Performance of the game on Satellite Pro P100-439
Hallo,
After paying a lot of money for this laptop, it's actually only worse typing Word-texts. There is almost no games that could be played on this laptop, nore wether Fifa 07, Fifa 08, wether Call of Duty 2 nore Red Orchestra (this list is in fact muuuuch longer), most of the time its simly to slow down. graphikcard 512 MB is not a lot if you cann't play anything. I have not now what to do... hope someone can help me, cause, I'm with my nerves on the end.

One question;
Are you using Vista on this laptop?
Well, if you bought this phone especially for a game I recommend the installation of Windows XP with the latest graphics drivers and then to try to play all the games.
As you probably known t the Vista operating system needs a lot more material resources like old operating systems from Ms. This could have a bad influence on the performance of the game.
Also I recommend you to check this page.

On this page you will find an interesting discussion about the game on Vista OS
_By the way; _
Microsoft has released a published and patch which solves the problems with the use of virtual address space. This is a reason why some games is crushed or didn't run smoothly on Vista OS

Replacing the battery on Satellite Pro P100
Hi can anyone recommend a reputable provider in Britain of the batteries for Satellite Pro P100, is a PA3480U-1BRS 6000mAh. ?
People like DABS.com tried but they are always out of stock.
As usual, there are plenty of weird sites found on Google but I have never heard of them and they offer for most non-Toshiba clones which I do not know if they are all good or even compatible.
Ideally, I'll try to find a genuine Toshiba battery if I can
Do Toshiba to provide directly?
Thanks to all those who can help youGraham
AFAIK, you can't order directly in battery Toshiba but each service provider authorized in the United Kingdom can get the original for you battery.
I recommend checking the Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP.You can find the list of all FSA in the United Kingdom. Connect with some of them and look for information on replacing the battery, costs and delivery times.
Bye and good luck!

Hello
There is no function that could restore the cooling modules.
I guess that your laptop was put in standby or in hibernation mode and somehow, she woke from sleep or hibernation modeYou stop simply laptop (windows start-> closed) and then should power the unit.
Just FYI; You can change some settings of cooling modules in the Vista power management.
To do this, see this FAQ:

Broke the screen on Satellite Pro P100 - 1 1/2 "vertical white line
Hello
I have a Satellite Pro P100 which is only 21 months old and have recently acquired a white strip to the bottom of my screen which is located near Center. I looked into the possible solutions for this and followed the instructions carefully to see if it was a software problem which he seems not to be. The only possible solution seems to be to get the screen replaced. I would like to know if there are many of you who have had this same problem because I'm disgusted that I need to get this replaced so early in his life.I don't even use my phone as a laptop (IE it transport etc.) it is simply sitting on my desk at home. I just checked my warranty and apparently it was submitted only for 12 months! Just my luck!
If anyone has any suggestions on how to best to argue my case with Toshiba in get this replaced for free then the answers are welcome.
See you soon,.
Corrina> Only possible solution seems to be to get the screen replaced
Either it's a display or the fault of the graphics card!
You can try to connect the external monitor to test if the same would appear on the second monitor.
If the question seems not on the external monitor then it s not a graphics card issue but possible display of the laptop problem.
In this case, the authorized service provider should be able to provide more details and how to fix it.Good luck

Satellite Pro P100-439: sound and modem driver for Windows XP?
Hello
I need for my his laptop and drivers for the Modem.
Thanks for the help
Edit: I come from Germany, sorry for my bad English. :)
I presume you bought Satellite P100 and no Satellite Pro P100. Am I wrong?
In any case, if your P100 laptop is Vista preinstalled laptop, you may have problem because right now all new laptops Vista are not taken WXP supported. Of course, it will take a little time to have drivers of Windows XP Home edition.

A few questions regarding the hardware upgrade and the games on Satellite Pro 2100
Hey,.
I thought that posting this here because it's more about the lines for the games I could think on another topic.
I'll get to the point... Basically, I bought a laptop from a guy that my friend knew. He barely used this laptop and didn't know anything about computers, and he tried to avoid as much as possible. So he got rid of this laptop for me for real cheap.
Now I got it, I had expected either of two things with the laptop.
(1) what I'll use it so I can sit in his bed and travel a little bit while having files, movies, music and internet access. (it wasn't my main idea)
Or
(2) it allows to play video games on it, or to update, so I have a better chance to do so.
I was hoping to get for video games, mainly for my brother to use because his computer is lagging a lot while playing world of Warcraft. I was hoping that this notebook would give him a better experience for a while.
But as I was installing the game on this, I noticed that the disk space is low, so I'm going to buy an external hard drive, so I can send files between the PC and the laptop, and I got an error message saying that the RAM was under "minimum requirements" for WoW.
So I know that I got to level it with something big, but I know not what, so I'm not quite sure that this laptop will run the game at a decent rate. So I thought that I turn to a computer forum and ask.
It's my laptop;
[Satellite Pro 2100 PS210E | http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=UK&BV_UseBVCook = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 45659 ie]This laptop will do the job don't you think?
Or it will be better for simpler things, or less if I had the ram to 1gig?I don't know much on the laptop, and I'm not really willing to spend too much on fixing, if it's just a change of the ram, then it wouldn't cost much for than to upgrade around 1gig.
Hello
First of all, I must say that this notebook belongs to an older series laptop.
It was equipped with the 1.8 Celeron CPU, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB or 30 GB HARD drive and a 16MB graphics card internal. What you can do is upgrade the RAM up to 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) and the HARD drive. But I think that the maximum size of HARD drive that would be recognized by the BIOS is 120 GB.
I think that the laptop supports one IDE controller and it limited because of the 28-bit LBA HARD drive size.So finally, it is important to mention that you can not pass the graphics card because it s soldered onto the motherboard. Upgrading the CPU is not possible or very difficult.
I come to the conclusion that you will not be able to play games of new generation on this machine. The hardware specs are maybe too low a few simple games would run on this laptop but I'm sure that other newer games will not run smoothly.
Welcome them

Hello
You can try to change the game settings: for example the value down the graphic details.
You can also try to increase the memory of the computer s.But beware: the game performance is dependent on s laptop equipment.
Even if you are able to run the game, this does not mean that you will get the best game performance that you know -
Satellite Pro P100-438 game stuttering
Hello world
I bought a Satellite Pro P100-438 (PSPAHE - 001001GR) with 2 GB of RAM in May 2007. I really took my time choosing the right laptop and the card game and the comments that I thought that it would be exactly what I wanted. As he had a numeric keypad, which is a must for me. I knew all the articles indicating that Vista would be detrimental to the performance, but I was willing to wait six months for driver issues and others to be decided. And a weaker performance in regards to a lower rate would not have been a problem.
Here again the stats of the platform:
Core 2 Duo T5500 2 x 1.66 GHz - 2 GB RAM - 160 GB HD - DVD +/-RW DL - NVidia GeForce Go 7900 512 MB - USB 802.11abg 2.0/FireWire/Modem/LAN/WLAN / Bluetooth - DVI - 5 in 1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS Pro/xD) - 17 "WXGA + (1440 x 900) TFT - Windows Vista Edition Family Premium Li-Ion-battery - 3,20 kg
Now the problem is that all the 3D games (such as BioShock or the by now old Deus Ex - Invisible war) stutter. The performance seems to be all right, rates are usually fantastic even with the highest settings, but there are approximately every 3 seconds a stutter. Reduction of the graphics settings is not to solve the problem.
There seems to be a lot of people with similar problems with this all-3-second-stuttering around. Usually, I'm really good at 'fix' these problems with my computers. It usually includes surfing the forums, try many drivers video, drivers modded, installation of patches or just waiting for a solution from the manufacturer. ;)
Nothing has solved the problem so far. Here is what I tried:
-Different drivers: those most recent Tosiba March (which is pathetic!) to the most recent available at www.laptopvideo2go.com
-Different audio drivers for the Conexant Audio device high definition. They screw out of speakers and output, so I had to go back to drivers of Toshiba.
-Vista updates: all the patches that are recommended in various forums and any other vista automatically updated
-DirectX 9 .0c updates. Some said this could help because my card does not support DX10 and therefore should use DX9. Makes sense to me. DX10 seems to graphics engine so advanced being of the same Vista does not use it. Well, it was without success.
-BIOS update. I got stuttering with the preinstalled BIOS and now I use the newest one which is 4.00 for my laptop. Did not help.
-Disabling Vista Aero. Do not remove the stuttering, but gave a better framerate. But 100 fps or 105 fps was not the issue. Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.
Now I can't think of another solution, and honestly I think that it is not my task to arrive at a solution. I spent about 1400 Euro on the laptop and I would like to have is a decent customer service and the problem resolved. And if Toshiba is not able to solve it they should at least be able to point the finger the cause of the problem. Right?
But now I still have some hope left. Maybe someone reading this found the solution to my problem and can give me a hint, because I'm always willing to try some suggestions. :)
Can anyone help?
I think the problem is that the NVidia GeForce Go 7900 does not support the new DirectX10 but only the DirectX9.
The Vista operating system supports the new feature of DirectX10 and there might be a problem with the connection between Vista and Nvidia!I noticed that this problem occurs only play games designed for Direct10X.
Like all the people here in the forum says, this strange game stuttering does not appear with XP installed.
> Some people say installation XP would solve the problem, but it is not a viable option for me since I don't own a Windows XP license.
I really put t see any other possibility to get rid of this problem install XP! As already mentioned it's nothing wrong with the laptop but with the Vista OS.By the way; Have you tried to use the latest graphic on sites like; drivers

Can I increase the memory on my old Satellite Pro P100?
I have a Satellite Pro P100 (P6PA4E-002001EN) with only 512 MB of memory and the desire to know if it can be increased and if so what memory should I buy and it is easy to open the machine and adapt?
Hello
You can increase the memory on this laptop amazing plu of 4 GB of RAM.
RAM modules compatible that you can use to upgrade:
PA3511U - 1 M 51 (Kit of memory 512 MB DDR2-667)
PA3512U-1M1G (memory 1 GB DDR2-667 Kit)
PA3513U-1M2G (memory 2 GB DDR2-667 Kit)Check the underside of your laptop and there should be probably set with a cover of Ram screw. Remove it and you will have access to the memory locations.

Satellite Pro P100: losing picture on external monitor when using the DVI - D connection
Guys,
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 940MW LCD TV and a Satellite Pro P100 (Geforce Go 7600), recently I bought a DVI - D cable to link them together.
Now the problem is that when I connected to 1400 x 900 LCD TV screen goes to a black screen several times (usually when there is a lot of activity or I'm resizing windows to the maximum to the minimum).
Now, I would have thought it would be the LCD TV doesn't do not signal or refresh rate however I connected using a VGA cable and its fine - no problem just no matter how much I minimize my windows or put a lot of activity on the screen. To complicate matters even more, when I run the screens in "Dual screen" mode instead of "Clone" if I put one of them 1400 x 900 to 59hz in 16 bit it works fine...?
Can someone help please that it made my head that I can't understand what the hell is the cause!
I've included a list below all the different resolutions / screen modes I tried it and the result.
Thanks for your time & help.
Concerning
Craig.

I hope that you have enabled user s manual supplied with your device. On page 148, you will find a very interesting picture on the supported display resolution.
I have to be honest with you and say that I am no expert DVI because my LCD doesn't have this port, just HDMI but if I have understood you as soon as you have problem with a resolution of 1440 x 900 only. This resolution is not listed as supported, and I presume that it is not unusual to have a problem.
Sorry, but I think that you should use maximum supported only resolution 1280 x 1024.

Hi, just about to buy a Satellite Pro P100, but when we look at the warranty I don't see this pattern on the list machines covered by the extended warranty available at Toshiba.

It makes me a little nervous if Toshiba does not cover this model for extended warranty.

Satellite Pro P100: Brands on the palmrest
Hello
I've had my Satellite Pro P100 for barely 6 months now... I bought it again and its has a less than one average amount of usage. Its always been neat, always clean, always take off my watch so it's not scratching the surface, etc. etc. But now I've noticed marks indicating where to rest my palms.
I expect this from a mobile phone 2nd hand that gets very intense use, but I do not expect this news!
http://www.Nottingham.AC.UK./~cczcp1/pics/palm-rest.jpg
Someone else had a the same problem and what is the chance of getting sorted by Toshiba?
Cheers for any help.Hello
These similar marks appear on my laptop 4 years old. That s nothing unusual.
It appears after several times because the hands are still on this sector for laptop.
What to say that are simply signs of use
