Performance of Vista, using Firefox

I'm trying to receive the available Windows updates. My system is configured to automatically receive, but when I click on Control Panel to view the history of updates, it had not all attempts to update. I hit 'install updates' and I get two error messages (646 and 646).  I use Firefox.  My system also loses the internet connection at least 2 or 3 min., returns but I sometimes have to reboot to get a good signal.

I have Firefox version 25.0.1 and my OS is Vista Premium. My first use of Firefox works normally and correctly. Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  • How to import bookmarks from the laptop to the desktop using Firefox 38.0 on both devices?

I am currently using Firefox on my desktop or portable 38.0 and need to import my favorites of the laptop on my desk which also has Firefox 38.0. Please provide details on how to perform this procedure.

    Thank you

Pretty simple and easy, not only are there alternative methods, as is often the case in computing, but different methods produce different results.
Aid articles have more complete explanations with step by step instructions and screenshots.

You have the choice of four methods depending on what you're trying to reach. Ask you what set of bookmarks is the largest and most complex?

Import and export of the a.)
This adds bookmarks. It spikes on the existing ones. (For example, if the laptop: unsorted, folder of bookmarks and bookmarks are now additional folders in the existing desktop bookmarks menu.)
Useful to simply do what you asked: export the Favorites of the laptop and import those on the desktop.
However, if the office is new and has only a few bookmarks on it, but the laptop has the major then consider

    1. Export of the desktop as a HTML file.
    2. Backup of the laptop to create a .json file
    3. Restore the .json laptop on the desktop file.
    4. Follow-up to import HTML file
    • Office has now all the bookmarks of the laptop, as well as his own originals

    See

    (B) backup and restore
This procedure by report written all existing bookmarks. He retained the structure of folders and bookmark labels. Ideal if bookmarks of laptop are the only ones that you care. Or combine the two methods, as suggested above.

(C.) manually replace the bookmarks and the historical database.
Not what you asked but that also gets the history information.
This is useful if you often rely on the addessbar acting as the awesomebar

    (D.) sync
An alternative is to use Firefox Sync. Who should ensure that the laptop and the Office have the same bookmarks.
However if you do this save your bookmarks manually before the first sync bookmarks. I highly recommend that if synchronize you bookmarks you make regular manual backups too, because Sync itself can sometimes corrupt and duplicates of bookmarks. (If you do not notice this corruption quickly you can't have automated bookmarks that are free of corruption.)

  • Cannot connect to my bank accounts using firefox

Since last week, I am not able to connect to my accounts at Bank of America and T Rowe Price using Firefox. Both show the same problem: I get my ID, he asks me my password, I get my password and it goes back to the first screen and ask my login again id. It does not error report. He continues to go into this loop.

I have no problem if I use IE or Chrome. I use Windows Vista.

I deleted all cookies, and that did not solve the problem. After that, I uninstalled firefox from my computer and downloaded the latest version and installed again. Yet, I can not connect to my bank accounts. I don't have a problem connecting to other rear accounts; just those two. A week earlier, I have no problem with Firefox. What can be the problem and how to fix it?

Hi mkapoor, the main change in Mode safe which seems relevant would disable ALL your extensions. Given that extensions can be updated in the background, it could be that one of them had a minor change of the feature, or perhaps you have installed a new.

Could you try disabling your essential or unrecognized extensions on the addons page? I hope that the problem is one of those and not something very useful for you. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

Also, try to bypass the cache

Reload the Web page while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the reload with a left click button.

    OR

    • Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + SHIFT + R (Windows and Linux)
    • Press command + SHIFT + R (Mac)

If it does not help disable HWA used in firefox.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

I was using Firefox 5 for a few months now, but since last week, the Firefox addons site recognizes as Firefox 5. Such behavior can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked by Firefox or an extension or blocked by security software (firewall).

Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

    • 'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems: Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

If clearing cookies doesn't help, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the profile folder in the cookies.sqlite case has been corrupted.

Are you sure that CoolPreview is not listed under Tools/Add-ons/Extensions?

So far, everyone who has had this problem been CoolPreview, including me!

I am also running Windows Vista and have FireFox 3.6.8.

If you are certain that you do not have CoolPreview suggests trying one or both of the following:

    (1) download and install the current CoolPreview of www.coolpreviews.com. That's what fixed it for me! Even if you do not have coolpreview, it can replace a stray code located on your computer.

    (2) or... Uninstall FireFox completely, restart your computer, and then download and reinstall FireFox.

One last thought, you are the ONLY user on this machine? Do you have other users sign-ons? If so, someone else may have downloaded and that's where the bad code.
