Peripheral USB works intermittently on XP computer at startup. the Office of other problems, why?
There are three 7 port usb hubs in a string, (all connected each), first of all, one from the computer, more a fourth with four ports connected to a Dell usb keyboard, which itself is connected to one of the hub 7 ports.
Sometimes the lights mounted on all four centers, but it's a matter of holding your breath until he died which means the devices connected to them also does not work.
Only one connected in the light of the computer is turned on, but even in this case, devices attached (like a usb keyboard), does not always work. They are all 2.0 but the computer is 1.0 I believe.
On the desktop, they usually receive regular work but the desktop freezes, BSOD and endless error messages, especially during video playback or attempt to use the webcam in reports.
Discovered today that you must enable USB in the bios. So far, who has worked, which means that there is no error reports or BSOD, nagging but the computer has not been extinguished at all since finding this out is the answer or is this something else?
* There is another PS/2 keyboard and a mouse that is always attached now especially when you use a CD, (like XP). have to use the boot CD 'aid' like Acronis or having to access something in the bios, these devices are the only things that work like computer starts.* *.
* Haven't had no idea where to put this, but the defalult was, "Performance and Maintenance", which I don't have on my computer so I just guess he's right.
Thank you, but do not want to touch the registry.
Never did not understand why he has often given it as a resolution, knowing he could totally botch a computer novice would have no idea how to solve this problem. His pan to the fire.
Anyway thank you all for having tried to prevent him from thinking that the problem is resolved.
It seems to enable USB in BIOS, it set as the hubs knitting every time and no. become as much error messages.
Takes some time in the BIOS, but it is nowhere as long as it was and now the ps/2 keyboard and mouse connected helps again.
Tried using usb ps2 adaptors but they were next useless.
Too bad, if they had worked, probably would not need other HID devices as backup :/

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would like to know the "best practices" for unplugging my computer permanently to the internet and other updates. I thought I would do a clean install of Windows XP, install my Microsoft Works again and nothing else. I would like to effectively transforming my computer into a word processor. He continues more and more slow. I get blue screen errors, once again. I received excellent Microsoft Support when it happened before, but since my computer is around 13 years, I think it is not worth the headache to try to remedy. I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, and my computer would not be able to upgrade. Please, can someone tell me how to make it only a word processor without updates or internet connection? (I already have a new computer with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, it's the computer that I use. The old computer is just sitting there and once a week or so I updates.) I appreciate your time, thank you!

DVD work only after running Fix It at the office.
I'm having a problem that affects all of a sudden my desktop computer. So, I have a bunch of DVD, all working on my laptop (W7). However, some of these DVDs do not work on my desktop (W7) for some reason any. They do not work as nothing is recognized on my computer. It's as if there is no DVD inside. DVDs that don't work on this computer are not random - it's always the same DVD. Something interesting about this problem, it is the DVD would work if and only if I run the troubleshooter Fix it. say so, I use the troubleshooter and the DVD starts to play, by removing the DVD and re - insert does not work. I have to raise difficulty for this.

I have a home wireless network with a new router Belkin (no separate modem). There are four laptop computers in our House, which connect to the wireless network. One of them is Windows 7, both Vista and the other is XP.
Sometimes the internet works perfectly well and all four laptop computers are able to connect simultaneously. But more often... when a new laptop is on and attempts to connect, all current laptops get kicked out of the network all together and are unable to reconnect. The network broadcasts always and appears in the list of available networks, but we are unable to connect.
Other times, if my roommate is very well on the internet and I turn on my laptop, I can't see even the network, despite the fact that it is to use! If I turn the router off and on again (sometimes we do this several times) it works OK again.
Sometimes this happens several times a day, other times we go days without having to reset. The problems are more frequent when the old Vista laptop is used which is what made me think it may be related to computers (or their settings) rather than the router.
Thank you
Alex
You may need to check every laptop and the router, to be sure.
Go to the website of the manufacturer of your Belkin router > make sure you have the latest Firmware for it.
Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for it last network adapters Vista drivers > download/install the.

When I turn on the computer, the logon screen is shown with details of the computer. The computer won't proceed beyond this point. So I can't enter the BIOS when I press the DELETE key and there is no way the computer goes to the office. What can I do?
Hi Ivor,
1. you receive messages or error codes when you try to start in normal mode?
2. did you of recent changes on the system?
Usually, you must press a key (for example, F2, F12, DEL, ESC) or a key combination whenever you turn on your computer but before Windows starts. The choice of the function key varies depending on the brand of your computer.
For more information, you can consult the following article:

Satellite Pro M70: removal of the USB device causes other peripheral USB does not work
Withdrawal/use of a USB for a USB device causes devices on USB port to get affected.
Satellite Pro M70-199 (2 GB RAM)
Windows XP Pro (SP2) with all updates of Windows installed until end of October 2006.
This laptop has 3 USB ports.
An Eicon Diva ISDN USB modem is connected to a USB port. When certain devices connected to a different USB port are deleted (even if removed safely with "eject" or "remove device safely", it causes the ISDN modem to file either a double channel (64 k + 64 k) ISDN, or for the ISDM modem to disconnect completely.)
Cause this include any memory stick USB, MP3 player (ipod and creative zen) and so on.
Do other devices, such as USB external hard drives & sometimes external DVD USB drives, and sonetimes do not produce this problem.
Is this a known issue?
If it is a hardware interrupt problem, how to solve it?
This problem is related to the modem and the laptop? As a note, in addition, intermittent (random) times (cannot reproduce all the time, but it happens once or twice a day) when a USB device is accessible it causes the modem USB ISDN to drop a single channel, even if the lights on the modem still show it as it is connected. In this case and the case above, the only way to get the modem ISDN USB running again is physically disconnect and reconnect.
The reason why it is a crucial issue is that:
(1) the modem speed is halved or disconnected
(2) the ISP continues to full rate for a double load connection even if a channel has been dropped.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello
I have Satellite M70-159 and I didn t notice any strange problems with the USB ports. I use a few of them as printer, webcam, USB, memory stick, optical mouse, and external HARD drive. The devices are recognized correctly and I always remove without option delete without danger.
Now I have Vista pre-installed and there is no problem so far. If I understand you right USB ports work fine but there is problem with USB modem only. Am I wrong?
Also try to contact the producer of modem support. Is perhaps the question like this known and if all goes well, they have a logical explanation. -
Peripheral USB do not work correctly on the Satellite M40 313
I have a Satellite M40 313 I bought there are about 1 1/2 years and have had some problems with.
However, I recently bought a Canon S3 IS and a Buffalo portable HD here in Japan, where I currently work.
These two devices do not work with my computer.Attach the HD produced the message that this device will work better with a USB 2.0 high speed Port, before XP decides that the HD is actually a keyboard HID device! The camera mount, for which I had installed the software provided, will produce a message that suggests that I have install usbscan.sys file and forces me to use a driver of generic digital camera that does not work with the Canon camera.
I fetch the requested file, but it made no difference...It seems that it is a problem of USB, and I also noticed that some of my friends devices USB do not work well with my computer.
In this case, what is the best way to update my software so its compatible USB? Have I been dismantled down to the USB 1.1 version by WIndows at any given time? The pilot on the hub root 5.1.2600.2180 and is dated 07/01/2001.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Hello
Perhaps a biosupdate could help you? I mean it s do not know if is it a hardware problem or software, so that you can first try to check if it s a software linked history by:
1.), updated the Bios
2.) recover the system with the recovery cd (backup your data first! ;))
3.) install the latest drivers (do not install MS updates or patches, sometimes they cause errors)If you have no success after completing these steps, and then give a few comments.
Welcome them

My Canon printer and my HewlettPackard printer-copier-Scanner, as well as my Web Cam just stopped working, and when I checked the Device Manager, I found that (IP), (PPPOE) WAN Miniports and (PPTP) had all of their disabled drivers. I'm unable to re - activate these drivers, and my Web Cam and printers were not included. Restoration of the system, and many re - start didn't help. Microsoft Fixit did not help. Can someone please help me solve these problems?
Hi WaggaJohn,
- What happens when you try to activate?
- You receive an error message?
- What happens when you connect the webcam to the computer?
- How the printers are connected to the computer?
- You are able to use other USB devices on the computer?
The WAN Miniport driver on Windows XP system allows to connect to some networks such as networks wireless large-scale.
Method 1
I suggest that you uninstall all the software driver for the webcam and the printer to the computer using Device Manager and Add/Remove programs and then reinstall the updated driver from the printer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Method 2
If no USB devices are running on the computer, then I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall all the computer USB controllers and check to see if it helps.
(a) click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
(b) click on the hardware tab.
(c) click the Device Manager button.
(d) expand Bus USB controllers.
(e) right click on each device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
(f) restart the computer to Windows reinstall all USB controllers on the computer.
Check if the problem persists.
