts?

Also, the antivirus program may affect the performance of the computer. I would recommend using the AntiVir freeware tool and the Windows Firewall. That's enough if keep you Windows up-to-date and use a new Internet browser.

Also check the other discussions of the forum on the slow performance. You can find a lot of useful tips to improve performance. For example:
-Defragment HARD drive
-Disable the startup programs you don't need
-Uninstall unnecessary programs
-Run the CCleaner tool to remove old registry keys

Photoshop very slow keyboard performance move + boost

I have a small (24 MB) file, which has many layers. All of a sudden, to move a single item (vector shape layer line, for example) takes 3-4 seconds to around 10px from the time of the press on keyboard. It's very laggy and agonizingly slow. New PS documents seem to be good. My history and cache is attached to the large and thin.

This will be exactly like a very old problem Photoshop had return to the CS6. My latest version of PS 2014 seemed fine.

I have an end of 2013 retina MacBook Pro, 16 GB ram, SSD drive with 80% free space.

Any ideas?

I think only now would be that you have a LOT of layer comps in the document.

But I think I've also fixed a few layer of movement performance issues in Photoshop CC and CC 2014.

Wow, proof that Yosemite - can - run on only 2 GB of memory. I had not thought that it was possible in the real world.

If you are serious about not not upgrade the RAM I would recommend uninstalling/disabling the Flash Player and possibly disable Java Script as well. WEBCONTENT is currently the #1 drain resource on your mac, in order to prevent intensive pieces more than memory of the internet of the race should improve performance throughout the system. Usually I also recommend also downgrade to a less intensive old OS version resources such as the Mavericks or Mountain Lion, but given that you must have been to Yosemite for months I guess it works for you.
