Performance Z580 problem

Lenovo Z580 3 days, I bought a, clean (without installed Win7), after the first start-up, I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, to my surprise, it took nearly 2 hours. After a few resets I got to the Windows desktop, put Lenovo's CD inside and started to install drivers. Everything went smoothly, but I noticed one thing, performance of the laptop were really low, I mean, he was reacting slowly to the movement of the mouse, switch between windows, etc. I thought that this is because I had to restart the system, so I did. It did not help. So I launched Windows Update, hoping it would help. After getting every single update, I reboot, as requested, but nothing has changed because of the performance. At the present time, I noticed the new show, when I listen to the music and start to do something else, like launch Google Chrome, the music starts to crack. It is the same with movies, so I think it's a kind of sound. I tried to play games, launched Skyrim to possible lowest graphics settings, he did me like 20 FPS. I have no idea what could be the cause, or what to do to fix. Is there someone who faced similar problems and can help me?

  • Performance Y560 problem

    Hi all!

I did deal with such a problem - when power adapter connected 3dMark 11 combined score 1231, when I test without ac adapter combined score is 532. It is very strange that Y560 is so dependent on electricity. Please help solve this problem.

Actually by default in windows 7, al devices are configured to operate on maximum health of the battery on the maximum performance when it's plugged in and the battery. You need to change this setting. Click the batteryicon in system tray icon. I have little thing will pop up. Click more power options. Now a new window will open which shows two levels of electrical energy. It is written change plan settings on the side each plan. Once again the new windows will be open. Now you should see the advanced power options. Open it and a relatively small new windows will be open again. Now change the graphics settings ati on battery power for maximum performance. I think this should do.

  • Performance Aero problem

I feel that I've searched high and low, and I can't find a solution to this problem I'm having.
Here are the specs of my machine:
    OS: Vista Ultimate 64
    RAM: 9 GB
Processor: Intel Xeon Quad Core 2.93 GHz
Video: 2 nvidia quadro fx 580's (4 monitors)

Basically, Wheneve my PC is under heavier than normal CPU load or graphic support, I get a message bubble in the taskbar that says:
"The color scheme has been changed to Windows Vista Basic - the color scheme current has exceeded its allowed memory, so the color scheme has been changed automatically to improve performance." Click for more information".

When I click on the message, it disappears. CPU usage was never more 50% and the memory has never been more 60%. Can someone tell me why this happens and is it possible to allow more memory aero combat this problem? Thanks in advance for any response.

    Hello agkeyser,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

This problem appears if a program that you are running is not compatible with the view that Aero model indicated in the section below I have pasted the link which is also included below.

Why are some Visual elements will automatically turn off?

A program that you are using is not compatible with the Windows Aero color scheme. When you run a program that is not compatible with the Windows Aero color scheme, some Visual elements are automatically disabled. When the program is not is more running, the Visual elements that have been disabled will be activated automatically.

While some third-party programs may be compatible with Windows Vista, these programs cannot take advantage of all the features that are included with Windows Vista.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Performance graphics problem because the time change?

    Hello

It seems that there is a problem with the graphic display of Performance on my system (vsphere 4.1 esx 4.0 servers) from 31. October 2010. I suspect it has something to do with the time change that occurred last Sunday night in my area of time (time Switzerland).

    (1) in time real Perfomance data are displayed on the VM and ESX Server objects.

    (2) any other array performance (daily, weekly, annually) fails to display

If 3) use graph custom, I can go back until 1 November (until today), but not yet back. This is why I think it has to do with the time change of last Sunday.

When I look at stats.log, there are error messages as in the txt File attached.

Any ideas? It is not tragic if the old performance data are lost... were put in place with a new DB in September... but I would like to see in the future the performance stats...

Here a KB for this issue: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1030305

To work around the problem of time atothr, you can try to use "Advanced" on the performance tab reports.

When a program starts, it works very well, but their startup is very slow and causes other programs not responding.

Between switching programs is slow and causes others to not answer.

I get a lot of program does not not errors.

I did some major changes lately.

Everything worked fine until the closing.

    running vistax64 ultimate, sp2,.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hello

This was immediately after installation of SP2 or later on?

So immediately, it's probably a conflict with SP2 and a resident as software antivirus/antimalware program. Usually, this requires a patch from the vendor of the program. Disabling any resident program is the only real way to isolate the problem.

If "later on", then you may have a hardware problem, which means a component fails. First thing I would do is run a disk check. Run chkdsk c: /r from a command prompt and reboot when prompted.

It runs slowly if started in safe mode?

I don't think that the textfilter slows your app, I think that you run on the user interface thread things that belong here.
Move to a thread blocking operations separate, you can use a callback model, for example.

  • OBIEE 11 g - Performance Essbase problem

    Hi all

I have a request to OBIEE with hardcoded filter (for example year '2012' =), the query sent to Essbase contains this filter.
But if I use the Session Variable in the filter (for example year = NQ_SESSION. VALUEOF (CURRENT_YEAR)), the query does not contain this filter send to Essbase.
Thus, the query in Essbase take a lot of time, and then OBIEE takes time to filter the data to the server in OBIEE.

My question: how to replace OBIEE Session Variable before sending questionable to Essbase?

    Thank you
    Youssef

    Hi John,

Maybe you could create a dashboard with your filter and with a default NQ_SESSION value. VALUEOF (CURRENT_YEAR)).
After in your report, add you a filter "invited" in your field.
If you wish, you can hide the dashboard prompt to not show.
It is not the best solution, but it could be a workaround in your case - I didn't test it.

    It will be useful,

    Benoit

  • Spark TextArea, performance setFormatOfRange problem

    Hi you

I'm building the syntax highlight editor using spark.components.textarea

my application calls setFormatOfRange to put the color on the syntax. but I find that this API is very very slow.

I need wait more than 10 seconds before the UI response me

And if I comment on the setFormatOfRange, it works fine without delay

Seems that the TLF is very slow at this point, is it not?

Should I change back to use mx.controls.TextArea?  is it faster?

    Thank you

Richard is the quickest way you can get to form a large number of words in a TextArea. Unfortunately, this solution may not be appropriate in some cases. Say you're listening to TextOperationEvent.CHANGE on a text box for changes to the wording and based on them to highlight certain words (similar to a code editor). If you apply the format using interactionManager, you get another TextOperationEvent.CHANGE and this can lead to an infinite loop.

What I did to find out how setFormatOfRange works and imitate the code inside this method, using the ApplyFormatOperation and the CompositeOperation. Of course, normally you'll cope with such operations because that is the purpose of EditManager, but sometimes you need just a quick and the working solution.

You can check this post for more details on how to use operations to format text inside a RichEditableText.

  • Performance of Modbus using DSC static Variables

I'm fairly new to using Modbus with LabVIEW.  On some dozens tools and APIs that can be used for a project, I train, I decided to try using an alias of shared Variables in Modbus registers in the project, which is a tool of DSC.  It seemed like a smart to go way.  I used Variables shared in the past, however, and I am aware of some of the questions that surround them, especially when the number of them begins to increase.  I will have only about 120 variables, so I don't think that's not too bad, but I'm getting a little worried...

The way I started to do this was to create a new shared variable for each data point.  What I have noticed since then is that there is a mechanism to process multiple records at once using a table of values.  (Unfortunately, even if I wanted to use the table method, I probably couldn't.)  Modbus points that I am interfacing are for a custom device and the programmer does not disturb the consecutive use records...)  But anyway, I was wondering what might be performance issues that surround this API.

    I guess:
    (1) all caveates of shared variables apply.  These are really shared variables, but only DSC taught the engine of the SV to go read.  Is this fair?

    And I wonder:

    (2) there is no improvement in performance for reading a table of variables consecutive rather than reading each variable individually?

    (3) there performance above problems what shared variables have normally when you use Modbus specifically?  (E.g. how many times can you read a few hundred points of the device even Modbus?)

    Thank you

    DaveT

    Hi Dave,.

    Thanks for your good questions!

    (1) you are right that the caveates of shared variables apply. Generally, the major issues (conditions of race etc.) are not met because these variables are generally used as I/O.

    (2) with a large number of shared variables that are located on separate machines, it is best to use a table. However, with 120 variables read consecutively will not affect your overall performance, especially if you don't need to read everything at the same time.

    (3) overall, there is no any concerns of performance outside normal common variable concerns. Modbus and DSC are designed to be efficient and do a good job to maximize performance for you.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

  • W510 display problem

Hi guys, I just bought a W510 and found a display problem when using the battery.

The display will sometimes dim when using battery power following in the Manager of power Plans:

    • Video playback
    • Maximum battery life

  • Poor ESXi 4 NFS Datastore Performance with various NAS systems

    Hello!

In testing, I found that I get between a half and a quarter of the e/s inside a guest performance when ESXi 4 systems connect to the using NFS data store if the clients connect to the exact same NFS share.  However, I don't see this effect if the data store using iSCSI or local storage.  This has been reproduced with different systems running ESXi 4 and NAS systems.

My test is very simple.  I created naked CentOS 5.4 minimum installation (completely updated 07/04/2010) with VMware Tools loaded and the creation time of a file of 256 MB using jj.  I create the file on the root (a VMDK stored in different data warehouses) partition or a directory of the NAS mounted via NFS, directly in the comments

My crucial test configuration consists of a single test PC (Intel 3.0 GHz Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU with a single Intel 82567LM-3 Gigabit NC and 4 GB RAM) running ESXi 4 connected to a printer HP Procurve 1810 - 24 G, which is connected to a VIA EPIA M700 NAS system running OpenFiler 2.3 with two 1.5 to 7200 tr / MIN SATA disks configured in front of software RAID 1 and dual Gigabit Ethernet NIC.  However, I have reproduced it with different ESXi PC and NAS systems.

This is a release of one of the tests.  In this case, the VMDK is a store of data stored on the NAS via NFS:

The first dd is a VMDK stored in a connected via NFS data store.  The dd ends almost immediately, but the synchronization takes nearly 40 seconds!  It's less than 7 MB per second transfer rate: very slow.  Then I get the exact same NFS share that ESXi is used to store data directly in the comments and repeat the DD.  As you can see, the SD is longer and the synchronization takes no real time (as befits a NFS share with active sync), and the whole process takes less than 10 seconds: this is four times faster!

I don't see these results on data warehouses mounted via NFS.  For example, here is a test on the guest even running from a mounted via iSCSI data store (using the exact same SIN):

As you can see, the performance of NFS direct comments for each of the three are very consistent.  ISCSI and the performance of the store local data disk are both a bit better than that - as I expect.  But the mounted via NFS data store gets only a fraction of the perfomance of the any of them.  Obviously, something is wrong.

I was able to reproduce this effect with an Iomega Ix4 - 200 d as well.  The difference is not as dramatic, butalways important and consistent.  Here is a test of a guest of CentOS using a VMDK stored in a data store provided by an Ix4 - 200 d via NFS:-.

Once more, the direct NFS mount gives very consistent results.  But using the diskette provided by ESXi on a mounted NFS datastore gives still worse results.  They are not as terrible as OpenFiler test results, but they are constantly between 60% and 100% longer.

Why is this?  What I've read, NFS performace is supposed to be within a few percent of the iSCSI performance, and yet I see between 60% and 400% worse performance.  And this isn't a case of the SIN is not able to provide correct NFS performance.  When I connect to the NAS via NFS directly inside the guest, I see much better than when ESXi connects to the same NAS (the same proportion!) via NFS.

The configuration of ESXi (network and network cards) is 100% stock.  There is no VLAN in place, etc., and ESXi system has only one

Single Gigabit adapter.  It is certainly not optimal, but it doesn't seem to me to be able to explain why a virtualized guest is able to get a lot better performance NFS as ESXi itself to the same NAS.  After all, they both use the same exact suboptimal network configuration...

Thank you very much for your help.  I would be grateful any idea or advice, you might be able to give me.

    Hi all

It is very definitely a performance O_Sync problem. It is well known that NFS VMware shops still use O_Sync for writes little matter what share put for a default value. VMware uses a custom file locking system so you really can't compare it to a normal NFS share connection to a different NFS client.

I have validated that the performance will be good if you have an SSD cache or storage target with enough reliable battery backup.

  • Performance issues HTML Article in the Adobe Viewer on iPad

I created an HTML Article using DPS, but when I get to post it on the Adobe in iPad viewer content does not scroll smoothly and the content is cut and cropped (the entire page is not displayed), it is very judery and struggles to make the HTML below "the fold" so to speak.

I tried two import HTML options in DPS and both have the same isuues of performance/gal.

I have a video in my HTML code, which seemed to be causing a problem where the video streaming was struggling to be pulled through, so I have treid YouTube and Vimeo video streaming and performance/display problem is not resolved. I then tried embbeding a mp4 directly using HTML5 to see if it was a connection/band bandwidth issue and the problem persists. However the videos play, it's just the fact that the container is cropped in half.

Sometimes the HTML item makes it, but then when you scan save the page he struggles to render the above content? Also, then when drag you to the bottom of the page content is also cultivated that was visible before?

I went through every discussion available on the Adobe community and other resources, but all of the mentioned patches have no effect.

If anyone can help or knows the same problems any advise would be welcome.

Article HTML contains some JS too, it is not working properly, but I was wondering if JS causes problems? Just a thought.

Well, I think I can find the answer so I thought I would share with the community incase anyone who knows the same type of questions.

After testing another piece of HTML that also included the video in streaming and JavaScript heavy, I have narrowed the question to my JS. I had two Nivo Slider carousels which were the road to performance issues.

The other test HTML Article scrolls smoothly and video shoots as expected, although from time to time there is a slight delay in the page to scroll up and down, but it's barely noticeable.

I hope it can be useful to others in the future?

  • Clean install of El Capitan, causing all sorts of questions

    Hello

I decided to do a clean install of El Capitan on my Macbook Pro 13 "retina end 2014 using sudo command to set up the USB bootable stick with the latest version of os x for the Mac Appstore. Installation of El Capitan appeared flawless in its execution and first start went well. Before the installation, I just formatted the disk by erasing the current drive and creating a new partition that I chose to implement the OSX on.

Everything seems to be normal and familiar, until I try to log in iMessenger and FaceTime, which, in both cases, does not work after several attempts. Either I was told my internet connection has been lost or authentication failed. In addition to these connection problems, the overall performance of the operating system seems to be awkward and not nearly as smooth with my initial configuration to the factory system.

I started to wonder if the current version of El Capitan available on the Appstore is flawed and broken? Someone else met weird performance / connection problems after doing a clean installation of El Capitan on their Mac recently?

I can't use my Mac like this: someone in the support of Apple technology to address this issue now!

    Mike

I did the same install clean, but the Apple server.  I'm having the same problem, however, there are several threads of people experiencing the same problem with the new OS X updated on El Capitan and some who use Yosemite said that they have the problem of too!  It is on the end of Apple

I use an Early 2011 MacBook Pro 15 "2.0 GHz
